Lindsay Lohan has been off probation for under two weeks and is already making more headlines with alleged nightclub antics, though she denies causing trouble. She is accused of getting into an altercation with a woman in a club last week, with the accuser filing an incident report alleging battery at the hands of Lohan. The woman claims Lindsay got into it with her at a nightclub Thursday. She says she was talking to a male friend of Lindsay’s, which Lohan did not care for. That’s when she began pushing, shoving and hitting … allegedly. Law enforcement sources say they will investigate these claims , like they would any other incident like this, to determine their validity before proceeding. LL’s rep, Steve Honig, the hardest working man in LA, tells TMZ: ” Lindsay Lohan was absolutely not involved in any sort of altercation. This is clearly another case of someone looking for money and 15 minutes of fame.” According to sources close to Lohan, she denies any wrongdoing in this case, saying she wasn’t even THERE, but rather at home that night watching TV. The actress is said to be particularly frustrated by this accusation, since even when she stays home and avoids trouble, she feels it seems to find her anyway. FYI, she was supposedly watching Homeland on Showtime. Good show. [Photo: WENN.com]
George Zimmerman’s father, Robert Zimmerman, says Trayvon Martin threatened to kill his son, then beat him to the point where he had no choice but to defend himself against the 17-year-old in Sanford, Fla., on February 26. The elder Zimmerman spoke, on camera but without showing his face, to Orlando, Fla., TV station WOFL, to share his son’s side of the national story. He claims Trayvon Martin attacked first and may have killed Zimmerman. Robert Zimmerman Interview “It’s my understanding that Trayvon Martin got on top of him and just started beating him,” Robert Zimmerman told WOFL. “Martin said something to the effect of, ‘You’re going to die now’ or ‘You’re going to die tonight.'” “He continued to beat George. At some point, George pulled his pistol … and what he did.” “He was punched in the nose. His nose was broken,” Robert Zimmerman insists . “He was knocked to the concrete. Trayvon Martin got on top of him and started beating him.” “Beating him in the face. In his nose, hitting his head on the concrete.” The comments came just after the George Zimmerman surveillance video , taken at police headquarters the night of Martin’s killing, was released. His hands cuffed, Zimmerman does not appear to have substantial injuries, though the video does not show a close-up of the neighborhood watchman. The video was taken four hours after the incident took place. “The injuries that made it sound as though he really should have been on a stretcher are not apparent in this tape at all,” CNN analyst Marcia Clark said. “He moves freely. He moves fluidly, not like someone who has just been through a beating in any way, shape or form, someone whose head has been pounded on the pavement as hard as described, someone whose nose was broken and bleeding.” “That tells you a great deal.” Zimmerman’s attorney Craig Sonner described the video as “very grainy” on NBC’s Today , noting that Zimmerman had been “cleaned-up” and received first aid care in the hours between the incident and his arrival at the police station.
