The Last of Us Truck Ambush Trailer Draws You In

Naughty Dog’s first post-Uncharted game, The Last of Us, is still on approach for the end of this year, promising to bring Naughty Dog’s signature cinematic style to a post-apocalyptic father/daughter tale. Even though the Earth is supposedly covered with whatever sort of zombie has been cooked up for this game, the real danger in these situations is other people, as is aptly demonstrated by the Truck… Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : GamerSushi Discovery Date : 16/05/2012 01:10 Number of articles : 2

When The Checks Stop Coming In: BET’s “The Game” Saying Bye Bye To Tia Mowry And Pooch Hall

Say it ain’t so! Word on the street is that the two actors who once had top billing on “The Game” have been let go: According to a well placed source, HipHollywood.com has learned exclusively that Tia Mowry and Pooch Hall will NOT return to BET’s highest rated show, The Game. It will be interesting to see how the show moves forward from here because their characters Derwin and Melaie are central to The Game’s plot. Our source also added that both are very busy right now, Hall is working on another project, while Mowry is still filming her Style network reality show. The hope is that the two actors will have a chance to come back and end their storyline, but for now all we know is that they won’t be back for season 6. It almost like these two realized BET turned sugar to isht again and left on their own accord. Source

‘Twilight’ Fans Want Kristen Stewart’s Bodyguard To Protect Them

‘People now refer to Kristen Stewart’s bodyguard as ‘HBG,’ ‘ co-creator of ‘Kristen Stewart’s Hot Bodyguard’ Facebook page says. By Kara Warner Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” Photo: Summit Entertainment Full disclosure about my love for “Twilight”: I don’t so much love the books and movies as much as I completely and totally adore the franchise’s loyal, enthusiastic, entertaining fans. Really it’s their passion and dedication that keeps me interested in the whole thing as we inch closer and closer to the release of the final film, “Breaking Dawn – Part 2.” That’s why I’ve decided to dedicate this week’s “Twilight” Tuesday to one of the many groups of fans with whom I’ve become acquainted with over the last few years, Kristen Stewart’s Hot Bodyguard , more specifically, the three lovely ladies who birthed the creative and entertaining concept: Lynsey Jacob, Sarah Morrill and Jennifer Kelley. “Kristen Stewart’s Hot Bodyguard” is a Facebook group dedicated to, you guessed it, Kristen Stewart ‘s hot bodyguard. The origin of their popular group (3,000 members and growing!) can be traced to first glimpses of said bodyguard during the “Eclipse” press tour, followed by an in-person encounter at Stewart’s NYC promotion for “Welcome to the Rileys,” and then an excellent bit of brainstorming during a walk to the subway that begot the term “HBG” (Hot Bodyguard) and the Facebook page. Since then, the ladies have kept close tabs on their man via photos, fellow fans and making the occasional trip to a major event. (I was lucky enough to meet Jacob, Morrill and Kelley at such an event, last year’s “Breaking Dawn – Part 1” premiere. “The goal is always to get a wave,” Jacob told MTV News of the most memorable aspects of their HBG sightings. “It’s exciting. Another one that always cracks me up is watching all of the tweets about HBG when there’s an event going on. When he wasn’t at the Kids’ Choice Awards, people were freaking out. And these tweets are from around the world! Half the time it’s in another language.” “I actually really enjoy making graphics and fun little [themed] pictures for the page,” Morrill added. “I also designed the shirts that we made for the ‘Breaking Dawn’ premiere last year and have already started working on some ideas for this year’s shirts and other swag. Other than that, it’s always cool to see how excited the fans get when we post new pictures or videos of HBG, especially because I’m just as excited to see them as they are! We will be representing Team HBG to its fullest at the ‘Breaking Dawn -Part 2’ premiere in L.A. in November and are excited to meet new fans and see some old ones from the premiere last year.” One thing to point out about these ladies is that they don’t take themselves too seriously. Yes, they are dedicated fans, but they also just want to continue to have fun with the concept. “When Stephenie Meyer grabbed a hold of our HBG heads on a stick and took photos with them, that was so cool,” Jacobs recalled of the author embracing their “fan art” at last year’s premiere. “We were always worried that people would think we were crazy instead of just creative fans, but overall, the page and the whole concept has been really well-received.” “My dream for the group is for it to continue for as long as possible, maybe even until a gray-haired HBG is beating away the paparazzi with his cane in order to protect Kristen,” Morrill joked. “Truthfully, when we started this page a year and half ago, we never could have imagined what it would become. People around the world now refer to Kristen Stewart’s bodyguard as “HBG.” We did that. Stephenie Meyer knows who we are. Kristen mentioned our page in an article for British GQ last year. The awesome folks at MTV think we’re cool. It really doesn’t get much better than that! The only thing I could imagine that would put a cherry on top of this entire experience is to one day be able to change the group’s profile picture to one of the three of us with Kristen and HBG.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . Jay-Z Used Old Subway Signs For New Brooklyn Nets Logo

