So for everyone who may have been lost watching Nicki’s performance at the Grammy’s, she was giving her alter ego Roman an exorcism. And walking down the red carpet with a Pope had more than people just talking. She has fired up all types of religious rights groups and receiving all types of hate mail and tweets. But in typical Nicki Minaj fashion she has this to say to all you haters. They sent me so much stuff and I was originally going to wear it during the performance, but when I got it, it was a little heavy for the performance. I said, “Hey, it’s only one way to do it and that’s the red carpet.” Understanding Why She Chose “Roman Holiday” For The Grammy’s: First of all, The Grammys chose ‘Roman Holiday.’ The producers of the Grammys came into the studio, and they heard ‘Roman Holiday’ and I could not play them another record after they heard that. They went crazy. I could have chosen to do a no-brainer pop song, but I can’t do it anymore. I have to stay true to what I’m doing. Seeing how comfortable I was last night, I was like, “Oh, my God”, this was the best choice because my fan base, the Roman Empire and the Barbz they understand every single thing that I’m doing because Roman was created two years ago. Roman isn’t something new just coming out. I’ve been writing the story for a very long time and yesterday was his coming out party. Laurianne [Gibson] is such a good friend of mine and she did an amazing job bringing my vision to life. It was very literal if you know who Roman is and what he’s all about but if you don’t know the Roman character then you have to kind of digest it And Last But Not Least This Is Dedicated To Her Haters : Were they offended by ‘the devil inside’??? C’mon Oprah, you know cotdamn well that we DGAF about your lil’ punk a$$ channel! Oprah issued a public apology on Monday for sending a controversial tweet on Sunday night. As the Grammys took many viewers over to CBS on Sunday, Oprah took to Twitter to ask people to tune into her cable network, OWN — “especially if you have a Nielsen box.” Oprah’s tweet drew criticism from followers, many of whom claimed that Oprah was “desperate” and “begging” viewers to watch her cable network. The more problematic portion of the tweet, however, was Oprah’s casual solicitation of Nielsen box owners. Oprah apologized for her tweet and said she deleted the message “at the request of Nielsen.” She added, “I intended no harm and apologize for the reference.” As Deadline Hollywood noted, Nielsen prohibits its clients from reaching out to homes with boxes in an attempt to change viewing habits and/or boost ratings. A Nielsen representative told Entertainment Weekly that the company was looking into the Sunday night incident. “In accordance with our policies and procedures, Nielsen is reviewing this incident with our clients and we may withhold, breakout and/or make a note in the ratings…We take any violation of our policy seriously and will work with clients to resolve the situation,” the Nielsen representative said. Oprah’s new show on OWN, “Oprah’s Next Chapter,” coincided with CBS’ airing of the Grammy Awards. The Sunday night episode featured the talk show queen sitting down with a Hasidic Jewish family who has never before watched television. So let us get this straight. The Grammy’s are on, Whitney Houston has just passed, Chris Brown is making his comeback performance, and Oprah wants us to watch her sit and talk to some Jewish folks?!?! GTFOHWTBS! I just watched the Grammy’s so I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say that they photoshopped 74 pounds off her…. See I get that Adele is a talent, I have ears…I hear it…but when she performs I wish I didn’t have eyes…I wish I was Stevie Wonder up in here…because as a hater of fat chicks…all I could wonder is how much soft serve ice cream she already ate out of her Grammy within the first hour of having it…. I’m judgemental and feel there is an importance in giving women a negative body image in order to lower their self esteem as well as encourage their fitness and starvation as to not be fat…all while getting me laid…. It’s simple logic….and here is Grammy star winner Adele’s simple cleavage….probably the highlight of her body….possibly the reason her boyfriend dumped her to inspire her award winning album….who cares…

All three artists came away with an armload of golden gramophones at a ceremony that artfully managed to celebrate the vibrancy of contemporary music while finding just the right way to pay tribute to fallen diva Whitney Houston . Adele swept the night’s major categories , taking Song, Record and Album of the Year on the way to putting a check beside all six of her nominations, with the Foos just behind with five wins and an absent Kanye nabbing four. But who really stole the spotlight at the show and who managed to win without nabbing any hardware? Let’s take a look at the true winners and losers at the ceremony. Winner: LL Cool J Not only did Uncle L get some serious prime-time exposure and represent for hip-hop on music’s biggest night, but he opened the show with a thoughtful, perfectly measured prayer for Houston that set the tone for the entire evening. Winner: Jennifer Hudson Note to any