TV Nudity Report: Hung, Pan Am [PICS]

Usually it’s cable babes showing big-screen beauties how it’s done in the nudity department, but this weekend was a bit of a reversal: even as Shame racked up one of the biggest NC-17 openings ever at the movies, premium TV viewers were left hanging with a single boob-tube boob. Of course, that single boob is nothing to sneeze at when it comes from Rebecca Creskoff , who ended this season of Hung breaking in a new stud in the back of a car. Ride ’em, cowgirl! Plus, Pan Am took Mr. Skin’s advice (sort of) by having star Christina Ricci strip to her skivvies for the first time on the show. (Of course, if you really want to fly the friendly skies, you can see Christina all kinds of nude here at Mr. Skin.) More pics after the jump!

Deadly Derrieres, Killer Cans, and a Happy Hung Customer

We’ve got nudity to die for this week on the boob tube, with Hannah Ware baring butt at a shootout on Boss , a tragic end for a topless lesbian on Boardwalk Empire , and Stana Katic’s literal tit shot on Castle . Meanwhile, things were more peaceful, but no less nude, on Hung as Georgia Hatzis showed seat meat and shadowy right boob.

Michael Fassbender Looks Back On ‘Surreal’ 2011

From ‘X-Men: First Class’ to ‘Shame,’ Fassbender is one of the actors MTV News is most thankful for this year. By Kevin P. Sullivan, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Michael Fassbender Photo: MTV News Every once in a while, an actor with a breakout role will come along and capture the attention of both moviegoers and the people behind the films. Soon, you can find that same actor headlining films at festivals as well as scoring top billing on blockbusters. For 2011, that actor was undoubtedly Michael Fassbender , who wowed the art-house crowd in 2008 with “Hunger” and found wider audiences the year later with Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglourious Basterds” as the British Lieutenant Archie Hicox, who reserves a circle of hell for people who waste good scotch. This past year was when he became a superstar. He helped lead a brand-new team of mutants to box-office success as a young Magneto in “X-Men: First Class,” and then delivered critically praised performances in “Jane Eyre,” “A Dangerous Method” and “Shame,” for which he’s receiving Oscar buzz. That’s why we’ve named Michael Fassbender one of the actors we’re most thankful for this holiday season. We sat down with Fassbender and gave him a chance to look back on 2011 and tell us why a different year — 2007 — meant everything to him. MTV : Every year at MTV, we choose a few actors that we’re most thankful for around Thanksgiving, and you’ve made the cut. Fassbender : Have I really? MTV : You have. Fassbender : Nice one. MTV : Obviously, a couple years back, when “Inglourious” hit, especially, that was a big moment for you, but it feels like this year has to be professionally the most satisfying year. Fassbender : No, I got to say, for me, definitely 2007 changed my life. MTV : “Hunger.” Fassbender : Yeah, Steve McQueen gave me an opportunity, a possibility to show some sort of capability in my profession. It was coming at a point when we were about to go into a recession. That was going to affect this business as much as any business — less jobs for less actors. For him to take a risk on an unknown in a lead role, it changed my life, really. From that, I had all these amazing experiences with Andrea Arnold, Quentin Tarantino, Steven Soderbergh, Cary Fukunaga, David Cronenberg, Ridley Scott. MTV : It feels like this is where it all bears fruit. The seeds that were planted then, now it all starts to come out. Fassbender : Yeah, you start off and you just want to be working, so jobbing actors, you’re already thankful for that opportunity. To be in this position that I’m in now, it’s ridiculous. Somebody pull the plug on me now. I have to say I’m blessed. When I started out when I was 17, this was the pinnacle, to be working with people that I find inspiring, I can learn from. It’s a very privileged position. MTV : Was there one particular moment in this year of 2011 that was the most surreal, the biggest high for you? A lot of premieres, a lot of production work, a lot of press. Was there one moment you can pinpoint? Fassbender : Just lots of surreal moments. When I was sitting in a balcony in Venice — I’ve never been to Venice before — and I’m there with family and friends, and we’re like, “Wow, this is a trip, isn’t it?” We’re all sort of experiencing this together. You’re always sort of pinching yourself. Being on a Quentin Tarantino set. When I was 18, I did a stage version of “Reservoir Dogs” with my friends, where I directed, produced, played Mr. Pink. I mean, I was totally green. I didn’t know what the hell I was doing, but I knew that with hard work and enthusiasm, things get done. So then to be sitting on set with him, I was like, “This is weird.” Already at the audition with him was strange, because he reads all the other parts. That was surreal. To have this sort of reception we’ve had for both films in Venice, to be there with two films, all those things are pretty mad. Elizabeth Olsen Talks ‘Amazing’ 2011

