La Toya Jackson Denies Controlling Michael Jackson’s Kids Careers La Toya Jackson is firing back at The New York Post, calling a recent article on her relationship with Michael Jackson’s three children “false” and “derogatory.” The article referred to La Toya as a “gold-digging diva” and claimed that she “pounced” while the rest of the family was engaged in a bizarre feud last summer. It also was reported that La Toya is in the process of shopping a Jackson family reality series and that Oprah Winfrey’s OWN was thought to be the front-runner in a $10 million bidding war. Via Billboard reports: Below is La Toya’s response in full, submitted to The Hollywood Reporter by publicist Juliette Harris: “The story in The NY Post is completely and unequivocally false. Neither La Toya nor her company represent any of MJ’s children in any legal capacity nor has she received any commissions or payment as a result of their individual ventures. As a loving Aunt, when the children ask for help or advice she supports them 100%, and will continue to do so. Furthermore, there is no shopping of a reality show for the children. Paris did her movie deal over a year ago directly with the production company and La Toya had nothing to do with it. Over the past year, Prince has continuously asked his Aunt for her help in starting his career because of the infrastructure she has. TSA Announces Plans To Begin Allowing Small Knives On Flights Almost 12 years after the 9-11 terrorist attacks that changed American history forever, the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has announced plans to begin allowing small knives, golf clubs and hockey sticks to be brought on board. via CBS New s Small knives are set to be permitted in carry-on luggage on flights, in a change to current guidelines announced by the TSA today. Knives with blades no more than 2.36 inches in length from tip to where the blade meets the handle or hilt will be approved for carry-on. The blade must be no more than half an inch in width. The TSA also announced toy bats and sporting equipment such as hockey sticks and golf clubs will also be allowed on board aircraft. The TSA said the changes were made after a committee had reviewed the agency’s prohibited items list. “This decision aligns TSA with International Civil Aviation Organization standards and our European counterparts,” the TSA said in a statement. The changes are set to come into effect on April 25. But the changes were opposed by two industry groups. The Flight Attendants Union Coalition, representing nearly 90,000 Flight Attendants said the decision was ”poor and shortsighted”. ”Continued prohibition of these items is an integral layer in making our aviation system secure and must remain in place,” said the union in a statement. The office of American president Barack Obama will have to respond to one of the greatest appeals of our time: a We the People petition to change the national anthem to R. Kelly’s 2003 hit “Ignition (Remix).” Via Daily Dot reports: The undersigned would like the Obama administration to recognize the need for a new national ahem, one that even a decade after its creation is still hot and fresh out the kitchen. America has changed since Francis Scott Key penned our current anthem in 1814. Since then, we have realized that after the show, it’s the after party, and that after the party, it’s the hotel lobby, and—perhaps most importantly—that ’round about four, you’ve got to clear the lobby, at which point it’s strongly recommend that you take it to the room and freak somebody. If that isn’t the American dream, then what is? Just picture R. Kelly singing the new national anthem with a diplomatic durag on and tell us that wouldn’t make you a proud American. Verizon Turns In Deacon For Pedophilia A longtime deacon at a Fullerton church was charged Friday with possessing “numerous files of child films,” Baltimore County police said. Via Baltimore Sun reports: William Steven Albaugh, 67, a deacon at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church on Belair Road, was arrested at his Nottingham home at 7:45 a.m. Police had searched Albaugh’s Treadway Court home and said they found images of children on his Verizon Online account and on thumb drives. Police do not believe that children at St. Joseph’s were victims. Albaugh declined to comment when reached by phone Friday. He told police he has viewed child flicks since the 1970s, when he would go to adult bookstores in Baltimore, according to charging documents. Albaugh told police he saved the images to his computer but said he would never harm a child, the documents say. Police said they recovered numerous files, including graphic images and videos. According to a statement from the Archdiocese of Baltimore, Albaugh was ordained in 1996 and assigned to St. Joseph Church . He has been suspended from the church. “Neither the parish nor the Archdiocese has received any prior allegations against Mr. Albaugh, who successfully fulfilled all of the child & youth protection requirements of the Archdiocese, including a criminal history screening,” the statement said. The archdiocese is working to inform church members, the statement said, and encourages anyone to report abuse. Detectives began investigating Albaugh after Verizon Online notified the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that Albaugh, a subscriber, had stored images of children engaged in sexual acts on the online cloud storage system, police said. Police recovered two CPU towers, a laptop computer, multiple storage devices and an iPad. Albaugh told police that he used the tablet to view graphic websites that include pictures of children, according to charging documents. Detectives located the images on his home computer under the use profile name “Bill,” the document said. St. Joseph’s is scheduled to hold a meeting at the church for parishioners and school families at 7 p.m. Monday. Officials from the archdiocese will be present to answer questions, according to the church website. Albaugh was released on $75,000 bond. The investigation is continuing, police said. Here are some excerpts from Rih’s cover interview with ELLE Via NYDailyNews : The Barbadian beauty, 25, opened up in the April issue of Elle UK about how Brown inspired her new single “Stay,” and why she intends to keep him in her life, no matter what anyone else thinks. “‘Stay’ is a story about having love that close and wanting it to last forever,” the “Diamonds” singer explained to the magazine, on newsstand March 6. “You don’t have that feeling with everybody so when you have it you don’t want to let go of it. I would definitely say that he is the one I have that kind of relationship with,” she said of Brown. Though Brown, 23, and Rihanna have had a rocky past, the two rekindled their romance last year. Even with Brown’s recent outbursts, including a spat over a parking lot space with Frank Ocean, Rihanna feels that the two have wiped the slate clean from their violent past. “What we want [is] a great friendship that’s unbreakable,” the star noted. “Now that we’re adults we can do this right. We got a fresh start and I’m thankful for that.” Still, the star isn’t completely insulated from the pressures of fame and the criticism Brown has attracted in the media.
