Justin Bieber Pestered By Paparazzi In Israel

Teen superstar tweets frustration, leading to two Twitter trends. By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber (file) Photo: Prince Williams/FilmMagic Justin Bieber has never been shy about his feelings for the paparazzi. In March, while celebrating his 17th birthday in Los Angeles, the teen sensation gave the paps who tried to snap a photo of him and lady love Selena Gomez the middle finger — although the Biebs soon apologized for it. Well, now that he’s abroad taking his My World tour international, he’s still finding himself pestered by the photographers’ prying lenses. On Tuesday, he took to Twitter to call out the paparazzi for trying to snap photos of him while he was in Israel taking in the sights. “Staying in the hotel for the rest of the week u happy?” he wrote. “People wait their whole lives for opportunities like this, why would they want to take that experience away from someone. They should be ashamed of themselves. Take pictures of me eating but not in a place of prayer, ridiculous.” Bieber was particularly upset that photographers didn’t leave him alone while he visited sites of spiritual significance. “You would think paparazzi would have some respect in holy places,” he lamented. “All I wanted was the chance to walk where Jesus did here in Israel.” Just one day before, Bieber tweeted about his excitement over being in Israel. “Just amazing place…not a bad day. just wish got a little more space and privacy from the paps to enjoy this time with my family. Thanks,” he wrote. “I’m in the holy land and i am grateful for that. I just want to have the same personal experience that others have here.” Bieber’s post then helped initiate his latest Twitter trend, #papsleavebiebsalone. As of press time it was one of the highest-rated trends, right behind the promoted #PlayBookHaiku. Other Bieber-related trends included #cheerupjustin and Holy Land. What do you think about the paparazzi bothering Bieber while he’s in Israel? Share your opinions in the comments. Jay-Z And Gwyneth Paltrow Swap Interviews

Pair posts Q&As with one another on their respective websites. By Alvin Blanco Jay-Z and Gwyneth Paltrow Photo: Dave M. Benett/ Getty Images Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow and Grammy-winning rapper Jay-Z come from different worlds, but that didn’t stop them from the becoming BFFs. The pair have performed together — as have Jay-Z and Gwyneth’s husband, Chris Martin — in the past. And on Tuesday (April 12), the two buddies traded questions with one another on their respective websites. Hova interviewed Paltrow on his recently debuted lifestyle site Life + Times ( LifeandTimes.com ), and Paltrow interviewed Hova for the GOOP.com online newsletter she launched in 2008. The Q&A on Jay-Z’s site is titled “Straight Outta Compton?” It turns out the actress with the singing chops got turned on to N.W.A. in Los Angeles while she was still in high school. “I first was exposed to hip-hop when I was about 16 (1988) by some boys who went to college,” Paltrow said. “The Beastie Boys were sort of the way in for us preppie kids. We were into Public Enemy, Run-DMC and LL Cool J. But then I went to L.A. the summer between my junior and senior years of high school and I discovered N.W.A., which became my obsession. I was fascinated by lyrics as rhythm and how Dre had a such different cadence and perspective from say, Eazy-E, who I thought was one of the most ironic and brilliant voices hip-hop has ever had.” While Jay-Z’s line of questions aimed to discover the root of Paltrow’s musical tastes and affection for hip-hop music (she prefers the Notorious B.I.G. over Tupac Shakur), the actress’ inquiries for the rapper focused on his new website and his personal inspirations (Jean-Michel Basquiat, Muhammad Ali and Mario Batali among them). But any sense of journalistic impartiality went out the window with her last question: “You are the coolest man on Earth, how the f did you get like that?” To this Hov answered, “I’m around great women, starting with my mom. Women keep men cool. The hotter the chick, the cooler the guy … that sounds like a really bad rap line!” Related Artists Jay-Z

