The Carrie Diaries has cast its Samantha Jones in Lindsey Gort. The relative newcomer has landed the role of the outspoken BFF of Annasophia Robb’s Carrie Bradshaw in the CW drama’s upcoming Season 2. Of course, the role was made famous by Kim Cattrall in HBO’s hit series Sex and the City , and they’ve certainly found a dead-ringer in this youngster: Lindsey Gort is coming on board as a series regular, which means fans can expect to see tons of Samantha in the new season alongside Ms. Bradshaw. In a statement, The Carrie Diaries’ producers said: “Through a surprising connection, our young Carrie Bradshaw will meet one of the most important people in her life this season in a role made iconic by Kim Cattrall.” “Samantha Jones is a ballsy, beautiful, sexy young woman from the panhandle of Florida who makes her way – and already a name for herself – in the rock ‘n’ roll scene of 1980s NYC.” The Carrie Diaries returns Friday, October 25 on the CW.

Amanda Bynes does not hold back when it comes to the weed … or the munchies. We don’t know that for sure, because we weren’t there, but we do know she racked up a MASSIVE room service bill before getting booted out of her hotel Thursday. The one-woman Twitter tornado spent over TWO GRAND there in a week-plus. She was kicked out of the Ritz-Carlton for smoking weed in her room, as well as for being repeatedly rude to the staff (who she called “ugly” obviously). Amanda Bynes denies the allegations … but the bill does not help her cause. According to the hotel, she piled up nearly $9,000 in charges, much of it coming from her $700/night rate, but $2,389 of it just from room service. The 27-year-old spread that out over 40 separate room service orders (yes, forty), which breaks out to around $60 per order over her stint there. Even with the jacked up prices on those $17 pancakes, holy munchies girl.

Susannah Gross, who owns a five-acre farm north of Seattle, is part of a group experimenting with a solution that seems to make the most of marijuana’s appetite-enhancing properties – turning weed waste into pig food. Four pigs whose feed was supplemented with potent plant leavings during the last four months of their lives ended up 20 to 30 pounds heavier than the half-dozen other pigs from the same litter when they were all sent to slaughter in March. “They were eating more, as you can imagine,” Gross said. Giving farm animals the munchies is the latest outcome of a ballot measure passed by Washington voters in November making their state one of the first to legalize the recreational use of pot.