Actress’ banner year has been ‘learning experience,’ she tells MTV News as part of Thankful Week. By Eric Ditzian Elizabeth Olsen Photo: MTV News By any sort of Hollywood metric, Elizabeth Olsen has had a wonderful year. In January, the actress became the talk of Sundance with the debut of the harrowing drama “Martha Marcy May Marlene” and a claustrophobic horror flick, “Silent House.” In subsequent months she took on roles opposite everyone from Zac Efron to Robert De Niro, and she’ll soon star with Glenn Close in the period drama “Therese Raquin.” And as 2011 inches to a close, her name has cropped up in awards-season talk: She’s already nabbed an ensemble Gotham Awards nomination and could well find herself in the Golden Globe and Oscar mix. Not bad. But when you consider this is the first year that Olsen has been on the entertainment scene — unless you count long-ago appearances with her sisters in those “Adventures of Mary-Kate and Ashley” musicals — the 22-year-old’s 2011 goes from generally wonderful to simply magical (and no doubt jealousy-inducing for her peers). And that’s why we’ve named Elizabeth Olsen one of the actresses we’re most thankful for this year. We recently sat down with her to look back at her accomplishments, to look forward to what she has coming down the line, and to find out what she’ll do if she ends up winning awards this season. MTV News : You know you might have to start giving some speeches soon … Elizabeth Olsen : I have zero expectation on any of that. I didn’t even have anything beforehand that I could think the movie would become what it has become, with a great distributor, good buzz. This year has been such a learning experience. It’s been amazing. I feel like I have an understanding of so many different aspects after making a movie. Before I didn’t even know how to make a movie, and then I realized I didn’t even know how to promote a movie, and then I realized there’s a whole process of doing that that’s even longer than making the movie. You just have to be thankful that you have the opportunity to get to do that and people want to talk to you about your work. MTV : Is there one surreal moment from this year that encapsulates what a crazy run you’ve been having? Olsen : The first thing that came to my head when you said that was I remember when I finished making [“Martha Marcy”] and I had dinner with my friend in the East Village. I was totally thrown off because I was in upstate New York for three months, and then I was in the East Village on a Saturday night and was so confused that people acted the way they acted. I was like, “Why are people so abrasive? It’s so weird.” I remember telling my friend, talking about making this movie, that I literally had the best experience of my life working on something. And that’s including all the fun stuff you made with your friends in elementary school. MTV : Speaking of promoting a film, do you read your own press at this point? Olsen : At this point I’m interested in those things. Give me a couple months and I probably won’t be. I don’t know why. I think those opinions change all the time. Right now I’m just interested because I’m fascinated by the movie so I’m fascinated about what people think and get from the movie, because it is very unique. MTV : Your co-star John Hawkes has compared your performance in “Martha Marcy” to Jennifer Lawrence’s in “Winter’s Bone.” With “Hunger Games” she’s now made the leap to a high-profile franchise. Is it only a matter of time before we see you in a “Transformers” or a “Spider-Man”? Olsen : I don’t know, but I don’t think so. I’m just trying to pick whatever’s most interesting to me at that point. I’m not trying to think of things studio or non-studio. There are a bunch of things I’d like to do in 2012 that are all very different from each other. What they all have in common are amazing people to work with and an interesting character to try and create. MTV : Above and beyond the acting, do you have ambitions to write or direct? Olsen : No, I don’t. I like doing this. Dialogue I’m very bad at. I do like writing essays. MTV : That is kind of nerdy. Olsen : I know! I like writing essays. I have to write one tonight. So much fun! MTV : Have you adjusted to being on set away from friends and family? Because that experience can be isolating. Olsen : I would like to think that I’m really good at adjusting to changes. But I’m not as good as I thought I was. When I was working in Spain, that was really hard. It was a long shoot and it was Spain and I was coming in the middle of shooting, so everyone had already been there for six weeks and no one was going out to explore the city anymore. I was just by myself. But in situations like that, you do call your family. My sisters came and visited me. It was hard to be there and not even have the option of making a quick phone call and meeting up with someone. But now when I look back on being in Spain, I don’t really think of it as being lonely. But at the moment, you know, I thought I really knew what loneliness was. I was like, “This is so lonely!” MTV : Let’s talk about “Very Good Girls,” in which you’ll be co-starring with Dakota Fanning. When is that shoot going to happen? Olsen : We have to wait, because it’s set in New York in the summertime. We’ll do it next year. Dakota and I know each other, since we have the same mutual friends and went to the same high school. We’ve had dinner with the director, just chatting and trying to figure out what we can do to maybe change the script a bit, change scenes. MTV : What was the key thing that attracted you to the role? Olsen : The thing that’s great about this script is I treat my relationships with my girlfriends as family and as probably the most important relationships in my life. I’ve had the same friends since I was in kindergarten. I feel like a lot of times in film and television, you don’t get a chance to understand that type of relationship. “Sex in the City” is the closest thing you get to it. I think [“Very Good Girls”] is a great depiction of two young girls’ friendship when they’re graduating high school. MTV : It seems like this role is the closest to your experience. Olsen : Totally. It’s important to be in a film like that. And everyone involved is going to be great to work with. ‘X Factor’ Loses Stacy Francis As Astro Loses His Cool

