Source: ASTON MARTIN / ASTON MARTIN Aston Martin has joined the environmentally friendly wave. They are set to release a rechargeable motor powered sedan in the coming months. As spotted on Engadget the luxury car maker has revealed their Rapid-E model; their first ever electric car. Originally announced in 2014 the four door sedan features a 800V, 65 kWh battery system and twin rear motors. Even though the V12 engine has been swapped out, it still pumps out 604 hp and 700 pound-feet of torque. Additionally it goes from 0-60 MPH in about 4.2 seconds with a top speed of 150 MPH. In terms of the build out the Rapid-E stays true to the British manufacturer’s super premium brand positioning. The battery lives where the usual fuel engine would under the hood. Inside the vehicle provides the owner a plush driving experience with carbon fiber detailing all throughout the cockpit. On the dash we get a digital display that shows how much charge you have left, energy consumption and much more. At the Shanghai Auto Show Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer spoke on how this release will help redefine their organization. “Unveiling the Rapide E will be a huge moment for Aston Martin. As our first all-electric production car, it is a truly historic step. One that signals Aston Martin is prepared for the huge challenge of an environmentally responsible and sustainable future. Just two weeks after he was murdered at his Marathon clothing store, Nipsey Hussle’s being remembered at a local school. Administrators at Crete Academy Charter school revealed a HUGE mural painted across their basketball court of the late rapper. Crete Academy is located in Crenshaw and just blocks away from where Nipsey was gunned down. “For our kids to look at Nipsey and see to see everything he’s done, what he was able to accomplish and how much he gave back to the community is huge for them…because he looks like them,” said Crete Academy Founder Hattie Mitchell to CBS LA. “He grew up where they grew up. He’s the epitome of everything that they want to be and aspire to be.” The mural was done by artist Gustavo Zermeno and the idea of Venice Basketball League CEO Nick Ansom. We have another update on the tragic death of Nipsey Hussle. TMZ has obtained her official death certificate for the late rapper, which lists his cause of death as gunshot wounds to the head and torso . This piece of information was already known, of course, but the legal document does add another tidbit that may be of interest. According to the certificate, Hussle was pronounced dead at 3:55 p.m. on March 31, 35 minutes after he was gunned down. The culprit strongly appears to be a man named Eric Holder, as surveillance camera footage clearly depicts Holder walking up to Hussle on the afternoon in question and opening fire. As previously reported, Holder walked away after putting one or two bullets in the artist… only for Hussle to actually say a few words to his assailant . Realizing the rapper was still alive, Holder then quickly circled back, shot Hussle again, kicked him and sprinted away to a nearby alley where a getaway car was waiting for him. Holder, who was subsequently arrested, is being held on $5 million bond on charges of murder, attempted murder and possession of a firearm by a felon. For those interested: Nipsey’s death certificate lists his occupation as an artist and entrepreneur. It also says he was never married at the time of his death and worked in the entertainment and real estate industries. But Hussle was very seriously involved with actress Lauren London, with whom he shared a two-year old daughter. In the wake of this murder, London wrote the following on Instagram : “I am completely loss. I’ve lost my best friend. My sanctuary. My protector. My soul…. I’m lost without you. We are lost without you babe. I have no words.” The stars were together for five years at the time of Hussle’s homicide. This devastating murder has sent shockwaves throughout Hollywood, along with nearly every other industry. Celebrities such as Steph Curry, LeBron James, Rihanna and Drake have all posted tributes to the slain superstar . Hussle grew up in a dangerous, violent section of Los Angeles… but had dedicated his life to pursuing avenues of peace and to bringing people together; even rival gangs. Candlelight vigils have been held across the globe and a huge memorial service will be held at Staples Center Thursday. It will be open to the public. Source: Michael Short / Getty Oprah Is Donating $2 Million To Charities In Puerto Rico Oprah Winfrey is joining in on the efforts to help Puerto Rico in the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Maria. The island has not yet fully recovered from the 2017 storm, which caused 3,000 deaths and billions of dollars in damage. The people of Puerto Rico need all the help they can get, and because of that, Oprah is donating $2 million — $1 million to Hispanic Federation and another $1 million to the Flamboyan Arts Fund, according to reports from The Oprah Magazine. “I was so moved by Lin-Manuel Miranda’s commitment to bring ‘Hamilton’ to Puerto Rico and support the community that served him growing up that I wanted to join in the revitalization efforts of an island so rich in culture, beauty, and heritage,” the mogul said in a statement. “The needs of Puerto Rico and our fellow American citizens following the tragic hurricanes are still very real, and the work that has already been done by the Hispanic Federation, Flamboyan Arts Fund and other organizations on and off the island is long from over.” Winfrey and her best friend Gayle King traveled to Puerto Rico to watch a performance of Hamilton earlier this year. Since the destruction of the hurricane, recovery and fundraising efforts have been coming steadily from a lot of stars, including Scarlett Johansson, Daddy Yankee, Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez, and so many more. The people of Puerto Rico still need a lot of help, but Oprah’s recent donation will definitely be a huge step in the right direction.
