Kim Kardashian is "Definitly Dating" Miles Austin

There are two reasons why celebrity gossip followers might believe Kim Kardashian is single: This tabloid cover. This alluring photo spread with Justin Bieber . But the first example listed is purposely misleading, while the second is simply gross. Also, Kim herself has now told E! News that she is “definitely dating” Miles Austin, a confirmation she had to make because the pair has not been seen together in awhile. There’s a good reason for that, Kim says: “He’s in the middle of his football season and he’s focused and I’m just trying to have fun and take everything really slow.” Kim Kardashian is going totally against type by dating Miles Austin. A source adds that Kardashian will visit Austin at Cowboys’ training camp in Dallas next week. Meanwhile, even though she’s proudly dating, Kim claims she’s in no rush to settle down. “I don’t feel any pressure [to have children]. Now is the one time in my life I can be 100% selfish. I’m not married; I don’t have kids; I can focus on my career.” And on avoiding crazed Justin Bieber fans that wish to do her harm due to the aforementioned pictorial. Seriously, Kim. Steer clear of these folks.

JetBlue Issues Steven Slater Statement, Vouchers for Flyers

After circulating an internal memo that made it clear JetBlue did not think of Steven Slater as a hero , the airline has now released a public statement. The light-hearted document reads: Sometimes the weird news is about us… It wouldn’t be fair for us to point out absurdities in other corners of the industry without acknowledging when it’s about us. Well, this week’s news certainly falls into that category. Perhaps you heard a little story about one of our flight attendants? While we can’t discuss the details of what is an ongoing investigation, plenty of others have already formed opinions on the matter. Like, the entire Internet. (The reason we’re not commenting is that we respect the privacy of the individual. People can speak on their own behalf; we won’t do it for them.) While this episode may feed your inner Office Space , we just want to take this space to recognize our 2,300 fantastic, awesome and professional Inflight Crewmembers for delivering the JetBlue Experience you’ve come to expect of us. You can’t make this shtick up. JetBlue has also issued a $100 voucher to those that were aboard Slater’s flight. Meanwhile, the largest flight attendants union around in existence is coming to the defense of Slater – literally! A day after he pleaded not guilty to a number of charges that could land him in prison, the Association of Flight Attendants says: “We want to advance the profession no matter what. Sometimes in order to do that we must help people who may not necessarily be members.” With that sentiment/goal in mind, the AFA has offered to fund Slater’s legal team, something he might have to consider. After all, the fed-up employee’s action could land him in prison for seven years. Wouldn’t it be depressing if Steve Slater spent more time behind bars than Lindsay Lohan ?

The unidentified caller Fantasia, who was not inside the singer#39;s North Carolina home, tells the emergency operator that Barrino is awake but someone had placed the American Idol season 3 champ, 26, in the shower to try “to keep her awake.” Fantasia Barrino was “slowly losing consciousness” after ingesting a bottle of aspirin Monday night, according to a tape of the 911 call. Mother of Steve Slater Comes to Defense of Former JetBlue Flight Attendant

Steven Slater is our hero. The irritated JetBlue Flight Attendant quit his job in hilarious, dramatic, illegal fashion yesterday, cursing off a passenger, grabbing two beers and exiting from a parked plane via its emergency slide. He’s since been arrested on charges of criminal mischief and reckless endangerment and might actually spend time in jail. As you might expect, Slater’s mother isn’t happy with this possibility. TMZ spoke to Slater’s ex-wife, Cynthia Susanne, who relayed his mom’s take on the situation. She confirms her son’s story that Steven “politely” asked a woman to return to her seat until the plane taxied to a full stop. In response, this individual cursed the flight attendant off and pulled down her bag from the overhead bin. Slater’s mom says her son described this action as “malicious.” The Slater family is also upset because a different passenger on the flight is making the media around today, trying to earn money off the incident, despite not even sitting anywhere close to the awful woman in question. Overall, it’s one of our favorite stories of the year. What do you think should happen to Steve Slater?