Black-and-white crest is ‘a throwback to Brooklyn and what we’re about,’ Jay tells MTV News. By Rob Markman Brooklyn Nets’ logo Photo: NBA Jay-Z once fancied himself the black Branch Rickey, the man who broke the athletic color barrier and signed Jackie Robinson to the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947. Sure, Hov used poetic license when he spit the line on 2009’s “Brooklyn Go Hard,” but now that Mr. Carter is part of the brain trust that will transplant the NBA’s Nets to his native BK, the God MC has surely changed the game. At the end of April, the Brooklyn Nets unveiled their new logo, a Jigga-approved black-and-white crest, which bucks the flash and pizzazz typical of most NBA logos these days. “I wanted to make it really classic and strong; a throwback to Brooklyn and what we’re about,” Jay told MTV News on Monday after his press conference where he announced his upcoming two-day Made in America music festival in Philadelphia. Since his 1996 debut album ( Reasonable Doubt ) Jay has stood as an ambassador for New York City’s largest borough. Though the music mogul has gone on to acquire life’s finer things, through songs like “Brooklyn’s Finest,” “Where I’m From” and his #1 hit “Empire State of Mind,” Hova has always rapped about the darker side of his hometown as well. The struggle eventually breeds strength and it was the strength that Jay hoped to capture in the new Nets design. “It’s real gritty and we’re not about flash — well, sometimes,” he said with a brief pause. “Just the roots of Brooklyn as this very bold, strong, simple logo” When the NBA’s Seattle Sonics franchise moved to Oklahoma in 2008, the team was rechristened the Oklahoma City Thunder and was branded with a new color-filled logo fit for post-millennium basketball. With this new Nets move, Jay-Z and Nets brass looked to the past in order to ensure the team’s place in the future. Vintage New York transit system signage served as their chief inspiration. “It was really a take off the old subway signs, if you look at the old subway signs they were in black and white. It was that strong, beautiful, iconic black and white,” Jay said. “I wanted to pick something that would stand the test of time and be here forever.” What do you think of the new Brooklyn Nets logo? Tell us in the comments!

Video: Kobe Bryant Tried to Kill a Reporter with His Eyes Following Lakers vs. Thunder Game 1

The Los Angeles Lakers were completely and thoroughly embarrassed the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday night. Nearly everyone had picked the Thunder to win this series, but most figured things would at least be mildly competitive throughout. As you can probably tell by the 119-90 final score – there was nothing competitive about what transpired last night. After the game, Kobe Bryant was understandably… Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : Opposing Views Discovery Date : 15/05/2012 07:06 Number of articles : 3

