‘Glee’ Star Matthew Morrison Teams With JC Chasez For Solo Album

Actor gets help from former ‘NSYNC-er for ‘Dancing in the Rain.’ By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Jim Cantiello Matthew Morrison Photo: Jason Merritt/ Getty Images It’s no Acafellas reunion, but “Glee” star Matthew Morrison says he hooked up with former boy bander JC Chasez for one of the tracks on his solo album, which he plans to release next year. “I wrote about half the album so far, but I’ve definitely co-wrote. I’ve definitely teamed up with some great producers, some great songwriters,” he teased MTV News at the “Glee” season two premiere party on Tuesday night in Los Angeles. “And yeah, I just did this great song last week with JC Chasez that was very, very cool. It turned out really well. He’s such a good songwriter.” While the details of the collaboration with the former ‘NSYNC member are scant, Morrison (who plays glee club coach Will Schuester on the show) did share the name of the track. “It’s called ‘Dancing in the Rain,’ not ‘Singing in the Rain,’ but ‘Dancing in the Rain.’ ” Morrison shared that he’s got some other collaborations on the album, but wouldn’t name names. “It’s very eclectic. I’m doing some great duets. I can’t release who they’re with yet, [but it’s] some people that you’ve probably heard of before, that you’ve definitely heard of before.” Fans of “Glee,” which returns to Fox on September 21, shouldn’t be surprised to learn what Morrison’s album will sound like. “It’s gonna be a little adult contemporary,” he said. “And there’s gonna be some pop songs that you can shake your money maker to in the club.” And while Morrison’s co-stars may be presenting an award at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, he’s got even bigger plans following his album’s release. “I’m hoping to perform at the VMAs next year!” The 27th annual MTV Video Music Awards will be broadcast live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday. The party starts with MTV News’ VMA Pre-Show at 8 p.m., followed by the main event at 9 p.m. ET. Fans can go to VMA.MTV.com (or text VMA to 97979 if they are Verizon subscribers) to vote for Best New Artist from now through Sunday. Katy Perry To Perform On ‘SNL’ Season Premiere

‘California Gurls’ singer tweets about performing on September 25 episode. By Kara Warner Katy Perry Photo: Alberto E. Rodriguez/ WireImage She had two singles battling it out for the summer jam of 2010, tackled hosting duties for the Teen Choice Awards, is vying for two VMAs (her “California Gurls” is up for Best Female Video and Best Pop Video) and now America’s current pop sweetheart Katy Perry can add “SNL” performer to her ever-expanding resume. Perry’s more astute fans might have been able to guess the news before the singer made it official, given Perry’s somewhat cryptic Tweet directed at “SNL” alum and the 36th season premiere host, Amy Poehler: “Dear Amy Poehler can I please be your braced faced neighbor friend that hangs out with you & RICKKKKK!” We assume that comment is referring to Poehler’s “Kaitlin” character — the precocious, excitable and extremely loud 10-year-old who appeared in a series of sketches alongside “Rick!” (played by Horatio Sanz). Shortly thereafter, Perry followed her Poehler-themed Tweet with the official announcement: “OKAY! My BIG surprise is I’m opening the season of SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE on Sept 25 W/SNL Alum Amy Poehler!!!” she wrote, followed by a link to her official website with the announcement. MTV News tracked down a representative from “SNL” to confirm Perry’s appearance, though whether the pop star will be included in any of the cast’s sketches remains to be seen. Given Perry’s plucky performance at the — during which she impersonated a series of stereotypical high school characters with her co-hosts (the guys from “Glee”) — she seems a shoe-in for inclusion in at least one of the show’s many vignettes. What do you think of Katy Perry performing on ‘SNL’? Should Poehler and the rest of the cast involve her in some improv? Related Photos The Evolution Of: Katy Perry Related Artists Katy Perry

Carey Mulligan ‘Not Famous Enough’ for Glee?

