Keri Hilson attended the 59th Annual BMI Pop Awards last night where she sung Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing” to honor songwriter David Foster who wrote the ballad for the “Bodyguard” soundtrack. We hated her performance , but we loved her dress. The floor-length gown with plunging neckline and gold and silver sequins looked great on her figure, but she could have toned it down with the hair & make-up – they make her look older than she really is. Keri Hilson is testing all kinds of new boundaries with her leopard print threads, new music and now… NAKDEDNESS!!! It’s that time of year, when Allure magazine releases its annual nude issue and Mz. Hilson decided to get involved with all the pure nakedness. KERI HILSON Before all her hit songs, Hilson worked behind the scenes as a successful songwriter. Stepping out of the background was not as effortless as Hilson, 28, now makes it look. “The transition to being in front of the camera was very, very difficult,” she says. “Everyone has their idea of what you should look like. ‘You need to get into the gym.’ ‘You need to wear less clothes.’ ‘Wear dresses and skirts.’ ‘Put a weave in.’ ‘Cut your hair.’ ‘Color your hair.’ There are so many ways that others tug at you.” To Hilson, posing naked stripped her back down to her real self. “We do a lot of things to seek validation: I have to get more expensive handbags or fake lashes or fake boobs. This shoot was about dropping all that.”
Keri Hilson is just one of several celebrities supporting H&M’s Fashion Against AIDS initiative. In the campaign pics, she is seen posing in a slogan jumpsuit from this Spring’s unisex collection. The collection, of which 25% of sales will be donated to HIV/AIDS prevention projects, is available online and in H&M’s Divided department from April 26th. Akon joined the effort as well, saying, “I’ve had a lot of friends who’ve been in the situation where their friends and family have been affected by HIV. As I travel the world, I see how much HIV affects people. It’s not like we have a cure for HIV, we only have prevention. Make sure you are protected so that you don’t ever have to worry about it.
