The New Jersey-area jewelry store owner talks to MTV News about the $55,000 ring that Jionni LaValle designed. She was here for her birthday, actually, and she was looking for bangles and she was giving him some hints like certain types of stuff that she would like. So, Jionni came in about a couple months ago; he came in looking at engagement rings. He basically came up with certain design that she liked in some of the rings,” Ben Bekdas, the owner of the New Jersey jewelry store, B&B Jewelers, told MTV News. Check out exclusive photos of Snooki and her brand-new bling. Jionni then took it upon himself to pick a ring that he knew Snooki would love. “He designed it. He came a couple weeks ago he finalized it, he loved it,” he added about the ring, which includes 3.02-carat princess-cut diamond in the center of a custom-built band with 2 carats of diamonds around it. It is reportedly worth about $55,000. “She was totally surprised. She had no clue what it was going to look like,” Bekdas said. “She had never seen it put together and he came and totally surprised her.” Now that there couple has a baby on the way and a wedding to plan, Bekdas said they have already started talking about designs for their wedding bands. “I spoke to them yesterday. They’re doing fabulous,” he added. “They’re doing great. He told me he was going to do it at the W Hotel in Hoboken and he was going to do it on the balcony. That he was going to get down on his knees.” Bekdas even gave us some insight into what they are like when the cameras aren’t rolling. “They were talking about [marriage for a while]. They were making comments. Jionni was saying ‘We’ll be getting married.’ I didn’t know that she was pregnant until a few weeks ago but I didn’t say nothing,” he said. “Honestly they’re incredible. ‘We’re saying, ‘Let’s just vibe out, write a million songs and see what we’re feeling most,’ Nick Jonas tells MTV News. The Jonas Brothers promised they’d be hitting the studio very soon, and it seems they are men of their word. This week big bro Kevin tweeted out some footage of Joe and Nick in the studio whipping up some musical ear candy that will surely delight their fans. While there’s no certainty that the teased track will make their next studio release, the song certainly does blend the guys’ love for mixing genres, touching on soul, rock and disco. When Nick dropped by the MTV News offices recently, he said that when this next album drops, all bets are off as to what it will sound like. “We have spoken about it, and the thing we’re doing which is different to any record we’ve made in the past is we’re saying, ‘Anything goes, let’s just vibe out, listen to a million songs, write a million songs and see what we’re feeling most.’ Our statement, as a band, for this record has to be really strong. We feel like we want to deliver the best record we can.” Individually, the guys have been busy churning out albums, but there hasn’t been a proper JB album since 2009, when they dropped Lines, Vines and Trying Times. The guys are well aware that the music scene is vastly different three years later. “We pay attention to it, definitely,” Nick said. “That’s part of your job as an artist, too, is to be aware of what other people are doing. … We pay attention and have been paying attention just to see where we want to fall. But first we just want to write great songs, and as far as how it sounds, that’ll come second.” There has yet to be a release date for the album, but the Jonas Brothers have teased that it may drop before the end of the year. The hashtag #JonasBrothers2012 attached to the studio video may be the best hint so far. “We don’t know how long it’s going to take us to write this record,” Nick warned. “It may take a couple weeks, it may take months, it could take years, but we’re ready to go on that journey. It’s been a while and there has been a lot of growth as individuals and musically as well. We’ve all gone on our journeys musically. And plenty of stars have allowed cameras into their homes to mark the months as they wait for the blessed event. But none of them were “Jersey Shore” star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi. On Wednesday (March 7), pint-sized, fist-pumping self-proclaimed “meatball” Snooki confirmed to MTV News that she is pregnant with her first child and engaged to boyfriend Jionni LaValle. Sure, you expect to see the trials and tribulations of young women dealing with baby bumps on shows like, duh, “16 and Pregnant.” But given the popularity of “Shore” and the upcoming spin-off Snooki will star in with “Shore” pal JWoww, chances are we’ve never seen anything like this before. So we decided to see how Snooks stacks up against other expectant reality-show ladies who’ve shared their joy with us onscreen. Kourtney Kardashian : The Kardashians are not known for their shy, retiring nature. From letting us into their bedrooms, weddings and subsequent bust-ups, they have shared it all. The star of no fewer than three family-focused features, Kourtney publicly agonized over whether to keep her first baby, Mason, born in December 2009. Rachel Zoe : The fourth season of the stylist-to-the-stars’ show, “The Rachel Zoe Project,” dealt with the departure of her right-hand man, Brad Goreski, and the pressure of keeping up her hectic cross-country travel schedule while taking care of herself in the lead-up to the birth of her first child, son Skyler. Tori Spelling : We don’t know what Snooki’s TV pregnancy will look like, but few stars have embraced being with child on the tube as much as this former “Beverly Hills, 90210” star and daughter of Hollywood royalty. Every one of her three pregnancies has been caught on tape to some degree, beginning with son Liam in “Tori & Dean: Inn Love,” her first reality series with husband Dean McDermott. The on-screen bump she sported during “Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood” in 2008 resulted in daughter Stella.
