Eminem To Appear In Lipton Claymation Super Bowl Ad

Rapper is latest star to appear in Brisk beverage commercials. By Gil Kaufman Eminem Photo: John Shearer/ WireImage The Black Eyed Peas and Justin Bieber may have some additional superstar company on Sunday. Eminem will make an appearance during the Super Bowl in a commercial for Lipton Brisk Iced Tea, the New York Post reported on Monday (January 31). For a reported $1 million payday, Em will be remade into a claymation character in a commercial described by an unnamed insider as “very funny.” While it’s a rare promotional gig for the press-shy Detroit MC, he’s the latest star to appear in the series of stop-motion ads for the beverage, following previous spots starring metal icon Ozzy Osbourne — who is set to co-star with Bieber in a Super Bowl commercial for Best Buy — and go-to tattooed bad man actor Danny Trejo (“Machete”). Spokespersons for Eminem and Brisk parent company Unilever could not be reached for comment at press time about the ad, but it’s certainly expected to be a step up from the joke informercial he did last year to help launch Recovery. The Lipton commercial reportedly showcases a day in the life of Eminem. And after five years of reclusive behavior, Eminem appears poised to come out of his shell a bit more. He recently signed rapper Yelawolf and group Slaughterhouse to his Shady Records label . On the film front, he’s signed to star as a boxer in the drama “Southpaw” and is reportedly in talks to star as an ex-con in the movie “Random Acts of Violence.” Eminem’s also slated to perform at the Grammy Awards on February 13, where he’s got a leading 10 nominations, including the coveted Album of the Year for his comeback effort, Recovery. The rapper appears in a touching 30-second spot that promotes the awards show and showcases his legacy , from the loss of friend and fellow MC Proof to his struggles through drug dependency and his rise back to the top of the hip-hop game. Justin Bieber: Never Say Never Clip #1

Hello! Never Say Never , an upcoming  3-D documentary is centering on the teenage star singer Justin Bieber . Besides,  the clip contains an interview with the YouTube Wunderkind manager  Scott “Scooter” Braun . It is scheduled for release on February 11, 2011. The film follows performances from his 2010 “My World Tour.” It also includes scenes of Bieber as a young child, taken from home videos. The news for the film came through July 2010. Production began in summer 2010, up to his concert at Madison Square Garden. The film, whose name was not published until October 2010, was directed by Jon Chu . Chu says the film is a documentary, without any “acted-out scenes.” The MPAA gave the film a G rating, the first time to Paramount after Charlotte’s Web (2006) and the first G-rated film for MTV Films and Insurge Pictures ever since. At least was our experience viewing an early screening of Justin Bieber’s movie ” Never Say Never” at Paramount studios, just down the road from the “Glee” set, where two of Bieber’s own hits — “Baby” and “Somebody to Love” — were in axial motion, as the cast shot the show’s upcoming Valentine’s Day episode. It was a match coincidence bearing in mind how much heart the film come out of every turn – from Bieber’s earliest performances behind the drum kit at a neighbor’s house, to his time in Atlanta, where he wowed Usher and Island Def Jam head L.A. Reid, to middle school showcases, state fairs, and finally, the arena stage. One thing is for sure: it’s how musical this 16-year-old truly is and you get to see everything — from behind-the-scenes to above the stage, the dressing room where Bieber dresses, to the tour bus to his hometown, in Stratford, Ontario. The timing for “Never Say Never” couldn’t be better. On February 6, Bieber will appear in a Best Buy ad that airs during the Super Bowl. Two days after the movie’s release, Bieber will be at the Grammy Awards, where he’s nominated for Best New Artist and Best Pop Vocal album. Check the clip and share your comments. Willow Smith Previews ’21st Century Girl’

