Really? Air Force Man In Charge Of The Sexual Assault Prevention Unit Busted By One-Time For Groping A Woman While Slizzard

Some people are a hot mess. How are you the head of the sexual assault prevention unit and you out here groping women? Air Force Man Charged With Groping According to The NY Post The Air Force’s top man in charge of sexual-assault prevention was busted for allegedly groping a woman in suburban Washington D.C., police said today. A drunken Lt. Col. Jeff Krusinski “approached a female victim in a parking lot and grabbed her breasts and buttocks,” according to a report by the Arlington County police. The alleged groping happened in the 500 block of 23rd Street in Crystal City at 12:35 a.m. yesterday, cops said. “The victim fought the suspect off as he attempted to touch her again and alerted police,” according to Arlington County cops. Krusinski, 41, of Arlington, Va., was removed from his position as head of the branch’s Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Office, Air Force spokeswoman Natasha Waggoner said. “This report is extremely disturbing. It is clear that the status quo regarding sexual assaults in the military is simply unacceptable,” said US Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY). The New York lawmaker said she’ll propose reforms next week, aimed at taking decisions on sexual assault cases outside the normal chain of command. “We have to reform how the military handles sexual assault cases and take on the culture that perpetuates this kind of behavior,” said Gillibrand, who held hearings in March on sexual assaults in the military. Krusinski, booked on suspicion of misdemeanor sexual battery, posted a $5,000 bond and was released. He did not know the victim, cops said. It wasn’t immediately clear why Krusinski had the cuts and bruises on his face in his booking mugshot. Krusinski’s arraignment is set for Thursday. The Air Force, on its Web site, described the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Program as a program that “reinforces the Air Force’s commitment to eliminate incidents of sexual assault through awareness and prevention training, education, victim advocacy, response, reporting and accountability.” The description continues: “Sexual assault is criminal conduct. It falls well short of the standards America expects of its men and women in uniform.” Do you think sexual assault by and amongst the military needs to be examined more?

Joseph Gordon-Levitt Takes On Awards Duty At Sundance

Joseph Gordon-Levitt had quite a blockbuster 2012 with roles in The Dark Knight Rises , Lincoln and Looper , but he’s holding onto his indie big screen roots at this year’s Sundance Film Festival . Aside from his feature directorial debut, Don Jon’s Addiction , which will bow in the festival’s Premieres section, the actor and now filmmaker has been tapped to host the 2013 Sundance Film Festival Awards Ceremony. [ Related: Sundance Film Festival Reveals 2013 U.S. & World Competition Slate AND Sundance Film Festival Unveils Star-Studded Premieres & Documentary Premieres Lineup ] Gordon-Levitt is certainly no stranger to Sundance, having appeared in seven films post 3rd Rock from the Sun days including Mysterious Skin , Brick and (500) Days of Summer . He also debuted his directorial short Sparks at the fest in 2009 and his online production company hitRECord installed an exhibit in Sundance’s New Frontier in 2010, followed by a live performance in 2012. Don Jon’s Addiction , which stars Gordon-Levitt as well as Scarlett Johansson and Julianne Moore, centers on what the festival describes as “a selfish modern-day Don Juan attempts to change his ways” (above is a still from the film). It is screening Out of Competition. Last year, actress Parker Posey had been slated to host the awards show, but Sundance staff including festival Director John Cooper had to take over after she fell ill. Along with the overall festival, the awards are a harbinger of the year ahead for American indies and beyond. Beasts of the Southern Wild took last year’s Grand Jury Prize, Dramatic prize, while The House I Live In won in the Documentary category. Oscar short-listed docs Detropia , Searching for Sugar Man and The Invisible War were also among prize-winners last year. Noted Cooper in a statement: “Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s accomplished and original artistic perspectives have contributed greatly to Sundance Institute and the independent film community. As host, he is sure to add flair to our Awards Ceremony in similarly exciting ways, and we are thrilled that he will join us in recognizing outstanding achievements at this year’s festival.” The 2013 Sundance Film Festival takes place January 17 – 27. Movieline will be there with daily coverage.

‘Star Wars Episode 7’: Is The Force With The Ladies For A Change?

