John Moore/Getty Images North Carolina Mom Ordered $1600 Worth Of Cookies From Daughter’s Troop And Failed To Pay In another “epitome of a trash mom” moment, 31-year-old Noel Hines was arrested for theft in North College Hill, NC this week after allegedly accepting a large order ($1600!) for Girl Scout cookies to sell for her daughter’s troop last March but failing to pay up to the Girl Scouts of Western Ohio… According to Daily Mail reports: Girl Scout officials and police say they attempted to contact Hines over a period of six months to procure the $1600 owed, but were not successful — SO, when Hines was arrested last week on unrelated charges, she was also charged with theft at the North College Hill Mayor’s court. Hines has been arraigned and is scheduled to appear in court on November 28. The Girl Scouts of Western Ohio said situations regarding theft in their troop are ‘infrequent’ and ‘unfortunate.’ ‘When we have evidence that an adult misuses troop funds, we pursue vigorously and, when appropriate, contact law enforcement to recover as much money for the troop as possible. This is not something we take lightly,’ the company said in a statement. Peep the Facebook post that the North College Hill Police Department put up regarding Hines: The Girl Scouts Of America cookie manual prices the cookies at $4 per box, which would mean Hines made off with about 400 boxes of cookies. SMH!
So a lot of people haven't been too into Pete Davidson lately. Well, a lot of people haven't been into Pete Davidson for a long time, but let's just focus on what's been going on lately, OK? His breakup with Ariana Grande has quite a bit to do with this — she has a lot of really hardcore fans, and they're not happy with him right now. Last week during the Weekend Update segment, Pete was mocking the appearance of several candidates in the midterm elections. And when Crenshaw came up, he said that he looked like “a hit man in a porno movie.” “I'm sorry,” he continued, “I know he lost his eye in war or whatever. Whatever.” Except to many people, it was not whatever. Pete got a whole lot of hate for his comment, which was definitely fair. As Crenshaw himself tweeted, SNL should recognize “that vets don't deserve to see their wounds used as punchlines for bad jokes.” It was honestly a pretty big controversy last week. So what about this week?! Pete showed up on Weekend Update once again, this time to apologize. “I mean this from the bottom of my heart,” he explained, “it was a poor choice of words.” “The man is a war hero and he deserves all the respect in the world, and if any good came of this, maybe it was that for one day the left and the right came together to agree on something: that I'm a dick .” At that point, Dan Crenshaw showed up and asked “You think?” Pete apologized directly to him, and he accepted it — it was a genuinely nice moment. But then Crenshaw's phone started ringing with an Ariana Grande song as his ringtone. And that's when things got beautiful. The song played for a bit, and then Pete told him that to get him back for what he said during the last episode, he could check out a picture of him and mock his appearance. When they pulled up a photo of Pete, Crenshaw said that he looked like “if the meth from Breaking Bad was a person.” Next, he said he looked like “a troll doll with a tapeworm,” and then “Martin Short from Santa Clause 3.” For that one, he added that “one of those people was good on SNL,” meaning Martin Short, obviously. To wrap things up, Crenshaw gave a serious message about what this whole scandal could teach us all — how important it is to respect veterans. And at the end of the video, when the audience was applauding, you can hear Pete lean in and tell him “you're a good man.” So everything's been settled, right? Is Pete likable yet? Last night was Farrah Abraham’s big boxing match! Or, well, it was supposed to be, anyway. Last night, Farrah was scheduled to fight Hoopz from Flavor of Love in Atlantic City, but sadly, it never came to be. The boxing match was for charity, but our girl backed out because the promoter wouldn’t play for airfare and hotel rooms for like 30 “friends” of hers. Really, that’s what happened. She insisted that she was promised all those rooms and plane tickets, but the organizers denied it, and obviously refused to cater to her insane demands. So she refused to fight. It’s unclear now what’s going to happen with all of that — she could very well be sued for breaking her contract . But the show went on with Mob Wives star Natalie DiDonato taking over for Farrah . Hoopz won, by the way. Meanwhile, Farrah went to Maldives with her daughter, Sophia, and in between posing for lame pictures and being her usual awful self, she gave an interview to Hollywood Life. And, in usual Farrah fashion, it didn’t really make a whole lot of sense but it was entertaining just the same. First, she advised “anyone associated to the criminal fraud promoters” of the fight “to cease and desist using my name for attention of their failed fight to steal money and use celebrities.” Those celebs, by the way, include “Hoopz, Catelynn, and other low-class wannabe celebrities like Drita.” Drita officiated the fight, an excellent choice since she got into that spectacular feud with Farrah earlier this year — that’s shy she’s bringing her up. And the Catelynn she’s referring to here is none of than Catelynn Lowell. Because she went to the fight! As Cate explained in an Instagram post a few days ago, she went to Atlantic City with Tyler because they were “supposed to see Farrah get laid the hell out by Hoopz thennn she dropped out!” She also called Farrah a “scared sissy” and suggested that she “grow a pair,” which was pretty rich. After all, the whole match was to raise awareness against anti-bullying, so to bully Farrah there was just an odd choice. Lots of other people agreed, so many that Catelynn ended up turning the comments off on her post. Anyway, about Catelynn, Drita, and Hoopz, Farrah claimed