‘You feel flattered,’ B.o.B tells Sway about Tyler, the Creator’s lyrical swipe. By Rob Markman, with reporting by Sway Calloway B.o.B Photo: MTV News It isn’t all #1 singles and catchy melodies with B.o.B; sometimes the Atlanta MC just wants to rap! After being called out by Odd Future’s Tyler, the Creator on his breakout single “Yonkers,” Bobby Ray was motivated to get in the booth and fire back. “I remember when I made that, I was in my basement,” the Grammy-nominated rapper told Sway. “I was like, ‘You know what, man? I just wanna rap.’ So I just threw together a beat and we just leaked it and put it out there.” On “Yonkers,” Tyler raps, “I’ll crash that f—ing airplane that that f—-t n—a Bob is in/ And stab Bruno Mars in his goddamn esophagus.” The ATL MC fired back on the OFWGKTA dis song “No Future” in late March. “Keep f—ing with me, you ain’t gon’ have no future,” B.o.B rapped. Tyler addressed the track via Twitter : “I don’t think the ‘No Future’ song is even a diss. But I’ve never heard him spit like that. Took me by surprise, cus it’s tight.” B.o.B also downplayed the beef. “You feel flattered. I didn’t take it as a dis at all. I think in the hip-hop world, the more that we accept competition … ” Bob told Sway before coming to his point. “Listen, you cannot accept competition and still be competitive. “It’s when you lose, when you’re on the losing end, that’s when it gets serious and escalated,” he said. “But I think it wasn’t really anything that serious.” What did you think of Tyler’s song and B.o.B’s response? Wiz Khalifa Plays Bamboozle Fest, Denies Feud With Kanye

‘It’s fun to talk about it and make jokes about, but in all reality, that didn’t even exist,’ Wiz tells us about alleged altercation. By Steven Roberts Wiz Khalifa Photo: MTV News EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey — Wiz Khalifa is riding high — pun not intended, even though it kind of works — off the success of his debut album, “Rolling Papers,” and a stage show that is quickly garnering a lot of praise. But Wiz can’t seem to escape the gossip that doggedly follows him and girlfriend Amber Rose around. Rumor has it that Wiz confronted Kanye West over a jab West took at Rose during his show-stealing set at Coachella . During his performance of “Stronger,” West slightly altered the lyrics from “I’ll do anything for a blonde dike and she’ll do anything for the limelight/ We’ll do anything when the time’s right” to “I did anything for a blonde dike and she did anything for the limelight/ And we did anything when the time’s right.” An altercation allegedly occurred after West’s performance, but when MTV News caught up with Wiz before his set at this weekend’s Bamboozle Festival, he said the entire backstage incident was fabricated. “I did my set and we hung around for a bit, but we weren’t even there when fam was onstage,” Wiz said. “Somebody made that up. I think they just wanted it to be that type of situation or they wanted to see something go down. It’s fun to talk about it and make jokes about, but in all reality, that didn’t even exist.” Wiz said he did hear Kanye’s lyrics though. He thought it was a low moment, that many people who look up to West may have been turned off by his lyrical alteration. He harbors no ill will, however. “It is what it is, and I’m doing my business and she’s doing her business and he’s doing his business and that’s what it is. I’m all about positivity and I’m going to keep it that way.” Wiz kept things moving, co-headlining Bamboozle Friday night along with 30 Seconds to Mars. Wiz is currently on the College Consciousness Tour with fellow Steel City native Mac Miller, and he plans to head out with the Motor City’s own Big Sean next month for the Rolling Papers tour . But he’s happy to perform wherever his fans — or soon-to-be-fans — may be. “I think my crowd, they kind of just go everywhere and wherever I’m at. I kind of just entertain them as well as make new fans. Some of the people that come to my shows, they just know me for one or two songs, so even the people that don’t know me at all at shows like Bamboozle, I get to make them new fans.” Related Videos Get Bamboozled In New Jersey Related Artists Wiz Khalifa Kanye West

Hunger Games Casting Rumor: Elizabeth Banks as Effie Trinket?

