‘LHHNYS9’ Recap: MariahLynn Says To Take Yandy With A ‘Salt of Grain’

Source: Albert L. Ortega / Getty Tonight’s episode of Love and Hip-Hop New York is all drama and heartbreak. The drama is all the typical stuff we’re used to. But the heartbreak is all about Miracle’s case. It’s looking like she might be going to jail but hold that thought. First, we start the episode with Jonathan waiting to get some botox done. He introduces Sidney Starr to MariahLynn as they wait with him in the lobby. Two seconds after introducing Sidney, Jonathan starts with the mess. He prompts Sidney to explain her situation with Nya Lee to MariahLynn. Basically, Sidney Starr said she felt like Nya Lee was attacking her womanhood. Jonathan says he understands but doesn’t think Nya Lee meant to come off that way (it does seem like Sidney is being sensitive). Jonathan has a bright idea for all of them to get out of the city on the weekend. The plan is to visit a wine vineyard upstate and have a good time. Suuuuuure. This is going to go well. Let’s fast forward to the vineyard. Sidney Starr rides up with Kimbella and Cyn Santana, who are just meeting her. You know Sidney Starr can be intense, however, Kimbella and Cyn actually listen to her as she tells her side of the story and reserve their judgment. Jonathan didn’t tell Nya Lee that he invited Sydney, but luckily Nya Lee manages to not have a meltdown at the sight of Sidney. Nya Lee’s plan is to just ignore, ignore, ignore. However, things take a left turn swiftly when Sidney pulls Nya Lee aside to ask for another chance, but Nya doesn’t think she’s sincere and that she’s just trying to use her…since she’s soooo connected in the industry. Nya also isn’t ready to talk to Sidney so she gets annoyed by Sidney’s repeated attempts to get back into her good graces. It really just seems like Sidney is trying too hard to fit in but these low emotional IQ people can’t really see that. Let’s fast forward some more. At this point, the group is stomping grapes and Sidney just won’t leave Nya Lee alone. She says she misses Nya Lee’s friendship. Cyn messy arse chimes in, asking why Sidney bucked at her that time. Sidney said she bucked at Nya to make her shut up. That triggers Nya, and she starts yelling at Sidney and really coming off like a bully. She gets in Sidney’s face and says she wants to check her but Sidney clearly doesn’t want to fight. They’re finally separated and we try to move on. Jonathan, Nya Lee, MariahLynn and Kimbella are left sitting together now (Cyn went to check on Sidney) and MariahLynn and Kimbella randomly start talking about the Yandy adoption situation. Both women are bothered by it because they think Yandy is fake and doing this for attention. MariahLynn even tells Jonathan to take Yandy’s moves with this adoption situation with a “salt of grain.” A salt of grain. Um, what? And you know what? She paused long enough for someone to correct her. No one did. Jonathan is still cool with Yandy, feels no type of way about her, and really wishes they’d shut up about her. Kimbella gets irritated with Jonathan defending Yandy so she walks away from the conversation. Jonathan says if he has to choose a side he’s always going to choose Yandy. Mariah feels some type of way about that. Basically, Jonathan is speaking hypothetically, but MariahLynn feels like he actually just told her to go somewhere (which he really didn’t). Then Nya Lee says jokingly that he’s only going to be in a tough situation if he has to choose between her and Yandy. Again, this is all hypothetical but it triggers MariahLynn so she storms away in a huff talking about how she doesn’t need friends because she has herself. Nya Lee, taken aback by MariahLynn’s tantrum, replies, “Oooh child” and that sets MariahLynn off (to be fair, MariahLynn was already annoyed with Nya Lee from how she treated Sidney Starr earlier). They get to arguing. Mariah Lynn is irritated that Nya was so quick to try to fight. Nya is annoyed because MariahLynn was, “Trying to test her gangsta.” Yeah, they’re both goofy. Anyway, Jonathan says MariahLynn is at fault for this situation for taking something personal that wasn’t about her. It’s all good though because you know that bomb Love and Hip-Hop security got the situation handled. Meanwhile, Nya Lee starts crying because “She let MariahLynn get her out of character and that he’s embarrassed because she’s trying to be better. Self-control is free. Anyway, now we get to the heartbreak. Rich Dollaz flew down to Mississippi to be present for Miracle’s hearing. It looks like things aren’t going to go well. She doesn’t have to go in front of the judge at the moment because the judge said she’s not comfortable offering a plea deal right now. In other words, there is no plea deal so Miracle has to go to trial. If she loses, and she might, because you know how these things go, she faces 2-20 years. It’s the State versus Miracle, not even the man she shot most likely in self-defense. The lawyer says Miracle has a strong case, but Rich brings up a good point—the State is not about to waste all this money on trial and not get something back from Miracle. Mo’Nique Drags Whoopi Goldberg: She’s ‘Always Been The Help’