Pop singer was spotted filming a video for the song in L.A. over the weekend. By Jocelyn Vena Willow Smith on the set of the music video for “21st Century Girl” Photo: Eric Ford / On Location News Last year, Willow Smith wanted us to whip our hair back and forth, and on her new single, she proclaims to be a “21st Century Girl.” The up-and-coming pop star was spotted filming the video for the song, off her Roc Nation debut album, over the weekend. Willow was joined by her parents, Will and Jada, on the set, as well as her brother Jaden and his “Karate Kid” co-star Jackie Chan. The video was shot over two days in downtown L.A. In the clip, the pint-size pop star was seen in braids and wearing various multi-colored outfits that included neon colors and leopard print. “Hi, guys! I am on my video set and I just wanted to give you guys a sneak peek of the new sound of my song ’21st Century Girl,’ ” she said in a video posted on Facebook . In the video, Willow rocks bright green eye shadow, and in the background, several of her over-the-top looks can be seen hanging on racks. “So, hope you like it,” she said. “21st-century girl/ I do what I like/ 21st-century girl/ I’m taking you for a ride,” Willow sings. The song, much like her first single, “Whip My Hair,” is a club-banging anthem. “21st-century girl/ Gonna live it up/ Just live it up,” she goes on to sing over the heavily produced beat. Willow first got everyone’s attention last fall when she burst on the scene with her debut single. And she’s already got some big projects in the works. She’s set to perform at the Grammy Awards on February 13, and she is also going to hit the road with Justin Bieber when he tours Europe starting in March. Are The Arcade Fire Prepping A New Album?

Rep for the band calls a listing in the U.K.’s Music Week ‘just a rumor.’ By James Montgomery Arcade Fire’s Win Butler Photo: Scott Legato/ FilmMagic In the current issue of U.K. trade mag Music Week, between listings for All Time Low’s Dirty Work album and Asa’s Beautiful Imperfection, there exists a line that reads, simply: “Arcade Fire ‘TBC.’ ” It’s not exactly clear what it’s referring to, but that hardly matters to the band’s fans. Given that it’s published alongside other upcoming albums, they’ve taken it to mean just one thing: Sometime this year, the Arcade Fire are putting out an album. But will it be an entirely new album? A live disc? A collection of outtakes from their Grammy-nominated, chart-topping The Suburbs ? Well, as it turns out, none of that may even matter. Because according to a rep for the band, at the moment, all that talk is speculative, at best. “[It’s] just a rumor,” the spokesperson wrote in an e-mail to MTV News. “Nothing [is] confirmed yet.” A rep for Music Week could not be reached for comment about the listing. So while there’s nothing to report about a new album (at least not yet), Arcade Fire fanatics aren’t exactly hurting for headlines these days. Earlier this week, the band were announced as headliners at both the upcoming Coachella and New Orleans Jazz & Heritage festivals, and they’re also on tap to perform at the 53rd annual Grammy Awards on February 13, alongside Eminem, Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber. They’ll also head into the show up for three awards, including Album of the Year. Are you hoping the Arcade Fire already have a new album on the way? Let us know in the comments! Katy Perry Talks Grammy Performance, Tour

Singer says her Grammy appearance will ‘show a different side.’ By Jocelyn Vena Katy Perry Photo: Chelsea Lauren/ FilmMagic This is shaping up to be another big year for Katy Perry. She’s gearing up to release a new single, possibly “E.T.,” her dance ode to loving an alien, and she’s also set to perform at the Grammy Awards next month. “I’m going to do something beyond that,” Perry tells Zap2it about the performance, for which she’ll be pulling from hits like “Teenage Dream,” “Firework” and “California Gurls” and maybe even including a surprise or two. “I’m going to do a really cool, heartfelt song that I really love, and show a different side. I think I’ll do a medley of sorts, too, but not too much. It’ll be quite a surprise.” On February 20, just days after the February 13 Grammy broadcast, Perry will be kicking off her California Dreams Tour in Portugal, and she admits she’s working hard to get herself together for it. “It’s like training for the Olympics,” she said. “I’m off to the gym to build stamina … and I hate working out, but I have to go, because this is a really energetic show. It’s not like I’m going to make my fortune off of touring; I’m basically doing this as a big I.O.U. for all the love and support I’ve gotten. I need to go shake some hands and kiss some people.” Perry will bring the tour to the States in June, and she’s been tweeting all about her plans for the show. “[Opening act] @robynkonichiwa [Robyn] and I will be dancing up a storm watching your set! Can’t wait, BTE!… best tour ever!” she wrote . “I feel like this tour is building a bridge between the hipsters & the popsters. Hip-Pop is so 2011. Get wit it. #californiadreamstour!” Related Photos 2011 Grammy Performers Related Artists Katy Perry