High five to Fox for pulling their bullet-ridden Neighborhood Watch marketing materials from Florida theaters this week following the February killing of Trayvon Martin. Trying to get as much distance as possible from the teaser’s emphasis on grown men Ben Stiller , Vince Vaughn , Jonah Hill , and Richard Ayoade stalking and finger-shooting suburban kids is a good idea and a sensitive move — not to mention a no-brainer necessity, PR-wise — so the studio’s forthcoming campaign will likely focus on the film’s “broad alien-invasion comedy” elements. But even four months from now, will it be too soon for Neighborhood Watch to make fun escapism out of vigilante violence? A Fox representative explained the studio’s decision to THR : “We are very sensitive to the Trayvon Martin case, but our film is a broad alien-invasion comedy and bears absolutely no relation to the tragic events in Florida,” a Fox spokesperson tells THR. “The movie, which is not scheduled for release for several months, was made and these initial marketing materials were released before this incident ever came to light. The teaser materials were part of an early phase of our marketing and were never planned for long-term use. Above all else, our thoughts go out to the families touched by this terrible event.” Extending that retraction on a wider scale might even be in order, seeing as the media firestorm over Martin and his shooter, George Zimmerman, is now a national conversation and not just one for Floridians. Which brings us to the big question: Is the Trayvon Martin case too big, too incendiary, or just too heartbreaking for Neighborhood Watch to come out as planned, and perform well, in four months’ time? What’s in the teaser trailer may be an indication of the problem here: Whether or not it’s revealed in marketing materials, the film seems to glorify the kind of volunteer policing that Martin shooter Zimmerman was a part of in real life. The sounds of Dr. Dre’s “Still D.R.E.” underscore the comically grandiose slow-motion crawl of the Neighborhood Watch gang — they’re lazy suburbanites using a self-important Neighborhood Watch front to get away from their families, but once the aliens invade they’ll become true-blue heroes. (Since I haven’t seen the film, I’m only guessing here — maybe it’ll turn out that the aliens were only visiting peaceably, their presence horribly misunderstood by overzealous would-be heroes, who resolve their differences with nonviolence.) That setup would be fairly harmless if it didn’t tap directly into the debate over what really happened on February 26 in Sanford, FL. Zimmerman was an active Neighborhood Watch captain in his gated community who, by many accounts, took citizen policing very seriously; following Martin as a suspicious person on the day of the incident led to the unarmed 17-year-old’s fatal shooting, which Zimmerman claimed was an act of self-defense. Neighborhood Watch , penned by Seth Rogen , Evan Goldberg, and Jared Stern as a ” hard R ” and directed by Lonely Island ‘s Akiva Schaffer, is still on Fox’s schedule for a July 27 wide release. According to the THR report, the studio doesn’t plan on pushing back the debut, despite the ongoing furor over the Martin case. I’d like to think that Martin’s death will be resolved but not forgotten by then, if only to give his family and all who’ve become invested in the case some closure, but I’m skeptical that four months — or five, or a year, or any measure of time — will be long enough that I won’t be thinking of George Zimmerman while watching Ben Stiller blow away the aliens who darken his doorstep. When Bobby Brown was arrested this week on suspicion of DUI, few people were surprised. It wasn’t exactly the singer’s first arrest. Among those who saw another run in with the law coming for this New Edition members? Cissy Houston, the mother of Whitney who has been telling everyone in her circle that Bobby is a bad influence on 19-year old granddaughter Bobbi Kristina. Sources tell TMZ Cissy feels “vindicated” by the arrest and hopes the incident helps her case: that Brown should “keep his distance” from his child, who has been going through a great deal of turmoil since her mom’s passing last month. Referring to her dad, one insider says: “This is the last person she needs to be around.” It doesn’t sound like Bobbi will need much convincing. Rumors state that the teenager is hoping to change her last name in the near future in order to separate herself as much as possible from her law-breaking parent. [Photo: WENN.com]
It’s really not a good week to be a Kardashian. A few days after Kim Kardashian got flour bombed during one of her weekly red carpet appearances, brother Rob Kardashian actually got handcuffs and detained by a Miami police officer – and all due to a joke gone terribly wrong. Rob Kardashian Detained by Miami Police As reported by TMZ, Ron was chilling with friends when he noticed a member of the paparazzi taking photos of the group from across the street. He thought it would be hilarious to act like he was chasing the photographer… only for the photographer to actually run away screaming into a smoke shop. A cop saw the incident go down, handcuffed Kardashian and threw him into the back of a police car. But after interviewing all parties and realizing it was just a misunderstanding, authorities let Rob go. Now we’ll get to hear about this huge injustice all week long on various Kardashian blogs, Facebook pages and Twitter feeds. Great.
