Demi Moore Says Ashley Greene Is ‘Saucy’ In ‘LOL’

Moore also tells MTV News that the teen comedy’s ongoing release delays have been ‘a tough thing.’ By Kara Warner, with reporting by Eric Ditzian Ashley Greene Photo: Jason Merritt/ Getty Images Although it’s been awhile since we’ve had any updates about a release date for Miley Cyrus and Ashley Greene’s delayed teen comedy “LOL,” anticipation continues to build for the film, which will mark a departure for former Disney star Cyrus and Greene, who is best for her role as sweet-natured psychic Alice Cullen in the “Twilight Saga” series. But when MTV News recently caught up with Demi Moore, who plays Cyrus’ mom in the film, we got some scoop about her experience with the singer/actress, as well as some dish on what we can expect from Greene’s performance. “[Cyrus] is great, she did great,” Moore said during a promotional run for her upcoming financial thriller “Margin Call.” “I really loved the movie; I loved working with her and the director. They just put it on pause because they had another film they were focusing on. It’s a tough thing when you have a movie you’re looking forward to coming out,” she added of waiting on the film’s release date. With regard to Greene’s performance, Moore teased that moviegoers can expect to see a very different side of the “Breaking Dawn” star. “She’s saucy, she’s really saucy,” Moore said with a smile, which prompted her “Margin Call” co-star Simon Baker to chime in. “I love it when you say that,” Baker said. “Is she sassy too?” “Sassy and saucy,” Moore promised. “LOL” is based on the successful 2008 French film “Laughing Out Loud.” The American version is a coming-of-age story about a group of young people — led by Cyrus’ wild-child character Lola — trying to navigate high school peer pressure and romance in a tech-savvy era. The cast also includes Thomas Jane (“Hung”), Gina Gershon (“Rescue Me”), Jay Hernandez (“Takers”) and Austin Nichols (“One Tree Hill”). French DJ, who just dropped Nothing but the Beat, is the ‘happiest person you’ll ever meet,’ SkyBlu tells MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena LMFAO at the 2011 VMAs Photo: Jason Merritt/ Getty Images LOS ANGELES — David Guetta’s just-dropped new album, Nothing but the Beat, features a handful of A-list contributors, including Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg, will.i.am, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, Akon and Usher. It’s Guetta’s latest entry into the world of mainstream music, and it seems that everyone in pop is scrambling to work with him. When MTV News caught up with dance duo LMFAO, who worked with the French house-music DJ on the 2010 track “Gettin’ Over You” (also featuring Fergie and Chris Willis), they revealed the real reason why everyone in the business wants to hop in the studio with Guetta. “Well, he is a party starter; great DJ, great personality,” RedFoo told MTV News last week before the 2011 Video Music Awards . “He shares his software with you. [He’s like] ‘Here’s the whole bundle, enjoy.’ I don’t think we’re supposed to talk about that … but he would.” RedFoo’s party partner, SkyBlu, said Guetta is such a pleasure to work with because he’s an easygoing guy. “[He’s the] happiest person you’ve ever met. He’ll put a smile on your face no matter how bad your day’s going. [If] you’re gonna hang out with David, you’re gonna have a smile on your face.” While they didn’t share whether they had any plans to work with Guetta again, the guys did reveal that they shot the video for their next single, “Sexy and I Know It,” in L.A. earlier this week. Justin Bieber and girlfriend Selena Gomez had the ultimate date night, and the entire world was watching. It all kicked off when the black carpet VMA Pre-Show started on Sunday; the couple’s adorableness would have viewers “awww”-ing throughout the night. Gomez, who was doing a stint as the pre-show co-host, spoke to a number of celebrities, including Britney Spears and bestie Demi Lovato, but things really got interesting when the Biebs showed up. Bieber — wearing glasses, red pants, leopard-print kicks and a tuxedo jacket — stopped to chat with Gomez, who was decked out in a lacey black mini-dress. “I have a snake. I have red pants and cheetah shoes. My snake’s name is Johnson,” he said when Gomez asked about his outfit. The singer/actress continued to press him in the most professional way about his Best Male Video nod, and Bieber played it cool standing next to his girl. “I’m just excited to be in the category with such amazing people,” he told her. Joe Jonas Wants To Hit The Road With Chris Brown

