‘I just wanted to make something super jammin’,’ K.R.I.T. tells MTV News of producing T.I.’s first post-prison single. By Rob Markman T.I. Photo: Chris McKay/ Getty Images Since breaking through with 2010’s K.R.I.T. Wuz Here, Big K.R.I.T. has been on rap’s fast track. As an MC, he has worked alongside Bun B, Ludacris and David Banner, and last week, he landed his biggest production credit yet with T.I. On “I’m Flexin’,” Tip’s first single since being released from Prison last week, the Meridian, Mississippi, producer gave the Grand Hustle CEO a rocked-tinged, Southern-fried banger. “Tip got out and he reached out to my folks to see what we’re trying to do, as far as Southern hip-hop is concerned,” K.R.I.T. told MTV News on the black carpet for the taping of the 2011 BET Hip Hop Awards in Atlanta. “It’s just a blessing. He reached out and wanted to work. I sent the record, he liked the record, he jumped on it, and it is what it is. I’m glad it came out in a timely fashion.” Though T.I. had been in a halfway house since September 15 and allowed to work in the studio, he officially satisfied his sentence on Thursday; “I’m Flexin’ ” was released the next day. “I just wanted to make something super jammin’, something organic and vintage-sounding, as far as Southern hip-hop is concerned,” Krizzle explained. “I felt like when he heard it, he knew exactly where I was trying to go with it. And he killed that sh–, so it worked out.” “The record is hot,” DJ Drama, T.I.’s longtime collaborator , told MTV News about “I’m Flexin’ ” days before it was released. “Big K.R.I.T. deserves it. He’s been working for a long time. So they’re both fans of each other, so sh– is definitely gonna be a nice sound for the ear.” K.R.I.T. also appears on a small portion of the song’s chorus, but when asked if he would appear on the remix with a full verse, the MC/producer let out a mischievous laugh. “I got the beat,” he said with a wide, boy-like grin. “So we’ll see.” What do you think of T.I.’s “I’m Flexin’ “? Leona Lewis Delays Album Release To 2012

‘I’m feeling so inspired right now and have decided to continue recording,’ singer says of Glassheart. By Jocelyn Vena Leona Lewis Photo: Getty Images Leona Lewis fans will have to wait to hear what the singer has in store for them on her album Glassheart. The British pop chanteuse has taken to her Facebook page to announce that the album is now expected to drop next year, instead of November as originally planned. “Just wanted to update everyone on the album!” she wrote . “I’m feeling so inspired right now and have decided to continue recording! I have a collection of songs that I’m so in love with and I [know] there’s more to be born so it means the album will come early next year x.” Despite the delay, she did tease fans with a single, “Collide,” earlier this year. The song, written and produced by Autumn Rowe and produced by Sandy Vee, garnered attention when Swedish DJ Avicii claimed it was plagiarized from his 2010 track “Penguin.” Avicii was eventually given co-writing credits on the track, NME.com reports. A video for the song dropped this past summer and featured Lewis getting flirty on the beach. The dance-flavored track was something of a departure for Lewis, who made a name for herself with big ballads and mid-tempo hits like “Better in Time” and “Bleeding Love.” She’s reportedly been in the studio with a number of A-listers including Chuck Harmony, Claude Kelly, Ryan Tedder, Fraser T. Smith, Dallas Austin, Rico Love, Naughty Boy and Ne-Yo. The album is a follow-up to 2009’s Echo, which spawned hits like “Happy” when it dropped. Related Artists Leona Lewis

