The Originals Season 2 Episode 4 Recap: The Worst is Yet to Come

Neither of the Mikaelson brothers were left in a very good place to conclude The Originals Season 2 Episode 4 . Let’s start with Klaus: after eavesdropping on her phone call with Davina, he determined that Mikael had been taken to her family’s cabin for protection. So he went up there with Cami, the latter stopping for the two to bonds over some drinks first. Watch The Originals Season 2 Episode 4 Online And while it seemed like Cami was making progress in getting through to Klaus, explaining how he ought to appreciate the small things in life and how revenge won’t make him happy, Klaus ended up ditching her on the dance floor. He ran to the cabin and called out Mikael, who showed up after Kaleb (who was on hand to help Davina with a broken ankle) freed up from Davina’s spell. The fight was on! At one point, Mikael did stab his non-son with the white oak stake, but he missed the heart. Klaus retaliated by sticking Papa Tunda’s painful weapon into his non-father’s stomach. It made a home there and caused non-stop pain for Mikael. But Klaus did not kill him. He placed Mikael in a car’s trunk and drove away toward the end of the episode. Viewers, however, saw Mikael awaken, reach in and pull the weapon out. Elijah, meanwhile, agreed to help Hayley and a werewolf named Aiden. The latter had been charged by Vincent to help turn a number of children, who possessed the werewolf gene, into werewolves. This meant they had to kill at least one human. But Aiden didn’t like the idea, mainly because one of the kids was his little brother. So Elijah (and Marcel and Oliver and Josh) teamed up to combine forces and they were successful in leading the kids to safety. However, Vincent eventually caught up to Elijah and captured him along with Esther. He was left chained up when the episode faded to black, his mother saying she wanted the family to be back together, but only once Elijah and his siblings have been purified. ELSEWHERE: Gia is coming into her own as a character. Elijah taught her how to rip someone’s heart out this week. Vincent is still acting as Cami’s psychology professor person. Josh and Aiden are sort of hot for each other. They had been flirting on some dating app and then met at a bar after all the crazy werewolf/vampire action went down. What did everyone else think of this installment? The introduction of Aiden? The capturing of Elijah? New Girl Season 4 Episode 5 Recap: Land Line Problems

On New Girl Season 4 Episode 5, the gang decides they need a landline phone after years of frustration at the crappy reception their cells all get in the loft. Yes, this is one of the primary plot lines of an episode. Also, Jess discovers on New Girl Season 4 Episode 5 that Coach has been sleeping with a teacher at school. And another teacher at school. Oh yes. Watch New Girl Season 4 Episode 5 Online Much of the media buildup to this installment centered around Julian Morris as Jess’ new love interest, but this was practically an afterthought last night. Not because of anything he did wrong – he Goes In Ya just fine – but because the rest of the gang’s antics were that much funnier from beginning to end. When you watch New Girl online today, it’s hard to even guess what line you’ll be quoting afterward. There are so many options from each of the characters. The phone that could’ve been a lame gimmick turned out to be anything but. After some initial trepidation it really struck a cord (pun intended) with Nick. Feeling cut off from his more successful friends, Nick really enjoyed taking messages for them, while it reminded Winston that he used to be the man on the phone. At school, Jess learns that Coach is sleeping with the school nurse (who he won’t admit he’s dating), and a teacher who admits to doing the same with him. Just as “Dog” is berating them, her principal brings in new teacher Ryan and she is clearly smitten … as she holds a meeting about sex and co-workers. Sensing her attraction to Ryan and out to seek revenge for this public spectacle, Coach asks for a visual lesson, asking Jess to demonstrate for him. As a result of what kind of situation is she saying they should yell SHUT IT DOWN while making a wild, arm-swinging hand gesture? Coach must know. One touch from Ryan and Jess is practically moaning in front of the faculty, which isn’t the worst thing for every guy watching who crushes on Zooey. The comedy then returns as she karate chops him to the crotch a couple of times. Shutting it down? This episode was, even if not every gag was perfect. The landline phone, while this was going on, was complimented by another piece of technology from 1993: The answering machine, Nick’s replacement. When the machine breaks, Nick is quite happy, even withholding information from Schmidt about his important Business, Man interview to make a point. Realizing the error of his ways, Nick has Winston save the day by pretending to be Schmidt on the phone, relishing in his ’90s land line glory and scoring big. At school, Jess apologizes to Coach, who resumes banging the nurse, while the principal says as an administrator, she still can’t date other co-workers. Somehow we doubt we’ve seen the last of Ryan, though …

