New Sherlock Holmes Trailer: Robert Downey, Jr., Jude Law & Rachel McAdams Return!

Seeing everything is Sherlock Holmes’ curse. So the titular character played by Robert Downey, Jr., tells us in the new trailer for Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows . Fortunately, he’s got his trusty sidekick Watson (Jude Law) and Adler (Rachel McAdams) along for the ride. The task at hand? Only thwarting the foremost criminal mind in all of Europe, Dr. Moriarty. The stakes? All of Western civilization, pretty much. No pressure. Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows Trailer It appears that eveningwear is donned, witty lines are exchanged, plot twists are undertaken and stuff blows up, making for an enjoyable cinematic ride. With two and a half months until David Fincher’s adaptation of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo hits theaters, another eerie behind-the-scenes video has appeared on the mysterious Tumblr account Mouth Taped Shut . This latest installment in the film’s viral marketing campaign offers audience members a sneak peak into the making of that scandalous Dragon poster — this one shaped like a razor blade and printed on sheets of metal — set against Trent Reznor’s soundtrack.

Contraband Trailer: Mark Wahlberg Acts Tough, Stuff Explodes!

In Contraband , Mark Wahlberg stars as a reformed hoodlum who thought he was out of “the game,” only to find himself pulled back into it by his family. Having gone straight, but needing to save a brother-in-law who got in over his head, he rejoins his old crew for one last job. Funny how that works out! Giovanni Ribisi plays what appears to be the main bad guy in this explosive – seriously, a lot of stuff blows up – film. Contraband hits theaters January 13. The stupid-and-proud-of-it comedy Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star hits theaters this weekend, and while we didn’t get a chance to pre-screen this porntastic picture, the presence of (fake) porn stars and Mr. Skin Nudity Hall-of-Famer Christina Ricci will hopefully bring some good nude juju to the R-rated farce. Bucky Larson is the 31st film from Adam Sandler ‘s production company Happy Madison Pictures , and although Sandler is known for his crude, rude comedic sensibilities, there isn’t as much nudity in his movies as you might think. While it’s common for successful directors , writers and actors to offer advice to their aspiring peers, it’s less common to hear about an established animator encouraging his fellow artists with kind words. Nevertheless, that is what Pixar’s own Austin Madison ( Up , Ratatouille ) has done via a thoughtful, handwritten note that he contributed to the Animator Letters Project in hopes of motivating all of the gifted future animators amongst us. Take a look at the letter, which quotes Peter Jackson and appears to be inspirational to anyone in a creative field, below.

If you haven’t yet heard about David Robert Mitchell’s ensemble indie The Myth of the American Sleepover , here’s your one-sentence primer: the 2010 coming-of-age drama earned a Special Jury Award and numerous comparisons to John Hughes films at last year’s SXSW festival for its delicate portrayal of teen romance. Finally, the film hits theaters this July and we’ve got the official trailer.

Pacific Rim Sets July 2013 Release Date

The summer of 2013 just got a little more exciting: Warner Bros. has announced that they’ll release Guillermo del Toro ‘s sci-fi action pic Pacific Rim on July 12, 2013. The alien invasion film is set to star Idris Elba , Charlie Hunnam , and Charlie Day, and begins filming this November. Del Toro has described the Travis Beacham-penned project as his biggest film to date, so expect a summer monsterpalooza, del Toro-style. [ Deadline ]