Source: Blackbird Film Fest Team / Blackbird Film Fest Team In a recent interview with Vulture , Mo’Nique didn’t hold back and had some choice words about Whoopi Goldberg . “She’s always been the help,” the Oscar winner said about her fellow Oscar winner. See, her comments were related to the last time she was in the hot seat The View discussing her career and 2018 Netflix boycott for offering a measly 500K for her own stand-up special. Apparently, Whoopi told her she could have “schooled” the veteran comedian on how to understand contracts. “When you have a woman saying, ‘I could have schooled you,’ someone would say, ‘What was the schooling going to be?’ When I look at this woman you say is our icon and our legend — she is,” Mo’Nique stressed. “But, how many things has Whoopi Goldberg executive produced? Whoopi Goldberg has always been the help, and I say that humbly. So what is it that you’re going to school me on? I’ve been doing it for almost 30 years.” (FACT CHECK: Vanity Fair pointed out that Goldberg has actually produced 30 projects, but we digress.) In addition, the actress brought up some of Whoopi’s own problematic past. “This is a woman who says ‘I could have schooled you,’ and this is a woman who accepted Ted Danson in blackface, and our community praises this woman,” she added. “So often times, we do it to ourselves. But, I just can’t. Understand, I love my sister. However, when you know you’re being fed the wrong food, you must say, ‘I can’t chew this, y’all.’” Mo also shared some details about a behind the scenes conversation she had with Whoopi, expressing to The View co-host that she hoped her boycott would help the future queens in comedy who should know to demand their worth. According to her, Whoopi wasn’t having that either. “In that moment I knew I was looking at a woman who didn’t give a damn about me,” Mo’Nique said. “And if she’s telling me, ‘Stop worrying about that little girl who not here yet,’ well, she forgot about the ones that came before her who were worried about her.” Welp! Remember, last summer she released a secret recording of the director and Precious executive producer telling her she had been mistreated by those in the industry and how her career stalled after winning the Academy Award. Caught on tape, Perry claimed he was going to speak up for her. Yet, let Mo tell it, that never happened. “Here’s the thing: he’s never done it,” Mo’Nique said. “We had given Tyler Perry a year to keep his word. Brother, you said you were going to come out and say something. Well, you never came out and said anything. And what was disheartening was people who were saying, ‘How could you tape him?’ But, they weren’t saying, ‘Oh my God, did you hear what he said? He said she wasn’t wrong.’” She continued, saying, “We didn’t accept any money.” Neither Whoopi or Tyler have responded to Mo’Nique’s comments. The actress won Best Performance By An Actress In A Supporting Role for “If Beale Street Could Talk” and during her speech she vowed to employ more women on her projects. Danielle Staub Files Second Restraining Order Against Marty Caffrey

Back in August, The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Danielle Staub was granted a restraining order against her husband, Marty Caffrey. Now, Danielle has been granted a second restraining order. She says that Marty will not leave her alone, let alone grant her the divorce that they both so sorely need.. Us Weekly reports that a rep for Danielle Staub has confirmed that Marty has been issued a temporary restraining order. The order against her estranged husband, which will be good for 10 days, was for the personal safety of Danielle and her children. Danielle has two adult daughters: Christine, age 24, and Jillian, age 20. An inside source explains that a factor in this second restraining order was an allegation against Marty of emotional abuse. “She couldn’t take it anymore,” the insider shares grimly. Emotional abuse can be serious, and it sounds like that was just one of the issues that drove Danielle to this desperate measure. “She went to the police department last night to file it,” the source reveals. Based upon Us Weekly’s reporting, we take that to mean Wednesday night — January 2. “It will be good for ten days,” the insider notes. Ten days, we hope, will be enough time for Danielle to either resolve the situation or obtain another, more permanent court order. “Danielle has been trying to end the marriage,” the source explains. Danielle and Marty married in May, but split just months later. “He’s been telling people that Danielle wants to work on their marriage, but it isn’t true,” the insider reports. Chillingly, the source adds: “He wont let her go.” That is very alarming to hear. The insider reports that Danielle’s legla team has “made four settlement offers to Marty.” “He’s refused all of them,” the source states. The insider adds that Marty has also “refused mediation.”  “He’s intentionally dragging this out,” the insider accuses. “He has a second home nearby,” the source notes. “But refuses to leave the house that Danielle is living in.” Marty tells Us Weekly that he hasn’t “even seen Danielle [much]” and doesn’t know “why she would need a restraining order.” “I think what’s gone on here is that the last three episodes of the Housewives …” he theorizes. “Danielle has been portrayed her as this crazy bitch to everybody, including me, my kids, and Margaret and other cast members,” Marty speculates. That’s true. Danielle lashed out on camera . It’s part of her job, basically. “She received profound backlash messages on social media that she didn’t expect,” Marty claims. “It has thrown her for a loop,” he concludes. “And she’s taken out the blame on me.” Just weeks ago, Danielle herself opened up to Us Weekly about Marty’s behavior. “The fact that anyone would use your partner’s past,” she began. “As a way to abuse them.” Danielle continued: “and then verbally abuse and emotionally abuse my daughter or my children or my friends that are around me.” “There isn’t one woman that he’s had a conversation with that could say that he’s not an abusive man,” Danielle emphasized.  ”It’s erratic behavior and it’s constant. August Ames: Podcast Reveals Shocking New Details of Porn Star’s Suicide