Why Howard Stern Is The Perfect ‘America’s Got Talent’ Judge

‘All these articles talk about how I’ve changed and I’m like, ‘Good, I hope I’ve changed,’ ‘ Stern says about his bad-boy reputation. By Gil Kaufman Howard Stern Photo: MTV News Settle down, America. Regardless of what you think of segments like “Hottest Chick with the Oldest Dude” or the “Tiger Woods Mistress Beauty Pageant,” new “America’s Got Talent” judge Howard Stern is not going to bring his X-rated antics to prime-time television. Stern starts his run as a judge on the popular reality competition
show on Monday (May 14) night and before viewing even one minute of his family-hour act some critics have already decided he’s going to turn the 8 p.m. hour into a non-stop cavalcade of strippers, four-letter words and bathroom humor. If you’ve listened at all to Stern’s SiriusXM radio show over the past six months, the original radio rebel has made it clear that he has only one intention: to be the best, most honest judge on TV. Stern is an obsessive about many things: his career-long nemesis Don Imus, his quirky bathroom habits, babysitter porn, the weight gains and losses and internecine feuds among his staff members and, yes, judges on reality series. As much as he’d love to find better uses for his time, Howard is drawn like a magnet to “American Idol,” “Dancing With the Stars” and various other shows where, frankly, he thinks the judges are lousy, lazy, dishonest and just kind of lame. “AGT” is Stern’s chance to prove that he is willing to put up or shut up. This is the man, you may recall, who has spent decades trying to convince America that he is a poorly endowed, paunchy lover who has never satisfied a woman. How much more honest can you be? He knows better not just as a father of three seemingly well-adjusted adult daughters, but as a professional broadcaster and 30-plus year veteran in the game. There’s a time and a place for everything and “AGT” is not the forum for the Wack Pack and the adult word of Stern. This is a guy, after all, whose first movie was a hit, but who has spent the ensuing 20-plus years reading scripts and discarding them because they didn’t ring true or feel right for him. Every move he makes is meticulously dissected, over-thought and ruminated over both on and off the air. The neurotic, locker room Howard Stern character of the radio is not the same Howard you are going to see on TV. Because who in their right mind would humiliate a child on TV as some have suggested Stern might do? If anything, given his moral compass, Howard is more likely to go after the greedy, self-involved “Toddlers and Tiaras”-style parents that put their children up to audition for transparently selfish reasons. And who could argue with that? That’s not even mentioning the fact that “AGT” picked up the entire production and moved it to New York to accommodate Stern’s radio show. Combine that with a reported $20 million payday, and, let’s assume, an iron-clad morals clause, and there’s virtually no incentive for Stern to go off-script and try to tank the show by crossing streams with his more sordid radio world. Why would Stern spend his life building a brand, only to go on TV and pull some kind of Andy Kaufman stunt and blow it apart just to be shocking? That’s not shocking. That’s self-destructive, bad business and frankly, just stupid. If there’s anything I’ve learned after listening to Stern for the past two decades it’s that he will pick fights with management and complain and lash out, he will stomp his feet, vent his spleen and complain ad nauseum about being treated poorly, but he will not embarrass himself or do anything that could tarnish the legacy of what he’s so painstakingly built for himself and his audience. (Okay, Fartman was not his best moment, but still, c’mon, it was still pretty hilarious.) He wants you to love him, needs you to love him and after hit radio shows, movies, books and television production credits, what better way to do that than to once again prove his detractors wrong and conquer the one medium he’s got left on his bucket list: star of prime time TV? Plus, he loves to win, lives to win, and he knows that with this move he can’t lose. There’s little or no competition from other big-name shows in the summer months, the program already has a huge ratings base and any drop-off from the Stern Effect will easily be made up by his millions of fans. The curiosity factor alone (not to mention a huge, full-court ad campaign that had the normally press-averse Stern doing talk shows and New York Times interviews) will surely give the first few weeks a major ratings boost. After years of experiments, plugging a celebrity judge into a panel is a mixed blessing at this point. Steven Tyler was kind of fun and quirky on last year’s “American Idol,” but by this season he was merely irritating and mostly just a peacocking place-filler who offered little or nothing of substance to the contestants. Howard’s watched this, studied it and has promised that he will be a different kind of judge. “All these articles talk about how I’ve changed and I’m like, ‘Good, I hope I’ve changed,'” Stern said on his satellite radio show on Monday (May 14) about his bad-boy reputation. He’s less angry, jealous and resentful these days, but he’s also more keenly aware of what it takes to entertain and I have a feeling that, love him or hate him, if you tune in tonight you’re going to be surprised. And I guarantee you will be entertained. Do you think Howard Stern will be a good judge on “America’s Got Talent” Let us know in comments below.

President Obama $15 Million Hollywood Fundraiser Hosts Robert Downey Jr., Tobey Maguire

