Alex Band, the lead singer of the rock band The Calling, was abducted in Michigan this weekend, thrown into a van, beaten up and left on the train tracks. The reasons why are entirely unclear. Band (middle) was in Lapeer, Mich., for a music festival, when he decided to walk from his hotel to a nearby convenience store around 4 a.m. Sunday. While he was walking, a van pulled up alongside Alex, people inside jumped out and grabbed him right off the street, pummeling him in the van. After the beating had concluded, Band was left on nearby train tracks. Another member of The Calling noted that he was missing later that morning and assembled a search party, and he was found a short time after that. Alex Band’s condition is unclear, but he survived. Law enforcement officials did not elaborate on the details of the attack but are investigating the situation. The one-hit wonder group scored big in 2001 with the single “Wherever You Will Go,” then broke up, then recently got back together and began touring.
Wow, I never thought I would be writing a my Bieber experience. On the morning of the concert, July 6, 2013 in Omaha, NE , I was staying at a hotel about 3 blocks from the arena Justin was performing at that night. I got up at 6 a.m. with my two best friends Kenzie and Harlee. All three of us got ready together and walked to the arena at around 8:30 in the morning. We walked around the arena for a bit and saw Jon Boogie, he waved to us! Around 10:30 we met these girls outside and they told us that Justin was supposed to walk across this glass thing that connected the arena and his hotel between 11 or 12. I then checked my email around 11:30 and there popped up an email from BieberFever saying I had won meet and greet for that night! I covered my mouth and started crying. I showed my phone to Harlee (the girl I took to the m&g with me) and she started crying too. That email was the best thing that ever happened to me. I called everyone and told them about it! We went back to the arena to pick up our wristbands and waited in line. They made us get into groups of six, which sucked. Kenny came out to talk to us about the rules and stuff and everyone of course freaked because it was Kenny Hamilton. I yelled his name and asked for a picture, so he came over and took one with me. He was so nice, and he took pictures with pretty much everyone in the line who asked. My friend and I were yelling “Meechy” and he looked over at us and laughed. He came back and I asked for a hug. He hugged me and oh my gosh he smells so good. Then I saw the curtained area and I almost cried. We were standing there talking and all of a sudden Za ripped the curtain open and yelled “Wazzuupp!” and shut it really fast. I screamed and everyone started freaking out. My best friend goes, “Really Za, you would do that?” and he just laughed. We were both talking to him through the curtain and said, “I love you Za” and he said, “I love you too.” I then said, “Fredo I love you” without knowing if he was in the room or not and then Za answered back and said, “He loves you more.” Fredo then popped his head out from behind the curtain and stuck his tongue out and we screamed again. It was the best experience ever, Fredo and Za are so funny! When we got closer to the front we saw Kenny again and gave him the letters we wrote for Justin. The girls in front of us started freaking out when they saw Justin and they were all trying to hug him at the same time, so the security were pulling them away. It was then our turn and I asked for a hug and he said “Yes, of course” and hugged me. As soon as he talked, it took all my nerves away. I can’t even explain it, his voice is so calming. We went to take the picture and he put his arm around my waist. He was rubbing my waist with his hand the whole time he had it there, I was screaming on the inside. After the picture I told him I loved him and he said, “Thank you, love you too.” I went up to Fredo and asked for a hug and he said, “Of course, nice meeting you.” I was going to ask Za for a hug but he was sitting on the floor and he probably wouldn’t have got up. We were in the curtained area after our picture and Justin had two groups left. I’m so happy the security didn’t pulling us out of the room. We got to take our time and tell everyone hi and I’m so thankful. When we walked out I lost it, I started bawling. I still can’t believe any of that happened to me, none of it seems real. Gucci said phuck yo show. Gucci Mane Sued By Concert Promoter 15 minutes? That’s worse than waitng three hours for Rihanna to perform. According to TMZ Gucci Mane tried to pull a fast one and perform two gigs in one night — in two different states — so says the pissed off concert promoter, who’s suing the alleged two-timing rapper. Empire Entertainment filed a lawsuit against Gucci — real name Radric Davis — claiming it paid him $22,500 to perform in Little Rock, Arkansas on November 22nd … but didn’t get their money’s worth. Here’s why: Empire says prior to the gig, a nightclub in Tennessee began advertising a Gucci show for the same night — and says Gucci himself promoted it on Twitter. Empire says it called Gucci’s people — who assured them, no TN gig was happening. But the night of the concert, Empire says it became clear Gucci’s people lied … claiming the rapper only performed 3 songs (15 min of stage time) and then hightailed it 138 miles to perform at the other club. Then drove back to stay in the hotel Empire provided. Empire says Gucci’s 2nd gig torpedoed their ticket