Elizabeth Banks has been rumored for the part of Effie Trinket in the upcoming film adaptation of The Hunger Games, according to new reports. A buzzed-about cast already features Jennifer Lawrence as lead character Katniss Everdeen, Josh Hutcherson as Peeta and Liam Hemsworth as Gale. The rumor of Banks as Effie , a flaky bureaucrat who escorts her district’s young death-match contestants to their fate, was first reported by Variety. Lionsgate would not confirm whether Banks will be joining the film, based on the bestselling young-adult novel (the first in a hit trilogy) by Suzanne Collins. The Hunger Games takes place in a post-apocalyptic world, one boy and one girl from each district are chosen to fight to the death in a televised event. Banks has already taken on one huge new role this year: Mom. She and hubby Max Handelman welcomed a son, Felix, by gestational carrier in March. [Photo: PacificCoastNewsOnline.com]

The Hunger Games Casts Dayo Okeniyi, Amandla Stenberg

Two more roles in The Hunger Games have been filled. Lionsgate has confirmed that the parts of Rue and Thresh of District 11 have officially been cast – Dayo Okeniyi will play strong and quiet District 11 tribute Thresh, while Amandla Stenberg will play Katniss Everdeen’s young ally Rue. Photos of these two relative newcomers … These two look the part(s), but as far as acting chops, they’re unproven. Doesn’t mean they won’t pass muster, of course. Everyone starts somewhere. The pair joins Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth , who recently won the roles of Peeta Mellark and Gale Hawthorne, respectively, in the new film. The gorgeous, talented Jennifer Lawrence will play Katniss, of course. Who’s still left to be cast? One major part – the role of Haymitch Abernathy, the only living Hunger Games winner of District 12 – is still vacant.

Kanye West Slays Coachella Festival’s Last Night Sunday

‘Ye owns his weekend-ending set with a relentless string of hits. By Mary J. DiMeglio Kanye West performs at Coachella Photo: Flanigan/ FilmMagic INDIO, California — In what is sure to go down as one of the most memorable performances in Coachella history, Kanye West only disappointed anyone who was expecting the controversial MC to phone in his festival-ending set Sunday night. As his troop of tribal dancers got the stage warmed up, West rose on a platform that soared him above the crowd, asking, “Can we get much higher?” ‘Ye took the crowd into his “Dark Fantasy,” in a song that shouts out other 2011 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival acts Nas and Kings of Leon. He then urged, “Everybody do the ‘Power’ clap” and sent fireworks into air. The jams continued relentlessly with “Jesus Walks” and “Can’t Tell Me Nothing,” a song from 2007’s Graduation that had a recent surge in popularity when it was featured in “The Hangover.” Nicki Minaj fans were no doubt hoping she’d come out to spit her “Monster” verse, but her Twitter followers were informed that the femcee was in Arizona over the weekend. West’s relentless stream of popular tracks, including “Flashing Lights” and “Touch the Sky,” kept the captivated masses from leaving to explore what other late-night options were in the festival’s tents. And even after “All Falls Down” and “Gold Digger,” ‘Ye wasn’t lying when he promised, “The hits ain’t over yet. We just keep goin’ and goin’. ” “All of the Lights” and “Stronger” followed, and as midnight rolled around, the crowd, desperate for more, was relieved when the screen announced “Act 3” was still to come. When ‘Ye returned, it was in his red suit for the “Runaway” anthem. After such an emotional performance, whatever he had left in his heart poured out with “Hey Mama,” during which he declared, “This show is dedicated to you, Mama.” ‘Ye and his dancers then lined the stage and held hands for a triumphant bow. Earlier, the Strokes packed the main stage, tearing through “Under Cover of Darkness,” “New York City Cops” and “Someday,” in front of lights so bright singer Julian Casablancas joked, “Can you make it brighter in here?” making sure to clarify, “That was sarcasm.” Duran Duran, who said, “We have been looking forward to this moment for weeks and weeks,” played everything their fans desired. The set, beginning with “Planet Earth,” also featured “A View to a Kill,” “Girls on Film” and, of course, “Hungry Like the Wolf.” Scissor Sisters vocalist Ana Matronic, whose band closed out the Mojave tent Saturday night, joined the ’80s icons onstage. In the afternoon, Nas and Damien Marley joined forces, playing both their solo hits and cuts from their collaborative album, Distant Relatives . “Are there any Bob Marley fans out there?” they asked before closing with “Could You Be Loved.” Wrapping up the Sahara tent, Steve Angello easily coaxed out any remaining dance energy. And, in front of her adoring fans gathered at the Outdoor stage, PJ Harvey presented mostly new material from Let England Shake . Her Coachella debut was greeted with a sign in the crowd reading, “PJ Harvey is the real closing headliner.” She tapped into her earlier albums for “The Sky Lit Up” and her 1995 breakthrough hit, “Down by the Water.” Also Sunday, Best Coast took advantage of the remaining daylight to sing the sun off with their sweet soaring vocals; Chromeo had the crowd getting down to their synthed-up funk; and Health brought their frenetic energy to the Mojave tent.
