Justin Bieber Wins NRJ Artist of the Year Award

While those in the movie and TV business gathered in Hollywood last night for the 2012 SAG Awards , Justin Bieber was in Cannes, France for the NRJ Music Awards, which takes place every year in January and which were created by a radio station in that country. It was a worthwhile trip for the singer, too… because he won Artist of the Year! “i never thought i would ever get out of stratford and now im celebrating in france. never gets old. ALWAYS grateful! #Ilovemyfans,” Justin Tweeted soon after taking home the trophy. We applaud the Biebs for earning yet another honor, but we gotta ask: bright blue sports jacket, JB? Really?!? Not sure if we approve of that fashion statement.

The Side-Eye: DSK Says He Had No Idea The Good Time Girls He Chopped Down In “Group Lovin’ Sessions” Were Professionals

This guy makes Tiger Woods look like a lightweight!!! DSK is in trouble again — this time for hooking up with hookers. Shamed former IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn never knew he was having sex with prostitutes at “group lovin’ sessions” – because ‘all of the women were “disrobed” at the time’, his lawyer claimed today. The extraordinary excuse came as new mobile phone records showed the disgraced economist slept with 10 different hookers all charging more than £1,200 a time. As the latest sleazy revelations emerged, Strauss-Kahn’s lawyer Henri Leclerc said: ‘There is no way he could have known these women were prostitutes. At these parties, people were not dressed, and I defy you to tell the difference between an “undressed” prostitute and any other “undressed” woman.’ Strauss-Kahn, 62, has already confessed to taking part in swingers parties and having a ‘liberated but legal’ sex life. He has admitted he needs treatment for sex addiction. But he also insisted he never knew girls were being paid to have sex with him and said he had ‘a horror of prostitutes and pimps’. He has branded claims he slept with vice girls as a ‘malicious insinuation’ and vowed to clear his name. Strauss-Kahn has been engulfed in a tide of sex scandals since he was arrested for trying to rape a New York hotel chambermaid in May. The charges were dropped but the outrage at the accusations forced him to resign as the IMF director and abandon his hopes of becoming the next French president. He returned to France only to face similar accusations of sexually abusing a young French writer, which were also dropped. Strauss-Kahn then confessed to taking part in sex parties after he was named in connection with an underage prostitution racket in Lille, northern France. But it has never been suggested he slept with girls below the age of 18 – the legal age to work as a prostitute in France. He then suffered nationwide humiliation when a succession of hookers came forward alleging they had had sex with Strauss-Kahn. One hooker said Strauss-Kahn liked ‘rough sex’ while another told how he even invited her to his office at the headquarters of the International Monetary Fund in Washington DC. Now France’s Le Point magazine has seen records from a mobile phone lent to Strauss-Kahn by Lille businessman Fabrice Paszkowski showing he was in contact with ten different call girls. One 29-year-old prostitute named Jade told police how Strauss-Kahn was ‘treated like the Messiah’ at orgies that were ‘packed with well-known people’. Another 30-year-old prostitute named Florence said she took part in 11 orgies over six years with the world’s former top banker. She added: ‘At these evenings, DSK had sex with every girl in the room.’ ‘I’m not saying he raped me, but I got the feeling that he liked rough sex.’ Police are set to interview Strauss-Kahn in the coming weeks over his links to the prostitution racket. Le Point magazine said: ‘DSK will be summoned to Lille and most likely placed in custody to be confronted with the allegations against him.’ Strauss-Kahn has meanwhile made a discreet return to public life by giving a speech on the global economy at a conference in China. His wife Anne Sinclair was named France’s Woman of the Year for 2011 for her ‘tenacity and unwavering support’ for her husband in the face of adversity. SMH @ this guy! He’s like a modern day Marquis De Sade… They might make a movie about him, with Gerard Depardieu playing his role. Would you watch it? Might be hard not to get a NR rating for that one. Elsewhere In The World: Former Panama Dictator Manuel Noriega To Return After 22 Years

Via CNN: Former dictator Manuel Noriega left France for Panama on Sunday, nearly 22 years after U.S. forces forcibly removed him from office. The 77-year-old is expected to arrive in Panama City on Sunday after a stop in Spain. Panamanian officials want him to face justice in the killing of Hugo Spadafora, his political opponent. Noriega was convicted in absentia in Spadafora’s kidnapping and killing in 1985. He has been in France since 2010 after two decades in an American prison. For almost two decades, Noriega was a major player in a country of critical regional importance to the United States because of its location on the Panama Canal. The key strategic and economic waterway between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans on the narrow isthmus links the Americas. While in U.S. custody, he suffered from prostate cancer and a stroke. The U.S. government has portrayed Noriega as the ultimate crooked cop — a man who was paid millions by the Medellin drug cartel in Colombia to protect cocaine and money shipments. He was convicted of drug trafficking and other crimes in the United States. Noriega was indicted in the United States on charges of racketeering, laundering drug money and drug trafficking. He was accused of having links to Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar’s notorious Medellin cartel and, in the process, amassing a multimillion-dollar fortune. Amid growing unrest in Panama, U.S. President George H.W. Bush ordered the invasion of Panama in December 1989, saying his rule posed a threat to U.S. lives and property. Noriega fled his offices and tried to seek sanctuary in the Vatican Embassy in Panama City. He surrendered in January 1990 and was quickly escorted to the United States for civilian trial.