Supernatural Season 10 Episode 2 Recap: Return to the Impala

We kicked off Supernatural Season 10 Episode 2 by going back June 21, 2003, where a 13-year-old Cole wakes up to find that his dad has been killed by Dean. We know, of course, that the man was possessed because Dean is gripping his demon-killing knife, but someone try telling that to Cole. He has spent his entire life readying for his revenge. And step one of that Emily Thorne-esque plan involves beating up Sam for intel. Watch Supernatural Season 10 Episode 2 Online However, Cole then receives a family phone call and Sam uses the opening to grab the first old truck he can find, calling Castiel for help. After learning Dean is a demon, Castiel agrees to meet up with Sam to find his brother – but he gets a tad sidetracked when he falls asleep behind the wheel, causing him and Hannah to hang out at a mechanic’s house while the car is fixed. Remember the days when Cas could have just zapped himself away somewhere? It’s then back on the road for Cas and Hannh… except he falls asleep again. So Hannah takes the sandbox to heaven to ask a favor of Metatron. Will he hand over some of Castiel’s grace for his freedom? No, Castiel interrupts and says he won’t allow Metatron to escape. (NOTE: The latter goes on to to refer to Castiel here as “ASStiel,” hehe.) Dean, meanwhile, gets angry when a strip club tells him he can’t touch the naked workers. He goes outside and there’s Crowley, who goes for a drink with his protege. He tells Dean he must kill or he’ll snap, so Dean agrees to murder a cheating wife… only for the husband to get home and refer to Dean as a “freak” and bite it himself instead. Crowley is now angry over being cost a soul. Crowley dumps Dean off on Sam after the two fight about whether Dean is on Team Human or Team Demon, with Sam finding Dean playing piano at a bar. Although Dean says he doesn’t want to be cured, Sam tell him that it’s time to go home. But then Cole shows up and knocks Sam out, finally coming to face off with his nemesis. Seeing Cole kill himself to attempt and get to Dean – with Dean not  taking him seriously at all – was the best moment of the hour. Heck, Dean even makes a Princess Bride reference. However, Dean doesn’t kill Cole. In letting him go, he provides Sam with enough time to grab some holy water and handcuffs and secure Dean in the backseat of the Impala. From there, Sam goes to meet Crowley and hands over the First Blade, which Crowley claims he wants for safety. In the car ride home, Sam says letting Cole survive was proof of Dean’s humanity. But Dean counters that allowing Cole to live with his loss after a lifetime of preparation was a fate worse than death. And then Dean threatens Sam while calling him “Sammy.” Darn. These two still have a long way to go. What did you think of the installment? The Vampire Diaries Season 6 Episode 2 Recap: When Are They?

Say this about the year 1994: it featured some winning music! I note this, of course, because The Vampire Diaries Season 6 Episode 2 answered the question this week of where Bonnie and Damon are located, only it turned the inquiry on its head a bit and instead revealed WHEN they are: The aforementioned year. 1994. Damon and Bonnie are repeating May 10, 1994 in an empty Mystic Falls for some reason, with Damon spending the day drinking and making pancakes and Bonnie trying to re-find her magic in order to get them back home to present day. Except, as we learned in the closing scene when Bonnie’s missing crossword puzzle got filled in by neither Bonnie nor Damon… they aren’t actually alone after all. Someone else is somehow there. Elsewhere on a strong installment of The Vampire Diaries Season 6 : Elena finally admitted to herself that she fell in love with Damon while she was with Stefan, enabling Alaric to successful access that memory, erase it and set off a domino chain of events within Elena’s head that made her forget she ever loved Damon. Jeremy and Matt learned that Sarah, the girl who Elena fed off last week, stole a car from her old boss and is in town… for some reason. But Jeremy is still taken and went to crash with her at the Salvatore mansion. Tripp told Matt that he was a descendent of the Founding Fell Family (meaning he’d be related to Meredith somehow) But Matt appeared to have some doubts. We later saw Tripp drive some vampires INTO Mystic Falls and unleash sunlight on them, killing them all. Caroline and Enzo found Stefan in Savannah. He broke Caroline’s heart by basically saying he had to move on by completely ignoring her and his past in Mystic Falls. And then Enzo broke Ivy’s neck to get back at Stefan for having given up on his Damon search. Overall, it was a solid episode that focused more on character development than heavy plot movement. But producers have said that’s the goal early in Season 6 because they acknowledge the mythology has grown too complicated and dense. What did everyone else think of this installment? Are you dreading the day that Damon returns, Elena doesn’t know who he is and then we go through a whole amnesia-type deal? Yeah, so are we. Gotham Season 2 Episode 2 Recap: The Kids Are Not Alright