Despite the fact that Princess Leia is every bit as iconic as Luke Skywalker and Han Solo , the fact remains that the entire Star Wars series has a total of five women with speaking roles, and only three of them — Padme/Amidala, Leia, and Anakin’s mother — count as major characters. It’s no wonder then, that Anakin had to be conceived by the Force itself, since apparently, there aren’t enough women in the Star Wars galaxy to populate a trailer park, much less a multi-planet republic, by normal means. But could the force finally be with the double-X chromosome squad for a change? If a cryptic tweet from Slashfilm ‘s Peter Sciretta hasn’t been misunderstood, the answer is a solid “possibly”! ‘Star Wars Episode 7’ Plot Possibilities Now obviously, we’re still very much in early speculation mode for  Star Wars Episode VII . Will it be burping- and Jar Jar-free? Will it be based in-part on the Expanded Universe? Will we see aging stoner Harrison Ford playing an elderly Han Solo, like The Dude ? Who knows?! But speculation is the fuel on which the Internet runs, so far be it for me to say anything other than ‘yes, all those things will be true.’ The biggest mystery is, of course, just who the new films are going to be about. Everything, from the children of our original heroes, to the further adventures of Geriatric Luke, has been baselessly suggested, but Disney is keeping mum for now. Of course, even if Disney is bringing the full power of their enormous secrets-keeping machine to bear (seriously, how did they keep the Star Wars deal a secret for so long?), now that Episode VII is almost certainly in the full flower of pre-production, tidbits are bound to come out. Enter Sciretta, who tweeted this circumspect comment Thursday afternoon: Who said the lead character in Star Wars Episode VII is going to be a male star? :)— Peter Sciretta (@slashfilm) January 03, 2013 According to a Slashfilm   Star Wars round-up post by Germain Lussier on Friday morning, Sciretta asked that this tweet be added to the article, but that “he couldn’t say anymore,” which strongly suggests he knows something specific, or at least wants us to think he does. The comment could be taken in any number of ways, of course. He might simply mean they’ll be casting a relatively unknown male actor in the lead. But the fact that he felt the need to specify male, rather than leave the question of gender blank, suggests the tantalizing possibility of a female lead. And yes, the sound you hear is millions of voices, crying out, “About damned time.” As for who this character could possibly be, don’t look to the established Star Wars Expanded Universe for answers. The official canon is incredibly convoluted at best.  (See for yourself here .)  It’s a tiered system in which the movies, and George Lucas himself, overrides everything else. Sure, we might see fan favorite Mara Jade, or even Leia and Han’s daughter Jaina, but given that public statements suggest the new films will plot their own course, I expect a completely new character. Assuming for a moment that Episode VII will mine the Expanded Universe, who would you like to see take the postulated female lead? Let us know, and feel free to argue about continuity, in comments. George Lucas Brought The ‘Force’ To ‘Red Tails,’ Says Terrence Howard

Director has wanted to bring story of Tuskegee Airmen to big screen for nearly 25 years. By Kevin P. Sullivan Terrence Howard Photo: MTV News George Lucas made a name for himself in the late ’70s and ’80s with “Star Wars” and “Indiana Jones,” but for nearly 25 years, the director tried to bring one story to the big screen, a movie he wasn’t able to make until now. After decades in development, “Red Tails,” Lucas’ tale of the Tuskegee Airmen, will finally hit theaters. The story of Lucas’ battle to get “Red Tails” in front of the camera only added to the significance of the story for many of the cast and crew. Terrence Howard plays Col. A.J. Bullard, one of the commanders of the Tuskegee Airmen, America’s first African-American air regimen. The actor told MTV News that Lucas’ passion set the tone for the entire project. “Well, he has complete control of the Force. As far as I understand it, he invented the Force,” Howard said. “It’s quite a moving inertia associated with it. You believe in him, and when he says something, he follows it all the way through.” According to Howard, having such a strong backing force changed the way the actors approached the film and their roles. “It gives us a great deal of encouragement walking into the roles,” he said. “We know that we’re going to be 100 percent supported.” Like any Lucas project, “Red Tails” comes with the technical wizardry that made the man a legend. “When you look at the final project and you look at these fight scenarios, you can’t believe that it’s not real,” Howard said. “It looks tangible, and it’s wonderful to be able to say ‘George Lucas manned this, created this vessel that Anthony Hemingway was able to direct.’ We become moving parts of this incredible armada.” Do you plan to see ‘Red Tails’ in theaters? Why Eric Roberson Is The Present And Future Of R&B [ORIGINAL]

Continue reading here:

There are countless disposable artists in every genre, but Eric Roberson has a career that every R&B singer who wants longevity could learn from. Overnight success did not come his way, by any means. In 10 years, Eric has released eight albums independently and built an extremely loyal fan base. Since Eric Roberson didn’t obtain fame quickly, he developed into the outstanding recording artist and performer he is today. In addition, he had plenty of time to make sure he was making music for the right reasons. Making music was initially something Eric did for fun, but his fans demanded that he take it seriously. Eric admits that it has taken a toll on his social life, but when he’s onstage, there’s no doubt that he loves entertaining. Roberson recently rocked a packed Highline Ballroom in New York City. He kept his audience engaged for over an hour with a variety of sounds and a charismatic personality. Roberson showed his range by performing a set that included the Go-Go classic “Da Butt” by E.U., a touch of reggae, and a cover of “Tender Love” by the Force MDs. The bulk of his show featured songs of his own, like “Can I Borrow You” and “Pretty Girl.” Some artists have to rely on gimmicks, but Eric has a body of really good music to lean on. If every R&B artist had Eric’s dedication and passion for their artistry, and the ability not to take themselves too seriously, this genre wouldn’t experience dry spells as it has in the past. Mister Nice Guy , Eric Roberson’s first album release on someone else’s dime, is now available . If he’s new to you, you’ll understand why Eric Roberson is the present and future of R&B after you listen. And then you’ll wonder why you hadn’t heard of him sooner. Watch Pint-Sized Thor One-Up the Volkswagen Darth Vader Kid

Remember that adorable Star Wars -themed VW Super Bowl commercial that went viral, about a tyke in a Darth Vader costume who’s duped into thinking his Force is strong by a dad with a remote-controlled keychain? (Ah, deceiving kids. Always fun.) Well, here comes Little Thor, whose frustrated attempts to similarly use Mjolnir on unsuspecting household appliances and a golden retriever culminate in a decidedly different ending.