Lil Wayne’s Success ‘Gratifying’ For Mystikal

‘Wayne was a student in my dojo before,’ Mystikal tells Mixtape Daily. By Rob Markman, with reporting by James “FLX” Smith Lil Wayne Photo: Frank Micelotta/ Getty Images Celebrity Favorites: Mystikal Since Mystikal’s been gone , a lot has changed on hip-hop’s playing field. In 2004, when Mystikal was locked up on sexual battery and extortion charges, Jay-Z was fresh off his “retirement,” Kanye West was just beginning his rookie year in rap and Lil Wayne was getting set to drop the first album in his now-famed Tha Carter series. Now, Kanye and Jay are the Throne and both enjoy veteran rap status, and Lil Wayne is sitting on top of the world. Mystikal recalls his fellow New Orleans rapper’s come-up and can’t help but feel a bit responsible for the growth. “Wayne was a student in my dojo before. I was a sensei before. I had big inspiration on him,” Mystikal said of the younger Weezy. “It’s gratifying to see him reach the heights that he reached with his hustle. So I’m proud of him.” Mystikal, who turned 41 last week, has a catalog of rap classics. Songs like “Shake Ya Ass” and “Danger” helped shine hip-hop’s light on his native New Orleans and the artists who hail from the Louisiana city. Still, the Tarantula isn’t content with his past hits. He has recently been in the studio with producer Mannie Fresh, cooking up a new batch of material. So how will this new Mystikal fit into hip-hop’s current landscape? “Just another option, just give them another option,” Mystikal told Mixtape Daily of what he hopes to offer to rap fans. “All the marquee artists are who they are; I don’t have to say no names. [The fans] just ready for more options, they ready for some other big cards to play. Trust me!” For other artists featured in Mixtape Daily, check out Mixtape Daily Headlines . Daniel Craig ‘Hopes’ Ralph Fiennes, Javier Bardem Join ‘Bond 23’

‘I’m as excited about this script as I was about the ‘Casino Royale’ script,’ he tells MTV News. By Eric Ditzian Daniel Craig Photo: Ian Gavan/ Getty Images This summer in Montana, while Daniel Craig was promoting “Cowboys & Aliens,” the actor steered clear of any casting news relating to “Bond 23,” declining to confirm to MTV News long-standing rumors that Ralph Fiennes and Javier Bardem were getting set to join the action flick. A few months later, while promoting “The Adventures of Tintin,” Craig was in more of a giving mood, letting us know that he’s keeping his fingers crossed that Fiennes and Bardem are on set when production on “Bond 23” kicks off in early October. “I hope so,” he said about the two actors. “I hope so.” Bardem confirmed back in February that he was in talks to play a villain in the flick, while rumors have been floating since early in the year that Fiennes was looking to take on an unspecified role. In July, MTV News shot down reports that “Amazing Spider-Man” villain Rhys Ifans had also signed up for “Bond 23,” with the actor telling us, “No, I just have a license to kill.” According to Craig, the way “Bond 23” is coming together has him the most excited about the franchise since he took on the iconic spy role years ago. “We’ve got a great script this time,” he told us. “I’m as excited about this script as I was about the ‘Casino Royale’ script. I think in Sam [Mendes] we’ve got the perfect director. The cast is coming together now. I can’t wait to get going on it.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Bond 23.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .

Willow Smith Finishing Up Debut Album, Jukebox Says

‘A lot of her music has a very big influence of everything from rock to pop to hip-hop,’ producer tells Mixtape Daily. By Rob Markman Willow Smith Photo: Getty Images Behind the Beats: Jukebox Willow Smith took music fans by surprise in 2010 when she dropped her debut single, “Whip My Hair.” Will Smith’s swagged-out offspring blended a pop sound with a distinct urban sensibility, and producer Ronald “Jukebox” Jackson was largely responsible for the platinum hit. So what’s next musically for the 10-year-old singer? Jukebox tells Mixtape Daily that Willow is in the process of finishing up her Roc Nation debut . “I did like eight, nine songs on Willow, so right now, we’re in the process of just trying to close out the album,” he said. “It’s just the whole process. You got to think about it: She’s a 10-year old girl. She’s gotta have a life, she’s gotta be a kid.” According to Jukebox, the album will contain a myriad of sounds. “Willow is kind of a combination of what ‘Whip My Hair’ was. Willow just isn’t a pop star, she isn’t just an urban artist; she’s very international,” he explained. “A lot of her music has a very big influence of everything from rock to pop to hip-hop.” On “Rock Star,” fans will hear a different side of Willow, and Jukebox — who also did the music for Swizz Beatz and Chris Brown’s “Dance Like a White Girl” — hopes it will be her next hit. “Next single which I’m praying for is a record I did called ‘Rock Star.’ … She’s been performing it everywhere. It’s getting very great reaction,” he said. “We also did a record with Diggy Simmons that’s incredible. … She’s just a combination of everything pretty much.” For other artists featured in Mixtape Daily, check out Mixtape Daily Headlines . Lil Jon Gets Rowdy In Yelawolf’s ‘Hard White’ Video

