Alaskan Bush People viewers were treated to an early Christmas present on Friday night. Following many months off the air, the popular Discovery Channel series aired a special holiday episode over the weekend, one that provided fans with a critical update. We’re talking, of course, about Ami Brown. The family matriarch has been diagnosed with stage four lung cancer and has been undergoing chemotherapy for nearly the entire year. She’s been brutally honest about her condition and her very low odds of long-term survival. On this special installment, however, Ami and her loved ones received some positive news: She is finished with treatment. (Viewers also learned that the Browns relocated from Alaska to southern California in order for Ami to be seen by physicians as UCLA; it had not been known previously exactly where she was being treated.) “There is very single reason to be hopeful and absolutely optimistic,” Dr. Deborah Wong told Ami and Billy on the episode. There’s still a long way for Ami to go, of course, but it’s important to savor every moment in situations such as this. “Life is a gift,” Ami said in response to the doctor’s encouraging words. The family celebrated the good news with a surprise for Ami, as the Brown kids decorated their California house roof-to-foundation and prepared a Christmas dinner. Wearing a Santa hat at one point, Ami was led out of the home by Billy, blindfolded and holding her husband’s hand. Once she saw the garden and how it had been filled with lights and a Christmas tree, Ami could hardly contain her emotion. “The best thing about this Christmas is that mom gets to spend it with us,” daughter Birdy said on camera, adding: “It was looking bad for a while. Having mom here for this Christmas I think is the best gift that we could ever get.” We wish Ami and all the Browns the absolute best during this holiday season. Said Billy of the occasion: “For the Brown family, the meaning of Christmas is all things good… it’s that one time of the year that you really celebrate life. “It’s a time of giving and also receiving love, and kind of a combination of the whole year, right there together.” Prior to this episode and this update, the last we had heard from the Alaskan Bush People regarding Ami’s health was when daughter Rain revealed on Instagram that the family were “hopeful” as her mom began a second round of chemotherapy. As for the future of the show? This is unimportant compared to Ami’s well-being, of course, but plenty of fans out there remain curious. There’s been talk that the Browns are moving to Colorado for Season 8 , along with chatter over Bam Bam and his girlfriend landing a spinoff. Nothing has been confirmed yet, however. Just when we thought we couldn’t possibly be more worried about Catelynn Lowell … Buckle up, because the sadness is coming all over again. As you likely know, Catelynn has been staying in a treatment center for the past few weeks, getting help for her issues with depression and anxiety. She’s been open for years now about her mental illnesses, and how after she gave birth to her second daughter, Nova, postpartum depression nearly wrecked her. She had Nova in January of 2015, and it wasn’t until March of 2016 that she finally made the step to get treatment the first time. Unfortunately, we’re seeing now that she still struggles with depression. On November 17th, she tweeted “Well today I thought of every way to kill myself.. so I’m going to treatment.” She elaborated on this in a statement she released to a few media outlets, explaining that “I’m taking the time I need right now to take good care of myself.” She said that that day she had “thought of every way possible to commit suicide… from wrapping a belt around my neck to just running my car into an electric pole.” “Thank GOD I have a support system and a HUSBAND and a DAUGHTER… thank god I am self aware… I’m seeking treatment and I WILL get better.” Catelynn traveled down to Arizona, accompanied by Tyler, and they got her checked into rehab . She stayed there through Thanksgiving and into the beginning of this month, but as a source revealed earlier this week, she planned on checking out early on Friday, against doctor’s orders . “It wasn’t planned for Catelynn to get out,” the source revealed. “They had a group/family session during their visit and Catelynn pretty much said she wanted to go home.” The insider also claimed that though she was “no longer on suicide watch,” her counselors still believed that “more time in treatment would be beneficial.” Tyler was reportedly concerned about her decision to leave treatment early, but the issue was that Cate felt guilty about being away from her family, especially little Nova, during the holidays. So did she end up coming home? She hasn’t posted anything on social media announcing her return, but Tyler did share this photo on Snapchat: “Cuddles with my family is just the best!” he gushed about the photo of Catelynn and Nova lying on him — and it looks like they’re in their own house. But another post he made on Snapchat has us pretty concerned. Last night, he posted a series of videos while driving down a highway. He captioned the video “My song to Cate,” and he filmed the road while the entirety of Chord Overstreet’s “Hold On” played. The report that she was then fired was not a surprise. When we heard that Lydia McLaughlin was fired , it wasn’t a huge shock — she played her part this