Prince William Gives Rare Interview, Opens Up About Mother’s Death

We’re approaching the 20th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death. On August 31, 1997, the beloved Royal icon was killed in a car accident after a high-speed chase with a paparazzo who was in full pursuit. It was a true tragedy, one that caused the world to stop, collectively mourn and react in sheer shock and sadness. Diana, of course, left behind two sons, both of whom have grown into widely-respected, very handsome and charitable adults. But neither has spoken out very much about the most painful experience of their lives; both Prince Harry and Prince William have remained relatively quiet about the fatal incident. Until now. Giving an unusually rare and raw interview with British GQ, the Duke of Cambridge is featured in a lengthy cover story this month. He sits down with Alastair Campbell for the July issue of the magazine and talks openly about this impending anniversary… what it’s been like without his mother today for himself and his loved ones… and how he’s managed his grief in the public eye. “I am in a better place about it than I have been for a long time,” Prince William tells the publication of the horrible accident. He goes on to explain that he is now capable of talking “about her more openly [and] more honestly and I can remember her better, and publicly talk about her better.” The father of two (a three-year old named Charlotte and a two-year old named George), William adds: “It has taken me almost twenty years to get to that stage. I still find it difficult now because at the time it was so raw.” The hardest part, explains the Prince, is the fact that his mother has never met his wife or his children. “I would like to have had her advice,” he says, adding painfully. “I would love her to have met Catherine and to have seen the children grow up. It makes me sad that she won’t, that they will never know her.” The 34-year-old – who took time to honor the Manchester bombing victims last week – went on to note that unlike some people, his grief almost seem magnified due to the public nature of his unique position in British society. “It is not like most people’s grief, because everyone else knows about it, everyone knows the story, everyone knows her. “It is a different situation for most people who lose someone they love, it can be hidden away or they can choose if they want to share their story.” But William has clearly grown into a responsible, intelligent, benevolent adult. He’s a husband and a father and, by all accounts, a very good man. “I could not do my job without the stability of the family. Stability at home is so important to me,” he says. “I want to bring up my children in a happy, stable, secure world and that is so important to both of us as parents. I want George to grow up in a real, living environment, I don’t want him growing up behind palace walls, he has to be out there. “The media make it harder but I will fight for them to have a normal life.” View Slideshow: 15 Things You May Have Missed From Prince William & Kate Middleton’s Royal Wedding This issue of British GQ goes on sale on Thursday, June 1. It’s an intimate portrait of William’s life, one that gives readers a glimpse into his typically private world. We strongly recommend you pick up a copy.

Race Matters: Peep The Differences In How White And Black People Talk About “White Privilege” [VIDEO]

Does This Video About White Privilege Surprise You? White Privilege is finally becoming something that many white people are aware of and conscious about — at least in this video, filmed by conservative filmmaker Ami Horowitz BUT we think the tactics used here are pretty skewed. For example, interviewing white people outside of a white privilege conference will obviously yield much different results than interviewing a wider range of white folks — especially in less of an academic setting. We’re also perturbed by Horowitz’s decision to question blacks in Harlem outside of a housing project. Why not try an HBCU instead? The other thing that stood out to us is that the white people were asked a different set of questions than the black interviewees. Why would black people be consumed with white privilege? Just sayin’… What are your thoughts about the interview? Getty Images

Jennifer Lopez: Check Out My Man Crush!