‘I don’t want to perform for people who don’t want me here,’ mini-MC says after landing in the bottom two. By Adam Graham Stacy Francis on “X Factor” Photo: FOX Stacy Francis — the 42-year-old diva who once pleaded to Simon Cowell, “I don’t want to die with this music in me!” — was eliminated from “The X Factor” Thursday night (November 17). But the bigger story was 15-year-old hip-hop dynamo Astro , who found himself in the bottom two with Francis and was none too pleased with his fate. Asked to sing for his life in front of the judges, Astro nonchalantly strolled onto the stage and announced, “I really don’t wanna perform. I feel like it’s unnecessary.” He turned to his mentor, L.A. Reid: “But I’mma leave it up to you. You’re my mentor. Do you think I should perform?” Reid told Astro he had come a long way in the competition and that he should perform. Astro turned back and proceeded to give a halfhearted, visibly jaded performance of a song in which he talked about his experiences on the show. Francis, for her song, belted out “Amazing Grace.” When it came time for the judges to make their decision, Astro was scolded for his attitude by the panel, with Reid telling him, “You acted a little bit like a quitter, and it upset me.” But Cowell was the hardest on the Brooklyn MC — whom Rihanna once compared to “a mini J. Cole” — telling him, “I don’t like your attitude right now.” “Look at me, and think about your mum watching the show,” Cowell said to him. “Because you are showing disrespect to your mom. You are showing disrespect to the audience at home, and I don’t like people with this attitude.” Astro retorted, “No disrespect to you or this show, but I just feel like if you’re going to put me in the bottom two, I don’t want to perform for people who don’t want me here, you know what I’m saying? That’s it.” By this time, Astro was being showered with boos from the audience, and a tear that had welled up in his eye began to stream down his face. Cowell asked if he’d take the same attitude if put in the position again, and Astro apologized, telling him, “Honestly, man, it’s cool.” With the audience chanting, “Stacy! Stacy!” Cowell cast his deciding vote. “I really don’t want to do this,” he said, voting for Astro to stay, saying he thinks he had a better chance of winning the show and ultimately sending Francis packing with a 3-1 vote in favor of her ouster. (Nicole Scherzinger, Francis’ mentor, was the sole vote for her to remain.) Francis thanked the judges for her time on the show and took responsibility for her so-so rendition of Meat Loaf’s “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” the night prior, which was slammed by Cowell. “I don’t believe I did great last night. I go with that, and I have to suck up my pride and take responsibility for the performance I gave,” Francis said. “I just want to thank Simon Cowell for giving me a chance, because I’m 42 years old, and he allowed me to sing for the world week to week.” Earlier in the night, Paula Abdul — who had already seen two of her groups get kicked off the show — caught a break when she learned her sole remaining group in the competition, Lakoda Rayne, was voted through to next week. Upon hearing the news, Cowell looked as though William Hung just won a Grammy, while Abdul proudly crowed, “I told you so, I told you so!” During the commercial break following the announcement, Cowell tweeted, “How the hell did that happen?” The episode also featured a performance from Rihanna, who showcased her current Billboard chart-topping single “We Found Love.” While it was presented as live, the performance was taped following Wednesday’s episode. The top 10 contestants opened the show with a group rendition of Queen’s “We Will Rock You,” celebrating the week’s rock and roll theme . Heavy D ‘Brought So Much Light,’ Mary J. Blige Says

‘Every song Heavy D ever put out was something to uplift us,’ former labelmate tells MTV News about her fallen friend. By Rob Markman, with reporting by Vanessa Whitewolf Mary J. Blige Photo: MTV News Mary J. Bilge famously sang “Not Gon’ Cry” on her 1996 single, but when the topic of her fallen friend and former Uptown Records labelmate Heavy D came up, the emotion was just too much to hold back. ” Heavy D was so beloved because the impact he made on music was that we could have fun: We can do hip-hop without murdering and killing everybody,” a tearful MJB told MTV News on Tuesday in Beverly Hills. “And he just brought so much light.” Mary, like Heavy, hailed from the outskirts of New York City — him from Mount Vernon, her from Yonkers. It was 1987 when Heavy D & the Boyz released their first album, Living Large, on Uptown Records. Mary was signed years later, and in 1992, dropped her debut album, What’s the 411? — but her earliest memories of Heavy pre-date her days in the music industry. “I just remember being a child and him coming to King school, where they used to have all the performers come, and they came and did ‘The Overweight Lover,’ ” Mary recalled with tears in her eyes. “We always needed something to uplift us, and he brought us so much joy because we were always in a place where we didn’t have enough, we couldn’t get enough money, but the King school show was free, and every song Heavy D ever put out was something to uplift us.” The exact cause of Heavy D’s death November 8 is still unclear, as initial autopsy results came up inconclusive. He was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Beverly Hills after a 911 call was placed from his home. Heavy had difficulty breathing and was pronounced dead after he reached the hospital. There will be a public viewing for the fallen rapper Thursday (November 17) at Grace Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, New York, and a private funeral service for family and close friends Friday. BET is planning a special tribute to Heavy D during the Soul Train Awards . Rappers Big Daddy Kane, Doug E. Fresh, Kurtis Blow, Naughty by Nature, Whodini and Stetsasonic’s Daddy-O are all expected to take part. Share your fondest memory of Heavy D in the comments.
