Peter Kraus Might Not Be the Bachelor, Because Everything’s Garbage

Did Peter Kraus being a mature person with a grounded, honest idea of what engagements mean kill his chance to be the Bachelor? Yeah, we know — it’s upsetting to think about. But, unthinkably, it’s starting to look that way. From very early on, Peter Kraus was a clear frontrunner on this last season of The Bachelorette . To the collective horror of most of the Bachelor Nation, Rachel Lindsay chose Bryan Abasolo and left Peter as a weeping mess. What appears to have been the deciding factor for Rachel, despite Peter Kraus’ countless winning qualities, is that Bryan was willing to say exactly what Rachel wanted to hear. Rachel wanted her season to end with a proposal. To Peter, a proposal means a commitment to marry — which is, folks, literally what proposals are — and he would want to continue to get to know Rachel and date her after their season ended. You don’t know someone until you’ve seen them off-camera. To Rachel, though, a delay on the proposal meant an interruption of her carefully imagined plans. It was a dealbreaker. But many began to hope that Peter would go on to have a career within the Bachelor Nation. We talked to you about why Peter Kraus would be the perfect Bachelor . He has a huge fanbase already. He’s charming, he’s handsome. And there’s a reason that we spent an entire post talking about Peter Kraus’ abs, folks . Seriously. Despite the demands by Bachelor Nation members of sense everywhere, however, it looks like the creator of The Bachelor doesn’t think that Peter is the right fit. Mike Fleiss is a producer of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette . He is also the creator of The Bachelor . Just a few hours ago, in possibly the most transparent subtweet that we have seen, ever, in our lives, Mike Fleiss said this: “Do we really want a Bachelor who isn’t ready to settle down with a woman he loves? Hmmm. Not what # thebachelor is all about…” Dude, that is not subtle at all. Peter Kraus has said that he’s undecided about being the Bachelor , but his fans are rooting for him. In the light of Mike Fleiss’ tweet, though, many fans are crushed. We’d like to point out that it isn’t a “hard no.” And also that Fleiss didn’t actually mention Peter Kraus by name at all. (Even though he might as well have just hired a skywriter to spell out Peter’s full name in the heavens) It’s entirely possible that Fleiss is deliberately teasing the Bachelor Nation, or even floating the idea by appearing to reject it. As many fans responded, Peter as a suitor and Peter as the leading man are very different things regarding his willingness to commit. We’ll say this much about the horrible nightmare universe where Peter Kraus isn’t the Bachelor: At least there’s a chance that it could be Dean Unglert. If you’ll recall, Dean Unglert is also a favorite to be the Bachelor . Despite his youth. Unlike with Peter Kraus , even Rachel Lindsay seemed supportive of the idea of Dean taking up the mantle. Dean is a little young, but he’s 26, so … that shouldn’t be a dealbreaker for anyone. He’s also basically universally loved (even by Peter — those two struck up a real friendship) and his dazzling blue eyes can steal anyone’s heart. So, even without Peter, there’s a very real chance that the next season of The Bachelor could be salvaged. But (as Rachel Lindsay is likely to feel in a few years), we’ll always wonder what might have been. View Slideshow: The Bachelorette Fans to Rachel Lindsay: Do NOT PICK Bryan Abasolo!

Jacob Roloff: Little People, Big World is SO FAKE!

Jacob Roloff is not a huge fan of Little People, Big World. We know that because he’s made it ridiculously, astoundingly clear ever since he quit the show. Jacob dislikes his family’s show so much that after he quit, he also cut contact with his parents and his siblings for a long time. Thankfully, he’s mended his relationships with the rest of the Roloffs — he’s said as much, and we know it for sure thanks to his adorable presence at Molly’s wedding last weekend . But still, his hatred for the show remains. In some new excerpts from his very first book, Verbing, he explains some of the issues he has with Little People, Big World. In one section, he writes “The first few years of doing this show were pretty alright, just a few (dozen) extra people around the house and farm.” “The actual filming in that beginning period was subject to the events unfolding, that is, something happened then the cameras came running.” But then, “After the few first years of testing the waters, the whole process did a sort of flip where events became subject to the filming, that is, became more orchestrated than spontaneous, in a weird indistinguishable mix.” “That phase went on for a while, too, until turning into the dominantly orchestrated ordeal it is today.” This part isn’t really anything we haven’t heard before — we know his main issue with the show is that he believes it’s too staged. He feels so strongly about the issue that in a rant he made on Instagram last year, he even said that “The family that is filmed is not my family.” They are the Roloff Characters and I have scarcely anything in common with them, nor do I want to be a character myself.” But in these new excerpts from Jacob’s book, he delves a little deeper into the issue. “Chief and simply, it forced me to grow up faster than normal (whatever a normal rate may be),” he writes. “Doing on the fly interviews and formal ones alike forced me to answer certain questions about myself, my family and my life that I normally might not have wondered about for some years.” Sounds pretty tough, right? Especially when you think about how young Jacob was when he was on the show. “One the one hand,” he explains, “I’m stuck in front of a lens, symbolizing the millions of people that watch(ed) our show, left to my own devices of coping and getting attention that usually panned out great for The Brass in L.A.” “On the other hand, instantly, it forced me to evolve mentally way faster than I would have, I think, under circumstances of less pressure.” So it sounds like he’s coming to terms with the whole thing — and thank goodness, right? Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson: The Couple That Prays Together …

