Despite singers like Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood being discovered on television and making a name for themselves, we haven’t gotten to see that same process happen within hip-hop….well, not yet at least. VH1 did take a stab at making a similar hip-hop competition show with The-Dream , Rick Ross , and Lenny S. just last year, though it didn’t quite produce any long-lasting stars like we might have hoped. But if anyone can save the day, it’s Netflix–and they’re coming through to create a brand new hip-hop competition series titled Rhythm + Flow . The popular streaming service has landed an interesting trio of talent to judge for the show: Cardi B , Chance the Rapper , and T.I. Rhythm + Flow is going to be a ten-part hip-hop talent search set to debut in 2019. This upcoming project has an impressive musical pedigree from the hosts alone, but on top of the upfront talent, the show is also hailing from John Legend and his Get Lifted Film Co. Not only can we expect to see some new breakout talent on the series, but there’s bound to be some absolutely hilarious moments as well. Cardi B is obviously no stranger to reality television; her absolutely insane rise to fame makes a lot of us forget that it’s only been 2 years since she appeared on VH1’s Love & Hip Hop: New York . Chance the Rapper has also been expanding his portfolio beyond just rapping recently, starring in 2018 horror-comedy Slice and hosting an episode of Saturday Night Live . As for T.I., we all know that he is a reality fixture of his own–appearing in a variety of vehicles across the Viacom platforms, including his own series with his family T.I. & Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle on VH1. Rhythm + Flow comes to Netflix from executive producers John Legend, Jeff Gaspin, Jesse Collins, Nikki Boella, Jeff Pollack, Mike Jackson, and Ty Stiklorius. The series intends to find and foster undiscovered hip-hop talent across multiple cities. Cardi B, Chance the Rapper, and T.I. will serve as the three main judges, though additional artists and industry personalities will be announced in the run-up to the premiere. To think that some crazed person might be ginned up to think my husband was a threat to the country’s security; and to know that my children, every day, had to go to a school, and soccer games, parties, and travel; to think that this person would not take into account that this was not a game—that’s something that I want the country to understand. I want the country to take this in, in a way I didn’t say out loud, but I am saying now. It was reckless, it put my family in danger, and it wasn’t true. And he knew it wasn’t true.” On no longer living in the White House and the simple freedoms that come with that: So here I am in my new home, just me and Bo and Sunny, and I do a simple thing. That was one of the things I brought into the White House—that strict code of, You gotta catch up with us, dude. This is when we’re having dinner. Yes, you’re president, but you can bring your butt from the Oval Office and sit down and talk to your children. Because children bring solace. They let you turn your sights off the issues of the day and focus on saving the tigers. That was one of Malia’s primary goals; she advocated throughout his presidency to make sure the tigers were saved. And hearing about what happened with what school friend. Immersing yourself in the reality and the beauty of your children and your family. Plus, on the East Wing side, our motto was, we have to do everything excellently. If we do something—because the First Lady doesn’t have to do anything.” On the importance of remaining optimistic in these tumultuous times: “Yes. We have to feel that optimism. For the kids. We’re setting the table for them, and we can’t hand them crap. We have to hand them hope. Progress isn’t made through fear. We’re experiencing that right now. Fear is the coward’s way of leadership. Toya Wright, Reginae and the rest of their family visited brothers Rudy and Josh’s gravesites to honor them and celebrate the strength of their family. Just two years ago, Josh and Rudy were gunned down in Louisian a. At the time, Toya who lives in Atlanta happened to be in town hosting a club when she got a call her brother Rudy was shot. When she pulled up to the scene, Toya says she saw her mom there crying in an ambulance, and she found out two of her brothers had been killed. The cast of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation was tasked with its most important mission of all-time this week: Finding a new home to crash in for awhile. As you’ll find out below, the residence needed to include at least one prominent feature — and as you’ll also find out below, Snooki can really drink! First, however, she and JWOWW paid a visit to an extremely pregnant Deena Cortese. She explained to her friends how she recently had a scare and was subsequently ordered to be on bed rest until her next checkup. Describing the “scariest moment” of her life, Deena said she began bleeding randomly about halfway through her pregnancy. She