CNN’s Larry King Replacement Praises Obama For Improving America’s Image Abroad

In a Thursday interview with CBS Early Show special contributor Amanda Holden, Larry King replacement Piers Morgan talked about his new CNN show and who would be at the top of his guest list: “Well, I’d love to do President Obama. I like what he’s done for the reputation of America abroad, which I’m not sure many Americans fully understand.” The second on Morgan’s list: “Bill Clinton, another one….One of the most charismatic people I’ve ever seen.” At the mention of Clinton, Holden gushed: “Oh, yes. I’d love you to interview him.” Holden concluded her report by proclaiming: “[Piers] is a complete news junky and he tells me that he cannot wait for the next big story to break….he knew he wanted to be a reporter since he was 6 years old. Aww. Replacing Larry King is really a dream come true for him.” While teasing Holden’s exclusive interview with Morgan earlier in the broadcast, co-host Harry Smith gave the British talker a ringing endorsement: “…the big headline, Piers Morgan gets Larry King’s job….He’s got an amazing, interesting newspaper background and he may actually have the right feet to fill those shoes.” Here is a full transcript of Holden’s September 9 interview with Morgan: 7:01AM ET TEASE: HARRY SMITH: Also this morning, the big headline, Piers Morgan gets Larry King’s job. He’ll be taking over that time slot at CNN. 7:40AM ET SEGMENT: HARRY SMITH: CNN has officially announced that Piers Morgan from ‘America’s Got Talent’ will replace Larry King when he leaves his long-running prime time program in January. Early Show special contributor Amanda Holden recently visited with Piers Morgan. She joins us now from London with an Early Show exclusive. Amanda, good morning. AMANDA HOLDEN: Good morning, Harry. Well, some of you know me as one of the judges on ‘Britain’s Got Talent.’ Truth be told, I sit right between Piers Morgan and Simon Cowell, quite an extraordinary place to be, let me tell you. On American television, Piers is seen weekly as a talent judge, but in England he’s also known as a veteran journalist who’s covered news all over the world. I sat down with Piers for a personal conversation and he told me how he approached CNN and then campaigned to replace the king of talk. LARRY KING: Welcome to CNN, Piers. PIERS MORGAN: Thank you very much. It’s a great honor- HOLDEN: With that hand shake Larry King ended an era and handed over the reins of his 25-year-old show to British journalist Piers Morgan. KING: With that chapter closing I’m looking forward to the future. What my next chapter will bring. But for now, for here, it’s time to hang up the nightly suspenders. HOLDEN: It was a storied career that included some 40,000 interviews, King’s been the man everyone’s opened up to. KING: Who gave you this ring? ELIZABETH TAYLOR: Richard. HOLDEN: A frenzy of speculation erupted as to who would replace the industry legend. Familiar names like Ryan Seacrest, Joy Behar, and Howard Stern were mentioned. The name that quickly emerged as the frontrunner was actually the British journalist. MORGAN: If I’m as memorable in 40 years’ time as he’s become, I’ll be absolutely thrilled. HOLDEN: Now in one of his very first interviews since the news became public, Morgan says the enormity of the job is still sinking in. MORGAN: I’ll admit, he’s one of my heroes. And what I loved about the show, always, is that he could do a president one minute and Paris Hilton the next and be equally comfortable. [CLIP FROM ‘AMERICA’S GOT TALENT’] MORGAN: And I decided there were too many missed notes. HOLDEN: Many recognize Piers in this country as a talent show and from the show that discovered Susan Boyle, ‘Britain’s Got Talent.’ He also happens to be one of the most respected interviewers in the U.K. On his show, ‘Piers Morgan’s Life Stories,’ he’s faced off with prime ministers. MORGAN: Well let me spell it out for you, there are a lot of narcotics swashing around in university. GORDON BROWN: No, I’ve never touched cannabis, never touched any hard drugs. MORGAN: Never inhaled, exhaled. HOLDEN: My husband always says that you – you pump the cushions up nicely – plump them up – and then you whack them. MORGAN: I don’t think I whack people, but I do, I think probably what I’m known for in Britain most is asking very direct questions. MORGAN: How vain are you? SIMON COWELL: Not that vain, actually. I’m actually not. MORGAN: How have you kept a straight face saying that? Actually, I know how you kept a straight face. From the Botox. HOLDEN: Piers’ unique style has made him an insider on both sides of the Atlantic, from Hollywood’s elite to Britain’s royals. MORGAN: I had a lunch with Diana and Prince William when he was 13. She looked absolutely beautiful in the flesh. I remember thinking the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen in my life. HOLDEN: Now obviously, American audiences have absolutely no idea, really, of your journalistic background. And you have feasted