Katy Perry Isn’t Looking To Top Herself On Next Album

By Christina Garibaldi Katy Perry Photo: Theo Wargo/ Getty Images One would think that after Katy Perry releases Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection, the final chapter of her highly successful album Teenage Dream, later this month, she would be ready to take a break. Think again. Following the chart-topping success of her single “Part of Me,” which she insists is not a jab at former husband Russell Brand , Perry has already begun thinking about the concept of her next album. “I don’t want to jinx myself ’cause I haven’t stepped into the studio. I have an idea — I always have an idea. Like, I have an idea for the next two records; it just depends,” Perry told MTV News in Los Angeles. “What I say is, I’m gonna kind of put my finger out there and test the pulse or test the waters of what the world wants, or what I need to say, which is probably most important rather than what the world wants.” Coming off the success of Teenage Dream, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart and produced five #1 singles, Perry is not looking to outdo herself on her next musical effort. She’s just going to follow her instincts. “I don’t want to give too much away. I also don’t want to play the game of trying to continually top myself because eventually it may not always go as I planned,” the singer said. “I may not get to be able to have another #1, so I’m just gonna do what feels right for me artistically. I’m very inspired at the moment, and so I’m gonna follow my heart as I always have and hopefully people will like it.” Perry, who also revealed that she “has a lot to say” on her next album, told “Saturday Night Live” star Kristen Wiig in Interview magazine that her music is “about to get real f—ing dark.” But she promises that her die-hard fans will still be able to relate to this next step in her musical journey. “I imagine that maybe my next record would be a little bit more of an artistic venture,” Perry said. “Not that I’m going to self-sabotage either and be like, ‘I’m going to make a crazy record that nobody really understands.’ ” What do you hope to hear on Katy Perry’s next album? By Jocelyn Vena Demi Lovato Photo: Universal Music Group Demi Lovato is no stranger to being honest with her ups and downs. When she dropped Unbroken last fall, several of the cuts, including the album’s staggering lead single, “Skyscraper,” seemed to reflect on her own personal journey. Recorded after she left a treatment center in 2011, the album was full of not only girl-power anthems, but also reflective ballads about the struggles of loving both yourself and others. “The album I wanted to keep upbeat and uplifting; I didn’t want to come out with this depressing album. I think it’s important that I kept a lot of my heart open on the album because I talked about my personal issues,” she told MTV News about the release before Tuesday’s premiere of her MTV documentary, “Stay Strong,” which also touches on many of her personal issues and trying her best to put her life back together after entering rehab in October 2010. “But I also had some fun dance songs on there for people to enjoy,” she added about the album. Whereas some pop stars tend to shy away from their own lives on their albums, Lovato fully embraced the joys and the sorrows of her life. “I think it’s nice being able to tell the truth and being able to really talk about these issues rather than hiding it and not talking about it and sharing it,” she added. “So I think I enjoy it more than anything I’d done before when I was trying to hide everything.” The album’s next single is “Give Your Heart a Break.” Lovato is set to welcome fans into her life when “Stay Strong” debuts on Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET/PT on MTV followed by a live Q&A with the star during “The After Show” at 11 p.m. ET/PT. “I’ve just been working at it a day at a time and have been trying to continue to fight my hardest,” she told us about still dealing with her problems in the public eye. “And I’ve had my ups and downs, and I’m still trying, but overall it’s been a really great journey, and I’m thankful for everything that I’ve been through.” Don’t miss “Demi Lovato: Stay Strong,” debuting Tuesday, March 6, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on MTV. Davy Jones Cause Of Death Was Heart Attack

An autopsy confirmed that Monkees singer Davy Jones died as a result of a heart attack. By Gil Kaufman Davy Jones Photo: Michael Ochs Archives/Getty Image A day after the sudden passing of former Davy Jones, the medical examiner’s office in Martin County, Florida completed an autopsy on the former teen heartthrob on Thursday morning and concluded he died of a heart attack. 
 According to E! Online, tests revealed that the 1960s heartthrob 
 was felled by ventricular fibrillation due to severe coronary atherosclerosis. In other words, he died as a result of an abnormal heart rhythm caused by the blocking of blood flow to the heart due to hardening of the arteries. Toxicology tests could take another six to eight weeks, but authorities don’t believe that there is anything else to blame for the 66-year-old “Daydream Believer” singer’s death. TMZ reported on Thursday that Jones suffered the heart attack at a ranch near his Florida home where the former jockey wannabe was visiting his horses. A ranch hand saw Jones in distress in his car and called an ambulance, which took the 1960s TV star to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Jones is survived by his third wife, Jessica, and four children from previous marriages. His former TV band mate paid tribute to Jones following his death, with drummer/singer Mickey Dolenz saying in a statement, “the time we worked together and had together is something I’ll never forget. He was the brother I never had and this leaves a gigantic hole in my heart.” Peter Tork added, “It is with great sadness that I reflect on the sudden passing of my long-time friend and fellow adventurer, David Jones. His talent will be much missed; his gifts will be with us always. Adios to the Manchester Cowboy.” Guitarist Michael Nesmith posted a lengthy tribute on his Facebook page, writing, “That David has stepped beyond my view causes me the sadness that it does many of you. I will miss him, but I won’t abandon him to mortality,” he said. “I will think of him as existing within the animating life that insures existence. I will think of him and his family with that gentle regard in spite of all the contrary appearances on the mortal plane.

 David’s spirit and soul live well in my heart, among all the lovely people, who remember with me the good times, and the healing times, that were created for so many, including us.

After emotional hometown dates , The Bachelor jetted off to Switzerland for the penultimate episode of the season (the Women Tell All special is next week). Nicki Sterling, Lindzi Cox and Courtney Robertson vied for the final two roses doled out by Ben Flajnik … as did another familiar face in a non-shocking return. Could Kacie Boguskie cajole her way back into the mix? Clearly contrived time-filling plot twists aside, Courtney preemptively shifted into damage control mode and Lindzi made her case as the season’s dark horse. Yes, we went with a horse joke there.
