It’s been less than 48 hours since the Big Brother 13 premiere , and Evel Dick Donato is already out. Details are scarce, but apparently it’s for good. Dick, whose surprise return to the show he won five seasons ago shocked the new house guests, had to leave the CBS show for “personal reasons.” The network wouldn’t specify the exact reason, but CBS says “His departure will be addressed on the episode to be broadcast Wednesday, July 13.” Along with his estranged daughter Daniele, Dick was invited back to compete on BB13 this summer as one of three “dynamic duos” from past seasons. Daniele will continue to participate in the show, and thanks to Evel Dick’s departure (which really throws off the new format), was given a “golden key.” This guarantees that Daniele can not be eliminated in the next four weeks, in keeping with the somewhat confusing rules laid out in the premiere. The fallout from Dick’s exit – observed by some astute fans who noted his absence from the show’s online feeds – will surely be felt in the game. Whatever the reason, we’re sad he’s gone and wish him well. [Photo: WENN.com]
Looks like Obama’s former Chief of Staff has evolved faster than his former boss. Rahm Emanuel used to get all shy when it came to addressing gay marriage even conversationally. Here’s that Paula Baredas chick I posted pictures of last week, giving us another good look at that tight little body of hers. I like it, I still don’t know who the hell she is, but I like it. I mentioned last time that her name sounded Spanish for ‘The Bare Ass’, unfortunately we’ve yet to see her living up to that name. Don’t get me wrong, these are a good start, but this just isn’t going to cut it for much longer, it’s time to step up your game. It’s summer time, where are the bikini pictures? 50 Cent, Trey Songz, Snoop Dogg surprise fans at Power 106 show, which also featured Big Sean, Jeremih, LMFAO, the Rej3ctz and T-Pain. By Felicia “The Poetess” Morris Wiz Khalifa at Power 106’s Powerhouse 2011 on Saturday Photo: MTV News LOS ANGELES — Radio station Power 106 held their annual sold-out Powerhouse concert at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, on Saturday night, bringing together multiple generations of hip-hop stars, from West Coast OG Ice Cube to L.A.’s latest dance-craze instigators the Rej3ctz to a chart-topping visitor from out east, Wiz Khalifa . The Rej3ctz opened the show with a high-energy performance and later danced onstage with the very colorful LMFAO as they performed “Shots.” Sporting a white T-shirt and bright yellow cargo shorts, T-Pain took it up a couple notches with a string of his hits and left fans fully charged with DJ Khaled’s “All I Do Is Win.” The evening had a couple of surprises on deck: 50 Cent joined Jeremih on their collabo “Down on Me,” which Jeremih said was the first time they’ve ever performed the song together in concert. Compton’s own DJ Quik gave loyal fans what they came for, and when Lupe Fiasco pulled young crooner Trey Songz onstage during his set, screaming concertgoers raised the decibels to new heights. The Don Mega himself, Ice Cube, brought out his old N.W.A bandmate MC Ren on the song “Hello.” “It makes you feel good, being in the game as long as I have,” Ice Cube told MTV News before the show. “I done went from new school to old school and still here. You can’t do nothing but be humbled by the fact that so many rappers is gone. … I’m still here after all this time.” Cube was also the most-anticipated act of the evening by fellow performers including the headliner, Wiz Khalifa. “This is my first time performing at Powerhouse, my first time performing at an event this big, so I feel elated,” Wiz told MTV News before his set. “I’m really excited about seeing Cube.” But Khalifa had another trick up his sleeve when it came to honoring L.A.’s hip-hop roots: He brought out his “High School” co-star Snoop Dogg for one last Powerhouse surprise, no doubt leaving 18,000 fans feeling like they got their money’s worth. ‘I wasn’t gonna write it as a dis song to try to go at their necks,’ Dee-1 tells Mixtape Daily of his breakout single. By Rob Markman Dee-1 Photo: MTV News Fire Starter: Dee-1 Dee-1 is no dummy. The New Orleans native and Louisiana State University grad picked up rapping as a hobby in his college dorm room and devised a plan to get paid. It may have taken a little longer than expected but the former middle-school teacher left the classroom and has learned a new hustle through hip-hop. “I first started wanting to rap as just a hobby when I first started college. I didn’t really have anything better to do with my time, so I was like, ‘Let me just freestyle around my dorm room with my boys,’ ” Dee-1 told Mixtape Daily. “But once I realized I was good at it, I started to take it more serious. I was like, ‘You know what? I have a voice that can be used to entertain people but also to inspire change, in a good way.’ ” Dee-1 took his yearning for change and applied it to his 2010 outspoken single “Jay, 50 & Weezy.” In the song, the young MC holds an imaginary conversation with Hov, 50 Cent and Lil Wayne, questioning their subject matter. The track helped put him on the map partly because of the sheer audacity that he displayed by calling out three of the game’s biggest rappers, but mostly because of the song’s strong message. “I wrote that record when I was still teaching middle school, so every single day, I’m face to face with the kids who are influenced by these brothers. I see how much they want to walk like them, talk like them, just be like them,” he explained. Through his experience as a teacher, Dee-1 saw firsthand that rappers are in fact role models. Bold? Yes, but Dee stops short of labeling the track a dis record. “I don’t know if you can tell by looking at me but I’m not an intimidating type of guy or violent dude, so I wasn’t gonna write it as a dis song to try to go at their necks,” he said. “But I’m also not a scary man; I’m very bold and very confident in the person that God made me.” That confidence has translated to his work. In March, Dee-1 dropped his fifth mixtape, I Hope They Hear Me, Vol. 2, to much online fanfare and he recently toured with Killer Mike, Young Dro and Pac Div. The grind is paying off so far, and the N.O. representative has already taken meetings with Universal, Jive and Atlantic, though he’s in no rush to sign. “The patience comes from having a purpose, and my purpose is to have longevity in the game,” he said. “If I was desperate for a check right now, like if I just wanted a $100,000 to put in my pocket, I might have signed by this time. But I’m not that desperate and I’m not hurting for money.” Smart man! For other artists featured in Mixtape Daily, check out Mixtape Daily Headlines . If I had to choose which one of the “Basketball Wives” were my favorite “wife,” I’d pick Tami Roman every single time. She real, she’s funny, she’s witty and she just straight up don’t take NO bull. Period! And what’s more is that the other cast members pretty much know not to try her by now, all except for Meeka but she is soon to learn not to go there. In light of all of her hilarious and down to earth quotes, I’ve created a post dedicated to Tami’s top 6 quotables. Check them out below: 6. “This does not define me, I don’t move from one player to the next. What I do is establish my own.” This was Tami’s response to Evelyn at the reunion show for season 2 where Evelyn said Tami knew her and Kenny were together on the low, she just acted as if she didn’t to establish her “spot” on the show. Needless to say Tami, for once, didn’t give into Evelyn’s advances and handled her comment with class. 5. “Let me show you how cheap talk is around this m*therf*cker!” During season 2 when Jennifer tried to act bourgeoisie off the fact that she’d “never seen a food stamp in her life” and tried to get buck with Tami, she was so close to setting it off! 4. “So then I don’t need to tell you that I f*cked Chad.” This was especially hilarious from last year’s reunion show as the person’s face on the receiving end of the comment, Evelyn, was absolutely priceless. 3. “You’re only relevant cause I’m talking to you b*tch!” In the heat of Tami and Meeka’s huge blow up last night, Tami let it be known to Meeka that she tries way too hard and is completely irrelevant. That’s definitely the truth, because no one ever even heard of this kid before the show. 2. “I do not care how Evelyn, Jennifer and Shaunie smile in your face. They do not like you.” This had to be one of the realest things ANY one of the BW’s has said in the history of the show. Evelyn, Jennifer and Shaunie are the fakest people ever, that’s their thing. Smile in your face and snicker at you behind your back. 1. “I don’t give a f*ck if you buy every shoe in Dulce, you ain’t never gonna be Evelyn!” Another shot at Meeka, Tami was full of quotables in that one argument with Meeka alone. It also made me take notice to the fact that Meeka definitely does try to be another Evelyn, as if that’s the person to be or something. I could go on and on with quotes from Tami, but unfortunately I have to stop somewhere, clearly Tami is not to be messed with. Who is your favorite “wife” is and why? We all know that being liked by your boyfriend’s friends is a plus. What better security is there than knowing that his friends aren’t actively trying to change his mind about you? One of my friends is so used to being invited to her boyfriend’s “guys’ nights”. Whether it’s getting wings at the local dive bar or being rowdy and watching the game on someone’s couch, she’s always been a “guys’ girl”. The guy that she recently started dating, however, likes to separate his “guy time” and “girlfriend time”. BUT, this doesn’t mean that she needs to kick him to the curb and find a more romantic guy. We talked and tried to figure out what the right amount of “bro-mance” time versus “romance” time is. The first thing I did was explain to her the importance of “bro-mances” to men. Just because they’re spending time with their guys does not mean that they are going to break up with you. There’s no need to constantly call and text him asking about his plans. Having time to “bro out” can actually be extremely healthy for relationships. You have more to talk about, and let’s be real- you’d rather him be hanging out with his best guy friends than getting drinks with the new lady at work. But how much “bro-mance” is too much ? When he is choosing to play poker with the guys 5 days out of the week, it’s time to step in and ask for a little more “loving time”. If you can squeeze yourself into a game of black jack with him and the guys, that’s great! But don’t go dealing cards where they don’t belong. You don’t want to start showing up everywhere and have his guys get annoyed of you. When my friend showed up at one of the guys’ golf games, she felt completely out of place and definitely heard the snide comments: “uhh dude, what’s she doing here?” Most importantly, keep in mind what his “bro-mance” time can mean for you. Use this time to pamper yourself or plan a girls’ night out . Just because he wants to hang out with the guys on Friday night doesn’t mean that you need to stay in by yourself. The most healthy relationships have a balance between romantic time and friend time. What are your thoughts on “bro-mances”? How do you stay in a healthy relationship while still giving him room to breathe? How much room is too much room? Fill us in! Nicki Minaj & Britney Spears Get Into Altercation At Femme Fatale Tour?!
