It’s the topic of the week in the supermarket tabloid world: Why did Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony file for divorce? Rumors abound, many of them blaming Anthony for the split and citing jealousy/control issues . Now, People Magazine takes it a step further: in this week’s issue , the publication says J. Lo worried about infidelity on at least three occasions. An Anthony insiders refutes this claim, though, says the two just “started to see things differently” and: “Though they love, admire and respect each other very much, they just needed to be apart.” Pick up the latest issues of these magazines for more J. Lo/M. Ant scoop! Meanwhile, Us Weekly says Ben Affleck actually played a role in the split. Lopez’s ex was reportedly contacted by Lopez’s mother, Guadalupe. [Ben] replied back on email, wished her well and offered what he could,” a mole said. A few days after Affleck allegedly talked with Jennifer, she filed for divorce. The tabloid cites Anthony’s controlling nature for the split and concludes: Lopez “actually has low self-esteem. And Marc really played into that insecurity. That’s why she put up with his abuse for such a long time.”

Apparently Marc objected to his wife’s sexy clothing, saying that a 40-year-old mother shouldn’t be dressing like a 25-year-old pop star: “He would make her feel terrible about herself if she wanted to wear something sexy,” says another source. “He likes her to dress in a demure, ‘wife’ style. He hated the fact that she was a sex symbol.” “Marc has always been a very dominating husband,” another insider says of the couple, who announced the end of their marriage last Friday. “He wants to control everything Jennifer does.” The article even alleges that Jen reached out to Ben Affleck for help and guidance just days before the couple filed for divorce. That sounds like one big mess. But they sum up the couple’s issues like this: “It was a very bad marriage, and Jennifer got the courage to end things,” an insider says, adding, “[Marc] was a terrible husband.” Jennifer Lopez actually suffers from low self esteem that Marc preyed upon. The Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony divorce came as a shock to almost everybody. After seven years of marriage, the couple announced their split last last week, leaving many to wonder what will happen with their joint business ventures. According to the Hollywood Reporter, their plans to launch and produce the Latin talent show, “Q’Viva: The Chosen,” are still on. The search for contestants will begin being filmed this fall and, once aired, will broadcast simultaneously across 21 countries in North America, Central America and South America. In April, it was announced that the couple would “embark on what’s being described as ‘an epic three month long journey to create the ultimate live show celebrating Latin music, artistry and dance.’ Their travels will take them to remote areas of the Americas and filming will incorporate three languages.” J. Singer opened up to MTV News about trying to capture ‘different moments in love.’ By Jocelyn Vena Jennifer Lopez Photo: MTV News For fans wondering what went wrong with Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony in the wake of their split , perhaps they should look no further than the title of Lopez’s last album, Love?. In the lead-up to its release, Lopez spoke to MTV News about how she was examining her relationships on the record. She also admitted she has always questioned the true meaning of love. “I’m excited for everyone to hear all of the album, but I think in particular some of the songs like ‘What Is Love?,’ ‘One Love,’ ‘Run the World,’ ‘Papi,’ ‘Starting Over,’ especially,” she told us at an album-release event in Los Angeles in May. “They all express different moments in love and that’s what this album was about. You know, sometimes it’s difficult, sometimes it’s amazing, sometimes overwhelming, sometimes you just don’t know what to do. And I hope that I captured all of that on this album.” Lopez has explored the topic of love since the start of her career, beginning with her first single, “If You Had My Love,” a tune that questions the nature of her beau’s affections. She went on to sing about the inner workings of love on tracks like “Love Don’t Cost a Thing.” On Love?, Lopez’s feelings about the emotion are all over the place, maybe giving us some insight about what she was dealing with in her personal life in the months before it was released. In the spring, Lopez explained why she was excited for fans to hear the album: “some of them ’cause they’re straight club bangers, some because of what they have to say and some because of how they make you groove. Dayum! J.Lo is definitely not winning in the personal column this week. Not even a full two days after she and Marc Anthony announced their divorce, that little shrimp of a man was already out in public being disrespectful. Making his first post-split appearance at a weekend concert in Coluombia, the salsa king made light of his personal life by teasing thousands of female admirers about his newly minted single status. So what’d he get off his chest that had fans in such a tizzy? “They say I’m a single man,” quipped Anthony, 42, before launching into one of his trademark romantic salsa hits. According to media reports, the audience at the Símon Bolívar Metropolitan Park in Bogotá greeted the Latin heartthrob’s comment with cheers. This, after Anthony—decked out in a black sportjacket and loose-fitting black button down open at the neck—kicked off his set with “Aguanile,” the song he and J.Lo sang on the American Idol finale last May. The “I Need to Know” singer however didn’t look too broken up. Anthony blew kisses at the crowd in return. Wow! Makes you wonder what brought these two to the point of no return, doesn’t it? We can officially rule out one theory though. According to TMZ , the Cuban actor/model accused of cozying up to J.Lo and showing her just how much better she could do in the looks department says he has nothing to do with Jennifer’s latest love fail. The guy at the center of the affair rumors is telenovela star William Levy — aka the Cuban Brad Pitt — who recently separated from his wife AFTER shooting the music video (see below) with Lopez. But Levy’s rep tells TMZ William and J.Lo are NOT an item … saying, “The only relationship there was or is, is a professional relationship. That’s all there’s ever been.” Whatever it was can’t be too bad though…