We met the mother on  Gotham Season 2 Episode 2 . Veteran actress Carol Kane stopped by the new Fox hit as the mother of The Penguin Oswald Cobblepot, making the character every bit as eccentric as one would expect from the woman who brought this young villain into the world. We also watched as Cobblepot hitched a ride into the country with a couple unfortunate teenagers who made the mistake of referring to him by a certain nickname, but make no mistake: he isn’t running away from Gotham. He’s settling into a trailer (for $100 per month) and plotting his return and his revenge against all who have wronged him. And that’s a very long list. But the crux of this installment was on a different villain-to-be, as Selina Kyle and the kids of Gotham took center stage. Mostly ignored by the adults in this decaying city, many homeless youth are being snatched up by those involved in some kind of child-trafficking plot, as they pack up the kidnapped children and ship them off to… who knows where?!? Who wants to know where, really. Kyle exerts her independence and her maturity throughout the episode, as Gordon and Bullock eventually track down the culprits (after literally coming to blows inside the police station) and the Mayor shows some dark colors of his own. In order to clean up the streets, he orders the kids to be sent upstate to juvenile detention. Gordon confronts him about this decision, but he gets nowhere. To close the episode, however, Kyle gets somewhere with Gordon: she beckons him over and asks for a deal. Will he help her NOT be sent upstate in exchange for the information she can provide? That information? Selina says she witnessed the murders of the Wayne parents and can pick out the shooter. The episode cut to black on that statement, but also worth noting is an earlier scene between Fish Mooney and Carmine Falcone. The latter clearly is hip to the former’s plan to try and take him down, beating up Mooney’s lover as a way of proving his dominance. We later see Fish complaining to Butch, still intent on rising to the top rank at some point. She wants to kill Falcone with her bare bands. Isn’t it always fun when the bad guys themselves don’t get along? It adds some layers and some shades of grey to the overall product. What did everyone else think of this follow-up episode? The Mindy Project Season 3 Episode 2 Recap: Is Annette Castellano Mindy’s New Nemesis?

On The Mindy Project Season 3 Episode 2, Danny’s mother made an appearance in New York, and she didn’t exactly start off on the wrong foot with Mindy, but … She thought Mindy was Danny’s cleaning woman, a fact that he realized but kept to himself and didn’t correct her, then only informed Mindy of after she left. Vintage Danny Castellano right there. Watch The Mindy Project Season 3 Episode 2 Online While the season premiere established that they aren’t just a flash in the romantic pan, The Mindy Project Season 3 Episode 2 threw the duo a new obstacle. Danny’s mother doesn’t like any girlfriends, he says, hence the hesitation for introducing her as such. Mindy is not happy about this, but she’s also resolute: She’ll win Annette Castellano’s approval, and she’ll do it her way! Mindy has a foolproof plan that she uses to get all moms to like her, which you’d have to be a fool to believe were actually true, but that’s our girl for you. After Danny formally introduces Mindy to Annette, played by the amazing Cheers veteran Rhea Perlman, the stage is set for an epic family brunch. When Mindy shows up to meet Danny, his brother, and her friend, Annette is not having any of Mindy’s efforts, and makes it pretty clear she’s not a fan. She stands up for Danny, though, after Annette doesn’t like Danny’s birthday gift, which was pretty tight – a new oven – and that breaks the ice at least. Mindy and Annette have a heart to heart about Danny, at which point she wins over her maybe someday mother-in-law, who also apologizes to Danny. As for that new oven? They use it to enjoy a nice meal together. Meanwhile, when the always-helpful Peter offers romantic advice, you know the B-story is a winner, and this rule was certainly true last night’s case. Morgan, who’s having some issues with Tamra, laments the fact that he must get rid of his 40 (yes, forty) dogs because of Tamra’s allergy issues. Peter isn’t buying this, and holds a dog fair in at the practice to do some clandestine investigating and out Tamra for lying … which blew up in his face. Or more specifically hers, which had a dog shoved in it. Tamra, of course, actually is allergic to Morgan’s furry brood and had to go to the ER after this. Good thing there were doctors on hand, at least? Maybe?
