Must-See Mayhem: A Gallery Of The Craziest Sports-Related Riots In History [Video]

Is a “riot” ever acceptable? A Gallery Of Crazy Sports-Related Riots There’s been a lot of talk over the last few days about how “out of control” some people have gotten across the country i n response to the grand jury decision not to charge murderer Darren Wilson for gunning down unarmed teenager Mike Browm. But the truth is, people have “rioted” for much less and gotten away with it free of heavy criticism or media scrutiny. Looting, rioting and damaging property or causing harm to innocent people is never ok in any circumstance, but it’s also interesting (to say the least) how some forms of this behavior are all but accepted depending on the circumstances. Take, for instance, this video of students reacting to former Penn State head coach Joe Paterno being fired in the wake of his long-time assistant coach Jerry Sandusky being indicted for sexually young boys   on the campus for decades. And there are more where this came from. Hit the flip to check out more videos of some of the craziest sports-related riots in history, courtesy of the good folks over at Dunk360 .

The Side-Eye: Ridley Scott Says His ‘Exodus’ Film Would Never Get Financed Starring ‘Mohammad So-and-So’

This guy can’t be serious … Ridley Scott Explains White Washing His “Exodus” Movie As the premiere date looms near for his “Exodus” film director Ridley Scott is further explaining why he just HAD to white wash the production. As previously reported Scott said that he cast  “ major actors from different ethnicities to reflect the diversity of the culture.” Now he’s flat out saying that he casted the film the way he did (with popular WHITE actors) because actors named “Mohammad so-and-so from such-and-such” wouldn’t get the movie financed. DassKindaRacist. Variety.com reports: Like most high-profile religious pictures since Martin Scorsese’s 1988 “The Last Temptation of Christ,” “Exodus” became the subject of intense media scrutiny before Scott had ever exposed a frame of (digital) film on stages at London’s Pinewood Studios and on location in Spain. Much of the outcry online stemmed from his decision to cast white American, European and Australian actors in most of the key roles, no matter that the same could be said of “The Passion of the Christ,” “Noah,” “The Ten Commandments” and virtually any other big-budget Bible movies. “I can’t mount a film of this budget, where I have to rely on tax rebates in Spain, and say that my lead actor is Mohammad so-and-so from such-and-such,” Scott says. “I’m just not going to get it financed. So the question doesn’t even come up.” SMH…sooo basically eff giving a proper historical depiction and just focus on the moolah??? Got it. What a lazy azz answer. What do YOU think about Ridley Scott’s reasoning???

Where Is Yeezus: Tyrese Kicked Out Of Dubai Nightclub For Trying To Smash Kim Kardashian To Smithereens???

Was Tyrese thrown out for trying to chop down Kimmy Cakes??? Tyrese Denies Getting Kicked Out Of Dubai Club Because Of Kim Kardashian Recently, a number of gossip sites have rumored that Hollyweird actor Tyrese had been kicked out of a nightclub in Dubai because he was trying to holla at Kim Kardashian while she was visting for a Formula One Race. So are the rumors true?? Via Gossip Cop reports: Tyrese Gibson was NOT “kicked out” of a club in Dubai after he was seen hanging out with Kim Kardashian , despite a ridiculous new report. Gossip Cop can exclusively bust this rumor, which began on unreliable webloids. The site claims to have a “PIPING HOT” exclusive from one of its “ROCK SOLID SNITCHES.” the site alleges that Tyrese was asked to leave an unidentified Dubai nightclub, where he had supposedly been spotted with Kardashian. “A man who was with KIM (a VERY rich man) didn’t like what he saw,” explains the webloid. “So Tyrese was asked to leave the club.” MediaTakeOut adds, “We’re not going to SPECULATE exactly what Tyrese and Kim were doing… but it got Tyrese TOSSED!!!” No, it did not. The first clue that this is complete nonsense is that the site’s “snitch” can’t name the club where this all purportedly happened. When Gossip Cop inquired, we found out Tyrese and Kardashian never even saw each other. A source close to Kardashian tells Gossip Cop exclusively, “She was never in a club the night they are referencing.” Instead, the reality star was on a boat with her girlfriends. “She never saw Tyrese,” Gossip Cop is told. Tyrese took to his Instagram account to shut down the rumors… Kim was spotted all over Dubai and even hung out with Tyrese’s costar Michelle Rodriguez on a yacht adventure… Hit the flip for more photos of the Duabi trip next…

Race Matters: New Report Shows At Least 70 Police Departments Arrest Blacks At A Rate10 Times Higher Than An Other Race