WRAP IT UP, B!!! UK Man Living On Welfare Has Fifteenth Kid By Thirteenth Different Woman And Two More On The Way!!!

Yeah, we know what you were thinking. And yes, this could actually be the picture of one his kids Via UK’s Daily Mail: The jobless man branded ‘Britain’s most feckless dad’ for fathering 14 children has had another child – and two more are on the way. Jamie Cumming, 34, from Dundee, who lives off benefits, has had 15 children by 13 different women – and is unable to pay maintenance for any of them. Mr Cumming’s 19-year-old ex-girlfriend gave birth to his latest child, a son, two weeks ago. His current girlfriend, also 19, was last night due to give birth to another boy. A girl of 17 is understood to be expecting his 17th child in the New Year. Mr Cumming’s mother, Lorraine, said last night: ‘He needs to take some responsibility. He’s an embarrassment and I’m having nothing to do with him.’ He first told his mother and his father Harry he was going to become a dad, aged just 17. His girlfriend Kelly Dulley gave birth to a little girl in February 1995 and everyone believed the couple would go on to get married. But once the baby was born, Jamie started a relationship with Kelly’s cousin. Their relationship lasted 10 years but the couple struggled to have a baby despite receiving IVF treatment through the NHS. While they were trying for a baby Jamie had managed to father another child with a woman who gave birth to his first son in 1997. She has since moved to France and neither Jamie nor his family have seen her or the child since. Around the same time in 1997, Jamie got another girl pregnant – Kelly’s cousin’s friend. In November 1998 he fathered another child after a one-night stand with a neighbour’s daughter and less than three years later in July 2001 he became a father again. Fourteen months later his sixth child, a boy, arrived and occasionally Jamie gives some money to the boy’s mother but does not contribute towards his other children. A few months later he fathered a seventh son and shortly after that in 2002 another woman gave birth to his eighth child, another boy. In 2004 Jamie was in new a relationship and together they have three children – a seven-year-old, a two-year-old and a 13-month-old baby. By December 2007 Jamie’s tenth child had arrived and five months later his 11th son was born. Jamie, who has five siblings, also fathered a child with an Australian woman who took their son back with her after she’d given birth. Lorraine regularly keeps in contact with her 14 grandchildren and often meets with their maternal grandparents but she feels humiliated because her son is refusing to raise or support his own children. He often spends Christmas day flitting between each of the women and will sometimes spend his money buying lavish gifts rather than buying food and clothes. Other relatives have pleaded with him to stop fathering children but they believe he is addicted. Addicted? GTFOHWTBS! Can’t they arrest this fool and “fix” him already??? Or, here’s a brilliant idea: ladies, stop laying down with this dirty mother-maker! More On Bossip! ‘X Factor’ Judges’ Home Round Ends