Jennifer Lopez may star in the NBC drama Shades of Blue, but she wants to make sure there are no shades of grey when it comes to her latest romance. Yes, she is dating Alex Rodriguez.  And, yes, it is pretty darn serious. The former Major League Baseball player and the current Majorly Hot Piece of Ass have been dating for a few months now, going public with their relationship very early on. The stars attended the MET Gala in New York City back on May 1 and Lopez even accompanied Rodriguez to Florida to spend time with the Yankees during spring training in March. On Monday night, however, J. Lo made one of her strongest statements to date regarding A. Rod. She shared the photo above on her Instagram account, included with it a heart emoji, a single word and a single acronym. “My #MCM,” wrote the singer as a caption. That would be Man Crush Monday , for all those readers not well versed in Internet Speak. Last Friday, meanwhile, Rodriguez posted a different sort of photo on his Instagram page, bragging that he visited Lopez on the set of Shades of Blue and making it clear that he’s smitten as well. “In the Heights #shades #midnight #harlee #mygirl,” wrote A. Rod, using the name of Lopez’s character as a hashtag Appearing on The View in late March, Rodriguez spoke openly for the first time about his very attractive new girlfriend. “We’ve been having a great time. She’s an amazing, amazing girl,” the ex-slugger told the hosts, adding that Lopez is “one of the smartest human beings I’ve ever met and also an incredible mother.” Rodriguez also confirmed at the time that Lopez really is just a regular woman. One might even label her as Jenny from the Block. “She just likes simple things,” he said in this interview. “I mean, she’s a very, very simple person. Loves family. Is a great sister. Is a great daughter.” Throughout his playing career, A. Rod often came across as a personality-free tool. But he’s slept with Kate Hudson. And Torrie Wilson. And Cameron Diaz. And now Lopez. Maybe he just has a big penis? It’s hard to say. However, an insider tells Us Weekly that they definitely have big plans in life. Together. “They’ve been talking about the future and, of course marriage has come up,” a source told the tabloid. “They aren’t making wedding plans, but they have been talking about their lives.” Adds this insider: “She hasn’t felt this way about anyone in a long time.” We really can’t believe Rodriguez gets to see Lopez naked any time he wants. But at least A. Rod and J. Lo provide us with one of the best couples nicknames in Hollywood history Is it THE best, though? Click around below and decide now! Katy Perry: Did She Just Admit Her New Song is About Taylor Swift?!

Katy Perry shocked and delighted us all when she released “Swish Swish,” a fun little song with Nicki Minaj. The song itself is OK, but the real joy comes from the lyrics, which really and truly seem to be about Taylor Swift . The legendary Katy vs. Taylor feud has been going on for years now, all because Taylor thought Katy betrayed her by stealing some backup dancers. Taylor's made several passive aggressive statements about Katy, and she even released a song about her, the super catchy but super petty “Bad Blood.” And now, two years lately, it seems like Katy's responded with “Swish Swish.” You can listen to the song, take in the lyrics and make your own decision about what it's possibly about, but Katy made an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon last night, and she was directly asked about the rumor. “'Swish Swish,'” Jimmy began, “is that about anyone we know?” Katy took a moment to gather her thoughts, then responded with “I think it's a great anthem for people to use whenever someone's trying to hold you down or bully you.” Which, it seems, is a good, neutral answer that works better than something like “Yeah, this song is about Taylor Swift, that bitch.” Of course she can't come right out and directly diss Taylor like that, but notice that she definitely doesn't deny that ti's about her. Watch Katy throw her best subtle shade in the interview below:

Scotty Ayre: Leah Messer’s Secret Boyfriend Revealed?!

If you watch Teen Mom 2 online , you know that Leah Messer has been involved in several tumultuous relationships during her time on the show. Some have been high-profile, such as Messer’s two failed marriages . While others have been considerably more low-key, such as Leah’s relationship with T.R. Dues . Now, we’re learning that Dues wasn’t Messer’s only secret boyfriend, and that she kept one relationship so thoroughly on the down-low that even the most gossip-starved TM2 obsessives had no idea she was seeing anyone. An aspiring model named Scotty Ayres has revealed to Radar Online that he and Leah dated for several weeks during the summer of 2016. “We were a ‘thing’ but she didn’t know what she wanted so we just fell out,” Ayres tells Radar. “ He adds, “It was a train wreck dating her” … but then he doesn’t really go into much detail. In fact, despite considerable evidence to the contrary, Ayres denies that Messer was addicted to prescription drugs at one point. “She didn’t take nothing that she wasn’t prescribed,” he claims. “She’s not a druggie at all! She’s a good-hearted girl.” Of course, just because she wasn’t using during the short period of time that she dated Ayres, that doesn’t mean Messer never struggled with addiction. But despite his claim that their relationship was a “trainwreck,” Ayres has nothing negative to say about Messer’s behavior. However, the reason for that might be that he’s holding out hope that they’ll eventually get back together. “I wish she would give me another chance, but I have to let her come to me,” he said. “I can’t chase her.” Gotta love a guy who will talking to the press about your relationship and act like he’s giving you your space at the same time. Ayres concluded by offering some douchey words of advice to someone he may or may not have hooked up with almost a year ago: “She needs to focus on herself first before she needs a man,” he said. Deep, man. Deep Watch Teen Mom 2 online to marvel at Leah’s tremendous talent for attracting D-bags. View Slideshow: Leah Messer’s Messed-Up Love Life: The Ultimate Timeline!