First clip from Yela’s upcoming Radioactive debut features a debauched crowd in a gritty bar. By Rob Markman Yelawolf Photo: Getty Images Bar fights, bikini wrestling and a Lil Jon guest spot — what’s not to love about Yelawolf ‘s “Hard White” video? On Tuesday (September 20) Catfish Billy debuted the first visual to his debut album, Radioactive, which is set to hit stores on October 25. The Motion Family-directed clip starts with a pan from an outside parking lot, revealing bikers, truckers and various riffraff who file into the gritty bar where the MC is set to perform. Lil Jon is the hype man, but Yela is clearly the life of the party as he raps and pops champagne bottles in a tie-dyed hoodie. “You ain’t gotta lay down on your back to know you’re already f—ed up/ Lettin’ me in the motherf—in’ club is like lettin’ me drunk drive in your truck,” the Shady signee spits to set things off as partygoers keep their hands in the air. The crowd is a mixed bunch — black, white, tatted up and gangsta — who seem to enjoy debauchery. Women are passed out drunk in the bathroom, while Wolf slides his buddy across the bar top like a human bowling ball, striking all the staged beer bottles in the process. The Gadsen, Alabama, lyricist isn’t the only entertainment in the staged nightclub, however. In the middle of the venue a kiddie pool, filled with some type of lubricant, houses two scantily clad eye candies who wrestle and smack each other on the backside in slow motion as the rowdy crowd cheers them on. The song’s hook (“Up in the club, don’t give a f—“) is a lyrical reflection of what fans see. Visually, “Hard White” is dark, mixing hip-hop and punk elements seamlessly as Yela proves he is a musical force to be reckoned with even before his boast at the end of the clip. “I ain’t in the building, I own the building, bitch,” he exclaimed. And who are we to argue? Related Videos ‘RapFix Live’ With Yelawolf Related Artists YelaWolf Lil Jon

LMFAO Strip Down For ‘Sexy And I Know It’ Video

‘You gotta have moves, whether it be in the bedroom [or] on the dance floor,’ Redfoo tells MTV News about just-released clip. By Jocelyn Vena LMFAO Photo: MTV News LMFAO shuffled their way through the “Party Rock” video, and now they’re hoping to make “the wiggle” the next national dance craze. The guys just dropped their video for “Sexy and I Know It,” and it features lots of metallic Speedos, NSFW wiggling and a few celeb cameos. Redfoo and Sky Blu enlisted the help of their usual Party Rock crew, as well as Simon Rex, Wilmer Valderrama and Ron Jeremy, as they dance their way through Venice Beach and a local bar proving they are sexy and they know it. The video was shot back in late August, and MTV News caught up with LMFAO in Los Angeles as they cast extras for the video. We wanted to know: Just what is sexy? “Sexy is confidence. It’s ‘I don’t care what other people think, but I want them to think I’m sexy at the same time,’ ” Redfoo explained. “It’s a Catch-22. I want to be seen. Sexy is you want attention and you gotta have moves. You gotta have moves, whether it be in the bedroom [or] on the dance floor — just the way you walk, the way you talk.” His party pal, Sky Blu, had this piece of advice for those hoping to prove their sexiness after checking out the clip: “You’ve got to cultivate sexy. Sexy is something that you’ve consciously or unconsciously throughout your life been working on. If you’re in the mirror doing a little helicopter after the shower, that’s sexy and I know it.” Like their previous clips, the video features lots of gyrating dance moves. “It has to become natural to the way you already move, the way you walk,” Redfoo said of their dancing skillz. “It’s the same smooth thang.” What did you think of the “Sexy and I Know It” video? Oscar Host Eddie Murphy Will Commit ‘200’ Percent

