Teenage Black Boy Denied Heart Transplant Due To Juvenile Record An Atlanta-area teenager fighting for his life with less than six months to live is being denied a necessary transplant that would save his life all because the hospital says his past run-ins with the law indicate that he wouldn’t take the follow-up steps necessary to effectively make the transplant a success. via Think Progress Fifteen-year-old Anthony Stokes has less than six months to live unless he receives an emergency heart transplant. But his family has been told that Anthony doesn’t qualify for the transplant list because he has a “history of non-compliance” — partly due to his history of earning low grades and having some trouble with the law. “They said they don’t have any evidence that he would take his medicine or that he would go to his follow-ups,” Melencia Hamilton, Anthony’s mother, told WSBTV News. Hamilton explained that her son has an enlarged heart, and a transplant is the only thing that will help his condition. The doctors at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta weren’t very specific about what exactly contributed to their decision to label Anthony as “non-compliant.” But family friends explained to WSBTV News that they were told it’s partly because of Anthony’s performance in school and run-ins with law enforcement. His family and friends don’t accept that as a valid reason to deny the teen life-saving treatment. “We must save Anthony’s life,” family friend Mack Major, identified as Anthony’s mentor, told CBS Atlanta. “We don’t have a lot of time to do it, but it’s something that must be done.” This might be some of the dumbest, most bogus bunch of bullisht we’ve ever heard. Via Hollywood Reporter : Specifically, she is not prepared to talk about her sexuality, which has been the topic of much debate. “I don’t feel the need to discuss my private life on this show or any other show,” she says somewhat wearily as she eats a sushi lunch at her desk. “There’s the part of my life that the public and I share together. And there’s the part that’s mine to keep for myself. And that’s mine. For me.” Privacy has become an archaic notion in an era of social media-enabled voyeurism. But executives at Sony support Latifah’s desire to keep her personal life off-limits. “It’s her choice what she chooses to talk about,” says Holly Jacobs, executive vp syndication and reality programming at Sony Pictures Television. “It doesn’t feel relevant to me because we’re just making a big, entertaining show and celebrating all of life. There’s a difference between talking about one’s personal life and one’s point of view and perception of the world and how they see it. Zimbabwe Opens ‘Blacks Only’ Stock Exchange Via Telegraph reports: The plan to grab mining companies, most of which are South African-owned, follows President Robert Mugabe’s landslide re-election last week. Saviour Kasukawere, the ‘indigenisation’ minister, said on Tuesday that the government or black Zimbabweans would take 51 per cent of the shares in all major foreign-owned companies, valued at about £4.8 billion. No compensation will be paid. John Robertson, an independent economist in Harare, said: “There is no logic in that plan. He is in danger of introducing economic apartheid which is absurd.” Mr Robertson added: “I think this is only politicking and there is no substance to this.” Metals and minerals, including platinum and gold, accounted for 71 per cent, or £480 million, of Zimbabwe’s total exports last year. South Africa has a bilateral trade and protection agreement with Zimbabwe. If the regime presses ahead and seizes a controlling stake in South African mining companies, they could use these agreements to secure compensation or the return of assets via international courts. Whether Mr Mugabe’s regime would respect any such rulings is another question. Mr Mugabe seized almost all of Zimbabwe’s white-owned farms, often in defiance of court orders, and without compensation. The government taking over all wealth and means of production? O’Reilly, in all his pedantic glory, explained: “The reason is the collapse of the traditional African-American family unit; 50 years ago when Blacks had it much worse than they had it now, 25 percent of Black babies were born out of wedlock. Today, the number is close to 75 percent. That is catastrophic. But the civil rights industry and the White power fracture basically ignore the problem. They also ignore the entertainment industry putting out vile products aimed at young people, some of whom incorporate the gangster culture in to their own lives.” He continued, “White people don’t force Black people to have babies out of wedlock. That’s a personal decision. A decision that has devastated millions of children and led to disaster, both socially and economically.” At the root of O’Reilly’s rant was his obvious lack of GAF about black single mothers. However, we’re confused as to how black women having babies before marriage justifies George Zimmerman being acquitted for senselessly murdering an unarmed black teenager who came from a 2-parent home. Why? We’re not sure. The fans don’t care about that isht, but we digress.
