Drake Covers The Fader’s 100th Issue, Talks 2015 Glo-Up, Becoming A Target, And Breaks His Silence On Meek Mill’s Twitter Fingers

Drake Covers The Fader Issue 100 In the latest issue of The Fader , Drizzy lets his beard flourish and talks about the joys of finding a new way to flow and how the material on If You’re Reading This really wasn’t quite as exciting for him as it seemed to be for the rest of the world. Drake also finally spoke for the first time on ending Meek Mill’s career addressing Meek in the studio two times to very little response… “I’m just gonna bring it up ‘cause it’s important to me,” he says. “I was at a charity kickball game—which we won, by the way—and my brother called me. He was just like, ‘I don’t know if you’re aware, but, yo, they’re trying to end us out here. They’re just spreading, like, propaganda. Where are you? You need to come here.’ So we all circled up at the studio, and sat there as Flex went on the air, and these guys flip-flopped [about how] they were gonna do this, that, and the third.” He recorded “Charged Up” that very night and released it the next day on the same episode of OVO Radio that saw the debut of “Hotline Bling.” “Given the circumstances, it felt right to just remind people what it is that I do,” Drake says, a proud smile creeping into his face, “in case your opinions were wavering at any point.” When a reply to “Charged Up” didn’t come, Drake could hardly believe it. “This is a discussion about music, and no one’s putting forth any music?” he says, speaking with a furrowed brow, as if reliving his incredulity. “You guys are gonna leave this for me to do? This is how you want to play it? You guys didn’t think this through at all—nobody? You guys have high-ranking members watching over you. Nobody told you that this was a bad idea, to engage in this and not have something? You’re gonna engage in a conversation about writing music, and delivering music, with me? And not have anything to put forth on the table?” And thus…Drake made the conscious decision to end it altogether and we were all blessed with “Back To Back.” It was then that he decided to just go ahead and do another song. “I was like, ‘I’m gonna probably just finish this.’ And I know how I have to finish it. This has to literally become the song that people want to hear every single night, and it’s gonna be tough to exist during this summer when everybody wants to hear [this] song that isn’t necessarily in your favor.” It’s cold in the 6, huh? Meek Mill Goes Off On Fan For Holding Up A Drake Sign At His Concert [Video]

Meek Mill Calls Out Fan For Holding Up Drake Poster At His Show While headlining this year’s Fool’s Gold Day Off festival in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, Meek Mill dived head-first right into the center of his feelings when he spotted a fan in the crowd, trolling him with some sort of Drake sign . Instead of just ignoring the blatant aggression (no one OVO affiliated was even in the festival lineup), the Philly rapper got so irate and distracted from his set that he paused several times in between songs to call out the fan for trying him… And things quickly escalated to threats and personal confrontation from there. Jeesh. If this is all it takes to get Meek this hot, he must just smash his iPhone into a zillion pieces whenever “ Back to Back ” pops up on Pandora. Betcha He Ain’t Dancin’ Now: Rich Homie Quan Suing Record Label For $2 Milli In Unpaid Wages