that they were all “planning to make a mockery of anti-bullying, and as some are moms, it’s disgusting.” She continued by saying that “Since Teen Mom ratings are lowest ever without me, the Teen Mom groupes including Javi, Catelynn and more teen cast members still went to Atlantic City and said that I wasn’t there, as I’m the reason everyone was going.” “Gone are the days I’m around people who are jealous of me — it’s clear I’m the winner over the bullies of this failed event.” “I’ve still won,” she said. “I’m in the Maldives, where they can’t even afford to come.” “Atlantic City is more in their bracket, and happy they paid to watch me.” She’s really not holding back, is she? Farrah wrapped things up by saying that “Like everyone else, I would never watch fake Teen Mom trash drama anymore.” Instead, “the Kardashian parenting is much better to watch,” which is just a really bizarre and also false thing to say here. “Hope the show doesn’t tank,” she added, ” but looks like it has without me .” “Going snorkeling!” And as much as it hurts to admit it, those kinds of quotes are why Farrah is such an icon. Is her absence the reason why Teen Mom OG ratings aren’t so great the season? Maybe. On this episode of Extra Butter with Xilla Valentine , I head out to Rome, Italy to sit down with my girl Claire Foy to check out her new movie The Girl In The Spider’s Web . In this film, she plays the role of Lisbeth Salander who has to steal a computer program that can access codes for nuclear weapons worldwide from Lakeith Stanfield who plays Alona Casales. When the stakes are this high the NSA is bound to be on the case, so they track the activity all the way to Stockholm. Things go off the wall when Russian thugs take Lisbeth’s laptop and kidnap a math whiz who can actually make the program work. This is when Lisbeth gets the help of and an unlikely ally to try to save the boy and recover the codes to avert disaster. One of the highlights of the film is the great acting by Lakeith and Claire, that director Fede Alveres explains their chemistry was beautiful to watch develop saying, “They are apart for a long time, but a big part of the story is Lakeith going after her and you can’t wait for him to get to her to see what’s going to happen because both of them are very capable at what they do. I think the audience never expects to see where it goes.” It was great to see these two develop magic. I asked Claire about Lakeith and she was very intrigued by the Atlanta star revealing he left her mesmerized, “I love Lakeith, I can listen to him talk for hours and the man is incredible young which I find terrifying. I love him, I think he so fascinating, he is an amazing actor. I think he is brilliant. We had a couple of nights where I just sat and went what do you think about this and what do you think about this? and Why? and What’s this? Yeah… I love him.” While her love for Lakeith was on one hunnid, his love for her might not have been on the same level. “I tried really hard to become his friend,” Claire explains that things didn’t go her way, adding. “Maybe I made him feel a little uncomfortable and he was like step back a little bit.” Maybe they’ll never be best friends forever, but they do a great job acting in scenes together. The Girl In The Spider’s Web is in theaters November 9th. Bohemian Rhapsody is more than a Freddie Mercury biopic it’s an exploration and celebration of one of the most popular rock bands of a generation, Queen. The movie is in theaters now and one this episode of Extra Butter with Xilla Valentine , we break down the film with Rami Malek as Mercury, Gwilym Lee as Brian May , Ben Hardy as Roger Tayler and Joseph Mazzello as John Deacon . Also joining us on this episode is Lucy Boynton who plays Mary Austin , the muse and lifelong friend of Freddie Mercury. Rhapsody delivers grade a acting from everyone involved with Rami Malek being the bright spot. His performance as the legendary rock icon was spot on, from the movements to the lip syncing and the performances. I asked the guys about recreating Queen’s iconic Live Aid performance , Rami revealed that doing one song and stopping was a lot harder than the guys doing the entire Queen set. He told us, “Sometimes it would be more exhausting just to do one of the songs then take a break and do the entire concert because you’re running on so much adrenaline that is carrying you from song to song.” The film nailed the energy of the show. I watched Queen’s performance at the benefit concert and it was almost identical. It’s scary how they were able to pull it off. Rami explained he felt the similarities too, “I remember working on the entire piece when we shot it and seeing how it was similar to their performance you could feel when the adrenaline was kicking in for them as well.” One of the other highlights of the film was watching Rami and Lucy Boynton work together on screen to craft Freddie and Mary’s relationship turned friendship. To me, I felt as if, at least for the movie, Freddie felt like he owned Mary because she was his girl. Lucy explained a pivotal scene when Mary starts living for herself. Lucy really perked up when she heard my opinion of the film saying, “It’s interesting that you say, you see that in the film, I guess that is that thing of the kind of expectation you have of people. Of what they give you and do for you, so I think Freddie really relied on Mary as a staple and center point of his life. You think that such a beautiful and romantic thing until you reverse that and think about how that must of have felt on the receiving end to be seen as someone’s center point as they go off and around.” Overall Bohemian Rhapsody is a good film that celebrates Queen and delivers an award-winning performance from Rami Malek that’s worth going to the movies to see, but if you want a deep dive into the life of Freddie Mercury, as I felt like the movie could have went deeper into the life of Freddie Mercury. Bohemian Rhapsody is in theaters now.
