So Lena Dunham has lost a lot of weight recently, right? A considerable amount of weight, really. But the thing is, she doesn’t want any of us to talk about it. “But why?” you might be thinking. “She keeps talking about it herself, what does she expect?” And those are good questions — Lena started losing weight a few months ago, and she’s been open about the reason behind it. In a February interview with Howard Stern, she explained that “Donald Trump became president and I stopped being able to eat food .” “Everyone’s been asking like, ‘What have you been doing?'” she went on. “And I’m like, ‘Try soul-crushing pain and devastation and hopelessness and you, too, will lose weight.'” In January, she called a Glamour cover in which some cellulite was visible on her legs a ” triumph for womankind ,” so she’s clearly comfortable with talking about any and all aspects of her body and her weight. But in a great big long Instagram post she shared yesterday, she insists that she’s not cool with people talking about her weight. We know that because the photo she shared was a screenshot from an article titled “People Need to Stop Talking About Lena Dunham’s Weight.” In her caption, she writes “I feel I’ve made it pretty clear over the years that I don’t give even the tiniest of sh-ts what anyone else feels about my body.” “I’ve gone on red carpets in couture as a size 14. I’ve done sex scenes days after surgery, mottled with scars .” “I’ve accepted that my body is an every-changing organism,” she writes, “not a fixed entity — what goes up must come down and vice versa.” “I smile just as wide no matter my current size because I’m proud of what this body has seen and done and represented. Chronic illness sufferer. Body-shaming vigilante. Sexual assault survivor. Raging hottie. Just like all of YOU.” And this is where it gets weird — she says that “Right now I’m struggling to control my endometriosis through a healthy diet and exercise.” What about Trump though, girl? Why the change in the story? Regardless, Lena continues by saying that her weight loss “isn’t a triumph and it also isn’t some sign I’ve finally given in to the voices of trolls.” “Because my body belongs to ME — at every phase, in every iteration, and whatever I’m doing with it, I’m not handing in my feminist card to anyone.” “I refuse to celebrate these bullsh-t before-and-after-pictures,” she concludes. “Don’t we have infinitely more pressing news to attend to?” … K. It’s just strange because … like, of course her body belongs to her. And as someone who thoroughly enjoys posing nude or nearly nude at every opportunity, she should realize that people are going to notice big changes. Pointing out her weight loss isn’t somehow an anti-feminist move, and it’s not like people are saying “Thank goodness she finally lost some weight, she’s finally a real person now!” Everyone loves a good weight loss before-and-after. Sad news for music fans, and really, for music itself: Chuck Berry has died. He passed away on Saturday, March 18th, from unknown causes. He was 90 years old, and an absolute legend. While we don't know exactly what caused his death, we do know that paramedics were called to his Missouri home and found him unresponsive. They tried to revive him, but they were unsuccessful. Bella Thorne is getting a lot of attention for her love life these days, but it hasn’t all been positive. Back in December, Thorne began dating Charlie Puth . Normally, that wouldn’t be such a big deal, but fans accused of Bella of beginning a relationship with Charlie while she was still dating Tyler Posey, and the backlash was severe. Posey and Puth both have massive online followings, and when Charlie publicly called Bella out for using him as a cheating partner without his knowledge, fans lost it. Getting caught (allegedly) cheating on Posey could have had a devastating effect on Throne’s career (These days, she’s more famous for her personal life than for her acting career.), but she weathered the storm well. She laid low for a bit, but now she’s back to posting daily selfies on Instagram and interacting with fans on Twitter. What’s more, she’s re-entered the dating game with a high-profile new dude. Several outlets are reporting today that Thorne and Chandler Parsons are officially a couple. Parsons, a forward for the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies, has been spotted with Thorne on several occasions, and there’s been widespread speculation that they’re hooking up. Possibly due to Parsons’ reputation as a ladies man, it was widely assumed to be a “friends with Benefits” scenario. Now, however, Bella is giving indications that she and Parsons are an item: Yes, that’s Bella wearing (what we assume to be) her man’s jersey with his number painted on her face. Either she and Chandler are dating, or he’s got a very committed stalker on his hands. We’re assuming it’s the former but who knows? Increasingly combative former spouses Kailyn Lowry and Javi Marroquin got into another massive argument on last night's Teen Mom 2 . Big surprise there … but what was this one about? In the clip below, Kailyn Lowry admits cheating on Javi Marroquin while he was deployed with the Air Force, or so it appears at the end. But it may not be that simple. Lowry’s ex came over to apologize, but within 30 seconds, he blasts her for banging other