sales. The company is suing for breach of contract and fraud. It wants all the cash it spent on his fee, hotel, travel and promotions. Gucci tried to be slick and now he has to cough up those coins….we know Gucci isn’t ballin’ like that. I honestly never thought throughout my 4 years of knowing Justin, I would ever get to have my own My Bieber Experience and I never thought I would get to meet him. My name is Lindsey, I’m 15 from Illinois, and I met Justin in Des Moines, Iowa on July 7th 2013. This would be my 3rd time seeing Justin in concert. It was around December when my friend Kaylin (@kaylinnnxo) got surprised with meet & greets. I was so happy for her and how she definitely deserved to meet him but I was sad because I thought I would never get that chance to meet my idol. I kept telling myself that I will meet Justin one day and all of sudden I got a text from my mom telling me that I got meet & greets for Justin! I had never been this happy in my life, I couldn’t believe it! I cried a lot because my parents started to have second thoughts like, “It’s so expensive, it’s not worth it, he’s not going to remember you etc,” but I didn’t care. They finally agreed to let me go if I payed for the whole ticket myself which means babysitting became that’s my new Friday night job. I wanted to kind of prove to my parents that I can save up my money if I wanted something so bad. The big day finally rolls around and we get to our hotel and hurry to get ready. During the VIP party they had raffles to win Justin’s things like signed pictures, or his drumsticks, or in my case, his gold glove that he wears onstage every night. The last raffle was his glove and they called my number and we were so excited! After the party they took us backstage and we saw Scrappy and he waved to us. Then when we were waiting in line for M&G’s to start, Ryan Good came out and we got a picture with him. Then after waiting a very long time for the meet and greets to start I finally met Justin. I wasn’t nervous at all, meeting him I was just so excited and happy. I went up to Justin and said, “Hi Justin, I’m Lindsey it’s so nice to meet you,” and Justin said, “Hi Lindsey it’s nice to meet you too.” Then we took our picture and he was rubbing my back while we were about to take it. I was just about dying inside. Then I said, “Can i have a hug?” and he said, “Of course.” He quickly wrapped his arms around me, and then security told me I had to leave but as he was pushing me out, I put my hand on Justin’s shoulder and said, “I love you so much Justin. Thanks for saving my life.” Justin looked at me a bit speechless and said, “I love you too.” As security pushed me out I think Justin was trying to say more to me and I heard him say “Oh,” as I was leaving. I’m really happy how my picture turned out because I thought I wasn’t looking at the camera. I don’t even remember seeing a camera or really anyone in the little area besides Justin. Justin was so incredibly sweet, gentle and I am so glad to have this opportunity to meet him. The concert was absolutely stunning as always and Justin looked like he was having a great time onstage. I haven’t been here since the very, very beginning but I’ve been here for a while and I know I’ll be here until the end for him no matter what because he saved my life and I could never repay him for that. My name’s Savanna and I’m a 16 year old belieber from Atlanta, Georgia. I’ve been supporting Justin for 5 years now and it’s been the greatest 5 years of my life. On June 28th, 2013, I got to meet my idol for the second time this year. I couldn’t believe that it was happening to me again. When tickets for the second leg of tour went on sale, my aunt got on the second they went on and tried getting me M&Gs but the site crashed as soon as she got through. I wasn’t able to get the M&G tickets but we still got tickets for the concert. Then one day I tweeted and asked if anyone was going to the Las Vegas show so we could meet up at the concert. This girl tweeted me and said she was going and she wanted to meet up so I tweeted her back and told her my seat number. She DM’ed me about an hour later and asked me if I had M&Gs for the concert and I said unfortunately no. She replied saying she had an extra one and that I can have it if I wanted. I didn’t know what to think! I didn’t know if it was for real or a scam. I thought it was too good to be true. I messaged her back and, “Yes I would love it.” I was crying so hard because I couldn’t believe I was gonna be seeing him again. My mom and my aunt told me not to get too excited because we didn’t know if it was fake or not. Turns out it was real! When I got to Vegas, we met up at the hotel and hung out the whole night before the concert. We were Bieber stalking in to hotel until 6 a.m. in the morning of the concert. We got to meet Justin’s dancers and DJ Tay James that night. The day of the concert, I woke up at 9, got ready and went down to where they parked the tour buses to see if Justin was there already but he wasn’t. I saw Scooter and Alfredo outside the tour buses talking to someone. We tried asking for a picture but they said they didn’t have time, but they asked if I was going to the M&G and I said yes so they said they’d see me later. It was about 5 hours after that, we had to go down to where the M&G was. At that point, I was shaking so hard because I was so nervous to see Justin again. The girls in front of me where already crying before they went in. When it was my turn, Justin smiled his beautiful