singer thinking about tackling “I Will Always Love You” ever again: Don’t bother. Hudson ‘s spine-tingling, perfectly pitched tribute to Whitney was a show-stopping cover of the trickiest, biggest song in the late singer’s repertoire that nearly stole the night. It was made all the more dramatic by the feeling that avowed superfan Hudson was legitimately on the verge of tears throughout the performance. Loser: Nicki Minaj Though it had plenty of energy, Nicki’s confusing, all-over-the-place “Exorcist”-meets-sexy-gothic/horror religious allegory was Grammy night’s most polarizing performance . Parts of “Roman’s Holiday” felt ripped right from the Madonna and Lady Gaga handbook of outrage — fitting, since Gaga’s former right-hand woman/choreographer, Laurieann Gibson, was Nicki’s collaborator — but some hip-hop purists felt she was reaching for the pop brass ring too hard. Loser: Anyone who thought they were going to win a major award As if there had been any question going into the night who would take the three biggies, it became clear, despite some tough competition from Best New Artist Bon Iver, Bruno Mars, the Foo Fighters, Gaga and Kanye, that this would be Adele’s night. Winner: Adele See above. Her comeback performance and well-deserved win were a shot in the arm to the recording industry and a win for the Academy for recognizing new talent. Winner: Foo Fighters The nice-guy Grammy-bait band had a big night and two high-energy performances that cemented their status as their generation’s most consistent, hard-working rock act. Plus, they pulled off that mashup with deadmau5 while totally keeping their dignity intact. Winner: EDM/Skrillex As if the millions of rave-happy kids across the planet needed the validation, Sunday night was the global coming-out party for the electronic dance music genre. Skrillex nabbed three awards , and the tribute segment featuring deadmau5 and David Guetta was one of the night’s most unexpected surprises. Loser: Lady Gaga Used to being the center of attention, Gaga kept her seat all night as she tried to look comfortable in a netted mask, metallic outfit and oversized golden cane. More importantly, while accepting the Best R&B Album award for F.A.M.E., he kept it brief and thanked the two constituencies that paved his road to redemption: his fans and the Recording Academy. Minaj welcomed her favorite alter ego onstage for her eye-popping performance of “Roman Holiday.” By Jocelyn Vena Nicki Minaj performs at the Grammys on Sunday Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage Nicki Minaj ‘s wacky alter ego Roman Zolanski made his Grammy debut Sunday night as the MC welcomed him to the stage during her eye-popping performance of “Roman Holiday.” The Brooklyn-bred MC kicked off the buzzed-about spectacle belting out the opening lines of Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded track in a confession booth. After she confesses her sins, a short filmed dubbed “The Exorcism of Roman” played, and when she returned to the stage, she was strapped to a board, surrounded by religious icons, priests, monks and the like. The theatrical performance was punctuated by the track’s thumping beat and soaring rap/sung portions by the always fierce Minaj. As the song began to wrap up, a priest stepped onto the stage and performed an exorcism on the pop star, who had broken free of her shackles during the song. Minaj was elevated off the stage through the power of prayer as the frenetic track closed out. While Minaj’s dedicated Barbs know all about her alter ego, not all Grammy viewers might be familiar with Roman, the subject of her upcoming album release. In the sea of Minaj personas , Roman stands out as the most zany. In fact, he was born from Minaj’s own anger, as the myth goes. There is even a family of Zolanskis. Roman’s mother, Martha, is another person that Minaj fans are familiar with. The British femme makes an appearance in the “Moment 4 Life” video . Roman’s appearance on Minaj’s tracks is hardly new. He once share a track with Eminem’s own alternate persona, Slim Shady, on the Pink Friday song “Roman’s Revenge.” “Everybody knows my favorite alter ego is Roman,” she once told MTV News . “[He’s] bad. That’s why I like Roman. I think I started liking Roman more because everybody else starting like Roman, so he became my favorite. People are expecting him to do some real craziness on the next album.” As she began to near the release of Roman Reloaded, she made it abundantly clear that she wanted him to be the star of her sophomore release. “And if you’re not familiar with Roman, then you will be familiar with him very soon,” she described him last year in the VMA press room. “He’s the boy that lives inside of me. He’s a lunatic and he’s gay, and he’ll be on there a lot.” As for why Minaj decided to play up religion during her performance, she once shared that aspects of the album (due out in April) will focus on the rehabilitation of Roman. “Well, he was there [in Moscow] secretly because [alter ego] Martha wanted him to go there,” Minaj told MTV News . “So they put him in this thing with monks and nuns; they were trying to rehabilitate him.” What did you think of Nicki Minaj’s Grammy performance?