dudes and defends breaking into her house . Marroquin admits he entered Lowry’s home through the basement, and says he's sorry for his behavior, but doesn't act like it whatsoever. “You have to understand how crazy you’ve made me for six months,” Javi told Kailyn after she said not to apologize if there's a “but.” “You expect me to come home and everything is supposed to be cherries and flowers,” Javi said of their split and his return from deployment. Lowry said how she doesn’t care if he’s still listed as an owner of the house, he can't just do what he did after they're getting a divorce. His response? I sure as s–t can and I will! “If I want to come here tomorrow morning and randomly break a window to get in here I can!” Marroquin says, sounding almost unhinged. It's no surprise that Kailyn sought a protective order , citing alleged harassment and erratic behavior (he did not physically abuse her). Javi proceeded to say that he didn't realize at the time that Kailyn was going to be “sleeping with all these dudes” while he was overseas. Lowry was PISSED at that comment. She fired back, “I’m not 'sleeping with all these dudes.' Don’t sit here and try to make me sound like some ho while you were gone!” “I’m sorry that we weren’t going to work it out. Yeah I slept with someone else! Whoop dee f–king do,” Kailyn says in disgust. There are a few ways to interpret this: 1. An admission of cheating on Javi; 2. An admission that she did sleep with someone else, but only after the couple decided to end their troubled marriage; 3. She's not confirming or denying that she slept with any guy(s), but making the point that it wouldn't change anything. Of course, we now know that Kail is expecting a baby her third baby daddy – not public knowledge while this was filmed. Tyler Hill, JC Cueva and Chris Lopez are all rumored to be baby daddy possibilities, though Lowry hasn't confirmed the dad's identity. Lowry sought a protection from abuse order against Marroquin only months after this was filmed and weeks after her pregnancy reveal. “She said it’s because I harassed her via text about all this divorce and guy stuff,” Marroquin said after the news of that bombshell broke. “I signed a consent PFA, which means there’s no evidence of abuse. I just can’t contact her unless it’s in regards to Lincoln for a year.” Yeah. This is going to get worse before it gets better. Nick Viall and Vanessa Grimadli are tuning out critics after a widely panned debut as a couple on The Bachelor: After the Final Rose special . As The Bachelor spoilers predicted, Nick proposed, she said yes … and predictions of their imminent demise also didn’t look far off. Suffice it to say, alumni of Bachelor Nation and fans alike were far from confident in Nick Viall and Vanessa Grimaldi ‘s future Monday. Past stars from Sean Lowe and Catherine Guidici to J.P. Rosenbaum and Trista Sutter all took to social media to voice their skepticism. Typically you’d see a united front, with the alumni rallying around the couple, but Viall and Grimaldi’s interaction was just that awkward. Yet despite the negative commentary from critics doubting their love for one another, the couple are focusing on the positive together. “You can never make people happy. At the end of the day, we are focusing on our relationship,” said Grimaldi, a special ed teacher. “It’s so easy to focus on the negative, which sometimes I do, and Nick tries to get me out of it. But it’s the world that we’re living in.” The duo admitted that it’s been a struggle up to this point, and that they are ready to live life together without ABC TV cameras rolling. “I was excited for it to end, but now I am sad,” Grimaldi said. “I mean, I’m excited for us to start our real life together.” (NOTE: Why is she sad about it then? This is confusing.) “She’s very much looking forward for this to be over,” Viall added, admitting, “It was very difficult for us as a couple at the end.” While the pair are engaged, they recognize that they “have a long way to go” and “are getting to know each other” these days. “I don’t think any relationship is perfect,” said Vanessa. Definitely not, but most Bachelor and Bachelorette couples come out of the finale looking a bit more optimistic than these two lovebirds. “I hope we came across as in love and passionate tonight,” Nick said, responding to the widespread sentiment that they looked miserable. “The reality is – we joke about it, but it’s true – we don’t know what it’s like to go to the movies together, to spend time together in the real world.” “Our relationship has been based off of stressful situations.” Vanessa, for her part, seconded that notion and said that “I feel like it’s been on standstill for a little bit … I’m ready to move forward.” How far forward will they move, though? Chrissy Metz has taken America by storm as Kate Pearson. Playing one of the beloved characters on NBC’s This Is Us, Metz has become a role model for plus-sized women who never thought their body type would be accepted in a leading role on television. But Metz hasn’t just become accepted. She’s become a role model. In the April issue of Harper’s Bazaar, editors even refer to Metz as “Hollywood’s New Pin-Up Girl.” It’s a title and a pictorial that Metz never (ever, ever, EVER) dreamed she would receive. “When I first heard Harper’s Bazaar wanted me to be sexy. I