‘We liked working together, so I can see it working,’ Joe tells MTV News of his ‘See No More’ partner. By Jocelyn Vena Joe Jonas Photo: Jason Merritt/ Getty Images Joe Jonas was once a curly-haired kid from New Jersey who sang bubblegum pop/rock songs about puppy love with his brothers. Well, he’s grown up a lot since then. He chopped off his hair and, on his first-ever solo album , Fast Life, he’s opening up about falling in and out of love. And in August, the middle JoBro turns a very grown-up 22. So, what does he have planned for the big day? “I don’t have any birthday plans yet, actually,” he told MTV News recently. “I don’t even know where we’re going to be because we’re trying to figure out a touring situation right now and it either looks like I’m going on my tour, my own tour, or opening up for somebody, supporting somebody on tour.” While his plans are still to be determined, he was sure of one thing: “Wherever I am, there will be a party and it will be fun.” Speaking of tours, Joe was once rumored to be hitting the road with Britney Spears on her now all-female Femme Fatale trek . Those plans didn’t pan out, of course, and now he’s looking to hook up with someone else on the road. Joe even shared his dream tourmate with us. “My dream list, wow … I mean, doing a tour with Chris would be cool,” he said of Chris Brown, who helped the singer pen his first single, “See No More.” “I feel like, musically, we both have the same sounds and we liked working together, so I can see it working.” Joe’s album drops in September , and he told us that he’s not holding back on it. “It was scary in the beginning,” he said of doing a solo LP, “just because I knew this is my one opportunity to show people my journal: the good and bad of every relationship I’ve been in, you know, [and] what I look for [in relationships],” he explained. Nicki Minaj’s ‘We Miss You’ Eerily Mirrors Cousin’s Death

But rapper reveals on Twitter that leaked song was recorded last year. By Jocelyn Vena Nikki Minaj Photo: Jason Merritt/ Getty Images Just days after Nicki Minaj’s cousin was killed , a Nicki track called “We Miss You” leaked online with lyrics that address the murder of someone close to her. As the rapper noted online shortly after the song hit the Web, however, “We Miss You” was recorded nearly 12 months earlier. “Tho the lyrics of ‘We Miss You’ eerily depict the circumstances surrounding my cousin’s death, I wrote & recorded that song on 5/24/2010,” she tweeted . “It was sent to Mariah Carey & Keyshia Cole over a year ago for a possible feature. It didn’t make Pink Friday due to clearance issues. It’s an unauthorized leak.” Minaj then thanked her fans for their support in the wake of the tragic news: “Thank u ALL for your kind words and well wishes. Love.” After announcing the news of her cousin’s death on Twitter, the rapper had stayed off the micro-blogging site until Thursday’s (July 7) leak. Minaj did receive a tweet of encouragement and love from Femme Fatale tourmate Britney Spears : “Please keep @NickiMinaj & her family in your prayers. … keep up the amazing love and support you guys have for her.” “We Miss You” samples Prince’s “Diamonds and Pearls” (which could explain the clearance issues) and is somber ode to a fallen friend. As the beat kicks in, Nicki spits, “Why’d you have to leave in July?/ On a peaceful and serene summer night,” eerily mirroring the events of her cousin’s death. Although the lyrics make reference to the fact that Nicki is rapping about a lover, it seems that the references to murder are very similar to how her cousin died last weekend when he was gunned down in Brooklyn. She later says on the song, “You said that you would leave these streets, and I know you didn’t mean in a body bag/ But now we see you were not bulletproof, and I’m mad ’cause you were the best that I ever had.” Share your condolences for Nicki and her family in the comments below. Taylor Swift To Turn Speak Now Rehearsal Into Charity Event