Rich Homie Quan Leaves Label, Files Lawsuit Y’all weren’t listening when A Tribe Called Quest told you #IndustryRuleNumber4080? Looks like Rich Homie Quan had to find out the hard way because he is now suing his label, claiming they owe him MILLIONS!!! Check out the following statement, released today: Rap star Rich Homie Quan (Dequantes Lamar) today announced that he has filed suit against Girvan Henry, Think It’s A Game Entertainment, LLC (TIG Entertainment) and Fly Merchandise Enterprises, LLC . Rich Homie Quan is seeking more than two million in unpaid earnings from his label and its founder, and has severed ties with Henry and TIG Entertainment+. According to court documents filed today with the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, Atlanta Division, (Case No. 1:15 -CV-2775-TCB), Quan claims he and TIG Entertainment were engaged in a partnership to sell his music, and that due to breaches of that partnership agreement, he has terminated his partnership with Henry’s TIG Entertainment. Court documents outline 12-counts that claim Henry has not accounted for, nor paid monies earned by Quan, including royalties, for at least four albums, which featured songs including “Flex” and RIAA Gold Certified, international hit “Type of Way.” The suit names Def Jam Recordings via a partnership with Henry, and Trinidad James’ record label, Gold Gang Music Group, LLC, by which Def Jam paid Henry and Gold Gang $550,000 and distributed “Type of Way.” Quan says Henry and Gold Gang had no rights to the song’s masters and he never signed a record deal with Def Jam or Gold Gang. The claim also states that Henry misappropriated funds garnered from Def Jam for “Type of Way” when Henry purchased property in Atlanta (244 Peters St., Atlanta, Ga.) with said money. In addition, Quan claims that Henry, through Fly Merchandise Enterprises, LLC fraudulently claimed ownership of a logo that included Quan’s name and Henry profited from the use of that logo. Henry misrepresented ownership of Rich Homie Quan’s name, likeness and logo marks by filing two trademark applications with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (U.S. Reg. Nos. 4,483,756 and 4,746,133). Quan’s litigation attorney, Leron Rogers , a partner at Lewis, Brisbois, Bisgaard & Smith LLP Attorneys, stated: “Unfortunately this is a classic case of a music artist being ripped off by those claiming to have his best interest in mind. Quan has more than delivered on his part of the partnership, delivering hit songs that have sold hundreds of thousands of copies. Mr. Henry has taken advantage of Quan, and now it’s time for him to receive his just due.” Co-Counsel, Brianna Williams of Mélange, a Williams Firm, echoed Mr. Rogers’ sentiments stating, “Quan has worked really hard to achieve his vision of becoming a successful artist. He deserves to be compensated in a fair and just manner. While it is unfortunate that he has had to seek resolution of this issue through the legal system, we fully expect that justice will prevail.” Damn, if this is true we hope this brother gets the money owed to him! He has a kid to feed!

Petty Papi: Drake Performs “Back To Back” Against A Wall Of Meek Mill Memes At OVO Fest [Video]

Drake Performs Back To Back (Meek Mill Diss) At OVO Fest Although he’s already done a decent job of burying Meek Mill on his own, Drake let the fans do some of the dirty work during his first live performance of “Back to Back (Meek Mill Diss)” at his annual OVO Fest in Toronto. Rather than make any grand statements or speeches about Meek’s bitter battle against him…Aubrey simply let a barrage of fan-made memes do the talking while he spit the bars that potentially spelled the beginning of the end for poor Meek: But that’s not even where the shade began for Drake today. Peep what Drizzy wore to rehearsal earlier: PURE comedy! Rumor has it Drake is dropping YET ANOTHER Meek Mill diss entitled “3 Peat” at or after the show tonight. But only time will tell if Drizzy plans to kick Meek while he’s down like that. In the meantime, hit the flip for more of Drake’s meme-tastic diss track performance and more from backstage at OVO Fest… Instagram

David Banner Says Lil Wayne Is Just As Bad As Birdman When It Comes To Business

David Banner Says Lil Wayne Still Owes Him Money For Production David Banner says Lil Wayne is no better than his “daddy.” While Wayne is severing ties with Cash Money over unpaid royalties and stifling creative conditions, David Banner says he’s facing the same issue over his work on The Carter III years ago. Via TMZ : If Lil Wayne doesn’t know what the word “ironic” means, he does now … he’s being sued by a rapper for not forking over royalties … which is exactly his gripe with Birdman. Rapper David Banner claims he signed a contract in 2008 with Wayne’s Young Money Records to produce two songs for Wayne — “La La” and “P*ssy Monster” — featured on “Tha Carter III.” Banner claims Young Money told him in 2012 he was owed $138,787.19 in royalties … but he never saw a cent. Banner also claims Young Money has gone radio silent, so he has no idea how much more he’s owed. Banner also says the same thing happened in 2009 with “Streets Is Watchin.” He claims he was told he’s owed more than $15,392.57. As TMZ first reported, Wayne is locked in a lawsuit against Birdman and Cash Money Records for $51 million … claiming he’s owed money for his never-released album, “Tha Carter V.” Damn…is Wayne really complaining about Birdman doing to him exactly what he does to other people? Well, according to Wayne’s reps, David Banner really needs to be mad at Birdman as well. A rep for Wayne tells TMZ … Lil Wayne was a Cash Money artist and it was their responsibility to pay David Banner, not Wayne. Well…like father like son?