The teen stars got cozy at annual Vanity Fair Academy Awards bash. By Jocelyn Vena Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber arrive at the Vanity Fair Oscar party Photo: Michael Buckner/ WireImage While they’ve never spoken publicly about dating one another, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez proudly had their relationship on display when they hit up the famous Vanity Fair Oscar party right after the 83rd Academy Awards telecast wrapped. The pair didn’t do press on the red carpet, but they looked relaxed as they posed together for pictures. Bieber’s arm was around Gomez’s waist as they smiled for photos. She was wearing a red Grecian-style gown. Bieber was in an all-black tuxedo with a red pocket square, matching his date for the night. They took photos as a pair, but also individually. Inside the party, Bieber and Gomez posed for pictures with fellow teen star Hailee Steinfeld, held hands and looked at each other’s phones while they texted inside the fete. The glamorous party was attended by some of Hollywood’s biggest names, including Gwyneth Paltrow, besties Taylor Swift and Emma Stone, couples like Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake, as well as Oscar winner Natalie Portman and her beau, Benjamin Millepied. Among the other A-listers there were Jamie Foxx, Jake Gyllenhaal, 50 Cent, Reese Witherspoon, Michelle Williams and Jennifer Hudson, to name a few. “Good luck to my friend Hailee Steinfeld tonight on the #oscars. young people going for theirs! also want Christian Bale to win. #TheFighter,” Bieber tweeted early on Sunday, before adding this message about his fame: “im never gonna change … i will always remember … i will always be that kid from Stratford … I will always be grateful.” For her part, Gomez simply tweeted , “Vanity Fair fun!” She included a photo of herself with Bieber, Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun, and his date. Oscars Best And Worst Fashions: Experts Weigh In!

MTV News asked a pair of fashion-industry notables to share their choices for the best and worst looks in Oscars history. By Jocelyn Vena Miley Cyrus at the 2010 Oscars Photo: Getty Images The Academy Awards are just days away and that means that soon enough some of Hollywood’s biggest names will be hitting the red carpet while donning some of the most haute couture they can get their hands on. But, before they hit the carpet, MTV News reached out to some fashion-world experts and asked them to weigh in on the event’s best and worst looks ever, which the stars perhaps should take note of before they decide on what to wear. We caught up with fashion-industry maven and People’s Revolution founder Kelly Cutrone, as well as Faran Krentcil, digital director at Nylon magazine, who divulged their favorite and least favorite looks from Oscars history. Best Cameron Diaz in Oscar de la Renta, 2010 : Both Cutrone and Krentchil agreed that this was a winning look for the star. “On another actress it might have looked a little overdone, but Cameron managed to make the dress look like it was just lying on her bedroom floor, and she grabbed it on her way out of the bath. That’s true star power, isn’t it?” Krentcil explained. Maggie Gyllenhaal in Dries Van Noten, 2010 : “I think that it’s not that hard to put a beautiful dress on a girl and get away with it, and then there are people who really understand it … I think that Maggie Gyllenhaal was a great example of that,” Cutrone revealed. “Dries was not obvious; it’s an inside brand. It’s really about beauty and aesthetic.” Miley Cyrus in Jenny Packham, 2010 : Cutrone felt that Miley’s look bridged the singer/actress from, well, tween star to teen star. She explained, “The truth of the matter is she has gone from a Disney star to a Vanity Fair cover girl and it brought it back to the middle. [She] really shined.” Natalie Portman in Lanvin, 2005 : “This dress was slightly see-through and the color of a gasping sea monster,” Krentcil recalled of the outfit. “And its floaty shape and grey-blue-green-purple shimmer made it beyond chic.” Anne Hathaway in Valentino, 2009 : Krentcil didn’t have much more to say than “yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes,” about why the beaded, white sheath worked so well for this year’s Oscars co-host. Worst Charlize Theron in Dior, 2010 : “She looked ridiculous and she’s so beautiful. She deserved to wear something better,” Cutrone noted, adding about the outdated nature of the dress, “It looked like a Gaultier throwback piece, not like Dior. I didn’t know Nancy Reagan was working for Dior.” Jennifer Lopez in Giorgio Armani Priv

And Then Gwyneth Paltrow Helped Broker Peace Between Ryan Murphy and Kings of Leon

There was a time when Gwyneth Paltrow was just an Academy Award winning movie star. Now she’s the type of all-encompassing media conglomerate that appears on Glee , the Grammys , the Billboard charts , the Oscars, and even in actual movies. (Yes, Country Strong happened.) And perhaps its time to add “mediator” to Paltrow’s ever-growing list of talents.