assured her fellow MTV stars that she was fine now, but she would be unable to join them on the aforementioned house search. “I totally get it because I was pregnant once,” a sad Snooki told the camera, possibly forgetting that she actually has two kids. From there, it was Deena and JWOWW’s turn to fill Snooki in on everything that went down in Atlantic City a few days before, including Ronnie Ortiz-Magro’s insane blowup with Jen Harley over … well… nothing at all, really. There was also the matter of the Staten Island love triangle that formed among Vinny Guadagnino, Angelina Pivarnick and Angelina’s fiance, Chris. Speaking of that latter storyline: In a later scene, Angelina was telling Chris about her forthcoming stay in the new Shore House when Vinny popped up in conversation. Chris was pretty chill about him at first, but then… not so much. “When you were out having your guys’ day, did you guys talk about anything serious?” Angelina asked. “Vinny was saying something like, ‘You seem like a normal guy, so what are you gonna marry Angelina for?'” Chris responded. “Why’s he asking you that?” Angelina asked prior to answering her own question. “Because he secretly loves me. And you know what? I don’t blame him for loving me because he should love me.” “How do we keep coming back to the same topic?” Chris shot back. “Maybe you’re in love with him .” “Chris, shut up,” Angelina said. “Ew! Gross! Hell no. You’re an ass.” But enough about them. We now turn to the home Snooki found on Craigslist, a lovely looking abode that was only missing one key element: a beach! Ronnie met up with his pal there and the two proceeded to get totally sloshed. After Snooki failed to get new intel out of Ronnie about Jen, she headed to a club and danced up a storm. She also convinced Angelina to go straight from the airport to this establishment, leading to her hilariously showing up with, like, 9 suitcases. “Dren has arrived at dinner,” Vinny says during a meal that featured Snooki choosing to drink instead of eat seafood. “I haven’t seen Dren make an appearance at dinner in a long time. Now the vacation has begun,” he added of his pal’s drunken personality. “I’m drunk bitch. What do you want from me?” Snooki replied. Nothing else. We want nothing else from you at all, Snook. Ghosts from the past roamed the halls of Seattle Grace Memorial on Thursday’s episode of Grey’s Anatomy as Día de Muertos weighed heavily on the minds of our favorite characters. It was all thanks to a girl named Flo who was in the hospital for surgery, so her family decided to celebrate their tradition, and it resulted in a lot of blasts from the past. Before that, Richard pulled Meredith aside to let her know that one of his friends told him her father was dying of cancer and was in a hospice. Gulp. This threw Meredith for a loop as she tried to conclude whether her deadbeat father deserved to be graced with her presence one last time. As such, she turned to Maggie because they’re as close as ever, but Meredith quickly realized the journey ahead was one she had to travel on her own. Cece set her up on another date, and she wasted no time in talking about her issues with her father, and it rendered the whole romance a dud. Both Link and DeLuca were in a battle for Meredith’s heart, so they were especially pissed to learn that she was still dating. After embracing Día de Muertos, Meredith exited the hospital, but there were ghosts from the past walking the halls. There was Derek, Lexie, George and even Meredith’s mother, Ellis. Meredith somehow found herself getting closer to Link after visiting Alex instead of her father. Elsewhere, Miranda and Jo worked together with a woman who was planning her funeral because she was under the impression she was not getting the liver she needed in time. A patient died, and Miranda decided to try and salvage the liver from his body because he was a match with the woman who needed the liver. Despite the liver functioning, Alex shut the whole thing down, claiming that he couldn’t allow it to go ahead in case there were issues down the line that put the hospital under scrutiny. But Bailey and Jo went ahead with the surgery thinking they were saving a life, and that they did. The surgery went well, and the woman survived with a new lease on life. Jo thought Alex was going to flip out, but he loved that she was right and they got hot and heavy in his office. Elsewhere, Betty went missing, and it threw a wrench in Teddy’s plan to tell Owen all about her carrying his child. Yes, this storyline is going to be dragged on until the midseason finale, you guys! Amelia, Teddy, and Owen worked together to find the teenager, but their mission was unsuccessful. They ultimately gave up when Amelia had to go to a meeting because she thought she was being triggered. The mystery of Betty’s whereabouts will continue on next Thursday’s installment. After a countdown, guests used the poppers that shot out pink confetti—although Porsha’s malfunctioned and blew out blue. “Now I’m totally excited. It’s official. PJ is here! It’s a girl,” said