Study Shows At Least 70 Police Departments Arrest Blacks At A Rate 10 Times Higher Than Other Races It’s certainly no secret that African-Americans are targeted by police at a much higher rate than any other race, but a new report done by USA Today recently revealed just how alarmingly true this epidemic is. via USA Today When it comes to racially lopsided arrests, the most remarkable thing about Ferguson, Mo., might be just how ordinary it is. Police in Ferguson — which erupted into days of racially charged unrest after a white officer killed an unarmed black teen — arrest black people at a rate nearly three times higher than people of other races. At least 1,581 other police departments across the USA arrest black people at rates even more skewed than in Ferguson, a USA TODAY analysis of arrest records shows. That includes departments in cities as large and diverse as Chicago and San Francisco and in the suburbs that encircle St. Louis, New York and Detroit. Those disparities are easier to measure than they are to explain. They could be a reflection of biased policing; they could just as easily be a byproduct of the vast economic and educational gaps that persist across much of the USA — factors closely tied to crime rates. In other words, experts said, the fact that such disparities exist does little to explain their causes. “That does not mean police are discriminating. But it does mean it’s worth looking at. It means you might have a problem, and you need to pay attention,” said University of Pittsburgh law professor David Harris, a leading expert on racial profiling. Whatever the reasons, the results are the same: Blacks are far more likely to be arrested than any other racial group in the USA. In some places, dramatically so. At least 70 departments scattered from Connecticut to California arrested black people at a rate 10 times higher than people who are not black, USA TODAY found. “Something needs to be done about that,” said Ezekiel Edwards, the head of the ACLU’s Criminal Law Reform Project, which has raised concerns about such disparate arrest rates. “In 2014, we shouldn’t continue to see this kind of staggering disparity wherever we look.”

Girl, Bye! ‘Hollywood Divas’ Star Golden Brooks Denies Trying To Steal Paula Jai Parker’s Homeless Husband

Who really wants Paula’s man??! Golden Brooks Denies Wanting To Steal Paula Jai Parker’s Husband It had been a while since Paula Jai Parker felt it necessary to check a woman about her man, but she didn’t hesitate to do so when she thought Golden Brooks was being a little too friendly toward her husband. Via S2S Magazine reports: Golden made it clear to her “Hollywood Divas” co-star that Forest, Paula’s spouse, was not what Golden considered desirable, and the former “Girlfriends” actress thinks Paula may want to get a grip. “She needs to loosen the reins a bit because, like I said, don’t nobody want her man . I’m not judging anyone’s marriage but I think sometimes if you have some stuff that hasn’t been dealt with and we get caught in the crossfire. I think her overreaction has nothing to do with me or any of us,” Golden told TVOne.TV. On the show, viewers witnessed Paula defend her marriage and forbid her co-stars from contacting her husband directly, with the exception of Elise Neal; although, he is supposedly the assistant director who runs things when Paula is unavailable. Paula also refused to give out her man’s personal email address, assuming he has one, and forced the ladies to use their shared account. “We are just the scapegoats for her insecurities,” Golden said. “This all started way before us.” After putting her cast members in their place and establishing the correct protocol for contacting her husband, Paula seemingly put the incident behind her. Though that’s the least of the ladies’ problems when it comes to their production. In addition to Paula’s perpetual absences, actress Countess Vaughn underwent surgery just days before production on their project began. As one of the executive producers, Golden felt it was her job to have an understudy in place. “Do you want to be on camera looking like a chipmunk? No. I was trying to be protective of her not looking her best on camera,” explained Golden who offered to take personal control of Golden’s weight loss. “I don’t think putting her on camera two days after surgery was a good idea.” Golden’s co-stars and some fans didn’t take kindly to her suggestion that Countess’ role be recast or removed from the film, but she doesn’t regret introducing the idea. “It doesn’t feel good, but you have to deal with business. You have a job to do. That was the fine line for me that was really hard. In business, you have to put aside your emotions.” Do you think Golden was really trying to steal Paula’s man???

No More Drama: Mary J. Blige Says Her Husband Isn’t Allowed To Have Female Friends — “That Doesn’t Work In A Marriage”

Do you agree? Mary J. Blige recently opened up about how she and husband of 11 years, Kendu Isaacs, have made it through the rough terrain of maintaining a happy matrimony-dom and a working business relationship (Isaacs is still her manager to this day). Among their tactics is each making sure the other has no friends of the opposite sex — Kendu is only permitted to socialize and hang out with other men, while Mary respectfully does the same with other women. As she explains to Stella Magazine : The couple live in a $12 million mansion beside the Hudson River in New Jersey and will celebrate their 11th wedding anniversary next month. “It definitely feels like an achievement. I never thought I’d last this long in a marriage,” she admits. What are the benefits of marrying one’s manager, I ask. “He always has my back – he’s going to fight to the death for Mary J Blige. The downside is that there’s no separation – it’s on all the time. When you don’t feel like answering to your manager, he’s still your husband,” she says, laughing. How do they negotiate that? “If one of you doesn’t want to talk about something right now, you have to respect that. And you have to respect each other’s space.” They have separate groups of friends. “All females for me, all guys for him,” she says, sternly. “There’s none of that, ‘Oh, that’s my female friend. Oh, that’s my guy friend.’ No. Not in a marriage, I’ve never seen that work.” But being a wife has changed her in ways she didn’t expect. “Being a single person and an artist, there’s a lot of selfishness that you don’t even know you have,” she says. “Being a wife, it’s not all about me.” Damn, what happened to trust? What do you think, Bossip Fam? Can wives and husbands maintain friendships with members of the opposite sex without sacrificing their relationship??