on celebrities in our country. MORGAN: Well, I find the celebrity culture fascinating, but I also find a lot of them to be overpaid, underworked, pampered little prima donnas. So when I find whining celebrities, it really gets on my nerves. HOLDEN: With his new CNN show starting in January, it’s not too soon for Piers to be thinking about who he’d like to talk to. MORGAN: Well, I’d love to do President Obama. I like what he’s done for the reputation of America abroad, which I’m not sure many Americans fully understand. Bill Clinton, another one. HOLDEN: Oh, yes. I’d love you to interview him. MORGAN: One of the most charismatic people I’ve ever seen. I’d also love to get Mel Gibson, what a story he’s got to tell. HOLDEN: Yeah. No matter who he’s sitting across from, Piers is determined to make his mark on TV. MORGAN: I want to become the person that, you know, big stars in America, big public figures, feel they can go to for an entertaining encounter, but they’ll be thinking that wasn’t an easy ride. That’s the perfect interview environment. HOLDEN: Piers’ now show doesn’t have a name yet, but it will be based in New York. He’ll also shuttle between Los Angeles and London. He’s a complete news junky and he tells me that he cannot wait for the next big story to break. His grandfather was journalist, as was his father for a while, and he said that he knew he wanted to be a reporter since he was 6 years old. Aww. Replacing Larry King is really a dream come true for him. SMITH: Talk to me a little bit more about his background, because we really only know him from the reality show here in the United States and a little from the one in the U.K.. He really does have a kind of a wide knowledge of all kinds of celebrities. HOLDEN: I mean, he has dozens and dozens of celebrities he’s interviewed. And many of them now have become his friends. I can tell you one story that I can share that he – Piers told me that he was actually the person that introduced Paul McCartney to Heather Mills and encouraged him to go out with her. And we all know how that ended. And apparently, Sir Paul McCartney later said, ‘thanks, mate, that cost me 50 million.’ SMITH: Just 50 million. HOLDEN: Oh, and another bit of juicy gossip was that Piers told me that Sarah Ferguson begged him for an introduction to Tiger Woods just – well, not near the scandal, but a few years before the scandal broke. But he didn’t. And I think she had a lucky escape because she might have been on that list of conquests. SMITH: Wow, there you go. Amanda, thank you so much. Love the insight. HOLDEN: Thank you. Left Wing Nation Magazine: Schoolteachers ‘Exclude Progressive Ideas and Viewpoints’

The folks at the far-left Nation Magazine have finally figured out the problem that continues to plague the American education system: it’s dominated by right-wingers! Seriously. That’s what they think. Or at least what they’re claiming. A spokesman for the Nation whined to the Daily Caller’s Chris Moody about a supposed “tendency for classes to exclude progressive ideas and viewpoints.” Most people who have ever set foot in a classroom are now scratching their heads in confusion. Moody reported: “The real idea behind it is to bring the left perspective to issues to make sure students have both left and right available to them,” the Nation’s Vice President of Circulation Art Stupar told TheDC. “This is an opportunity for students to view what the progressive left thinks about a particular issue.” The liberal magazine sends online curriculum guides each week to teachers that include experts from the magazine, talking points about current events and suggested discussion topics for the classroom. The guides are a part of the magazine’s “learning packs,” which offer educators access to its archives dating back to shortly after the Civil War. “In this year of economic uncertainty and critical mid-term elections, the corporate-owned media will not be offering lessons about: our rigged political system; the conservative crusade against Muslims; the phony ‘panic’ over debt; vets abandoned by the VA; taxes and the Tea Party and much, much more,” read the magazine’s announcement for the new school year, which begins today for many students around the country. Let’s see. College professors give money to Democrats over Republicans by a greater than 7-1 margin . Ninety-six percent of teachers’ unions political contributions since 1990 have gone to Democrats. And this is the industry the Nation claims is suffering from a tragic deficit of leftist thought. Of course those numbers are not surprising to anyone who is, you know, paying attention. And those willing to acknowledge reality will not need to look at the NEA’s balance sheet to recognize the sheer absurdity of the premises underlying the Nation’s campaign. National Review publisher Jack Fowler, who called the Nation’s effort “laughable,” clearly has a firm grasp on reality. “We have no outreach to the three conservative professors that there are,” he told the DC.

STORY HIGHLIGHTS * Louisiana governor says one worker is injured * Coast Guard reports a “sheen” from platform that produced oil and gas * The incident did not cause a spill, says company that owns rig * Thirteen people are accounted for after the fire, the Coast Guard says (CNN) — A well connected to an oil and gas production platform caught on fire in the Gulf of Mexico on Thursday, engulfing the vessel in flames about 100 miles off the central coast of Louisiana and forcing 13 people overboard, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal said. All 13 people have been accounted for, said Petty Officer Bill Colclough of the Coast Guard. They were found floating in the Gulf, officials said. Mariner Energy, which owns the Vermilion Oil Rig 380, said none of the crew members was hurt in the incident, despite earlier reports of a single injured worker. But Jindal said one worker was injured. Jindal said the 13 were transported to Terrebonne General Hospital for evaluation. Also, Mariner indicated that the fire — which was first reported to the Coast Guard by workers on a nearby rig around 9:20 a.m. (10:20 a.m. ET) — was not sparked by an explosion. It started at one of the platform's seven active wells, the company said, though its cause is under investigation. The cause is not yet known, Jindal said Thursday afternoon. The company said an initial flyover of the site indicated “no hydrocarbon spill.” However, Coast Guard Petty Officer Elizabeth Bordelon said there is a sheen on the water at the site of the platform, measuring about 100 feet wide and stretching for one mile. Jindal said the sheen can't be confirmed. The fire at the platform is not out yet, but it has been contained, Bordelon said. “Mariner Energy recently told us that they shut in the production platform, I want to stress that neither the state nor the U.S. Coast Guard have verified that information at this time,” said Jindal. “We are working with the Coast Guard to ensure that the platform is indeed shut in and not leaking anything into the water.” Jindal said that Mariner has told him that all seven wells have been closed off and that what is burning now is from fuel in storage, and not from an active leak. During the last week of August, production from the platform averaged approximately 9.2 million cubic feet of natural gas a day and 1,400 barrels (58,800 gallons) of oil, the company said. David Reed, a paramedic on board a nearby oil rig, said he suddenly saw “a bunch of smoke” from the direction of the Vermilion platform, and radios in his rig's control room started “lighting up like a Christmas tree” soon after. The first report of the fire came from Rotorcraft Leasing, a company that provides helicopter services for the industry, the Coast Guard said. The incident comes nearly five months after the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig exploded April 20, killing 11 people and causing a massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico — one of the worst environmental disasters in U.S. history. That oil rig, contracted by BP, had 126 workers. It burned for three days before finally sinking. Thursday's incident took place aboard a production platform, which is built after a well is drilled and remains in place for years. Oil rigs drill the wells. The platforms pump pressure down the hole to keep the well flowing, and sometimes collect the oil or gas, or both. U.S. agencies and BP capped the ruptured Deepwater Horizon well July 15, stopping the flow of oil into the Gulf. The effects of the huge spill could hurt the region for years. The failure of the well's blowout preventer triggered the April 20 explosion, and crews are expected to remove the equipment from the well since it may hold valuable forensic evidence as to why it failed. The Obama administration tried to impose a six-month moratorium on deepwater drilling in the wake of the explosion on the Deepwater Horizon in April, but the ban is in legal limbo. A group of companies that provide boats and equipment to the deepwater drilling industry sued to overturn the ban and won in June. The government tried again in July, imposing a new moratorium and asking for the suit to be thrown out. A federal judge refused this week to dismiss it. The Vermilion platform did not violate the moratorium, said Melissa Schwartz, spokeswoman for the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement, which replaced the Minerals Management Service. “This was an oil and gas production platform in approximately 340 feet of water, 102 miles offshore Louisiana (80 nautical miles),” she said. “This platform was authorized to produce oil and gas at this water depth. The current suspension involves drilling rigs in water depths greater than 500 feet,” she said. White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said Thursday that the federal government has “assets ready” to respond to any environmental problems resulting from the fire on the Vermilion structure. Mariner Energy describes itself as one of the leading independent oil and gas exploration and production companies in the Gulf of Mexico. The company said it had interests in about 350 federal offshore leases last year, with more than 110 of the 350 in development. The company has about 300 employees. Its most recent quarterly net income was $1.7 million. Shares of Mariner Energy fell 60 cents to $22.75 on Thursday. The company is in the process of a planned merger with a larger company, Apache Corp. The merger is about four to six weeks away from completion, an Apache spokesman said. Richest lawmakers grew wealthier as economy faltered

The rest of the country is still struggling with high unemployment amid a sluggish-at-best economic recovery — but the wealthiest members of Congress are in high cotton. Indeed, the top 50 wealthiest lawmakers saw their combined net worths increase last year, according to the Hill's annual analysis of financial disclosure documents. Combined, the 50 lawmakers were worth $1.4 billion in 2009 — an $85.1 million increase over their 2008 total — the Hill reports. The members' total combined assets depreciated by nearly $36 million last year — but Congress' well-to-do set also reduced their debts by a combined $120 million. The list of 50 lawmakers spans both parties (27 Democrats and 23 Republicans) and both chambers of Congress (30 House members, 20 senators), the Hill reports. Democratic Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts topped the list for the second year in a row; Republican Rep. Michael McCaul of Texas made his debut in the top 10. Here are profiles for the 10 most flush Hill power-and-money brokers: 1. Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.): $188.6 million. Kerry's worth, which grew by $20 million in 2009, stems from his wife's assets. Teresa Heinz Kerry, of the Heinz ketchup family, inherited hundreds of millions upon the death of her previous husband, Sen. John Heinz. 2. Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.): $160.1 million. Issa actually saw his minimum net worth drop by $4 million, partly due to the poor performance of a single investment fund. Issa's fortune stems from investments he and his wife made in the electronics market. Their company eventually became the largest producer of car anti-theft devices in the country. They sold the business in 2000. 3. Rep. Jane Harman (D-Calif.): $152.3 million. Harman is married to audio-equipment mogul Sidney Harman; stock holdings from his company, Harman International Industries, helped Harman's net worth grow by $40 million last year. No surprise here: The Rockefeller family name has for generations been a byword for fabulous riches. But the senator's uptick in personal wealth last year came mainly from his wife's investments. 5. Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas): $73.8 million. McCaul saw his net worth double last year, mostly owing to stocks held by his wife. McCaul's father-in-law founded the radio empire Clear Channel Communications. 6. Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.): $70.2 million. Warner made millions through investments in the cell phone industry, including the Nextel company. 7. Rep. Jared Polis (D-Colo.): $56.5 million. Bozell Column: Sleazy Songs of Summer

Ever wonder what those teenagers are listening to while wearing those iPod earphones? Maybe you’d rather not know. You will be horrified. The Culture and Media Institute recently reviewed the top pop songs from May through July. To say that hedonism is in the air is an understatement. Of the 22 songs on the charts, a whopping 64 percent made at least one reference to sex, drugs or alcohol, or contained profanity. All 22 songs had music videos, and 68 percent of them featured sexualized dancing, alcohol, violence, or partying scenes. The “anthem” of the summer seems to be the song “California Gurls” by Katy Perry, the ex-Christian singer who kick-started her career with the hit “I Kissed a Girl (And I Liked It)” in 2008. She’s so “mainstream” this year that she hosted the Teen Choice Awards on Fox. Her “Gurls” song is catchy and raunchy, starting with the boast that she and her girlfriends are so hot “we’ll melt your Popsicle.” That phrase is hot slang. Please imagine 7-year-old girls learning and reciting the lyrics to these songs — because they do. Perry sings about “Sex on the beach / We don’t mind sand in our stilettos / We freak in my Jeep” to Snoop Dogg, who also raps on the song. Snoop calls out the men to “kiss her, touch her, squeeze her buns.” The boys hang out to “all that ass hangin’ out,” watching the girls in “bikinis, tankinis, martinis, no weenies.” Shakespeare he is not. Romantic sonnets are not in season. Getting sex quickly seems to be the only aim. The hottest new star is named Ke$ha, and her song with pop band 3OH!3 (No, I don’t understand it either) is called “My First Kiss.” It sounds innocent, but innocence isn’t allowed. The lyrics include a request for sex: “Lips like licorice, tongue like candy / Excuse me, Miss, but can I get you out of your panties?” Another song, “In My Head,” is sung by Jason Derulo and features the lyrics “Instead of talking, let me demonstrate / Yeah / Get down to business, let’s skip foreplay.” Would you like more song sheets for the kiddies? Rihanna is another princess of pop. Her song challenges a boy to make a move: “Come here, rude boy, boy / Can you get it up? / Come here, rude boy, boy / Is you big enough?” She also promises to “give it to you harder” and “turn your body out.” The video matches the theme, with Rihanna holding one breast, putting her finger in her mouth and constantly rotating her hips as she asks her beau to “take it, take it, take it.” Is this woman a singer or a stripper? Just one version of this song’s video has 90 million plays on YouTube — just in case you’d think no one really pays attention to these things. Rihanna also sings in “Rude Boy” that she likes the way “you pull my hair.” The most controversial song of the summer is her duet with the rapper Eminem called “Love the Way You Lie.” In between Eminem’s rapping, Rihanna repeatedly sings, “Just gonna stand there and watch me burn / But that’s all right because I like the way it hurts / Just gonna stand there and hear me cry / But that’s all right because I love the way you lie.” There is no shame in this industry. Consider that Rihanna was physically abused by fellow pop star Chris Brown. So she milked the attack to pump up her star power. But what message do young people take from this? The Chicago Sun-Times reported the video (starring actors Dominic Monaghan and Megan Fox) shows “an ugly cycle of domestic abuse — graphically loving, fighting, drinking, shoplifting and ultimately burning down the house.” Burning down the house? That’s because Eminem raps, “I just want her back / I know I’m a liar / If she ever tries to f—ing leave again / I’ma tie her to the bed and set the house on fire.” Like most rappers making no attempt at anger management, Eminem loads his songs with profanity and dares the radio programmers to try and bleep them all out. On his first new single “Not Afraid,” Eminem used six F-bombs and three S-words in four minutes. That includes an “F-you for Christmas,” an “F the world” and an “F the universe.” That doesn’t include the bonus usages of countless other vulgarities. It’s clear that the major “music” companies, desperate to ring up sales as their market collapses due to technological change, are refusing to exercise any restraint of any kind on these “artists” they sell. It travels way beyond hipster rebellion into a dark, loveless, violent underworld.

Laurence Fishburne to Montana: I’m Done With You!

Montana Fishburne’s famous dad isn’t pleased with her career choice. Many fathers have been in that position, sure, but few quite like this. She recently released her adult film debut, despite Laurence Fishburne’s efforts to buy every last copy of the Chippy D sex tape before it hit the open market. He was too late, Montana Fishburne became an instant success in the industry and was offered a multi-film deal by Vivid, and Laurence is through with her. So says Montana herself. She called Laurence Monday for the first time since she unveiled her plan to enter the world of porn, and he was none too happy . Laurence and Montana Fishburne are officially estranged . Laurence told her she is “unwelcome in his life” and wants nothing to do with her, at least for now, after Chip joined the roster of Vivid Entertainment stars. Justin Bieber is a wanted young man – and we aren’t just referring to the singer’s popularity among teenage girls! The artist joined hip hop star Drake on stage this weekend in Indianapolis, rapping along to “Bet I Ever Had.” Said Drake to the sold-out crowd: “This kid is part of something special. You know we’re both from Canada… so you know I can’t forget ol’ J. Beezy. That’s my dawg.” As you might expect, those in attendance went crazy when this dawg was let out of his adorable cage. Check it out: Drake and Justin Elsewhere, the possible future Glee guest star is being recruited by an even bigger name in the industry: Kanye West. Just some of the “entertainment” that can be seen at circuses, zoos and safari parks in China, according to a report by Animals Asia into animals cruelty. The Hong Kong-based animal rights campaign group visited 13 safari parks and zoos in China and according to David Neale, Animals Asia's Animal Welfare Director, found that the animal shows “portray the animal to the public in a humiliating way” and have no educational value. “There is a misunderstanding really within China at the moment about what these animals are experiencing,” Neale told CNN. The report says that many of the performance animals that include tigers, lions, Asiatic black bears, elephants and monkeys are born and bred in captivity and brutalized throughout their lives. Video: Cruelty to performing animals “These animals have been suffering from birth, really. Once they're born they go into this industry. And straight away the trainers are starting to brutalize them to make them to do these tricks…. We saw some of the training of the younger animals; they were continually hit to make sure they learnt these tricks so that when they're out in the performance ring they perform them to the best standard.” “Once the trick is finished they then go to the backstage area where they're housed in the most shocking conditions. All kinds of animals are held in cages full of faeces, with very little access to water, very little access to food.” The abuse of performing animals isn't specific to China. “Animal cruelty is happening in every country across the world,” said Neale. However Neale points out that in China there are currently no animal protection laws, a reason why Animals Asia have worked with Chinese academics to draft legislation not just for animals in captivity, but all animals. Despite the findings of their investigation, Neale is encouraged by a few signs of progress by the Chinese government to take animal protection seriously. According to a government report on July 29 the Chinese State Forestry Administration accused companies that have animal performance shows of having excessive focus on profits, leading to the mistreatment and death of the animals. “We're very pleased that the Chinese government has said that they want the zoos and safari parks to look at the conditions they keep their animals in to rectify these problems,” said Neale. added by: EthicalVegan

BP Gulf Oil Spill Static Kill Has Failed – Well Now Harder To Seal

(Original post has great links) Oil Industry Expert Bob Cavnar has posted a series of blog posts over the last few days http://dailyhurricane.com/author/eljefebob/ that have escalated in charges that BP and the Federal Government BP and the Federal Government are deliberately providing the public with misinformation to cover up the fact that the static kill has backfired and made the BP Gulf Oil Spill well much harder to kill. In a few of those posts Bob Cavnar says BP needs to explain the huge clouds coming from the sea floor that I have pointed out here, here, here, here, and here. In his post BP: “Well is Static” US: “Oil is Gone” Nothing to See Here. Move Along he writes the following. At 1 am today, we got the “everything is fine” press release from BP proclaiming that the well, after the “textbook” static kill, is static. They studiously avoided the words “dead” or “killed”. Per usual, they also provided no further information. I was watching the feeds of the worsening leak coming from the lower flex joint flange at the moment I got the press release. Odd. If the well is static, then why is the wellhead leaking? Also, the leaking fluid is rising, indicating hydrocarbons, and continues even at this moment. This whole operation has given me the willies. … BP has violated this principle in spades by doing what they are doing. Now that they’ve proclaimed the well is “static”, they’ve also gone radio silent with no press conferences or technical McBriefings scheduled for today. Admiral Allen is doing a victory lap at this moment during the White House briefing, also not giving any data, besides just saying that it’s static with seawater. Again, if that was true, why is the wellhead leaking? To be clear, dead means dead. If it’s leaking oil, that means it’s not dead. … I’m sitting here watching oil leaking from a well that is supposedly dead. I’m listening to Admiral Allen saying the well is dead and to Jane Lubchenco and Carol Browner seriously contending that almost 4 million barrels of oil have disappeared. Is it just me, or are we watching the Matrix in real life? That post was followed up by Questions BP Needs to Answer in which he again alludes to the fact the BP and Government are not being transparent about the the success of the static kill and pointing out once again that oil is still leaking from the well and that there are the huge clouds coming from the sea floor. Since announcing success (sort of) of the static kill, MSM attention has dropped to virtually zero, though the well is obviously far from static, judging from the huge clouds in the water around the wellhead and manifold, as well as numerous ROVs surrounding the wellhead, providing no feeds to the public. The media has payed virtually no attention to these feeds and has asked no questions of Adm Allen or BP. BP has stopped briefing the public daily. The problem is that there are lots of questions that remain unanswered. Here’s what I want to know: * Is the well dead? * What is the pressure on the well? Now? * If the well is open to the surface, what is that pressure? * … * How do you know all the cement went down the casing? * … * Why is the flex joint flange leaking? * Why are the ROV feeds no longer provided in a decipherable resolution? * Why are some ROV feeds not being provided? * … * Why are clouds of debris continuing to obscure the view several days after the well was supposedly “static”? Until these questions are answered by BP, we have no real information to tell us that the well is dead, or even safe. As long as they continue to stonewall critical data, I’ll only continue to believe that the well is not “static” or safe. Not only are the ROV feeds high pixelated to the point the screens can not be read BP has still not shown the BOP where a methane leak was discovered just inches from the well head and BP is playing with the lighting to hide huge clouds shooting out of the sea floor and has even been caught applying filters in real time on the feeds to remove hydrates shooting out of the sea bed from the video feeds.