Love & Hip: Atlanta Season 6 Episode 10 Recap: A DNA Test Type Of Party!

Stevie is a father for, like, the 100th time, so he realized he needed to make some changes to his life.  That was not the only big development on Love & Hip Hop Season 6 Episode 10 , with Momma Dee and Shirleen joining forces to find out what the heck Kirk Frost was getting up to in his private time. Watch Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta Season 6 Episode 10 Online When the episode got underway, Stevie was preparing to have Bonnie Bella at his house for the first time. His two daughters were ecstatic to meet her, but they were probably a little apprehensive because how many siblings they have out there.  The daughters quizzed Stevie about whether a romance was on the horizon for him and Joseline, but he had no idea what the future held for him.  As you probably know if you watched Leave It To Stevie online, Savannah was not impressed with Joseline for all of the crap she spouting on social media about her family.  “I don’t mind her being my sister, but I don’t want the mother around until she apologizes to all of the girls for all of the stuff she said on social media.” While that was going down, Joc turned his attention to Treasure for opening up about his business with Tommie and Karlie.  “I know that someone has been spreading my business all over the streets and I wonder who it was.” Treasure tells him “I felt like I had to tell Sina about you and Tommie because she is my friend and you claim to love her.” Joc tells Treasure “You have no right to get in my business and I can’t mix business with pleasure, so you have to go.” If that was not bad enough, Joc fired Treasure on the spot.  We then switched gears to Joc, Scrappy and Stevie who were listening to some new music being recorded by someone named Gunplay.  Stevie was congratulated by all of the men for becoming a father, again.  When Joc opened up about all the female drama in his life, Stevie wanted to know whether Tommie was going to get hurt in the crossfire.  Stevie asks “Are you smashing Tommie?” Joc says “Nope. She was using me to get back at Karlie.” Scrappy then started thinking about the future, while confirming his wedding was off. He also wanted to celebrate the momentous occasion.  Scrappy says “I want to throw a bachelor bash.” Stevie says “I have a Panamanian Goddess that I’ll bring through.” Um, alright then.  Scrappy then met up with Momma Dee to let her know about the wedding.  She asks him “What’s going on with you and the Bam?” Scrappy says “Nothing. It’s over I am having a bachelor bash to get all my feelings out of me because I am moving on to Miami.” Momma Dee was less than impressed but knew she would be fighting a losing battle if she commented on it. Momma Dee then asked about the situation with Kirk and Rasheeda.  “Rasheeda is heartbroken, and Kirk is laughing and talking about how he won’t take a DNA test.” Momma Dee says “Oh yes he will. I need to go talk to Shirleen and see what we can do about this.” Scrappy says “I would love to ask you not to do that.” Oh, the drama.  View Slideshow: 15 AMAZING Moments from Love & Hip Hop Momma Dee met up with Shirleen to compare notes on the situation between Kirk and Rasheeda.  “Kirk was trying to put the blame in the marriage on Rasheeda by saying that she wasn’t having sex with him and that if she didn’t want to share him, she needed to give it up,” Momma Dee begun. Shirleen says “That’s a bunch of bull.” Momma Dee also tells her “Kirk feels like he is being nailed to the cross like Jesus.” Shirleen laughs and says “Good because that’s what he needs!” At Scrappy’s party, Tammy appeared and turned on him.  “My girl Bam isn’t here. What happened with the wedding?” Scrappy tells her “She got up and said There ain’t no wedding and that was all.” Treasure hunted down Joc at the party and managed to turn it around and got her job back.  Shirleen then shocked the whole room with DNA tests to confirm the truth about what is going in with Kirk and his baby. Everyone looks around them, shocked at the very scene in front of them.  View Slideshow: Love & Hip Hop Cast Rankings: Who Can Actually Sing?