Porsha. Porsha also rocked blue hair with light pink tips to mark the gender reveal. If you’re wondering why Porsha keeps calling the baby PJ there’s a simple explanation. White is right.” She didn’t stop there. “I know I’m a Caucasian because When I wake up in the morning I just have such a great life and that my hair is so perfect; my skin isn’t ugly; and I’m not fat also, which is also really African American thing,” she said. “So, like I’m just nowhere near like them, and plus they’re so thug and criminal — I can’t relate.” When Dr. Phil tried to explain she was not white, Treasure ranted, “I know I’m biologically white, I feel it through my veins and through my blood. According to the New York Times when President Trump calls his friends for their takes on the horrible job he is doing on one of his iPhones the Chinese and Russians are listening. What they are getting as the report claims is “invaluable insight” on Trump and how to “best work the president and affect administration policy.” Bruh. The report also claimed last year that that Orange Menace is supposed to swap out his phones every 30 days but rarely does because of “inconvenience.” The NYT’s eye-opening story also brings up an incident when Trump left his cellphone in a golf cart at his Bedminster, N.J., golf club causing a frantic scramble to recover it according to two people familiar with the situation. Per The New York Times : “The current and former officials said they have also determined that China is seeking to use what it is learning from the calls — how Mr. Trump thinks, what arguments tend to sway him and to whom he is inclined to listen — to keep a trade war with the United States from escalating further. In what amounts to a marriage of lobbying and espionage, the Chinese have pieced together a list of the people with whom Mr. Trump regularly speaks in hopes of using them to influence the president, the officials said.” “Among those on the list are Stephen A. Schwarzman, the Blackstone Group chief executive who has endowed a master’s program at Tsinghua University in Beijing, and Steve Wynn, the former Las Vegas casino magnate who used to own a lucrative property in Macau.” As expected Trump called the report a “fake story” and claimed he liked only using “hard lines” in a Tweet sent from his iPhone. Go figure. The New York Times has a new Fake Story that now the Russians and Chinese (glad they finally added China) are listening to all of my calls on cellphones. We regret to inform you that the tumultuous relationship between Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and Jen Harley is still a thing. And it seems to be getting more dangerous and destructive with each passing week. Ronnie posted the above photo to his Instagram story moments ago, and it seems he’s implying that Harley once again physically assaulted him: “Sorry for lying to my friends and family,” Magro wrote on the pic. “Sometimes u love people so much [you’re] willing to lie and the hurt the people that love u the most to protect.” He tagged the pic @JenX, and while that’s not Harley’s Instagram handle, the message Ronnie seems to be sending is still pretty clear. Sadly, this has been an ongoing pattern in Ronnie and Jen’s relationship. The drama first came to a head back in June, when Jen dragged Ronnie with her car , a situation that was documented on recent episodes of Jersey Shore Family Vacation . It’s a frightening situation, but the good news is that Ronnie and Jen’s latest posts seem to indicate that they’ve finally called it quits. “Closure is a scam. Don’t text, don’t care. Just move on,” Ronnie posted on Instagram on Tuesday. For her part, Harley unleashed on Ron in reaction to a follower’s question about her relationship: “He’s lying,” Jen wrote. “I’ll prove it again, along with the car thing. I can’t deal with a drug addict anymore. It’s getting so out of control.” Hilariously, just days ago, Jen was reportedly griping to friends about how angry she is over Ron’s friends and their refusal to approve of his relationship: “Jen is really hurt that people aren’t being supportive of her and Ronnie,” a source told Hollywood Life. “There are times when she feels like everyone is against her and Ronnie and they are trying to tear away their happiness, just waiting for them to fail. It breaks her heart.” The insider went on to describe how hurt Jen is by the continued skepticism of Ron’s Shore housemates: “If she and Ronnie were fighting all the time she would understand all the negativity, but she swears they’re doing really well and are more in love than they’ve ever been,” says the tipster. “Nothing is perfect — they still have arguments — but nothing out of the normal because they’re both working on it. “They are doing therapy together and are really committed to working out their issues, because they want their daughter to grow up in a happy home.” The source went on to describe exactly why Ronnie’s castmates are so concerned: “Everybody’s worried things will spiral out of control before they finally decide they’re over for good,” the insider says.
