Way earlier this year, we told you that Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner were expecting again . The Married at First Sight couple, after everything that they’d endured, deserved to welcome some happiness into their lives. Well, Jamie Otis gave birth — and just three days later, she’s showing off her post-baby body! Married at First Sight might be a borderline-horrifying premise for a reality series, but at least its helped the world to get to know some wonderful couples. Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner deserve to be happy. We’ll talk about why this happy, healthy childbirth last week was such a huge step over their past sadness. But first, take a look at Jamie’s post-baby body. She looks so happy! She shared this photo on Friday. That’s just three days after she gave birth, folks. Considering that, just days earlier, she’d looked like a particularly large watermelon was hiding beneath her skin in the hopes of going unnoticed as summer wanes, this is a huge difference. Jamie’s captions really express her happiness. “Outfit of the day … I share all the details in my insta story! Lol no but seriously, I love every bit of my postpartum bod.” We love that she started off with a joke about how so many celebs plug their clothes in otherwise personal posts. Also, we love that she’s loving her body. “It’s truly amazing how my body helped create & carry an 8 lb 2 oz baby …. I’m feelin’ like I can conquer the WORLD after pushing her out.” 8 pounds is no laughing matter, folks. It’s no wonder that she feels so unstoppable. (We cannot imagine the agony of childbirth and we never, ever want to) “Women are SO much stronger than we give ourselves credit for.” Remember, this was her baby bump: Previously, Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner suffered a tragic miscarriage , just four months into an earlier pregnancy. We know that most women unknowingly miscarry several times during their lives, but actual miscarriages — after a couple knows that they’re pregnant, and after they’ve announced their pregnancy to the world — are absolutely devastating. Some couples end up mourning for their entire lives. Jamie and Doug honored their stillborn child earlier this summer, on the one year anniversary of his death. The couple, who were of course already pregnant at that point, planted a memorial tree in his honor. That is a beautiful (and environmentally friendly) way of honoring his memory, getting a little closure on their grief, and putting up a lasting tribute that can stand the test of time. Seriously, we’re glad that their chidlbirth was successful. A lot of reality couples don’t work out — and, again, these two are from Married at First Sight , so they really beat the odds. A lot of regular ol’ couples split up after a miscarriage. That kind of grief can change people, and it can make partners grow apart as they begin to remind each other of their shared pain. Clearly, Jamie and Doug found a way to grieve together instead of letting one tragedy tear them apart. And now they have a new baby, Henley Grace Hehner! It was a hugely emotional event and, obviously, fans and viewers adore Jackson almost as much as his family does. Thanks to a sneak peek offered up by Tori Roloff, it now looks like we’ll be seeing a lot more of him in Season 13. Because they’ve started filming again. Thanks to improvements in technology, baby pictures may be way, way more common now than they used to be. That doesn’t make them any less precious or any less treasured. (Abundance doesn’t always depreciate the value, folks — each baby picture is unique; we’re not talking about sportsball cards, here) In fact, something incredibly special about photos these days is that you can share them with the world. Tori Roloff isn’t hiding Jackson away from fans and viewers. Remember this super cute photo of Jackson Roloff at 3 months ? Admittedly, if we were going to do a photo surrounded by numbers like that, we’d have done them like a clock. Jackson’s a little too young to cooperate by holding his hand pointed to the “3” as if it were the hand of a clock, but whatever. We can dream. She was going for a rectangular image, here, and the photo is super adorable so we’ll stop nitpickily musing about the photo that might have been. (Babies are cute, okay? Like, she appears on camera for what’s essentially a confessional moment and Jackson’s there because he likes being in his mom’s presence and she can comfort him if he needs anything. But many fans are very hopeful that they’ll get to see a lot more of Jackson and even get to, within reason, watch him grow up. Realistically, we don’t think that they’re going to hide Jackson from the cameras. He’s a baby, so he’s going to be around his parents and also his grandparents, obviously. ( Jackson and his grandma take cute pictures together) Editing him out sounds pointless and a like a total pain (just as, it’s been said, editing family black sheep Jacob Roloff out of some scenes from Molly’s wedding has been less than fun). Recently, there’s been hope that Jacob Roloff might return to the show . He’s apparently done some growing up since he raged against his family’s series. Sometimes things like a wedding and becoming an uncle can change a person. (He’s about to be even more of an uncle, as Audrey Roloff is due soon — at the end of August!) Did Peter Kraus being a mature person with a grounded, honest idea of what engagements mean kill his chance to be the Bachelor? Yeah, we know — it’s upsetting to think about. But, unthinkably, it’s starting to look that way. From very early on, Peter Kraus was a clear frontrunner on this last season of The Bachelorette . To the collective horror of most of the Bachelor Nation, Rachel Lindsay chose Bryan Abasolo and left Peter as a weeping mess. What appears to have been the deciding factor for Rachel, despite Peter Kraus’ countless winning qualities, is that Bryan was willing to say exactly what Rachel wanted to hear. Rachel wanted her season to end with a proposal. To Peter, a proposal means a commitment to marry — which is, folks, literally what proposals are — and he would want to continue to get to know Rachel and date her after their season ended. You don’t know someone until you’ve seen them off-camera. To Rachel, though, a delay on the proposal meant an interruption of her carefully imagined plans. It was a dealbreaker. But many began to hope that Peter would go on to have a career within the Bachelor Nation. We talked to you about why Peter Kraus would be the perfect Bachelor . He has a huge fanbase already. He’s charming, he’s handsome. And there’s a reason that we spent an entire post talking about Peter Kraus’ abs, folks . Seriously. Despite the demands by Bachelor Nation members of sense everywhere, however, it looks like the creator of The Bachelor doesn’t think that Peter is the right fit. Mike Fleiss is a producer of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette . He is also the creator of The Bachelor . Just a few hours ago, in possibly the most transparent subtweet that we have seen, ever, in our lives, Mike Fleiss said this: “Do we really want a Bachelor who isn’t ready to settle down with a woman he loves? Hmmm. Not what # thebachelor is all about…” Dude, that is not subtle at all. Peter Kraus has said that he’s undecided about being the Bachelor , but his fans are rooting for him. In the light of Mike Fleiss’ tweet, though, many fans are crushed. We’d like to point out that it isn’t a “hard no.” And also that Fleiss didn’t actually mention Peter Kraus by name at all. (Even though he might as well have just hired a skywriter to spell out Peter’s full name in the heavens) It’s entirely possible that Fleiss is deliberately teasing the Bachelor Nation, or even floating the idea by appearing to reject it. As many fans responded, Peter as a suitor and Peter as the leading man are very different things regarding his willingness to commit. We’ll say this much about the horrible nightmare universe where Peter Kraus isn’t the Bachelor: At least there’s a chance that it could be Dean Unglert. If you’ll recall, Dean Unglert is also a favorite to be the Bachelor . Despite his youth. Unlike with Peter Kraus , even Rachel Lindsay seemed supportive of the idea of Dean taking up the mantle. Dean is a little young, but he’s 26, so … that shouldn’t be a dealbreaker for anyone. He’s also basically universally loved (even by Peter — those two struck up a real friendship) and his dazzling blue eyes can steal anyone’s heart. So, even without Peter, there’s a very real chance that the next season of The Bachelor could be salvaged.