Top 32 contestants vie for spots in the top 16. By Adam Graham Paula Abdul with guest judge Pharrell on the “X Factor” on Sunday Photo: FOX The second half of the final 32 “X Factor” acts performed in front of the judges at their respective homes on Sunday’s episode, vying for spots in the top 16. Those 16 will compete in the show’s live episodes and ultimately battle it out for a $5 million recording contract. The judges were joined by celebrity consultants for this round. Rihanna partnered with L.A. Reid at his home in the Hamptons to evaluate the boys; Pharrell Williams helped Paula Abdul critique the groups in Santa Barbara, California; and Enrique Iglesias assisted Nicole Scherzinger while she evaluated the over-30s at her home in Malibu, California. Over in France, Simon Cowell was joined by a team of industry professionals to assess the girls after his original co-judging choice, Mariah Carey, was detained due to a hurricane. First up for the girls was early favorite Jazzlyn Little, who, despite her imminent stage fright, made a lasting impression early on with her rendition of Mary J. Blige’s “I’m Goin’ Down.” Her nerves seemed to have gotten the better of her again prior to performing, though she pulled through on a stepped-up version of Gloria Gaynor’s disco classic “I Will Survive.” Impressed, Cowell said the 16-year-old “put herself back in the frame,” though vocal coach Savan Kotecha was rougher, dismissing the performance as “a little high school talent show.” Rachel Crow is too young to even enter a high school talent show, yet the 13-year-old sang a resonant version of the Backstreet Boys’ “I Want It That Way” on Cowell’s back patio. Cowell called it “unbelievable” and sent Crow off with a “well done, you,” which had the spiral-haired teenager beaming. Tiah Tolliver, the 20-year-old Washington singer for whom Cowell has fought hard in the competition, put a showy spin on Blackstreet’s “No Diggity,” which seemed to divide Cowell’s aides, though Cowell argued yet again, “I always thought she fits in this show.” But he didn’t have to do any convincing of the merit of 19-year-old Melanie Amaro, whose take on Michael Jackson’s “Will You Be There” caused Cowell to mock-faint on his patio couch. There was no mock-fainting going on with Rihanna, but she was clearly intrigued by Chris Rene, the garbage collector and recovering addict who performed “Everyday People” for her and L.A. Reid at Reid’s picturesque estate. “He has something very special. I want to know more about him,” Rihanna told Reid, helping confirm Rene’s status as one of the show’s early frontrunners. Ri-Ri was also intrigued by 20-year-old Marcus Canty, who sang K-Ci & JoJo’s “All My Life” directly to her, though she said she was unconvinced of his potential star power. Rihanna was less impressed with Brennin Hunt, the 26-year-old with the soap-star good looks, whom she called “corny” and said he gave off a ” ’90s boy band” vibe following his performance of Corinne Bailey Rae’s “Like a Star.” She liked 30-year-old country singer Tim Cifers, who performed a twangy version of Luther Vandross’ touching “Dance With My Father,” though L.A. Reid was disappointed by him. “I wanted so much more from him,” he said. In the over-30 group, Josh Krajcik — whom producers somewhat hilariously insist on referring to as a “burrito maker” — caused Iglesias and Scherzinger to debate his potential star power. The husky singer “is not your typical star,” Iglesias said, and Scherzinger agreed he’s “a little rough around the edges.” But both seemed pleased with his version of “The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face,” and the “burrito maker” seems poised to live another day in the competition. Meanwhile, 42-year-old wedding DJ Tiger Budbill seemed to be making a direct plea to the judges with his version of Solomon Burke’s “Don’t Give Up on Me,” which hit home but also had Scherzinger questioning his marketability. (Didn’t she notice his name is Tiger Budbill ? What more do you need?) Christa Collins, meanwhile, a former child star who claimed to be the prototype for Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, sang an awkward version of Radiohead’s “No Surprises” that left Scherzinger wanting more “pain” and “emotion” from her. And from Scherzinger’s perspective, nerves got the best of 60-year-old LeRoy Bell during his rendition of “Make You Feel My Love,” which could hurt his chances going forward. In the groups category, the standouts were the Stereo Hoggz, the Houston group whom Pharrell praised as mixing Motown soul with Ginuwine swagger, and Intensity, the group of 10 outcast solo artists who were put together as a group by the judges. They performed an exciting mash-up of the Ting Tings’ “That’s Not My Name” and Hall & Oates’ “You Make My Dreams Come True.” On Tuesday’s “X Factor,” the top 16 acts will be chosen, leaving the other half to pack their bags and say goodbye. Who do you think should make the top 16? Let us know in the comments! Related Videos MTV News Extended Play: ‘X Factor’ Judges Simon Cowell, L.A. Reid

‘X Factor’: Rihanna Calls Brian Bradley ‘A Mini J. Cole’