Katy Perry: Will She Trash Taylor Swift on New Album?

It seems like just yesterday Katy Perry released her fourth studio album, Prism.  That album was released in 2013, and we’re feeling a little old. Naturally, fans have been questioning when the 32-year-old will drop her fifth album. Perry opened up to Entertainment Weekly about her break from the music industry, new album details and an update on whether she will be firing a song back at Taylor Swift after “Bad Blood.” In the interview, Katy confirmed that she did, indeed, take a break from the limelight after her grueling Prismatic World Tour. She hit up Santa Barbara, California for some respite.  “ The energy is just totally different — it’s not thirsty or desperate or clingy,” Perry tells EW. “It’s a really beautiful kind of Zen-like feeling place. I just went there to gather myself, and I started making a record in June of last year.” Being in the public eye must be a tough experience when you’re promoting an album, attending public appearances and embarking on a world tour, but at least Perry admits to taking breaks.  There are some stars out there that just don’t stop, and it likely ruins the fun of being one of the most popular singers on the planet.  Perry confirmed that she wrote 40 songs for her new album, but had to whittle that down to 15 to have the album made. The star never let the publication in on the big secret about the title of her latest album.  Instead, she detailed the sound of it.  “It’s really quite brave,” Perry continued. “Sonically, it’s fun and dance-y and dark and light. It’s all of these things. It definitely is a change.” Katie also admitted that her latest effort will chart her move into her 30s.  “I left my 20s, and I’ve gone to my 30s,” she says. “I’ve embraced. I’ve surrendered. I’ve healed some of my issues with my family, with my relationships. Today I’m sober, but I don’t know about tomorrow! One day at a time, right? [Laughs] It’s all kind of beautiful. I built up Katy Perry, and she was so fun. And I still am Katy Perry, and I love her so much but, at the core, I’m Katheryn Hudson, and I think that’s being revealed as I embrace who I really am.” On new song titles, Perry confirmed two, with “Bigger Than Me” and “Swish Swish” will be released later this year with the album.  Another pressing topic discussed was whether Katy planned to target Taylor Swift for allegedly making “Bad Blood” about her and if the song was actually about Perry in the first place.  Her response is pretty eye-opening.  “Well, that’s not my question to answer — if it’s about me. I think [my new album is] a very empowered record. There is no one thing that’s calling out any one person. One thing to note is: You can’t mistake kindness for weakness and don’t come for me. Anyone. Anyone. Anyone. Anyone. And that’s not to any one person and don’t quote me that it is, because it’s not. It’s not about that.” “Honestly, when women come together and they decide to unite, this world is going to be a better place. Period end of story. But, let me say this: Everything has a reaction or a consequence so don’t forget about that, okay, honey. [Laughs]. “We got to keep it real, honey. This record is not about anyone else!” “This record is about me being seen and heard so that I can see and hear everyone else! It’s not even about me! It’s about everything that I see out there that I digest. I think there’s a healing in it for me and vulnerability. If people want to connect and be healed and feel vulnerable and feel empowered and strong, God bless and here it is.” It sure sounds like Katy is playing coy about the whole thing. Maybe she and Taylor are actually friends and are sitting giggling like school girls over some wine at the fact that the internet thinks they’re against each other.  What do you think about all of this? Sound off below! View Slideshow: Taylor Swift Breakup Songs: Who Has She Targeted?