was like, ‘Who, me?'” Metz tells the magazine , adding in its feature story: “I knew y’all were edgy but this is incredible – it’s validation.” The actress couldn’t contain her excitement on Twitter, either, linking to the official Harper’s Bazaar website and writing online: “What an amazing honor and privilege full of self discovery! Thank you, thank you, thank you, @harpersbazaarus for this feature and fun.” The photo shoot paints Metz in a very glamorous light, featuring the rising star in a red swimsuit, as well as a sleeveless, pinup girl-style polka dot sundress. “I want to wear something because I love it,” the 36-year-old actress says of her style. “Not because it follows the rules.” It’s pretty clear that Metz isn’t concerned very much with what others think. Such self-confidence likely helped her land a role on a series that’s already been renewed for two additional seasons. “If I ever end up on the worst-dressed list, it’s not going to make me fall apart,” she explains, adding: “I want to look great and feel good and be comfortable, but at the same time, none of this really matters. This is the fun stuff.” Those who watch This Is Us online or on television each week have fun seeing Metz and her co-stars in action. But they also have themselves a good cry one or two dozen times per episode as well. This is an especially sentimental and emotional drama, and it’s one Metz could not be more proud to work on. A photo of a man pretending to hump the new “Fearless Girl” statue on Wall Street is going viral because he's just that big of a douche. Architectural designer Alexis Kaloyanides snapped the pic on March 9, the day after International Women’s Day, and posted it to Facebook. “Almost as if out of central casting,” she described it. “Some Wall Street finance broseph appeared and started humping the statue while his gross date rape-y friends laughed and cheered him on.” “He pretended to have sex with the image of a little girl.” “Douchebags like this are why we need feminism.” Two days earlier, the bronze statue of a young girl meant to signify the power of women in leadership roles was installed in Manhattan. Right in front of the famous Wall Street bull, she became an instant inspiration … that this loser rubbed up against in a sexual manner. Kaloyanides, 34, was out with co-workers when they decided to stop by the statue Thursday night to see the feminist effigy in person. “It was a beautiful night… there were about 15 or 20 people there,” Kaloyanides said, describing the scene that would soon turn sour. “We started talking about the statue , a little girl about 5 or 6 years old proudly posed with the statue for a picture, it was just a nice moment.” “These three young men came along.” “At first they were hanging off the bull… and then one guy rushed up and started grinding against the statue of the girl, being lewd and totally inappropriate.” The stunt understandably shocked the crowd, which immediately started yelling at the unidentified man, who laughed as he left with friends. “He was gone within 20 seconds, but it just ruined the mood of the scene,” Kaloyanides went on, calling the display “utterly revolting.” “[People were] talking about empowering children and women and then to have this 20-something showing his entitlement, defiling the statute…” Kaloyanides got a photo, though, and posted it to social media, a decision she defends because some believe this is a laughing matter. By spreading the photo, she ensures it won't be. “This is just further perpetuating a mentality of ‘boys will be boys,’ and that ‘it’s okay, it’s a joke, just brush it off,’” she said of her decision. “This young man likely has a mother, a sister perhaps, a girlfriend, a wife, who knows? I’m getting tired of making excuses and laughing it off.” “I for one am not gonna laugh it off anymore.” “This man did something in public. He wanted a reaction, and he’s getting it now, good or bad. And it’s not like it’s just a bunch of angry women.” “Decent men are outraged.” The statue was installed Tuesday by State Street Global Advisers in an effort to push companies to add more women to their boards. The financial manager, the world's third largest, said it would vote against boards of companies that failed to take these very steps. On the day the statue was erected, State Street planned to send letters asking 3,500 companies to act, which Kaloyanides respects: “Companies with gender mixed leadership do financially better. It’s not just for appearances. This sculpture is a symbol of females in business.” “When girls are young and coming up, hopefully, as it was in my case, parents tell them ‘you can be anything you want,” she continued. Later in life, she laments, reality hits and you're “handed an entirely different set of experiences and suddenly we discount ourselves.” “Women in positions of power, they don’t want to be seen as being a b–tches. There’s a contradiction, boys are leaders and girls are bossy.” “This symbolizes a young girl untainted by the realities of the world. It’s still possible,” she adds, bringing it back to her infamous photo: “I have to believe that this [the photo and subsequent reaction] is just sort of a catalyst to get people to continue to say it’s not okay to act this way.”