Source: FOX / Getty We finally get some good news on tonight’s episode of Empire . Kai, who has been missing in Nigeria for five days at this point, has been found. Jamal cheeses from ear to ear after getting the call with this news and heads to the hospital post haste! It’s obviously a joyous reunion. What ended up happening to Kai was that he and his crew got ambushed but managed to escape. However, it was a journey trying to get back to the US with no money or passport. This is also the moment we discover that Kai has HIV. Kai didn’t kick Cookie and Jamal out of the room when the doctor was giving him his medical run down. One of the things we learn, which clues us in, is that Kai’s viral load was high because he hadn’t been taking his medication (because he couldn’t). Jamal has known about Kai’s status and had been taking the proper precautions to keep himself negative (like taking PrEP , for example), but imagine Cookie’s shock when she discovers this! Jamal tries to explain to Cookie that she shouldn’t be worried, but she’s so shaken up that she goes home and spills the beans to Lucious. Cookie asks Lucious what they should do about this and Lucious surprises us all when he tells her they should mind their business. Cheers to growth. Lucious understands that you can’t keep two determined grown people apart. Cookie, however, is still a bit dense in getting that mainly because she needs to educate herself about HIV and AIDs, which she does, and because she’s just protective of her baby. Hakeem wants to get back with Tiana, and while she’s down for some d, she’s not convinced that she wants to be with him due to his antics and she wants to focus on getting her music career back together. That latter part takes a turn when Tiana presents new music to Kingsley at Empire and he hates it. He’s super rude to her and insults Hakeem . Basically, he wants her to scrap the project and start over. Becky seems to like it and side eyes Kingsley, who doesn’t deal well with managing artists interpersonally very well. The song was dope but the message here is obvious: Kingsley wouldn’t know a hit if he tripped over one while walking down the street. In other news, Lucious has been struggling with Devon. The thing with Devon is, he has the voice and the looks, but his presence, heart, and soul aren’t quite there. Lucious wants him to stop holding back and taps Jamal to come help. Jamal works his magic, of course, and successfully gets Devon ready to make his debut. We’ll get there in a second. Tiana surprise drops that track she did with Blake (the one where Hakeem wrote the lyrics for Blake and then Blake made Tiana promised that the song would stay between them) because she’s pissed off at Kingsley. Hakeem isn’t happy when he hears it because he’s jealous. Hold that thought. Now we’re at Devon’s performance. The audience is feeling him and so is a record label owner that Lucious has been courting. It’s a man that Lucious knows from back in the day and he wants to sign Devon. They got themselves a deal! Blake confronts Tiana about dropping the track because once again, that song was never supposed to come out. Then Tiana says when she “heard what Blake wrote” she just had to drop the track. Hakeem overhears this and gets pissed at the thought that people think that people think Blake wrote it and thinks Blake is trying to take credit. So, Hakeem does what he does, and punches Blake in the face multiple times. It’s also important to note (if you haven’t picked that up by now) that Hakeem also feels like Blake is trying to steal his woman. Blake and Hakeem get to fighting for a sec (it’s a miracle Hakeem is even breathing through this with his collapsed lung situation) and after it’s broken up, Hakeem has a flashback of Tiana in labor. She had a high-risk pregnancy with twins and a rough delivery. Ultimately, she almost died delivering a boy and a girl, and the girl died. They went through a lot of strife, but that doesn’t always mean they should be together. Tiana is tired of Hakeem’s volatile behavior and says she’s done with him. For real, for real. The episode wraps on a high note. Kai proposes to Jamal. He got the ring the moment he got out of the hospital. But guess what? Jamal planned to propose too! So then he gets down on his one knee and they pop the question to each other. Awww…but we’re still stressed out about who tf ends up dying!
