Monica Lewinsky. There. Do have your attention now? The 40-year old former mistress of President Bill Clinton is featured in the new issue of Vanity Fair, addressing the 1998 dalliance that led to an impeachment and one of the biggest scandals to ever hit the White House. “It’s time to burn the beret and bury the blue dress,” Lewinsky writes in the magazine, emphasizing a theme of looking forward. Lewinsky goes on to say it’s time to stop “tiptoeing around my past – and other people’s futures.” She wants to shed her identity as the White House intern who had a sexual relationship with a sitting President and take control of her own “narrative” for a change. “I am determined to have a different ending to my story,” she says. “I’ve decided, finally, to stick my head above the parapet… and give a purpose to my past. (What this will cost me, I will soon find out.)” Lewinsky doesn’t push blame on Clinton, either. “Sure, my boss took advantage of me,” she writes. “But I will always remain firm on this point: It was a consensual relationship. Any ‘abuse’ came in the aftermath, when I was made a scapegoat in order to protect his powerful position… “The Clinton administration, the special prosecutor’s minions, the political operatives on both sides of the aisle, and the media were able to brand me. And that brand stuck, in part because it was imbued with power.” As recently as last August, a Monica Lewinsky sex tape (really, just a recording of her planning a meeting with the POTUS) went viral. “I, myself, deeply regret what happened between me and President Clinton,” Lewisky adds. “Let me say it again: I. Myself. Deeply. Regret. What. Happened.” The ex-intern also says she was inspired to tell her tale by Tyler Clementi , the 18-year-old Rutgers student who committed suicide in 2010 after being bullied because he was gay. Because she, too, was suicidal around the time the scandal broke in 1998, this is how Lewinsky hopes to use her fame going forward. “[My goal] is to get involved with efforts on behalf of victims of online humiliation and harassment and to start speaking on this topic in public forums,” she writes. Vanity Fair’s digital edition will be available May 8 and the magazine will be on newsstands May 13.
Tamra Barney Judge isn’t giving up hope when it comes to becoming a mom again with new husband Eddie Judge … even if he’s sort of lukewarm to the idea. The Real Housewives of Orange County star, whose ex-husband Simon Barney says she’s an unfit mother, is basically begging for another baby with Judge. Last night on The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 9 Episode 4 , the topic came up and Tamra was adamant about where things stand. “I was thinking about our talk we had the other day about the baby,” she said. “You don’t have any children of your own and you’re okay with that?” Judge replied, “I think I will be.” When Barney pressed the issue and asked him, “What if I wanted to have one? Would you be okay with that?” Eddie hesitatingly replied, “Probably.” This is where it got awkward. Tamra Barney told the cameras that Judge had had a “$h!tty childhood” because he wasn’t raised by his own parents and is “afraid to be a father” as a result. Judge asked Tamra – mother of three minor children by Simon Barney as well as an adult son, Ryan Vieth – if she was serious about wanting another one. Barney said, “I kind of do.” Judge said , “Then let’s figure it out. What I’m not okay with is having to raise the child. I don’t have time for that. Scotty McCreery just experienced what he described on Twitter as the “worst morning of his life.” And for a very understandable reason. The winner of American Idol Season 10 and his roommates at North Carolina State University were victims of a home invasion inside their off-campus residence in Raleigh. According to local TV station WTVD, the 20-year old was actually ordered to the ground by armed suspects who took cash, wallets and electronics. They told McCreery and his friends to face down and count to 100 as they made their escape. No one was injured in the incident. “Yes, it was definitely very scary,” Scotty wrote on Facebook this afternoon. “Luckily, my friends and I are safe and the Raleigh PD is on the case. I will share more when the time is right, but as of now we do not want to do or say anything that could hinder the investigation. “Thanks to everyone for the prayers and support. A huge thank you to the Raleigh PD for their quick response and hard work in solving this case.” Raleigh police have released a 911 call from someone at McCreery’s house who says: “They took everything we have. But we have time,” the actress, 24, said of her marriage to the boxing champ, 38. Fans were both stunned and saddened in April at news that contestant Eric Hill died suddenly after a paragliding accident, not long after his stint on the show ended. While he was clearly eliminated at some point, he and The Bachelorette hit it off. What will his death would mean for the show going forward?
