Alicia Keys’ ‘Freedom’ Tour Hits U.S. This Month

By Hillary Crosley, with reporting by Shaheem Reid Alicia Keys Photo: Michael Loccisano/ WireImage After performing her hit “Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart” for 108,000 fans during NBA All-Star Weekend, Alicia Keys is looking north to begin her next tour. “The tour is starting on February 26. We start in Canada, then we bring it down to America,” the singer said. “I’m really excited about it. I can’t believe that it’s that soon. It’s going to be amazing and the concept of the tour is really amazing, and putting it together, I feel so excited. So I hope you make it.” Toronto native Melanie Fiona and R&B crooner Robin Thicke will open on Keys’ tour, which she’s calling the Freedom Tour after her album The Element of Freedom. Keys and company will perform for two days in Canada before coming stateside, to Chicago. The international leg of Keys’ trek then begins on April 29. Alicia and Beyonc

Michael Jackson Death Timeline Dispute Critical to Conrad Murray Defense, Prosecution

In a new twist, Dr. Conrad Murray’s attorney, Michael Flanagan, says his client made a mistake in his initial interview in the Michael Jackson homicide investigation. “Dr. Murray’s timeline of events the day Michael Jackson died is wrong,” he says. “Doctors make mistake. That is what he did, and it was simply that. A mistake.” Really, Conrad Murray? Jackson’s personal physician is changing the story he initially told police in the aftermath of MJ’s death – a significant move for the prosecution and defense. According to police reports, Murray told the LAPD that he gave Propofol to Jackson at 10:50 a.m., then left Jackson alone for two minutes to go to the bathroom.

Selena Gomez Will Serenade Fans At A Valentine’s Day Show

Instead, she plans to profess her love to her fans. Gomez caught up with MTV News on Friday (February 12) and revealed her plans for the most romantic day of the year: to serenade her fans with some of her favorite tunes. “I have a show in Philadelphia, so I’m kind of excited,” she said. “My fans will be my valentine, which is fine by me. And I’m really happy. I’m actually glad people are coming to the show, ’cause it’s Valentine’s Day … so hopefully I’ll enjoy a good show with my fans.” While she didn’t reveal too much about what fans can expect from the show on Sunday, she said her stage will definitely reflect the mood of the day. “We have a lot of confetti, and I made sure it was pink and silver and stuff that’s very Valentine’s Day-esque,” she revealed. “But other than that, I think it’s going to be an awesome show to be able to celebrate with my fans.” Gomez also shared some fond memories of a Valentine’s Day spent with a special someone three years ago. “I went to Houston one year, and it was really cute. I was probably, like, 14, and I got to go out to dinner,” she recalled. “We went to Spaghetti Warehouse, and it was really fun, and at 14, it was a big deal for me. On Tuesday evening, 16-year-old Andrew Kane nonchalantly asked his mother and father if they would drive him from their Barrie, Ont., home to a hotel in nearby Midland, where he planned to meet a 42-year-old woman with whom he had been having a secret relationship over the Internet. His stunned parents refused and the teen calmly returned to the computer, telling them he would let the woman know he wasn't coming.