Country hitmaker will donate ticket sales from May 21 Speak Now Tour dress rehearsal in Nashville to tornado relief. By Mawuse Ziegbe Taylor Swift Photo: Jason Merritt/ Getty Images Taylor Swift will give fans an early taste of her upcoming Speak Now Tour for a very good cause. The country darling announced on Friday (May 6) that she will allow fans to buy tickets to the final dress rehearsal of her tour to benefit communities devastated by tornadoes in the South in late April. According to the Associated Press, Swift has been preparing for her upcoming trek over the past five weeks at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, which will be the site of the “Speak Now … Help Now” benefit. Although the chart-topper is used to speaking frankly about her personal life in her music, Swift has never invited fans to check out how she gears up for her live shows. The songstress explained that witnessing the havoc-wreaking storms while putting the Speak Now Tour together inspired her to switch things up and take action. “I was watching the coverage of the tornadoes backstage at rehearsals, and I wanted to do something for the families affected by the damage,” Swift told the AP. “I’ve never opened a rehearsal to the public before, but I felt that inviting my fans to the last rehearsal for the Speak Now Tour would be a great way to raise money.” The songbird added that the benefit will be different from her other live appearances, as she is still hammering out the kinks of the production. “We will probably still be doing some fine-tuning to the show that night, since this will be a true rehearsal, but I feel like it is so important for me and my fans to help if we can,” she said. Swift’s Speak Now Tour is slated to kick off May 27 in Omaha, Nebraska, but before she hits the road, the Grammy-winning superstar is set to unveil her latest video, “Mean,” on Friday night (May 6) on CMT and CMT.com at 10 p.m. ET. ‘X Factor’ Judge L.A. Reid Hints At Another Record Label Gig

‘I’m nobody’s fool, I didn’t give up my day job,’ former Universal exec tells Hot 97 of Sony rumors. By Alvin Blanco, with reporting by Jim Cantiello L.A. Reid Photo: Jason Merritt/ Getty Images Could L.A. Reid have another music executive gig up his sleeve? The music mogul resigned from his chairman post at Island Def Jam to become a judge on Simon Cowell’s “X Factor,” but he’s been dropping hints that he hasn’t completely abandoned the record label boardroom. When MTV News asked Reid whether the relationship “X Factor” has with Sony Music — the winner will get a recording contract from the label — means he may be taking on an executive role at the company in the near future, he didn’t totally dismiss the notion. “You’re good, you are so good, you’re good, let’s have that conversation another time,” Reid coyly told us. “Just hold that one for a little while; slow down, pal.” On Tuesday, during a phone interview with Hot 97’s Angie Martinez, Reid dodged a similar question from the radio personality while also noting that his gig on “X Factor” is only one of his gigs and “just a little bit of a shift.” “Listen, I’m nobody’s fool, I didn’t give up my day job,” Reid told Martinez. “I had to leave Universal Music Group and try my hat on someplace else that we’ll announce. We’ll announce that one in a little while.” While at Def Jam Reid, reported to Doug Morris, who recently left his post as chairman of the Universal Music Group. Morris will formally assume the role of CEO of Sony Music on July 1. Besides a recording contract from Sony Music, the eventual winner of “X Factor” will take home $5 million in cash. Cowell, Reid and the rest of the still-unannounced judges will be seeking artists with astronomical talents to match that windfall. “I’m personally looking for artists that are along the lines of today’s pop stars,” Reid said. “Whether it be a Rihanna or a Justin Bieber or a Kanye West or a Beyonc

By Jocelyn Vena Lady Gaga Photo: Jason Merritt/ Getty Images In Lady Gaga’s latest Gagavision , the singer opens up about the making of “Judas.” In episode 42, fans learn that Gaga has been hard at work preparing for the highly anticipated release of Born This Way ‘s second single, which drops April 19. “I graphic-designed the ‘Judas’ single cover myself,” she shares in the video. “I photographed the image with my cellphone for texture.” Gaga then sits in a Haus meeting, discussing the specifics of her album release. “I don’t want the word ‘deluxe’ on the album,” she stipulates to her team. “I hate that word.” Scattered around Gaga are images, seemingly from something “Judas”-related . On one photo the word “Judas” is printed with a cross on it, looking like artwork that could have easily appeared in Baz Luhrmann’s version of “Romeo and Juliet.” More photos are also spread on the floor, one of which seems to be of Gaga, her hair long and blond.