smile and asked how I was doing. I told him I was doing amazing! I put my arms around him and I could feel his abs through his shirt. They were about to take the picture when Justin looked straight down at me. I could see him staring at me through the corner of my eye but I was too nervous to look in his direction. He removed his hand very slowly from my back and smiled at me again. I was about to get a hug when security grabbed me away from him but he grabbed my hand and pulled me back into him so I could get a hug. I couldn’t believe he did. I would literally in tears. I told him I loved him and he said he loved me too. Security pulled me away again and I walked out of the curtain and busted into tears. I couldn’t believe that just happened to me again. All because a girl from Twitter gave me her extra M&G pass. I’m so thankful to have had that opportunity. I’ll never be able to thank her enough for what she did for me. It’s unbelievable to think I’ve met the person that saved my life. After that, we went to the concert which was amazing. I was crying throughout the whole concert. It was one of the best nights of my life, literally. I’ll never forget it as long as I live. Just remember, nothing is impossible. In a report broadcast on ABC’s 20/20, the man, Eric Myers, is described as having lived the American dream. The Arizona man married his high school sweetheart Anne, and they started a life having two daughters, Kirtsen and Erin, and adopting three boys from Vietnam. Things seemed to be going well for Myers, who was working for his father’s booming property business. But according to one of his friends, Myers complained about being in debt. Added to that stress was the fact that his marriage was on the rocks. Anne wanted to go to college, and that didn’t fit into deeply religious Myer’s idea of the ideal Christian housewife. Though he tried to find reasons in the bible to keep her from pursuing her education goals, he couldn’t find a valid excuse and felt trapped. They talked about divorce, but Myers wanted to do the Christian thing and stay married. Soon after, Myers attended a real estate seminar in San Diego and never came back. At first authorities suspected foul play, but they couldn’t find any evidence of a crime. Myers had completely vanished. They did find that he checked out of his hotel the first day of the conference, but kept going to the meetings. No one knew where he was or where he went. According to Myers, he was robbed the last day of the conference, so he spent the night in a seedy motel with only a few hundred dollars in his pocket. Myers said he was dealing with the stress of keeping a long-hidden secret: the fact that he was attracted to other men. I know this is SUPER LATE but wow, I don’t even know where to start. I’m not sure if it was luck or fate, but it was amazing. I’m not going to get into my background as a Belieber because my story might be long. Anyways, here it goes! I was saving up a long time for the Believe Tour to buy M&G tickets, but sadly they were too expensive. I ended up getting really nice VIP seats but I was SO determined to meet him. I live in Chicago and I was attending the October 24th concert! He came to Chicago on Sunday night and I was going to spend the week trying to find him. To keep this short, I barely saw Justin get into a car at a restaurant on Monday, and on Tuesday I saw Justin up close when he brought PAC to the arena to show some of the fans. That was my first time ever seeing him in person. Then it Wednesday. I finally figured out his hotel, woke up and got there around 7 a.m. I was there for awhile waiting at the corner before I saw his grandparents walk out, then I KNEW I had the correct place. Eventually his tour bus came and pulled up on the side of the hotel and me and the other fans waiting got nervous! All of a sudden, a girl whispered “Omg is that Justin?” and we all turned and see a boy with a hat walking into the bus! We stood in front of the bus for literally like a couple hours and then all of a sudden a camera crew comes to us for Oprah! They taped us for a little bit and then left. Then all of a sudden, Justin came down out of the bus, it was so scary. He said he had to start an interview with Oprah so everyone took a group picture. I was shaking at this point because JUSTIN BIEBER was right in front of me talking. I was so nervous you have no idea. Then he turned around right in front of me! Everyone pushed and shoved and I had to reach my head over his shoulder to be in the pic and I literally was holding on to him to keep balance. He left and I started bawlinggggggggggg. Fast forward, I was then standing in front of the Ralph Lauren restaurant where he was inside with Oprah doing the interview. After what seemed like forever, he came out and sang ALAYLM acoustically with Dan, literally directly in front of me. Here’s the link to the video I took. Then he went around and started taking pics with the fans in the front rows. He was approaching me closer and closer until it was my turn. Really fast I said, “Justin can you take a quick picture of us?” He grabbed my camera and took a picture of us. Being so close to him, looking at him in the eyes, it’s a surreal moment, I swear he’s not real he’s so perfect! In the end, I was on Oprah! I’m wearing the light cream sweater and I have brown curly hair. At the very end of the Oprah (Next Chapter episode) the clip right before the bloopers, that’s me. The clip is of me and Justin taking a pic. Every Belieber needs to believe.