‘Are we a country that includes everybody and give everybody a shot and treats everybody fairly?’ Obama tells the crowd about his gay marriage stance. By Gil Kaufman President Obama arrives in Los Angeles to attend a fundraiser at the home of George Clooney Photo: AFP/Getty Images President Obama again affirmed his support of gay marriage
on Thursday night at a star-studded Los Angeles fundraiser at the home of George Clooney. The event, which reportedly raised a record $15 million for the Obama re-election campaign fund, was attended by around 150 guests who paid $40,000, along with two women who won tickets by pledging $3 in an online raffle. Speaking in front of an audience that was likely to be receptive
to the message, Obama expanded on his view of gay marriage. “Obviously, yesterday we made some news,” he said to what was reported by The Los Angeles Times to be enthusiastic. Obama was referring to an ABC interview in which he revealed that he now personally supports same-sex marriage, which made him the first sitting president to ever do so. “It was a logical extension of what America is supposed to be. It grew directly out of this difference in visions: Are we a country that includes everybody and gives everybody a shot and treats everybody fairly and is that going to make us stronger? Are we welcoming to immigrants? Are we welcoming to people who aren’t like us — does that make us stronger? I believe it does. So that’s what’s at stake.” The comments reiterated his earlier embrace of gay marriage, which was applauded by celebrity blogger Perez Hilton
, who told MTV on Thursday that the news was happy, if a bit late in coming. “I wish he would have done this a long time ago,” Hilton said. The gathering was organized by DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg, featured food by famed chef-to-the-stars Wolfgang Puck and took place in a large tent on the basketball court outside Clooney’s huge Tudor-style Hollywood home. Among the stars in attendance were Robert Downey Jr., Tobey Maguire, Jack Black, Salma Hayek, Billy Crystal, Barbra Streisand and husband James Brolin and Clooney’s girlfriend, Stacey Kiebler. Fresh off his joke-filled appearance at the Correspondents dinner in D.C., the president went for laughs again, chiding the host that his famous 2008 “Hope” campaign poster was taken from a photo of him sitting next to Clooney when Obama was a U.S. Senator. “This is the first time that George Clooney has ever been PhotoShopped out of a picture,” Obama said. “Never happened before, never happen again.” And while the night had a positive tone, Obama acknowledged to his high-dollar donors that the upcoming election is going to be much more difficult than the 2008 contest. “This is going to be harder than it was the last time,” he said. “2008, in some ways, was lighting in a bottle … So we’re going to have to fight against cynicism and a belief that maybe things can’t happen and maybe the game is rigged, what’s the point. That’s what we’re going to be fighting against this time.”

Russell Brand To Host 2012 MTV Movie Awards

Two-time VMA host will lead the festivities Sunday, June 3, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on MTV. By Kevin P. Sullivan Russell Brand Photo: Dave Hogan/ Getty Images Actor, comedian and two-time Video Music Awards emcee Russell Brand will be your host for the 2012 MTV Movie Awards when they air live from the Gibson Amphitheatre on Sunday, June 3, at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The star of the upcoming film “Rock of Ages” will lead the fan-voted awards, which celebrate the year’s biggest films. “This MTV Movie Awards will be more impressive than ‘The Avengers’ and you won’t have to wait an hour for someone to Hulk out,” said Russell Brand. “MTV Movie Awards incorporates two of my favorite things. Movies and Awards. If somehow group sex could be involved it would be the greatest night of my life.” Jesse Ignjatovic, the executive producer for the show, spoke with MTV News about Brand and why he was a clear choice as host. “First of all, I think Russell’s the perfect host for this show,” said Ignjatovic, who previously worked with Brand during his two stints hosting the VMAs. “He’s a movie star. He’s probably one of the most brilliant stand-ups that I’ve seen in his time, and he’s a rock star.” And it’s that rock-and-roll attitude that Ignjatovic said will play an important role in this year’s show, which will highlight the ties between music and film with performances from groups like Fun. Ignjatovic added that Brand’s ability to riff off the unscripted moments in the show really excites him. “Whatever we end up creating around him within the show, he brings that danger thing as well,” Ignjatovic said. “We’d love for the show to live there, where you don’t know how he’s going to react to something in the moment. He’s so sharp and witty and on his game that that’s an exciting place to live.” But when it really comes down to it, what makes Brand the right host, according to Ignjatovic, is his comedy. “He has amazing comedic chops. He’s brilliant. He touches all of the areas that I think are important to us,” he said. “Add to that I think he’s one of the most professional people I’ve worked with in terms of comedians. He’s well-studied and very dedicated to his craft. I think we’re very fortunate that he said ‘yes.’ ” Head over to MovieAwards.MTV.com to vote for your favorite flicks now! Adam Yauch Dead at 47 [UPDATED]