Can you believe we’re coming up on the one year anniversary of Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson?! It seems like it was just yesterday when we saw their Halloween makeout session and thought “huh, another basketball player, really?” But it’s true: it was early last September when we first heard that Khloe and Tristan were dating , which means that August of 2016 was when the magic happened. And, according to all the gushing Khloe did in a new interview with the Daily Mail, it looks like all that magic is still happening. “My boyfriend is very protective of me,” she says of Tristan. “Feeling loved and validated and secure is a huge thing.” She adds that he’s also “protective of my entire family,” which she thinks is “beautiful.’ “And I love that everything we do is as a union,” she continues. “When he speaks, it’s ‘us’ and ‘we,’ and that’s important because it shows that you’re sharing life.” “The best thing is that we’re able to communicate about anything, and I think a lot of relationships don’t flourish because people are afraid to voice their opinion, not wanting to rock the boat.” Sounds like she’s really, truly in love , huh? And we’ve barely even gotten started yet! In relationships, Khloe says, “It’s good to find someone who has the same belief system and morals as you because it makes things easy.” “Tristan and I are both Christians; we go to church, we pray, we’re vocal about God and spirituality.” Didn’t see that one coming, did you? “A lot of my girlfriends get pregnant without talking about things such as religion with their significant others and then find out they have different belief systems to them,” she says. Speaking of getting pregnant, Khloe explains that she “definitely” wants to have kids, “but I don’t feel any pressure.” “Tristan is a great dad and he definitely wants more children, but we both feel that it will happen when the time is right.” “We’re still in a new relationship and I love us having time together,” she smartly says. “Once you have kids you can’t get back your non-kid years.” We’d advise Khloe to consider getting back on birth control if she wants to have a few more non-kid years — pregnancy can sneak up on you otherwise. But she says that she understands that children are a lifelong commitment, and that “you worry about your children for the rest of your life,” not just until they turn 18 and become adults. “The concern I have is raising little human beings in a world that’s filled with such hate and terror ,” she adds. “That seems very scary.” Yeah, girl, it really, really is. But thankfully, she says that she’s “in the best relationship I’ve ever been in,” and she adds that “it doesn’t take a ring for me to feel that way.” “I believe in marriage and I want to be married again one day but I don’t have a time frame.” “Why do people think that marriage equates to happiness?” she asks. “There are a lot of people in unhealthy marriages.” And honestly, with the heartbreaking way things ended between Khloe and Lamar Odom, we’d say she knows that better than most. View Slideshow: Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson Make Out. HARD. Really though, she does seem very, very happy with Tristan — happier than she’s been since the early days with Lamar. Nothing but the best of wishes to this adorable couple!

Kate Middleton: I Kind of Don’t Want to Be Queen So Soon!

Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton may become Queen of England sooner than she ever expected, according to a recent report. For the mother of two, that means mixed emotions. As we told you yesterday, alleged palace insiders claim Prince William and Kate will be King and Queen once Elizabeth II’s reign ends. Her Royal Majesty has yet to formally say this, of course, so take it with a grain of salt. Or two grains. Or 10. Or perhaps a small boulder. In any case, the report states that Prince Charles, 68, is about to get leapfrogged in the line of succession in order to preserve the monarchy. “Her Majesty realized that William and Kate are the future,” said the palace insider, noting that her royal legacy hangs in the balance. “She has spent 65 years making sure that the House of Windsor survives,” and this decision, while bold and surprising, is no different. That doesn’t mean it’s easy – for anyone involved. Suffice it to say, Kate is royally conflicted about it. A royal source said that her concerns lie with kids Prince George and Princess Charlotte, and whether they will be negatively impacted. Middleton didn’t see this coming. How could they? “Kate had wanted to keep a low profile for a few more years,” the source said. “She’s desperate to remain a hands-on mom.” “She worries about being in the spotlight more.” William and Kate, both 35, got married six years ago. They welcomed heir Prince George in July 2013 and then Charlotte in May 2015. The parents have already expressed concerns about their kids growing up as normally as possible, so this is a complicated situation. “She’s concerned about the added pressure on her kids,” the insider added of the mother of two, noting that they’re camera shy as it is. On the flip side, this is what she signed up for. The future Queen has, since moving to Kensington Palcae, been working extra hard to make sure the next generation is ready to take over. “William and Kate have taken on more responsibilities,” the source said, despite frequent talk of Kate being the laziest royal of all time . “They’re learning even more about what it entails to take on such powerful positions,” and while this promotion is huge, it’s not imminent. Elizabeth II has reigned for over six decades, but is still spry and active for 91, and has no intention of abdicating the throne while alive. William could wait awhile yet (ask Charles). In any case, George and Charlotte will soon glean that their lives are very different from regular kids, but will stay grounded just the same. This comes from upbringing, and is clearly paramount to William and Kate; George and Charlotte will be well raised, regardless of title. That much you can take to the bank. Also a guarantee is that they will look simply adorable next to Kate and William for years to come. When they’re King and Queen or just during run-of-the-mill royal engagements, the youngsters are the spitting image of their parents. We expect they will lead charmed lives, but not because of the royal status Kate never enjoyed while she was growing up (see below). Just because their mom and dad are pretty great. Kanye West is Suing His Insurers for $10 MILLION! Here’s Why!

Remember when Kanye West had a mental breakdown , checked himself into a hospital, and had to cancel his tour? Normally, some very pricey insurance policies cover that kind of situation. But apparently things for Kanye aren’t working out and he’s suing his insurers for $10 million … and basically accusing them of being scammers. And here we were thinking that the Smelly Vagina Lawsuit getting settled was interesting legal news! Kanye has always been impulsive and outlandish. It’s part of his brand. A lot of people believed that maybe it was mostly an act. People have had similar theories about plenty of stars who are known for being controversial or badly behaved. Basically, people have trouble believing that a grown adult could act like some celebrities do, and so they imagine that it’s all a show. In some cases, they’re absolutely right. But things with Kanye were clearly more serious than a childlike lack of impulse-control. In recent years, he’s done everything from tweet that Bill Cosby is innocent to beg Jay-Z to not have him murdered to making the irrational statement that, had he voted, he would have voted for Trump . We’re not saying that every Trump supporter needs their head examined (just a packet of information and perhaps a compassionate lecture), but for Kanye, that was super unexpected and Kanye is, um, not quite Trump’s demographic. Things got worse last December and, as we later learned,  Kanye was suffering from severe psychosis from exhaustion . The tour was canceled, tickets were refunded, and the costs of shutting down were supposed to be covered by Kanye’s company’s insurance policy. Well, apparently his insurers — various syndicates of Lloyd’s of London, which sounds shadier than it’s supposed to but that might be appropriate in this case — responded to his team filing an insurance claim by basically taking every measure possible to prove that they weren’t liable. Many people have had tough dealings with insurance adjusters, but this sounds like it’s on a whole other level. The Hollywood Reporter obtained details of Kanye’s lawsuit , including the precise wording of the complaint that Kanye’s legal team has filed. Strap in, folks, because this is possibly the most entertaining legal document that you’re going to read for a good long while. “[The insurers haven’t] provided anything approaching a coherent explanation about why they have not paid, or any indication if they will ever pay or even make a coverage decision.” Does anybody else notice a hint of sass in that? “Implying that Kanye’s use of marijuana may provide them with a basis to deny the claim and retain the hundreds of thousands of dollars in insurance premiums paid by Very Good.” By Very Good , they mean Very Good Touring, Inc, which sounds like a lazy parody but it’s just the name of Kanye’s touring company. Kanye’s legal team accuses these insurers of more than just screwing over Kanye’s company, though: “The stalling is emblematic of a broader modus operandi  of the insurers of never-ending post-claim underwriting where the insurers hunt for some contrived excuse not to pay.” Did you get that? Basically, Kanye’s accusing these syndicates of accepting massive sums of money (insurance premiums) and then searching for any loophole that keeps them from having to pay anything back when a claim is filed. That’s not how insurance companies are supposed to operate. “Almost immediately after the claim was submitted, Defendants selected legal counsel to oversee the adjustment of the claim, instead of the more normal approach of retaining a non-lawyer insurance adjuster.” That sounds shady, right? Kanye’s team thinks so. “Immediately turning to legal counsel made it clear that Defendants’ goal was to hunt for any ostensible excuse, no matter how fanciful, to deny coverage or to maneuver themselves into a position of trying to negotiate a discount on the loss payment.” It’s an insurance adjuster’s job to make sure that nobody’s filing a false claim, but companies are supposed to pay out when an honest claim is filed. Kanye’s lawyer, Howard King, has an incredibly well-written statement on the case. “Performing artists who pay handsomely to insurance companies within the Lloyd’s of London marketplace to obtain show tour ‘non-appearance or cancelation’ insurance should take note of the lesson to be learned from this lawsuit:” Clearly, he’s going right for their reputation. “Lloyd’s companies enjoy collecting bounteous premiums; they don’t enjoy paying claims, no matter how legitimate. Their business model thrives on conducting unending ‘investigations,’ of bona fide coverage requests, stalling interminably, running up their insured’s costs, and avoiding coverage decisions based on flimsy excuses.” Then comes the best line: “The artists think they they’re buying peace of mind. The insurers know they’re just selling a ticket to the courthouse.” If that’s any indication, it sounds like Kanye’s getting his money’s worth out of his attorney. If only he’d had that kind of luck with his tour’s insurers, huh? That said … so far, we’ve only heard one side of the story. We’d be very eager to hear what Lloyd’s of London’s insurers have to say in response. View Slideshow: Kanye West is Over Party: Twitter Users Celebrate Rapper’s Alleged Demise