In December of 2017, the adult film world was shocked by the suicide of August Ames , an up-and-coming 23-year-old performer who had recently taken the industry by storm. Ames’ death came on the heels of an ugly social media confrontation prompted by some controversial comments she made about a fellow performer. “Whichever (lady) performer is replacing me tomorrow for @EroticaXNews, you’re shooting with a guy who has shot gay porn, just to let cha know,” Ames tweeted just two days before her passing. “BS is all I can say… Do agents really not care about who they’re representing?… I do my homework for my body.” The tweet prompted immediate backlash from both fans and fellow performers, many of whom accused Ames of homophobia. Ames — who was herself bisexual — quickly clarified her position, tweeting: “NOT homophobic. Most girls don’t shoot with guys who have shot gay porn, for safety. That’s just how it is with me. I’m not putting my body at risk, i don’t know what they do in their private lives.” The charge to denigrate Ames was led by fellow adult performers Jaxton Wheeler and Jessica Drake, who recently claimed she was harassed by Donald Trump . “Performers, by all means, f–k who you want to f–k…but if you’re eliminating folks based on the fact they they (sic) may have done gay or crossover work, your logic is seriously flawed,” Drake tweeted. “Reality is, WE DON’T KNOW who does what with whom when there are no cameras.” Within hours of Drake’s tweet, Ames was found dead in a public park roughly 20 minutes from her home. Her death was ruled a suicide by hanging. At the Adult Video News Awards six weeks later, Ames’ widower, Kevin Moore, was greeted with thunderous applause when he took the stage to defend the right of all performers to work with whomever they choose. Drake was in the audience as fans wearing t-shirts honoring Ames gave Moore a standing ovation. The narrative that formed around Ames’ death was quick and convenient — PC hysteria had led to rampant cyberbullying, which resulted in Ames’ decision to take her own life. Now, however, in a new podcast entitled the Last Days of August , author Jon Ronson argues that the situation is far more complex than originally thought. Throughout her life, Ames was open about her traumatic childhood and her struggles with mental illness. Ronson says her short time in the adult film industry shattered Ames’ psyche, a theory he formed after viewing the final scene that she filmed, which has never been released to the public. “When you think about it, what we were watching in that moment was the moment that she decided to die. That’s what we were watching and it’s awful,” Ronson recently told the New York Post . “That was the truth of it, that was the moment when she reached the point of no return. The Twitter bullying may have been the icing on the cake, as some people described it.” Ronson says the scene very clearly took Ames outside of her comfort zone as she was brutalized by a domineering Russian porn star named Markus Dupree. “On more than one occasion in the footage, Markus forcefully repositions August, which visibly startles her,” Ronson’s co-host, Jessica Misitzis, says in the podcast. “She says ‘Whoa s–t!’ and at one point Markus picks up her pink thong, stretches it around her head, jerks her around by it, and then shoves it in her mouth. “At the end of her scene, August is interviewed by a crew member to establish consent for legal purposes. She’s staring straight into the camera, holding up her check for the day’s work, her makeup’s gone and her hair is pulled back, she looks resigned and emotional and hollow all at once,” Mitzis adds. “‘Were you treated OK?’ she’s asked. And flatly, and quietly she says, ‘Yes.’ For the first time in this footage, all the camera is focused on is August’s face and she seems like she’s verging on tears.” In text messages viewed by Ronson and Mitzis, Ames complains to a friend that Dupree went “full on War Machine,” a reference to the adult perfomer who assaulted Christy Mack  in 2014. Six weeks after filming that scene, Ames took her own life. The Last Days of August is currently available on Audible.

Gene Okerlund Dies; Iconic WWE Announcer Was 76

We have our first major celebrity death of 2019. According to the WWE, beloved announcer “Mean” Gene Okerlund is no longer with us. The legendary brodcaster, who conducted some of the best-known interviews in company history with such stalwarts as Hulk Hogan and Randy “Macho Man” Savage, was 76 years old. In its statement, the WWE did not say exactly when or how Okerlund passed away, simply writing as a tribute: “WWE is saddened to learn that WWE Hall of Famer Gene Okerlund, the most recognizable interviewer in sports-entertainment history, has passed away at age 76.” Okerlund was given his nickname by the former Minnesota Governor Jesse “The Body” Ventura, who was also an announcer with the organization before getting into politics. He got his start at Omaha radio station KOIL before moving to Minneapolis, where he worked for a local TV station and eventually found work with the WWE in 1983. Okerlund actually performed the National Anthem at the first WrestleMania in 1985 and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2006. His last appeared on Monday Night Raw took place in January of 2018, during which time he interviewed AJ Styles. As news of Okerlund’s death spread around the Internet, numerous stars (past and present) sent along their tributes and best wishes. He was the star of some of @WWE’s most memorable segments. “Mean Gene” was beloved by all who got to work with him. Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.