Tragic, shocking news out of New York just now: Adam Yauch — a.k.a. MCA, one-third of rap legends the Beastie Boys, influential filmmaker and music-video director, and founder of independent-film distributor Oscilloscope Laboratories — has died following his long battle with cancer. He was 47. Movieline will have more on Yauch’s passing, including official comment from Oscilloscope and appreciations of Yauch’s artistic legacy, throughout the day. Developing… [via Global Grind , Rolling Stone ] UPDATE [3:56 p.m. EDT]: Movieline received this statement from Yauch’s Oscilloscope Laboratories colleagues Dan Berger, David Fenkel and David Laub on behalf of the entire company: “We are deeply, deeply saddened by the passing of Adam Yauch – an amazing leader, a dear friend and an incredible human being. Today we are heartbroken at Oscilloscope as we take in this awful news and our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time. Adam’s legacy will remain a driving force at Oscilloscope – his indomitable spirit and his great passion for film, people, and hard work – always with a sense of humor and a lot of heart.” And this followed from the Beastie Boys’ management company Nasty Little Man: It is with great sadness that we confirm that musician, rapper, activist and director Adam “MCA” Yauch, founding member of Beastie Boys and also of the Milarepa Foundation that produced the Tibetan Freedom Concert benefits, and film production and distribution company Oscilloscope Laboratories, passed away in his native New York City this morning after a near-three-year battle with cancer. He was 47 years old. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Yauch taught himself to play bass in high school, forming a band for his 17th birthday party that would later become known the world over as Beastie Boys. With fellow members Michael “Mike D” Diamond and Adam “Adrock” Horovitz, Beastie Boys would go on to sell over 40 million records, release four #1 albums–including the first hip hop album ever to top the Billboard 200, the band’s 1986 debut full length, Licensed To Ill –win three Grammys, and the MTV Video Vanguard Lifetime Achievement award. Last month Beastie Boys were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, with Diamond and Horovitz reading an acceptance speech on behalf of Yauch, who was unable to attend. In addition to his hand in creating such historic Beastie Boys albums as Paul’s Boutique, Check Your Head, Ill Communication, Hello Nasty and more, Yauch was a founder of the Milarepa Fund, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting awareness and activism regarding the injustices perpetrated on native Tibetans by Chinese occupational government and military forces. In 1996, Milarepa produced the first Tibetan Freedom Concert in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park, which was attended by 100,000 people, making it the biggest benefit concert on U.S. soil since 1985’s Live Aid. The Tibetan Freedom Concert series would continue to stage some of the most significant benefit shows in the world for nearly a decade following in New York City, Washington DC, Tokyo, Sydney, Amsterdam, Taipei and other cities. In the wake of September 11, 2001, Milarepa organized New Yorkers Against Violence, a benefit headlined by Beastie Boys at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom, with net proceeds disbursed to the New York Women’s Foundation Disaster Relief Fund and the New York Association for New Americans (NYANA) September 11th Fund for New Americans–each chosen for their efforts on behalf of 9/11 victims least likely to receive help from other sources. Under the alias of Nathanial Hörnblowér, Yauch directed iconic Beastie Boys videos including ‘So Whatcha Want,’ ‘Intergalactic,’ ‘Body Movin’ and ‘Ch-Check It Out.’ Under his own name, Yauch directed last year’s Fight For Your Right Revisited , an extended video for ‘Make Some Noise’ from Beastie Boys’ Hot Sauce Committee Part Two , starring Elijah Wood, Danny McBride and Seth Rogen as the 1986 Beastie Boys, making their way through a half hour of cameo-studded misadventures before squaring off against Jack Black, Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly as Beastie Boys of the future. Yauch’s passion and talent for filmmaking led to his founding of Oscilloscope Laboratories, which in 2008 released his directorial film debut, the basketball documentary Gunnin’ For That #1 Spot and has since become a major force in independent video distribution, amassing a catalogue of such acclaimed titles as Kelly Reichardt’s Wendy and Lucy , Oren Moverman’s The Messenger , Banksy’s Exit Through The Gift Shop , Lance Bangs and Spike Jonze’s Tell Them Anything You Want: A Portrait Of Maurice Sendak , and many more. Yauch is survived by his wife Dechen and his daughter Tenzin Losel, as well as his parents Frances and Noel Yauch. UPDATE [5:20 p.m. EDT] Here’s Movieline partner ENTV ‘s dispatch on Yauch:
