‘Hammer Dance’ Video A ‘Day In The Life’ Of Slaughterhouse

‘When it’s done, you’ll see how authentic it is,’ Crooked I tells MTV News on the video set. By Nadeska Alexis Slaughterhouse on the set of “Hammer Dance” Photo: MTV News Slaughterhouse passed through Austin, Texas, to perform at the Shady 2.0 Showcase during South by Southwest earlier this month, and while they were in town, the boys — Joe Budden, Royce Da 5’9”, Crooked I and Joell Ortiz — slotted some time to film the video for their latest single, “Hammer Dance.” MTV News caught up with the four rappers on set, where they explained the video’s concept and give an update on their upcoming album, Welcome to: Our House. “I think it’s just a day in the life of Slaughterhouse, a lot of energy,” Crooked I told MTV News. “We’re gonna give fans a chance to shine, and I think when it’s done, you’ll see how authentic it is. When we roll into town, we jell with people, no matter where they are, who they are, what part of the world they’re from. We’re just average dudes trying to do extraordinary things.” “Hammer Dance” is the latest single from the group’s sophomore album, which is expected to debut this summer. Slaughterhouse wouldn’t give a specific release date just yet, but they did reveal that their Shady Records boss, Eminem, is in the final stages of mixing. “[We’re] still working out minor tweaks, [but] it’s way more done than people know,” Royce said. “Marshall is actually mixing right now. He’s actually mixed the entire album, and that wasn’t even the original plan, so we’re super excited about that. He’s just taking songs to another level.” Eminem is known for his hands-off approach with artists, but the Detroit native was very much involved in the creation of Welcome to: Our House, as the group explained. “Real talk: A lot of people don’t give Eminem enough credit for his production and his arrangement and his mixing,” Crooked I said. “What he’s doing to add to the album is phenomenal, and I think he deserves props and a salute for that.” “He’s turning it into a movie,” Royce concluded. “It’s becoming way more visual, when he comes and puts his stamp on it, if you will.” What are you expecting from new Slaughterhouse music? Was Jennifer Lawrence Too ‘Curvy’ To Play Katniss In ‘Hunger Games’?

Fan groups respond to one critic’s suggestion that Lawrence’s ‘womanly figure makes a bad fit’ for Katniss. By Elizabeth Lancaster Jennifer Lawrence in “The Hunger Games” Photo: Lionsgate Fans flooded in droves into movie theaters this weekend to see “The Hunger Games.” In the wake of the highly anticipated release, much of the criticism surrounding the movie has been not about the young stars’ performances, but their appearances. Most recently there has been criticism of Jennifer Lawrence’s weight, with some sighting that as Katniss, a girl who grew up in a famine-stricken district of a dystopian society, she should have been thinner. New York Times film critic Manohla Dargis wrote , “A few years ago Ms. Lawrence might have looked hungry enough to play Katniss, but now, at 21, her seductive, womanly figure makes a bad fit for a dystopian fantasy about a people starved into submission.” The statement is receiving much backlash, considering Lawrence is now a certified movie star that countless young women look up to. Putting aside the negative body-image issues the comment suggests, one wonders whether Dargis is accurate in her assessment of the actress/character disparity? MTV News asked expert “Hunger Games” fans to weigh in. Most had the same message: They loved what Lawrence brought to her character and that the scrutiny is misguided. “Katniss may not have been as thin or small in stature as depicted in the book, but it’s not unfathomable that her hunting prowess would have allowed her to have some meat on her bones,” TheHob.org’s Gabby Vittoria responded. She went on to point out that “Peeta wasn’t tall in the movie; Clove wasn’t big and brawny; Katniss wasn’t smaller than most of the Tributes. These physical changes certainly didn’t take away from the story and messages in the movie. Besides, for me, Jennifer’s acting and the quality of the film makes her weight a non-issue.” Many fans not only disagreed with the film critic but were affronted by these reviews of Lawrence. “I’m offended by this critique on so many levels, and honestly, I was shocked that it was ever an issue and that a professional critic would bring it up in the film’s review,” Sara Gundell from the Hunger Games Examiner fan site stated. This backlash about Lawrence’s weight comes in the wake of the questioning of Rue’s race in the film. The pre-teen is played by Amandla Stenberg, who is African American. In recent days her casting was the subject of racially fueled criticism by a handful of moviegoers who have suffered their own backlash. Justin Bieber Channels Justin Timberlake On ‘Boyfriend’

Lead Believe single dropped at midnight on Monday. By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty Images Tween dream swagger is all over Justin Bieber ‘s lead Believe single, “Boyfriend.” Taking several cues from Justin Timberlake’s early post-‘NSYNC work, the track amps up Bieber’s credibility as a teen idol and remixes it with the type of production work longtime pop music fans can appreciate. Lyrically, it sounds a bit silly at times (like when Bieber proposes he and his girl eat fondue by the fire), but Bieber’s delivery of the lines proves that at 18, he’s willing to take the steps to progress forward in the world of pop. Sometimes it seems a little too similar to the way the other Justin delivers lines, but “Boyfriend,” co-produced and co-written by Mike Posner, is light-years beyond the sugary sweet “Baby.” The song opens pretty sparsely, with just a thumping beat, a “woo” noise and Bieber’s sing-songy rap, before a guitar comes in as Bieber makes his plea to win a girl over. The chorus will have girls dancing around thanks to its bumping beat and chugging R&B-influenced instrumentation. He sings, “I could be a gentleman/ Everything you want/ If I was your boyfriend/ I’d never let you go/ I’d never let you go,” before rapping, “Tell me what you like.” Bieber uses some form of the word “swag” no fewer than four times on the track, including the somewhat perplexing line, “Swag, swag, swag on you.” But regardless of what Bieber detractors might have to say, his Beliebers, who have aged right along with their idol, will appreciate his more grown-up sound on the record. The song officially dropped at midnight on Monday. Believe will be released later this year. As for the video, his manager, Scooter Braun, tweeted that it’s already in the works. ‘Hunger Games’ Star Jennifer Lawrence: What’s Next?