season, but she didn’t grab anyone’s attention. Meghan King Edmonds had been on the list of Housewives expected to get the axe, but she’s reportedly staying on the show next season. Why? Because Meghan King Edmonds is pregnant with her second child . Pregnancy drama will hook some folks. The knowledge that Meghan almost didn’t make it back on the show was probably part of where Vicki was coming from with her dismissal of Meghan. For the past several months, rumors have been circulating that Kevin Hart cheated on his wife, Eniko Parrish. And now, at long last, he’s confirming the rumors — explicitly. This whole mess began this summer, when a video of Kevin began making the rounds. The video showed him sitting in a car with two other people, one being a woman who was not his wife. Nothing really happened in that video, but people far and wide viewed it as evidence that he’d been stepping out on Eniko , who was pregnant at the time with their first child. Then, in September, a woman who was later revealed to be a stripper named Montia Sabbag tried to blackmail him with video footage she had of them together. It wasn’t a sex tape in the truest sense, but the tape did seem to heavily imply sex. After the news of the video began circulating, Kevin tried to get in front of the scandal by apologizing to his family in an Instagram video. “I made a bad error in judgment and I put myself in a bad environment where only bad things can happen and they did,” he explained. He also said “It’s a sh-tty moment. It’s a sh-tty moment when you know you’re wrong and there’s no excuses for your wrong behavior. At the end of the day, man, I just simply gotta do better.” Reading between the lines, he definitely admitted to the cheating, right? But still, he never directly confessed to it … until now! In a lengthy interview on the Power 105.1 radio show, Kevin discussed what happened that night, and though we all pretty much knew the basics, it’s still pretty shocking to hear him talk about it like this. When asked what he was thinking when he “got caught cheating,” he admitted “It’s beyond irresponsible.” “There’s no way around it,” he continued. “The best way to do is just address it right on, you just gotta say exactly what it is: that’s Kevin Hart in his dumbest moment.” “That’s not the finest hour of my life, but that being said, you make your bed, you lay in it. You can’t even say ‘What were you thinking?’, because you weren’t thinking.” Continuing his stream of real talk, he said “That’s where the false reality comes in to a f-ck-up. You don’t plan to f-ck up, you f-ck up and then you go ‘Oh sh-t, I f-cked up.'” “I rightfully stand in front of my f-ck-up, hands in the air. I’m guilty, regardless of how it happened and what was involved and sh-t I can’t talk about. I’m guilty.” He elaborates more on what he means by “sh-t I can’t talk about” momentarily, but for now he says that since he is guilty of cheating, “I’m gonna face the music.” “I’m gonna go home, I’m gonna address it, I’m gonna make my wife full aware of what’s going on and the situation I have now put us in, and I’m hoping she has a heart to where she can forgive me and understand that this is not going to be a reoccurring thing and allow me to recover from my f-cking massive mistake.” It’s refreshing that he’s able to admit that he’s completely wrong, isn’t it? About Eniko and how she’s handling the whole thing , he said that “It’s a cold house. It’s a very cold house for a minute, and rightfully so.” From there, he insisted that this is the first time he cheated — despite rumors that he was cheating on his first wife with his current one. He explained that his first marriage wasn’t great, and that they were both with other people before the divorce because they were both “done” with each other. “That’s not f-cking up,” he said. “This time, granted, I f-cked up. But in f-cking this up, I’m like ‘I gotta repair this because this is what I want. This is my foundation.” Well, that’s … sweet? Kind of? Next, he was asked about what circumstances led to the cheating, but Kevin answered with “I can’t even get into the f-cked up status behind the whole thing, there’s a real federal investigation.” Still, he was sure to follow up with “regardless of that, I’m wrong.” However, he does say that “When this sh-t breaks down, you’re gonna be like ‘Oh my f-cking god,’ it’s the freakiest of the freakiest.” The whole thing, he said, was “a reality check and a gut-punch from God.” Since the whole thing went down, Kevin said that he and Eniko have been trying to move forward with their relationship — and they even welcomed their first child together, an adorable little boy named Kenzo, last month. She’s still upset with him, and according to him, that’s her right, and she’ll be upset from time to time for a long time, probably. But he’s willing to admit his mistake, and they’re willing to work it out together. So as far as cheating scandals though, Kevin seems to be making out as best as he possibly can. … Congrats? In an interview with Variety , the Jumanji actor says that once he’s done acting, he’s going into politics. “I couldn’t do both,” he admits. “Realistically, as we go into 2018, when you look at my slate as we’re developing and shooting into 2019 and 2020, the slate goes deep into 2021, so it feels like the realistic consideration would be 2024.” The people have wanted The Rock to run for office for some time now.