Newlywed Jinger Duggar recently stepped out wearing an outfit so risque, card-carrying members of Duggar Nation promptly lost their minds. Seriously. You are not going to believe that a member of the Duggar family, married or not, went out in public exposing this much skin … Yes, that’s Jinger Duggar wearing shorts. Shorts! Normally, a cute 23-year-old girl wearing shorts is hardly news, but in this case it’s literally unprecedented, so that’s the Duggars for you. Skirts and dresses, and long ones at that. Throughout her entire life, Jinger and the rest of the Duggar family have lived by that modest dress code and total intolerance of pants. Jinger, who moved out of the Duggar compound in Arkansas and now lives in Texas after marrying Jeremy Vuolo last fall, looks to be over it. Parading around town in knee-length shorts and a pair of Keds, Jinger’s seemingly inconsequential picture has roiled Duggar fans nationwide. We are 100 percent serious that no Duggar female has ever worn shorts in public, nor have they donned any tempting, form-hugging pants. Jinger’s sisters, Jill and Jessa, have each been photographed wearing snow pants while sledding, but that is nothing like this event. Their mother, Michelle Duggar, has been outspoken in the past about why she and her daughters dress modestly in skirts and dresses. “My daughters are the second generation of modest dressing in this family,” she has said. “They’ve grown up being dressed modestly.” Praising this “feminine apparel,” she says “I’ve told my daughters this has been a joyful journey for me to learn what my Lord has called me to.” “I feel like the Lord is impressing upon me that I should be modest in what I wear [and] defining who I am as a woman by choosing to wear dresses and skirts.” Saying she is inspired by the Bible, Michelle adds that “our interpretation was that from the neck down to the knee should be covered.” “By keeping those private areas covered, there’s not any ‘defrauding’ going on,” the matriarch says, going on to explain: “My kids have all been taught that the definition of defrauding as stirring up desires that cannot be righteously fulfilled.” “We don’t believe in defrauding others by the way we dress.” Michelle is serious about enforcing her family’s dress code, as evidenced by holding them to it even in situations you would not expect. One of those being Joy-Anna Duggar’s workout attire … in which she wears a skirt over loose-fitting workout pants while lifting weights: Talk about going to great lengths. Jill refused to wear a standard firefighter’s uniform while working as a volunteer firefighter EMT, modifying the pants into a skirt as well. The Duggar family also believes that women’s shoulders should not be shown off in public settings because “they may arouse men.” Raw, uncut shoulders. Even Duggar family swimming attire is remarkably un-revealing, as evidenced by this classic photo of Jessa and Ben Seewald in 2015. Any hopes of seeing Jessa Duggar cleavage or even soft-core shoulder action was quickly dashed when she posted this poolside pic: However, Jinger broke that rule during her honeymoon, wearing a loose-fitting, shoulder-revealing top during one of her video posts. Perhaps she’s bucking this family tradition altogether. Believe it or not, she was even seen wearing her hair in a ponytail and not the typical, Jim-Bob Duggar-approved long-flowing curls. Of course, even by Duggar standards, she’s not technically “defrauding” anyone with the shorts, which still go down to Jinger’s knees. There is no “stirring up desires [in men] that cannot be righteously fulfilled” here, either from the shorts or the fact that she’s married. If Jeremy Vuolo finds himself in a perpetual state of arousal after seeing this, well, he and his wife are now free to act upon those desires. Just last week, several media outlets reported that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner had decided to reconcile after 18 months of separation. The news didn’t come as a total shock, as neither Affleck nor Garner filed for divorce during the year and a half they were apart. Now, however, it seems the tabloid press may have jumped the gun by reporting that Bennifer 2.0 was officially back on. According to Us Weekly, despite rumors to the contrary, Garner is still very much considering calling it quits on her marriage. The magazine claims that Garner is now open to the possibility of giving Ben another chance, but as of right now, the couple remains separated. “They could always get back together,” a source tells Us. “There is a lot of love and support there, and they have worked out a way to have their family that works for them.” Sounds like Ben and Jen remain mired in a limbo of indecision, unwilling to officially pull the plug and file for divorce, but afraid of giving the man-and-wife thing another go only to have it blow up in their faces. It seems that for much of their time apart, Jen has been hoping for Ben to change his ways (He’s been accused of heavy drinking, excessive gambling, and nanny-banging Christine Ouzounian .) and now he’s finally beginning to show progress. Sources say Jen is currently dithering over whether it’s too little, too late. It hasn’t been working for ages,” a source said at the time. “Ben truly wanted his idea of family life and the idea of family he had growing up in Boston, so he stayed in it longer than he wanted to because of the kids and the idea of family.