A horror movie, two Bradley Cooper films and a return to Katniss Everdeen are all in the works. By Kara Warner Jennifer Lawrence at the “Hunger Games” premiere Photo: Getty Images For those of you who rushed out to the theater to see Jennifer Lawrence and company in this weekend’s box-office blockbuster “The Hunger Games,” how good was Lawrence as Katniss? If you were as delighted and moved by Lawrence’s performance as we were, you’re probably wondering what the Oscar nominee will be up to next. Lucky for you, we have a few answers! Here’s a little rundown of what to expect from Lawrence and where to see more of this talented, charming and all-around likable leading lady. (Side note: Before she jumps right into another project, we hope Lawrence takes a vacation of some sort and gets a little rest and relaxation after her extensive, worldwide promotional tour for “Games.” We loved seeing the cast at so many events and so dressed up, but she has to be exhausted!) Anyway, we have to wait until fall until we get another Lawrence film. The first is the horror/thriller “House at the End of the Street,” co-starring Elisabeth Shue. In the film, Lawrence and Shue play a mother/daughter duo who get wrapped up in the mystery of a murder in a small town. Shortly after the September 21 release of “House at the End of the Street,” fans will see a very brief appearance by Lawrence in “Devil You Know,” playing the younger version of Rosamund Pike’s character Zoe. In November, we’ll see Lawrence in “The Silver Linings Playbook,” the first of two films co-starring Bradley Cooper . “Silver Linings” revolves around a man who tries to put his life back together after spending years in a mental institution. “I just wrapped a movie called ‘The Silver Linings Playbook,’ ” Lawrence told MTV News recently. “And then I’m going to go shoot another Bradley Cooper movie. It’s not a Bradley Cooper movie — Bradley Cooper’s in the movie — it’s a Jennifer Lawrence movie with Bradley in it,” she joked. “Bradley Cooper and I are going to come out with a Jennifer Lawrence/ Bradley Cooper box set.” Their second film together is “Serena,” about a Depression-era couple who face personal complications when they learn that Lawrence’s character cannot bear children, which has a negative impact on the future of their lumber company. Fun fact about “Serena”: Lawrence’s role was originally intended for Angelina Jolie. “I’m not at the status where I have her roles. I have her leftovers, let’s be clear,” she joked of taking over for Jolie. “She left it for me. I have her garbage. No, that’s a wonderful place to be. I’m an actor digging through Angelina Jolie’s garbage. I’ve made it.” Shooting on “Serena” has yet to start. After her work on “Serena,” we’re all hoping Lawrence will be back playing Katniss for “Catching Fire” or getting painted to play Mystique in the yet-to-be-announced sequel to “X-Men: First Class.” Because “Fire” has a November 22, 2013, release date already locked in place, we’re betting Lawrence will be back wielding a bow and arrow before she’s spending countless hours in the makeup chair to “get painted again” for “X-Men.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Hunger Games.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . Does Jennifer Lawrence Show Skin in The Hunger Games?

In a word, no. Our Skin Skout saw a sneak preview of The Hunger Games earlier this week and says that the odds are not ever in favor of star Jennifer Lawrence showing skin in this sci-fi blockbuster. 37 minutes in Jennifer appears in a skin-tight black outfit as part of her presentation, and 42 minutes in she dons another tight workout outfit while practicing archery, but overall the PG-13 rated Hunger Games will leave you starved for nudity. And unfortunately Jennifer has yet to do a proper nude scene, though she went skin-tight for her role as Mystique in X-Men: First Class (2011), stripped to her bra in The Poker House (2008) and donned a bikini as a baby-faced 17-year-old on The Bill Engvall Show . But all is not lost, Skin fans: in a revealing interview with Esquire last month, Jennifer said that while she’s never done onscreen nudity, she’s open to the possibility: “ So far, I haven’t found a film I’d love to be naked in… But I certainly never look at an actress naked in a movie and judge her. It’s a human body, which is a beautiful thing, right? So stay tuned… ” See sexy pics and clips of The Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence right here at MrSkin.com

Jennifer Love Hewitt Does Maxim And Does It Well

Alright so I posted a Twitter picture of Jennifer Love Hewitt earlier looking pretty good giving us a nice peek at her cleavage, but I said I wanted more…. It looks like I got what I asked for. Here she is in Maxim magazine for their Girls Of The 90′s issue. I like it, it brings back some quality masturbation memories. This is the Jennifer Love Hewitt I want to remember, not one shot of that weird gigantic booty she’s developed over the years. Sweet.