Lady Gaga, Cee Lo, Katy Perry To Perform At Grammys

Eminem and Arcade Fire previously announced as performers on February 13 show. By Gil Kaufman Lady Gaga Photo: Kevin Winter/Getty Images The first slate of performers for the 53rd annual Grammy Awards were revealed Thursday morning (January 13), and the roster reads like a pop-music all-star lineup. MTV already broke the news on Wednesday that Eminem will cement one of the best professional years of his career by taking the stage on February 13 at the Staples Center, where he’s also up for 10 awards. And he’ll have plenty of chart-smashing company. Among the other nominees on the list to perform are Lady Gaga , Katy Perry, Cee Lo Green, Arcade Fire and Miranda Lambert. It will be the first Grammy performance ever for Lambert and Arcade Fire, while Cee Lo, Eminem, Gaga and Perry are making return engagements. For Eminem, the performance is the latest in a line of accomplishments tied to his career-renaissance album, Recovery, which is nominated for Album of the Year. The Detroit lyricist scored a pair of #1 singles from the album with “Not Afraid” and “Love the Way You Lie,” featuring Rihanna. With the most nominations for the night, he’s also likely to go home with a few more awards than he did at the 2009 Grammys, when his tepidly received Relapse snagged Best Rap Album. Eminem has already been featured in the show’s promotional campaign. A touching 30-second spot showcases Em’s musical legacy , from the loss of his friend Proof to his struggles through drug dependency and his rise back to the top of the hip-hop game. Joining him in the Grammy promo campaign on Wednesday were indie upstarts Arcade Fire, who are up for three awards for their album The Suburbs . Their “Music Is Life Is Music” ad was revealed on Wednesday, showing singer Win Butler singing passionately amid a collage of images that include a casket, a barn, roses, wedding rings and dripping chocolate bars. While 11-time Grammy winner Eminem leads the pack in nominations this year, Gaga is not far behind with six nods for The Fame Monster , while Perry and Green are each up for four, and Arcade Fire and Lambert are vying for three awards. Additional performers and presenters will be announced soon. Which Grammy performance are you most looking forward to? Talk about it in the comments! Exclusive: Eminem To Perform At The Grammys

Other performers for February 13 show will be announced Thursday. By Jayson Rodriguez Eminem Photo: Kevin Mazur/EM/WireImage Consider Eminem ‘s comeback complete. The superstar MC will take the stage at the 53rd annual Grammy Awards next month in Los Angeles, MTV News has learned exclusively. The Recording Academy will officially announce Em and other performers on Thursday; Pitchfork reported Wednesday (January 12) that Arcade Fire will also be performing at the awards show. The performance is the latest in a line of accomplishments for Eminem since he released Recovery, which is up for Album of the Year. The Detroit lyricist scored a pair of #1 singles from the album with “Not Afraid” and “Love the Way You Lie,” featuring Rihanna. Those songs helped Em earn 10 Grammy nominations . It’s quite a turnaround from his last project, Relapse. That album debuted at #1 but received mixed reviews, despite winning Best Rap Album at the 2009 Grammys. With Recovery, however, Em has returned to form. Now, he’s set to take center stage at the prestigious event. Twelve months ago, he joined Drake for the then-upstart’s “Forever” performance. But for this year’s telecast, the multiple Grammy winner will take top billing. He’s already been featured in the show’s promotional campaign . A touching 30-second spot showcases Em’s musical legacy , from the loss of his friend, fellow MC Proof, to his struggles through drug dependency and his rise back to the top of the hip-hop game. There’s no question the veteran MC will be the star of the festivities. In December, when nominations were revealed, the rapper led the pack, besting Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga, who received seven and six nominations, respectively. The Grammys air Sunday, February 13, at 8 p.m. ET on CBS. What song are you hoping Eminem performs at the Grammys? Let us know in the comments! Will Lady Gaga Perform At The Grammy Awards?

Gaga’s choreographer sends tweets suggesting that singer will take the stage at February 13 show. By Jocelyn Vena Lady Gaga Photo: Florian Seefried/ Getty Images Could Lady Gaga be performing at the Grammy Awards? Well, if Laurieann Gibson’s tweets are to be believed, the answer could be yes. Gaga’s choreographer may have spilled the beans about a possible performance via her Twitter account on Tuesday. “Grammy meeting performance [extraordinaire]!!! On its way… TeamBoomkack,” she wrote . She followed up the tweet with a “yes” when a fan inquired if that was a hint that the Born This Way singer would be taking the stage at the big show on February 13. She also retweeted a fan’s comment expressing excitement about what Gaga and Gibson have in store for the performance. Other than Gibson’s tweets, no confirmation from Gaga or the Grammy team has been made, but the Grammy Awards do land on the same day that Gaga planned to release the first single off her May album, lending some credence to the speculation that she may take the stage at the big show. This year Gaga is up for six awards , including Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for The Fame Monster, Best Female Pop Performance and Best Short Form Music Video for “Bad Romance,” Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals for “Telephone,” her track with Beyonc