According to the new issue of Vogue , Oscar nominee Carey Mulligan isn’t cut out for Ryan Murphy’s slap-happy Fox singalong, and it has nothing to do with her range. “I want to be in Glee ,” she said in the magazine , “but I’m told I’m not famous enough to be a cameo.” This dredges up all my old resentments about the role of Sue Sylvester not going to Alfred Molina. Lea Michele Ugly of the Day

I have heard straight people say this bitch is hot. That confuses me. I don’t even know why they know who she is, because she’s the star of Glee, which may be the biggest show on TV, but is so fucking gay, just knowing the shit exists makes you want dick inside your man pussy. I get why gay people like her, you know cuz they are gay, and she looks like a tranny, not to mention she can sing show tunes and that’s just stereotypical homo shit that makes homos cum their women’s panties…. I think Glee is the fall of our society. It is teaching kids that being gay is okay, and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with being a queer, I just like when people used defy all odds to get dick inside them, you know from risking getting beat up, to lowdown hook-up spots in public bathrooms, to AIDS, cuz when being gay was a challenge, I knew the gay dude was for real… But now teenagers are being taught it is cool and okay to fuck each other, making the awkward kid jump on cock for acceptance, instead of really wanting it and I just find something lame about that….it’s like nothing is sacred anymore, everything is just mass produced shit. Either way, here’s the girl on Glee scary as fuck for the closet cases, looking like a monster ready to eat our straight kids and spit them out dancing lightly on their feet and limp writsted….and it’s just too bad she’s not actually worth sticking it to, since that’s what I look for in vagina.

Miley Cyrus And Ashley Greene Shoot ‘LOL’ In Paris

Teen-movie queens spotted filming with Douglas Booth, Ashley Hinshaw and Lisa Esco By Jocelyn Vena Douglas Booth and Miley Cyrus on location for “LOL: Laughing Out Loud” Photo: Trago/ FilmMagic Miley Cyrus and Ashley Greene have taken the shoot for their upcoming flick “LOL: Laughing Out Loud” internationally. The ladies were photographed filming in Paris, after being spotted in Detroit earlier this summer. In stills taken on the set, Greene and Cyrus are pictured with various castmates filming “LOL,” which is due in 2011. In one photo, taken Monday (September 6), a smiling Cyrus, embraced at the waist by costar Douglas Booth, is standing alongside a pensive-looking Greene and other castmembers Ashley Hinshaw and Lina Esco. In other shots, Booth and Cyrus are snuggling on a double-decker bus, while Greene is on another bus. Booth and Cyrus also were filmed standing on a bridge chatting. Later, Cyrus, wearing a leather jacket, goes shopping with Hinshaw and Esco, and in another shot, she is alone and soaking wet, running through a puddle. Cyrus and Greene also were filmed walking arm in arm through Paris. Cyrus has said that in her post-“Hannah Montana” career , she’s looking to film more serious, mature movies, and that she intends to take a break from music to pursue her film career. “I’m working on lots of different films: drama, action, comedy,” she explained. “I like challenges, so I’m doing a little bit of everything.” “The more I make music that doesn’t truly inspire me, the more I feel like I’m blending in with everyone else,” she added. “I’m taking some time off [from music].” Given those plans, “LOL” seems like a step in the right direction. The film is about a group of young people, led by Cyrus (whose character is named Lola), who try to navigate high school peer pressures and romance in a tech-savvy world. It also stars Demi Moore as Cyrus’s mom. “She’s great,” Moore said of her co-star , “and I think that she is incredibly grounded. … [Miley] is a true professional, and she truly has a wonderful family. It really shows.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . ‘Jersey Shore,’ ‘Glee’ Casts To Present At 2010 VMAs