Steven Slater Ends Flight Attendant Career in Hilarious, Illegal Fashion

After over two decades of dealing with rude airline passengers, Steven Slater finally lost it today. The JetBlue flight attendant was aboard a recently-landed plane in New York’s Kennedy Airport when a woman got up prematurely to remove her baggage from the overhead bin. Slater approached the individual, only to be conked in the had with the suitcase and told to “f-ck off.” He responded by getting on the intercom and saying: “To the f—ing a–hole who told me to f— off, it’s been a good 28 years. I’ve had it. That’s it.” Slater then opened the emergency hatch, grabbed his two carry-on bags – and two beers! – and jumped down the inflatable airplane slide to safety. At least temporarily. According to The New York Daily News , Port Authority police were alerted to the incident and showed up at Slater’s home in Queens, where they found him in bed with his boyfriend. A neighbor says Slater was smiling as the cops walked him away in handcuffs. He’ll be charged with 2nd-and 4th-degree criminal mischief; 1st- and 2nd-degree reckless endangerment and criminal trespass in the 3rd degree; and faces up to seven years in jail. Sources, and Slater’s own MySpace page, confirm that he’s battled substance abuse. His father also recently died and he’s been taking care of his critically-ill mother. Both parents worked for the airline industry. Let’s all hope Steven Slater walks away from this altercation a free man. After all, as Phil Catelinet, a passenger on the flightn said afterwards: “I wish we could all quit our jobs like that.”

Actress Vonetta McGee Dies At Age 65

She appeared alongside Clint Eastwood in ‘The Eiger Sanction’ and in many blaxploitation films. By Kara Warner Vonetta McGee Photo: Los Angeles Times Actress Vonetta McGee, best known for her leading roles in the blaxploitation films “Blacula,” “Hammer” and “Shaft in Africa,” has died at age 65. The Los Angeles Times reports that McGee died Friday (July 9) after being admitted to a Berkeley, California, hospital for cardiac arrest, for which she was put on life support for two days. Born Lawrence Vonetta McGee in San Francisco on January 14, 1945, she caught the acting bug while attending college and landed her first film role in the 1968 spaghetti western “The Great Silence.” Times movie reviewer Kevin Thomas called McGee “one of the busiest and most beautiful black actresses” in 1972, the year “Hammer” and “Blacula” were released. She later appeared alongside Clint Eastwood in the action-thriller “The Eiger Sanction.” Other film credits include “The Lost Man,” “Detroit 9000,” “Brothers,” “Repo Man” and “To Sleep With Anger,” as well as many successful roles in television. Her “Hammer” co-star Fred Williamson said he was most pleased to see her alongside Clint Eastwood. “Not many black actors had that opportunity to be in a movie where color doesn’t matter,” he said. “Vonetta McGee was like a lot of actors and actresses at that time, like myself, Jim Brown, Richard Roundtree, Billy Dee Williams and Pam Grier, in that we had more talent than we were allowed to show because everything was perceived as a black project. Once they categorize you, your marketability becomes limited.” Though she is known primarily for her roles in blaxploitation films, McGee outwardly criticized Hollywood’s profligation of the term. She told the Times in 1979 that the wording was “like racism, so you don’t have to think of the individual elements, just the whole. If you study propaganda, you understand how this works.” She is survived by her husband, Carl Lumbly; son Brandon; her mother; three brothers; and a sister. Kim Kardashian to Release Second Fragrance

You just couldn’t let Bruce Willis have the spotlight, could you Kim Kardashian?!? The same week this movie star came out with ” the manlest scene in the world ,” Kim announced that she’ll release her second fragrance in February 2011. We can’t believe we need to wait so long to smell like the sweat of Miles Austin. “I am so excited to tell you guys that my second fragrance will launch in February of 2011!!!!! I wanted to let you guys know here first so you can all share the excitement with me,” Kim wrote on her blog , adding that the theme is “glamorous.” Replied a user on Kardashian’s official site: KIM thats GREAT NEWS!!!!! Im so glad bc honestly your current fragrance didnt work for me, I really wanted to like it, I bought to support u bc I love u and am a big big big fan, but the scent was to “flowery” for me. Hope your new one is different, so i can wear. But regardless I will purchase it! That sums up Kim’s fan base well: blindly supportive, vocal with their affection for this professional celebrity, yet honest about the utter lack of value she has to offer to them and/or the world in general. Meanwhile, it’s ironic this individual found the fragrance to be too flowery. This reality star was deflowered years ago on tape. We all saw it .