Heidi Montag Shows Off HUGE 7-Month Baby Bump!

Seven months into her pregnancy , The Hills star Heidi Montag is still staying active. She’s even keeping up her exercise routines! She’s shared glimpses of her workouts with followers. As you can imagine, her baby bump is very much on display. It’s so nice to see that Heidi and Spencer have come this far in their lives, you know? It’s been years since the two of them squandered their combined $10 million fortune on absurd purchases like pricey handbags and rare crystals. (Yes, really) Those were the times when Heidi Montag kept getting worrisome cosmetic procedures (remember her F-cup breasts? Thankfully she got them reduced later ), which led to friction between herself and her mother. As we mentioned recently, Heidi and her mom are getting along better now. It turns out that The Mother-Daughter Experiment: Celebrity Edition actually helped some people to heal old hurts! Who knew?! So now, after all of their bonkers misadventures and mistakes, Heidi and Chris are just content being happy with each other as a couple. And they’re getting closer and closer to welcoming their child into this world. As you can see from this photo, Heidi is very far along: She looks great! And check out that baby-bump! Exercise, within reasonable limits, can be healthy when you’re pregnant. (Just like it can be healthy when you’re not pregnant) If exercising makes you feel especially distressed or nauseated during your pregnancy, then cut it out of your routine until you’re no longer pregnant. (Similarly, if an exercise is putting your body through real hell, don’t do it — no pregnancy required) Walking and even hiking can be popular non-rigorous exercises during pregnancy. As always, it’s important to stay hydrated in those cases — even more so than for non-pregnant hikers. With pregnancy, there’s always a risk that something could suddenly go wrong, so we wouldn’t recommend hiking anywhere that’s more than a few minutes from where a vehicle could easily reach you. Like, you can just go for a walk around a public lake, ideally with your partner or a walking buddy. And, of course, your cell phone. Both of your cell phones. And plenty of water. We have a feeling that Heidi isn’t overdoing it, here, because she’s clearly very conscious of the strain of working out while pregnant. Specifically, the ouch factor on her feet and ankles. As we can see, Spencer Pratt is clearly good husband material. Foot massages feel weird to some people (and can be torture for the ticklish), but for others, they can be a great source of relief. Especially if they’ve been walking for two. And standing for two. And especially if they’ve been exercising for two. Speaking of Heidi Montag’s activities, though, have you guys ever heard of a babymoon ? It’s not, like, a type of full moon or whatever. It’s like a cross between a honeymoon and a baby shower. That doesn’t necessarily make a lot of sense to us, given that traveling while pregnant isn’t necessarily the easiest thing in the world, but it’s a thing. Anyway, Spencer and Heidi snapped this photo while on their babymoon in Hawaii. Even dressed, there’s no hiding that baby bump. We know that Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag probably wish that they had more of their former fortune to help welcome their child into the world. But you know what? This couple seems loving and, despite their histories, well-adjusted. In fact, their past mistakes might make them wiser people and wiser parents. We hope so, anyway.