Enrique Iglesias and Pharrell Williams also help out judges, while Mariah Carey can’t make it across the pond. By Adam Graham Rihanna and L.A. Reid Photo: FOX Half of the 32 “X Factor” semifinalists performed on Thursday’s (October 13) episode, which was delayed by a day due to Fox’s coverage of Major League Baseball . The contestants ventured off to their mentors’ luxurious homes and strutted their stuff in front of them, each vying for one of 16 spots in the finals. In three out of four cases, the judges were joined by a super-special celebrity guest: In Santa Barbara, California, Paula Abdul was accompanied by Pharrell Williams ; Enrique Iglesias was coupled with Nicole Scherzinger in Malibu, California; and Rihanna was by L.A. Reid’s side at his cozy estate in the Hamptons, New York. Meanwhile, over in France, Simon Cowell was stood up by Mariah Carey , whose plane was grounded by Hurricane Irene. When it was time to make decisions, a vocal coach and a team of music producers were there to give their impressions to Cowell, whose backyard, it should be noted, houses an absolutely enormous swimming pool. Simon’s pool aside, it was Rihanna who was the episode’s MVP. Not only did she help provide Reid feedback on the contestants, but three of them performed her songs, including Seattle crooner Phillip Lomax, who took RiRi by surprise with his laid-back, Sinatra-style take on “Don’t Stop the Music.” Other singers taking on Rihanna songs were Temecula, California, Bieber-hair-sporting brother duo the Brewer Boys, who did a Tejano version of “Only Girl in the World,” and James Kenney, who took on the emotionally charged “Russian Roulette.” As a judge, RiRi seemed most taken by pint-size 14-year-old rapper Brian “Astro” Bradley, whom she compared to “a mini J. Cole.” And the brimming-with-confidence Bradley didn’t hesitate to inform RiRi of his future plans with her, telling her frankly, “We will be doing a collab one day.” The Carey-less Cowell is tasked with mentoring the girls in the competition, and the standouts included 14-year-old Drew Ryniewicz, whose slowed, hushed take on Roxette’s “It Must Have Been Love” was called “magic” by the tight-T-shirted one, and rugby bruiser Caitlyn Koch, whose “Will You Love Me Tomorrow” caused Cowell to praise her pitch and tone. Cowell also enjoyed Simone Battle’s piano-ballad version of the Beatles’ “Help,” but he seemed less sure about Tora Woloshin’s electro version of “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction”: “It doesn’t quite get to me,” a puzzled Cowell explained. In the groups category, Salt Lake City, Utah, trio the Anser impressed Paula and Pharrell with their version of Pink’s “Perfect,” though Pharrell seemed perplexed by a group member’s decision to leave his striking red-framed glasses off during the performance. Virginia Beach quartet 4Shore were praised for their sound take on Brownstone’s “If You Love Me,” though Pharrell suggested the group needs to “dirty up their style a little bit.” And both the judges and the members of Lakoda Rayne seemed to agree something was “off” during their performance of Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way,” not surprising, considering the group was Frankenstein’d together by the judges and had never previously performed together as a unit. In the category of the Olds — sorry, the “Over 30s” — 53-year-old Elaine Gibbs and 42-year-old Stacy Francis stood out with their versions of Oasis’ “Stop Crying Your Heart Out” and Prince’s “Purple Rain,” respectively. (Of the latter’s, which seemingly echoed throughout the canyons of Malibu, Iglesias marveled, “I think the neighbors heard that.”) But the most memorable performance (for all the wrong reasons) came from formerly homeless 49-year-old Dexter Haygood, who strutted like Mick Jagger and kicked his legs in the air like David Lee Roth while screaming his way through Beyonc

Miss France Throws Salt At New Miss Universe, Miss Angola

It looks like the new Miss Universe has a hater on her hands! After being the first black woman to win Miss Universe in 13 years, Miss France has some not so kind things to say about Miss Angola: “She was the only girl I didn’t know very well. We didn’t see her much; she was very discreet. She was often in jeans and not wearing makeup. We were all surprised by her win. Many girls made efforts that were not rewarded. I don’t know, something is missing in her temperament. The fact that the competition was held in Brazil surely played a role.” How very lady like… GET IT STRAIGHT Africa’s Leila Lopes Wins “Miss Universe” Title! [PHOTOS] Spotted @ Necole Bitchie.com

‘Killer Elite’ Is ‘More Grown-Up,’ Jason Statham Says

Also starring Robert De Niro and Clive Owen, ‘This is a thinking man’s action movie,’ star tells MTV News. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Jason Statham Photo: MTV News Jason Statham has got nothing against skull-cracking, explosions-for-explosions-sake action flicks. The guy made his name with “The Transporter,” after all, and he’s getting set for a second go-round opposite Sylvester Stallone in “The Expendables 2.” But “Killer Elite” (September 23), despite a title that suggests it’s another in a long line of empty-headed, Statham-starring adventures, is an altogether different creation. Based on a true story that spans the globe from France to Australia, the film stars Statham as an ex-special ops agent on a mission to save his mentor (Robert De Niro), who’s being held captive by a secretive military clan and its menacing leader (Clive Owen). There’s a grittiness simply not seen in much of Statham’s previous work. “This is something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time,” Statham told MTV News at the Toronto International Film Festival. “This is a thinking man’s action movie. It’s a bit more grown-up than things in the past I’ve done. In order to do movies like this, I have to go through and do a few of those as well. There’s a lot more going on.” That extends from the words on the page to the guy behind the camera to the dudes mixing it up with Statham when writer/director Gary McKendry yells, “Action!” “The quality of the script, the quality of the filmmaker — those are two elements that attract living legends like Bob De Niro and Clive Owen,” Statham said. “Once I start boxing around with those two, the whole quality of what we’re doing changes. It’s a big step up.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Killer Elite.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .
