Kareoke Trailer for Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Big Happy Family Totally Lives Up to the Poster

After getting over the initial shock of seeing the amazing/terrifying Black Swan parody poster for Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Big Happy Family , you may have found yourself asking: “How will the movie possibly live up to that ?” I still don’t have a good answer to that, but can happily report that the trailer is every bit as ridiculous as the poster. I’m talking about a full-on Kareoke sing-along to a Madea single (“MA to the DEA “) and enough split-screen to embarrass Brian de Palma.

‘They Just Made a Mistake’: Blue Valentine Director Derek Cianfrance on the MPAA

Parents around the nation breathed a sigh of relief last week when the MPAA overturned their initial NC-17 certification of Blue Valentine and replaced it with the more family-friendly R-rating. OK, maybe not. Though a great injustice was rectified, and just in time, too: The now-viable Blue Valentine has been picking up steady awards momentum from critics circles, and received two Golden Globe nominations earlier this morning for stars Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams. Does director Derek Cianfrance blame the MPAA for putting his nearly decade-in-the-making bit of awards-bait in peril?

Here’s Your First Look at Carey Mulligan Playing Daisy Buchanan in Baz Luhrmann’s Great Gatsby

Looks like the rumors were true: Baz Luhrmann has selected Carey Mulligan for the part of Daisy Buchanan in his adaptation of The Great Gatsby . First Spiderman goes British with Andrew Garfield, and now the lead female in one of the greatest modern American novels follows suit. Get it together, America! Along with the announcement, Luhrmann included a picture of Mulligan from rehearsals that gives a taste of what may come. She certainly looks alluring and a bit ethereal here, but what do you think? Is she beautiful enough to completely wreck Leonardo DiCaprio, who is playing Gatsby? Does she trump everyone on the initial not-at-all-short list for the part?

The Latest Megamind Trailer Showcases the Comedy Stylings of Brad Pitt

If you wrote off Dreamworks Animation’s Megamind as a retread of The Incredibles , the latest trailer for the film probably won’t to anything to change your initial opinion. All this thing needs is that rousing Michael Giacchino score and Samuel L. Jackson and it could basically call itself an unofficial sequel to the Oscar-winning Pixar film. So what could potentially separate Megamind from the DVD copy of The Incredibles sitting on your bookcase? Brad Pitt.

Jeffrey Jones Arrested on Sex Offender Charge

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off feels a lot less funny all of a sudden. Jeffrey Jones, the actor best known for playing Principal Ed Rooney in that classic comedy, was arrested last week on a felony charge after he failed to update his registration as a sex offender. Yes, the man that tried to chase down Matthew Broderick’s character in that 1986 movie pleaded no contest to having a 14-year old boy pose seductively for him in 2003. As a result, he was forced to register, visit a counselor and complete five years’ probation. On June 23, Jones was apprehended after he did not renew his California registration within the five days of his previous birthday. It’s the second time the troubled actor has faced an arrest after his initial charges. He failed to inform authorities of a move in 2004. Can we put this guy behind bars now please?!?

Coldplay Acquiesces, Allows Glee to Use Its Songs

In what has to be one of the most predictable “just kidding!” moments of 2010, Chris Martin and his Coldplay bandmates have gone back on their initial rejection of Glee . The band was one of two major holdouts — the other being, hilariously, Bryan Adams — that refused to have their catalog performed by New Directions when the series began last year. But according to creator Ryan Murphy, they called him recently and apologized: “We’re sorry, you can have our catalog,” said the band through gritted teeth. Have you always wanted to hear Lea Michele and Cory Monteith sing ” Fix You “? Yeah, me too. What, you thought that was sarcasm? Lights will guide you home… [ Yahoo! ]