‘He’s a huge movie star. He has huge international appeal,’ producer Brett Ratner tells us on Emmy Awards red carpet. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Eddie Murphy Photo: Bruno Vincent/ Getty Images The American public may no longer be convinced about Eddie Murphy ‘s enduring comedic gifts, based on the number of folks who purchased tickets to “Imagine That” and “Meet Dave.” Even Eddie Murphy may no longer be convinced about Eddie Murphy’s enduring comedic gifts . But one man with no such doubt is Brett Ratner , who is producing the 2012 Academy Awards and who has tapped Murphy to host. “I think there’s no question about it. He’s the greatest,” Ratner told us Sunday night at the Emmy Awards about Eddie taking on the gig and slaying the crowd. “My first idea was the show had to go in the direction of more comedy with a single host, and there’s nobody better on that stage than Eddie Murphy.” “I grew up watching ‘ Raw ‘ and ‘ Delirious ‘ and being a big fan of him,” Ratner added. “He’s a huge movie star. He has huge international appeal. There’s nobody better. He’s a pro. The guy is a pro.” That’s certainly true, even if it has been a couple of decades since Eddie’s days as the foulmouthed king of the standup comedy world. Ratner, for his part, appears to be attempting to hit a sort of Eddie Murphy reset button, for years trying to kick-start another ” Beverly Hills Cop ” film and now coming out this fall with ” Tower Heist ,” a flick that finds the comedian cussing and riffing like it’s the ’80s all over again. Perhaps for Murphy, in Ratner he trusts. Which is why, according to the filmmaker, Eddie took zero convincing to take on the Oscar gig. “It’s not the kind of job you want to convince anyone to do. They either want to do it or they don’t,” Ratner told us, adding that Eddie is going to commit more than 150 percent effort to the job. “200, not 150! 200!” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .

‘Drive’: The Reviews Are In!

Critics enjoy film’s intensity and performances, especially Ryan Gosling’s. By Kara Warner Ryan Gosling and Carey Mulligan in “Drive” Photo: FilmDistrict What do you get when you cast pretty, popular, Oscar-nominated actor Ryan Gosling in a violent action thriller, directed by gritty director Nicholas Refn, featuring a stirring performance by celebrated writer/director/comedian Albert Brooks? A critically acclaimed potential award candidate, that’s what. “Drive” is the story of an intense, introverted driver-for-hire (Gosling) who is an automobile stuntman for Hollywood pictures by day and a getaway man for armed crooks by night. All is going relatively well until Gosling’s driver becomes involved with his neighbor Irene (Carey Mulligan) and offers to help her estranged ex-convict husband, who wants to rid himself of unpaid debts to a group of dangerous criminals (one of whom is Brooks). Naturally, things get heated and really violent. With a 95 percent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes , most critics are enjoying the violent intensity of the film and the performances. So let’s dig a little deeper into the “Drive” reviews : Gosling As Gritty Action Star “Ryan Gosling’s incarnation of the hauntingly lonely Driver is a beautifully realized, complete performance. He understands not just the psychology of the character, but how he fits into the tone and pacing of the film as a whole; he and Refn seem to be partnering as director and actor, the way Laura Dern partners with David Lynch or Julianne Moore with Todd Haynes. I’ve read that Gosling first approached Refn, gave him the James Sallis novel this is based on and proposed turning it into a film. If true, this indicates two promising things about Gosling’s future: He has both good taste and a keen sense of what projects he should take on as an actor. Here, this almost excessively beautiful performer is in complete control of his own considerable magnetism. In a role that could have flattered his vanity and allowed for all manner of ostentatious brooding, Gosling instead quietly dives into the emotional black hole at Driver’s center, and takes us along for the ride.” — Dana Stevens, Slate.com The Direction “Refn, a Danish director whose previous films include ‘Bronson’ and ‘Valhalla Rising,’ is known for his love of blood, and when the plot of ‘Drive’ quickens he finds plenty of chances to indulge in his penchant for lurid, stylized violence. But even his most fetishized flourishes are tempered here, not just with the tender love story between Irene and Driver but with Refn’s newfound restraint (one pivotal murderous episode occurs entirely in shadow).” — Ann Hornaday, The Washington Post The Violence “Less user-friendly is the film’s disturbing violence. ‘Drive’ doesn’t spend a lot of time on mayhem, but what does get put on screen is intense, unsettling and increasingly grotesque and graphic as the film goes on. For fans of director Refn, known among chaos aficionados for made-in-Europe violent fare like ‘The Pusher’ trilogy and ‘Bronson,’ this is bloody business as usual. But the mayhem here so clashes with the high style and traditionalism of the rest of the film that when the bloodletting goes into overdrive, so to speak, it throws you out of the picture, diluting the mood rather than enhancing it.” — Kenneth Turan, Los Angeles Times The Final Word, Pro-Con Style “There will be those who’ll say they liked this movie better when it was ‘Thief,’ Jean-Pierre Melville’s ‘Le Samoura
