Again with children shooting children . 8-Year-Old Boy Shoots Friend With Rifle According to Raw Story A 5-year-old boy in Denton, Texas was reportedly in critical condition on Saturday after an accidental shooting involving an 8-year-old friend. KXAS-TV reported that the two boys were alone in a bedroom when the 8-year-old found a .22-caliber rifle and pointed it at the younger boy. Police said the older boy then accidentally shot his friend in the left side of his head. Two adults, including the 5-year-old boy’s grandfather, and a teenager were also inside the home at the time of the shooting. The younger boy was first taken to a local medical facility, then transported by air to Children’s Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. KTVT-TV reported that he was on a ventilator as of Saturday evening. “It’s a very tragic accident, especially the day before Mother’s Day,” said Denton Police spokesperson Orlando Hinojosa. “Education is the most important thing about firearm safety. Just make sure your children know, if you do have weapons in the house, where they’re at, and for them not to be reachable.” This incident is the third shooting involving children in Texas this week, and the second involving a .22-caliber rifle. On Tuesday, Houston officials said a 5-year-old boy was handling one when he accidentally shot his 7-year-old brother while the two were taking a bath. And on Wednesday, a 2-year-old boy in Corsicana shot himself in the head with his father’s handgun. Children stay shooting each other in Texas. What the hell is going on down there? But for me, it’s very difficult because I have to hear the balance, right? So you have someone who says ‘This is awful, this is the worst thing I have ever seen.’ And then I’ve got a mother who’s sending me a letter saying, and these are real letters by the thousands on my Facebook page, ‘I was in an abusive relationship, I was able to get out when I saw Diary of a Mad Black Woman.’ One woman talked about having a cornea transplant and the first movie she wanted to see was mine. These are real stories that touch my heart in such a way that I’m thinking, why even pay attention to that when it’s the people that are moved and keep coming to see the films.” Tyler Perry knows what works and what doesn’t work for his fanbase. Michelle Bachmann Says Attacks Were Judgment From God According to Raw Story On Wednesday, U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) told a group of conservative lawmakers gathered for a prayer event that the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 and the siege of the U.S. embassy in Benghazi, Libya were “the hand of judgment” from God. According to Right Wing Watch, the event, held in the Capitol’s Statuary Hall, was called “Washington: A Man of Prayer.” The event began with some a cappella Christian singing and progressed with a series of conservative Christian speakers, including Bachmann, who urged lawmakers and others to join her and “birther” author Joseph Farah of World Net Daily for “9/11 Pray,” a day of repentance, prayer and fasting on September 11, 2013. “It’s no secret that our nation may very well be experiencing the hand of judgment,” said Bachmann Wednesday. “It’s no secret that we all are concerned that our nation may be in a time of decline.” She went on to say that only God could set the nation to rights. “The answer is what we are doing here today: humbling ourselves before an almighty God, crying out to an almighty God, saying not of ourselves but you, would you save us, oh God? We repent of our sins, we turn away from them, we seek you, we seek your ways,” she said. “Our nation has seen judgment not once but twice on September 11,” she said, meaning the terrorist attacks of 9/11/2001 and the 2012 attack in Benghazi. “That’s why we’re going to have ‘9/11 Pray’ on that day. Is there anything better that we can do on that day rather than to humble ourselves and to pray to an almighty God?” We think Michelle is piff-puffin on that sticky icky.

Nun Faces 20 Years For Symbolic Break-In According to Raw Story An 83-year-old nun who broke into a Tennessee depleted uranium storage facility in 2012 and splashed human blood on several surfaces, exposing a massive security hole at the nation’s only facility used to store radioactive conventional munitions, was convicted Wednesday and faces a term of up to 20 years in prison. The only regret Sister Megan Rice shared with members of her jury on Wednesday was that she wished 70 years hadn’t passed before she took direct action, according to the BBC. She and two other peace activists, 64-year-old Michael Walli and 56-year-old Greg Boertje-Obed, were convicted of “invasion of a nuclear facility” in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, even though investigators admitted they did not get close to any actual nuclear material. The three activists are part of a group called “Transform Now Plowshares,” a reference to the book of Isaiah, which says, “They shall beat their swords into plowshares. They shall learn war no more.” All three face individual sentences of up to 20 years, along with a litany of fines. As they invaded the Y-12 National Security Complex at Oak Ridge, a perimeter fence was cut, several surfaces were spray-painted, banners were hung and activists read from the Bible. They also spread human blood on several surfaces, saying its use was symbolic, meant to remind people “of the horrific spilling of blood by nuclear weapons.” “The shortcomings in security at one of the most dangerous places on the planet have embarrassed a lot of people,” the activists’ attorney, Francis Lloyd, told members of the jury according to the BBC. “You’re looking at three scapegoats behind me.” Sister Rice has been arrested between 40 or 50 times committing acts of civil disobedience, according to The New York Times, including once in Nevada after she physically blocked a truck at a nuclear test site. “I believe we are all equally responsible to stop a known crime,” Sister Rice said from the witness stand, according to quotes published by her group. She called herself a “citizen of the world” and reportedly smiled as the verdict was read. Do you think she is a nut or hero?

In ain’t isht news… Grandma Used 11-Year-Old Granddaughter To Shoplift Via WSBTV reports: A grandmother is in jail in Atlanta accused of using her granddaughter to help her shoplift. Police said Howard used her granddaughter to help her steal $139 worth of merchandise. Morrow police said she concealed the stolen goods in a baby bag, which was all caught on tape. “That’s absolutely horrific. You don’t do that,” shopper Vickie Harris told Jones. The allegations floored Harris and her daughter who were shopping at the Walmart on Wednesday. Harris said no adult should have their loved ones participating in crime. “It sets a bad example. You can’t really get mad if they do it,” she said. Howard told the judge in court she is unemployed. The judge explained she faces shoplifting, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and criminal trespassing charges. The judge said the last charge is because Howard should have never entered the store because she was barred after two prior shoplifting arrests. “I would tell her that that’s not right to do at all,” said Shannon Harris, who turned 16 Wednesday. She said she’s old enough to know a grandmother should never coerce their grandchildren into committing crimes. “It doesn’t even sound good coming from your grandmother in the first place. They’re supposed to set the example on how you should live your life,” Shannon Harris said. The judge gave Howard a $9,000 bond and once again ordered her to stay away from the Walmart. The judge also ordered her to stay away from her grandchild. They should have not even issued a bond. She need to sat her triflin’ azz down somewhere and be a better example to her grand kids!

Christian Singer Hires Hitman To Kill Wife According to NY Daily News The lead singer of Christian heavy metal band “As I Lay Dying” tried to hire a hit man to kill his estranged wife, authorities said. Grammy-nominated rocker Tim Lambesis, 32, was arrested in a sting operation 2 p.m. Tuesday in Oceanside, Southern California. Authorities said they sprang into action after hearing Thursday how he wanted someone to murder Meggan Lambesis — the mother of his three adopted children. “The information came to us late last week. We acted quickly on it. I believe we averted a great tragedy,” said Jan Caldwell of the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department. Heavily tattooed Lambesis, who lives 20 miles north of San Diego in Del Mar, was served with divorce papers by his wife in September 2012. The long-haired singer’s band, formed in 2000, has released six albums. Its most successful was “An Ocean Between Us” which soared to No. 8 on the Billboard charts in 2007. His group had recently returned from tour in Asia, reports Billboard.com. Metal Blade, the group’s record label, has not commented on the arrest.
