LeAnn Rimes is a married woman once again. The country singer married actor Eddie Cibrian last night in a private, very un-hyped ceremony, but she confirmed the joyous news on Twitter afterward. “Eddie and I are overwhelmed by the amount of lovely well wishes. We are blessed and … I’m Mrs. Cibrian!!!!!” Rimes wrote on the social networking site. Rimes, 28, wore a Reem Acra gown as she and Cibrian, 37, exchanged personalized vows in a small, private affair Friday in front of about 40 guests. Eddie’s sons Mason, 7, and Jake, 4, from his previous marriage to Brandi Glanville – who recently called a truce with former rival LeAnn – were on hand. “So wonderful to wake up as husband and wife. Love to all of you,” she continued: Just in case anyone missed her Tweet, Rimes also updated her bio on the site … Where LeAnn Rimes’ description used to read, “Fiancee, Friend, Daughter, Caretaker To Everyone I Love Dearly, Incredibly Happy Woman….oh yeah, and I do this little thing called music and film too,” it now reads the following: “WIFE, Bonus Mom, Friend, Daughter, Caretaker To Everyone I Love Dearly, Incredibly Happy Woman… oh yeah, and I do this little thing called music and film.” Subtle, but life-changing status change. Controversial Fox News personality Glenn Beck has announced he will “transition off his daily program” on the network at an undetermined point later this year. He will instead focus on developing other projects for the network. Beck and Fox News released a joint statement regarding the decision, saying the final episode of Beck’s show, titled Glenn Beck , will air ” later this year .” Beck and Fox have not revealed the air date for the final episode. The statement explains Beck and Fox News “will work together to develop and produce a variety of television projects for air on the FOX News Channel as well as content for other platforms including FOX News’ digital properties.” Beck did not indicate if this decision was at all prompted by a sign from God. Speaking of such signs, how about that Japanese earthquake /tsunami! Wild.

By Eric Ditzian “Thor” trailer Photo: Paramount Pictures The latest “Thor” trailer spends far less time exploring the fantastical world of Asgard than it does delving into the mighty warrior’s Earth-based, conspiracy-filled, fish-out-of-water story. That’s hardly surprising. Even given the film’s Marvel badge-o-cool, a film that spans the unknown universe, touching on American scientists and mythical frosty villains, can come off a little hokey — more “Masters of the Universe” than previous Marvel blockbusters like “Iron Man.” Thus the new trailer hits on Thor’s humorous side, his ass-kicking abilities and the enemies he’ll face after being banished from his planet to our world. Precious little from Asgard can be found. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, director Kenneth Branagh discussed several villains that Thor (Chris Hemsworth) will face. “The story involves a clash with an ice planet and the frost giants who live therein,” he said. “They — as might be suggested by the name — are enormous creatures of incredible power who have been robbed of their power and glory by Odin, Thor’s father. What fuels a lot of this intense battle is revenge. This is an angry race, trying to get back at Thor and the Asgardians, the self-proclaimed guardians of the universe.” The new footage also features several looks at the Destroyer, a metallic, fire-shooting machine that will provide a serious challenge for Thor. “This series of metal bands form a giant, walking beast and open to reveal terrifying firepower,” Branagh explained. “In the right hands, this incredibly powerful device — awesome in its killing quality — is potentially a creature of extraordinary protective powers. In the wrong hands, it is a nightmare.” Co-starring Natalie Portman, Kat Dennings and Anthony Hopkins, “Thor” hits theaters in 3-D on May 6, 2011.