Newspaper Editor Questions Whether Pro-Aborts Are to Blame for Misspelled Pro-Abortion Graffiti

Somewhere between 7 p.m. on June 14 and 7 p.m. on June 15, vandals spray painted graffiti, as seen on the top right photo, on the home of Dubuque, Iowa pro-lifer Allen Troupe. They were most likely incited by a sign in one of the windows of Troupe’s home, as seen on the bottom right photo. Click both photos to enlarge. Troupe filed a police report and anticipated the same level of fair and balanced media coverage one would expect were pro-life graffiti to appear on the home of an abortion proponent – i.e., lots. But not only did the local paper, the finally posted a story about the vandalism on June 23, but catch the headline: Troupe “believes” the graffiti on his home was tied to his abortion opposition, but that may not be true? The story’s 1st sentence reiterated the point: Police are investigating a vandalism case involving a man who believes his house was targeted due to his opposition to Planned Parenthood and abortion. So Troupe could have been in actuality drawing wild conclusions or hallucinating? These journalists are either utterly biased or totally void of common sense and simple intelligence.

Five Out of Five Lib Journalists Agree: Obama’s Big Government Push Helps Dems in ’10!

On the syndicated Chris Matthews show over the weekend, Chris Matthews praised Barack Obama’s “legislative success” in getting all sorts of overbearing, big government laws passed and asked his panel to rate if those wins in Congress will lead to victory for the Democratic Party in the fall. Just before closing his show Matthews posed the following big question to HDNet’s Dan Rather, the BBC’s Katty Kay, CNN’s Gloria Borger and the Politico’s John Harris: “Will the President’s legislative success with the stimulus, with health care, with Wall Street reform and maybe even an energy bill be a net positive or negative for his party this fall?” The following are their individual responses as aired on the June 27 Chris Matthews Show: CHRIS MATTHEWS: Welcome back. This week another big feather in Barack Obama’s cap – Wall Street reform. Which brings us to our big question. Will the President’s legislative success with the stimulus, with health care, with Wall Street reform and maybe even an energy bill be a net positive or negative for his party this fall? Dan Rather? DAN RATHER, HDNET: Slight positive. MATTHEWS: Katty? KATTY KAY, BBC: Net positive. MATTHEWS: Gloria? GLORIA BORGER, CNN: I’m with Dan, slight positive. JOHN HARRIS, POLITICO: Positive. Takes away the Jimmy Carter ineffectual argument. MATTHEWS: Wow! Slight positive. Maybe just solid positive.

Is the U.S. a Fascist Police-State?

With yesterday’s Holder v. Humanitarian Law Project decision (No. 08-1498, also 09-89) of the Supreme Court, coupled with last week’s Arar v. Ashcroft denial of certiorari (No. 09-923), the case for claiming that the U.S. is a fascist police-state just got a whole lot stronger. First of all, what is a “fascist police-state”? A police-state uses the law as a mechanism to control any challenges to its power by the citizenry, rather than as a mechanism to insure a civil society among the individuals. The state decides the laws, is the sole arbiter of the law, and can selectively (and capriciously) decide to enforce the law to the benefit or detriment of one individual or group or another. In a police-state, the citizens are “free” only so long as their actions remain within the confines of the law as dictated by the state. If the individual’s claims of rights or freedoms conflict with the state, or if the individual acts in ways deemed detrimental to the state, then the state will repress the citizenry, by force if necessary. (And in the end, it’s always necessary.) What’s key to the definition of a police-state is the lack of redress: If there is no justice system which can compel the state to cede to the citizenry, then there is a police-state. If there exists apro forma justice system, but which in practice is unavailable to the ordinary citizen because of systemic obstacles (for instance, cost or bureaucratic hindrance), or which against all logic or reason consistently finds in favor of the state—even in the most egregious and obviously contradictory cases—then that pro forma judiciary system is nothing but a sham: A tool of the state’s repression against its citizens. Consider the Soviet court system the classic example. A police-state is not necessarily a dictatorship. On the contrary, it can even take the form of a representative democracy. A police-state is not defined by its leadership structure, but rather, by its self-protection against the individual. A definition of “fascism” is tougher to come by—it’s almost as tough to come up with as a definition of “pornography”. The sloppy definition is simply totalitarianism of the Right, “communism” being the sloppy definition of totalitarianism of the Left. But that doesn’t help much. For our purposes, I think we should use the syndicalist-corporatist definition as practiced by Mussolini: Society as a collection of corporate and union interests, where the state is one more competing interest among many, albeit the most powerful of them all, and thus as a virtue of its size and power, taking precedence over all other factions. In other words, society is a “street-gang” model that I discussed before. The individual has power only as derived from his belonging to a particular faction or group—individuals do not have inherent worth, value or standing. Now then! Having gotten that out of the way, where were we?… Continued at: http://www.prisonplanet.com/is-the-u-s-a-fascist-police-state.html added by: Dagum