Mary J. Blige, Swizz Beatz to perform with Drake, while Bruno Mars will join B.o.B at Video Music Awards on Sunday. By Jocelyn Vena The cast of “Jersey Shore” Photo: MTV The 2010 VMAs may be going live in Los Angeles this year, but MTV viewers will get a glimpse of Seaside Heights when the cast of “Jersey Shore” appears to present on September 12. But it’s not all “GTL” at the MTV Video Music Awards: The just got a bit more “Glee”-ful, as castmembers of the hit Fox show, including Jane Lynch, Cory Monteith, Chris Colfer and Amber Riley will also be on hand to present on Sunday. And those aren’t the only big names just added to the presenters list. TV talk-show maven and former “American Idol” host Ellen DeGeneres (who will tape an episode of her show at the VMAs), “Burlesque” star Cher, VMA-nominated Katy Perry, “Star Trek” star Chris Pine, Rosario Dawson, the cast of “Jackass” including Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera, Steve-O are all presenting, along with reality-show starlet Kim Kardashian and Romeo of the Latin music sensation Aventura. Before the VMAs kick off at 9 p.m. ET, “Hills” star and newly named “Dancing With the Stars” contestant Audrina Patridge will be the official MTV International “2010 MTV Video Music Awards” red-carpet guest correspondent. Nicki Minaj will take the stage during the pre-show portion of the ceremony, while model Coco Rocha will host MTV.com’s “Red Carpet Report.” As if all of that wasn’t news enough, an already star-studded performance lineup has just gotten more so: Mary J Blige and Swizz Beatz will hit the stage with Drake, while Bruno Mars will join “Nothin’ on You” MC B.o.B . This latest round of celebrities joins previously announced performers including Eminem, Kanye West, Justin Bieber, Drake, Linkin Park and Usher. Those VMA acts should more than meet the show’s musical expectations, especially since host Chelsea Handler has said she won’t be doing any singing or dancing on the Nokia Theatre stage. “I’m not a dancer and I’m not a singer, and I don’t have the kind of ass that should be mooned. I mean it’s sweet, it’s a sweet ass, but it’s little and it’s white,” she joked. “I’m there to be funny, kind of, so hopefully I’ll just kind of doing that.” The 27th annual MTV Video Music Awards will be broadcast live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on September 12. The party starts with MTV News’ VMA Pre-Show at 8 p.m., followed by the main event at 9 p.m. ET. Fans can go to VMA.MTV.com (or text VMA to 97979 if they are Verizon subscribers) to vote for Best New Artist from now through September 12. Related Videos Gearing Up For The 2010 VMAs! Hermione Granger Was Right: Twilight Is All About The Sex

As we mentioned the other day, erstwhile witch and current Brown University matriculant Emma Watson was speaking to Brit mag Empire and bubbling on about her forthcoming kiss with Rupert Grint in the last volume of the Harry Potter movies when she gave a backhanded slam to everyone’s favorite dishwater dull vamp couple, Bella & Edward. But what did she mean exactly? Let’s unpack it.

Bozell Column: Teens and ‘Sextortion’

Children today are often so voracious and versed in the latest communications technology that they make their parents feel like Miles Standish and Betsy Ross. Three-fourths of young people between 12 and 17 now own cell phones, reports the Pew Internet and American Life Project.  And get this: 87 percent of those who send text messages told researchers that they sleep with or next to their phones. Half of teens send 50 or more text messages a day, and one in three send more than 100, or more than 3,000 texts a month. By contrast, only 30 percent of teenagers talk on those caveman “land line” phones. But all this cell-phone (not to mention Internet) usage carries new risks – even new crimes. Last year, the hot trend was sexting – teenagers sending each other lascivious messages (and often nude or semi-nude photographs). If a teenaged boy received a nude photo of a friend and e-mailed it to buddies or posted it on a Facebook or MySpace page, there was the very real possibility of being prosecuted for distributing child pornography. Now there’s a new and related crime in the court houses. It’s called “sextortion.” Federal prosecutors and child safety advocates are warning of an upswing in online sexual blackmail. Associated Press cited a case in Indianapolis where three teenage girls with a webcam yielded to online peer pressure to flash their breasts. A week later, one Indiana girl started getting threatening e-mails that her topless image would be sent to her friends on MySpace unless she posed for more explicit photos – and even videos – for him. This girl complied with his blackmail threats twice – and then the police and federal officials stepped in and indicted a 19-year-old male in Maryland. The victims might not even be in high school yet. The New Haven Register reported police received a complaint last November involving topless photos taken via webcam of a Conneticut girl “under 15 years old.” A 17-year-old Canadian boy was arrested in Montreal for threatening to post pictures he took over a webcam connection, demanding the young girl perform sex acts in front of the camera or he would post her topless picture on Facebook. Young men are now facing years in prison for this “sextortion.” In Alabama, Jonathan Vance, 24, was sentenced to 18 years in prison in April after he confessed to sending threatening e-mails extorting nude photos from more than 50 young women in Alabama, Pennsylvania and Missouri. In Wisconsin, 18-year-old Anthony Stancl deceitfully posed as a girl on Facebook to trick high school classmates into sending him nude photos, which he then used to extort girls for sex. He received a 15-year sentence. In California, federal officials say one 31-year-old man even stooped to remotely activating some girls’ webcams without their knowledge and recorded them undressing or having sex. Teenagers are obviously more vulnerable to blackmail because most parents would be shocked to learn their children are flashing their private parts on cell phones or Internet sites. One survey found 20 percent of teenagers and 33 percent of young adults aged 20 to 26 said they had sent or posted nude or semi-nude photos of themselves. AP quoted attorney Parry Aftab to sum it all up about this growing trend of online exhibitionism: “Kids are putting their head in the lion’s mouth every time they do this.” How sad it is for teens today. Innocence is gone. It’s impossible to avoid the omnipresence of sex in our popular culture, especially youth culture. It’s one thing for teenagers to feel like they’re sexually hyperactive. It’s another for every executive making TV shows, movies, and pop songs to multiply that thought endlessly to enrich themselves.  Even sexting is a trendy TV topic. Last season on the hit Fox show “Glee,” one cheerleader boasted to another that her sex texts were impossibly hot, as if this kind of cellular titillation is what every cool cheerleader should be doing.  The entertainment industry – including the social-media websites – are forcing parents to develop a whole new sophistication, telling children that they should never submit to posing for anything that they wouldn’t want parents, teachers, and ministers to see on the Internet.  This “sextortion” trend is nastier than mere sexting, because one momentary mistake by an otherwise moral child can lead her down a path from bending to peer pressure to involuntarily becoming an online sex slave. One mistake.