‘That probably is the craziest, unexpected, weird thing that’s happened to me,’ she says about flour-tossing incident in L.A. By Jocelyn Vena Kim Kardashian is covered in flour at her True Reflection fragrance launch on Thursday. Photo: Frazer Harrison/ Getty Images Kim Kardashian is making headlines again. At a fragrance launch event in Los Angeles on Thursday for her new perfume, True Reflection, the reality starlet was assaulted with a bag of flour. Kardashian was walking the red carpet at the London Hotel in West Hollywood when someone flour-bombed her. According to the Los Angeles Times, police and authorities were called to the scene. The assailant — who may or may not be the same person who shouted “fur hag” at the E! star — was taken into custody but later released after Kardashian decided not to press charges. Instead of making a big fuss over the incident, Kardashian went back to the carpet, where she continued to do interviews. “That probably is the craziest, unexpected, weird thing that’s happened to me,” Kim told E! News afterward. “Like I said to my makeup artist, I wanted more powder and that’s a whole lot of translucent powder right there.” The site also reported that it was Kardashian’s publicist who held down the suspect until authorities arrived. Kim’s mom, Kris Jenner, laughed off the incident, telling E! News, “If anybody comes at me with something, call security.” In the end, Kim apparently wasn’t too upset by any of it. On Twitter , she posted a lighthearted message: “Thx everyone who came last nite 2 support my new perfume True Reflection & the amazing women from Dress 4 Success! Last nite was eventful.” What do you think of Kim getting flour-bombed on the red carpet? Tell us in the comments!
This is a sad coda to the news that Whitney Houston’s death has been attributed to accidental drowning, and that cocaine and preexisting heart disease were factors in the incident. Now the people who loved the late singer are playing the blame game. Upon dousing Kim Kardashian with flour last night, a woman reportedly referred to the reality star as a “Fur Hag!” Does this mean PETA, who has called out the ex-sex tape star in the past for her fur coat affections, orchestrated the attack? No, the organization insists. But that doesn’t mean it’s sad the incident took place. Kim Kardashian: Flour Bombed! “It was not [us],” a rep for PETA tells TMZ, adding: “PETA has tried everything from polite letters to public protests, but Kim Kardashian has not been moved by the news that animals are beaten, electrocuted, and even skinned alive for real fur garments. Whoever threw that flour may reach her when our polite appeals did not.” And, hey, if flour is unsuccessful, no doubt a message from Courtney Stodden will do the trick.

Wow. Teachers sure are getting bold these days: Fairfax County school administrators are investigating a student’s allegations of racially insensitive behavior by a veteran English teacher at George C. Marshall High School. Ninth-grader Jordan Shumate said that during class this month, he was reading aloud a poem by acclaimed African American writer Langston Hughes when his teacher interrupted and directed him to read in a “blacker” style. “She told me, ‘Blacker, Jordan — c’mon, blacker. I thought you were black,’ ” said Shumate, who is African American. Shumate told his mother, Nicole Cober Page, about the incident Tuesday. She complained to school administrators. “We take these allegations very seriously, and we’re investigating,” Principal Jay Pearson said Friday. He declined to provide further details. Shumate, 14, and his mother identified the teacher as Marilyn Bart. Bart did not respond Thursday or Friday to e-mail and phone inquiries about the incident. Records show that Bart has worked in Fairfax schools since 1990. Another ninth-grader, Kaila Denny, said she witnessed the incident. Shumate was “just sitting there reading normally like any person would,” Denny said, when Bart instructed him to speak “blacker.” Shumate said that when he refused to continue reading the poem, Bart read it aloud herself, demonstrating what she meant. “She sounded like a maid in the 1960s,” Shumate said. “She read the poem like a slave, basically.” Shumate said he asked Bart that day whether she thinks all black people speak that way. She reprimanded him for talking out of turn, he said, and told him to take his seat. The poem Shumate read in class was Hughes’s “Ballad of the Landlord.” The poem, written in 1940, tells of a black tenant thrown in jail for challenging a deadbeat landlord. “Landlord, landlord,” it begins. “My roof has sprung a leak./Don’t you ’member I told you about it/Way last week? This week, in preparation for reading literature about the Holocaust, the teacher showed photographs to illustrate common stereotypes about different groups of people, Shumate said. Shumate said Bart showed an image of grape soda — a drink of choice among African Americans, according to a racial stereotype — and asked him to explain its meaning. Denny corroborated his account. “I do know the stereotypes,” Shumate said, “but she could change the questions so I’m not like the king of black people.” This lady was way out of pocket for this bullsh*t.