Chris Brown, Tyga Planning Fan Of A Fan Tour

Tyga explains success of ‘Deuces’ to Mixtape Daily : ‘The people chose the record.’ By Shaheem Reid Chris Brown and Tyga Photo: Courtesy of Young Money The O.D.: A Mixtape Daily Exclusive Chris Brown is in the #1 film in the country, “Takers,” and now that he’s done with Hollywood (for now), he’s going back to the lab. “Me, I’m definitely writing on other people’s projects. A lot of in-house stuff,” Brown said recently in L.A. “I got a lot of artists coming out. The single ‘Deuces’ features one of my artists K-Mac and Tyga [from Young Money]. I’m pushing forward. The movie’s out, so I’mma have fun.” “Deuces” is in the top 30 of Billboard ‘s Hot 100 charts and #1 on urban radio. The record’s success is simply due to fan support. It’s part of Brown and Tyga’s Fan of a Fan mixtape and skyrocketed once the video hit virally and on MTV Jams. “That was actually Chris’ idea,” Tyga told us about putting out a visual for the song. “I thought the record was dope. I thought it was dope for us to do that video. He got to explain his situation. It connects to his fans. His fans miss that from him. “I think the people chose the record,” Tyga added. “We put the mixtape out, and we asked them: What record do you like the most? They was like, ‘Deuces.’ It was always coming up. It was growing on YouTube as well, like 100,000 views a day on YouTube. It was his idea to shoot the video. My homie Colin Tilly, he’s done all my videos. He’s done everything. All my mixtape stuff to the bigger stuff I’m doing now. He got it right. It’s what people wanna see, what they wanna hear.” Despite the overwhelming success of Fan of a Fan, Tyga said he and Chris aren’t planning an official LP, but they are hitting the road together. “I don’t think you wanna drown people too much,” Tyga said about making a full album with Brown. “We’ve been doing a lot of stuff, though. He’s on my album. We’re actually working on a tour right now. A Fan of Fan Tour at the end of the year. It’ll be dope.” Tyga has an album coming out soon; it doesn’t have a release date yet. But his next mixtape, Well Done, will hit within the next couple of weeks. It’s going to be a Gangsta Grillz edition. “I feel like I had to deal with [DJ] Drama. He reminded of Wayne, when he did Dedication with him,” Tyga explained. “[Wayne] was going in on every beat. All the mixtapes I’ve been dropping, they’re close to albums. They’re more songs. They have more content. This one, I wanted to rap on everybody’s beat and murder every beat that’s out. It’s fun to do that. It’s easy. I can knock that out real fast. I think Drama is dope when you wanna link up and murder beats like that.” Some of the tracks Tyga is pilfering are Soulja Boy’s “Pretty Boy Swag” and Nicki Minaj’s “Your Love.” For other artists featured in Mixtape Daily, check out Mixtape Daily Headlines . Katy Perry Lives The ‘Teenage Dream’: A VMA Cheat Sheet!

Twice-nominated pop star owns the summer of 2010 with just-released album. By Jocelyn Vena Katy Perry in her “California Gurls” video Photo: Capitol Records Katy Perry kissed a girl and liked it back in 2008, but since then, she’s proven that she’s more than just a pop singer who dresses like a pinup and makes kooky little tunes. Perry has established herself as a woman to be reckoned with, and she has two chances to take home a Moonman at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards , airing live September 12 at 9 p.m. Shortly after performing the opening number at the 2009 VMAs — and publicly flirting with her now-fianc
