REVIEW: Characters Deserve Better in Violent Killer Inside Me

The brash violence of Michael Winterbottom’s The Killer Inside Me — adapted from Jim Thompson’s merciless and enthralling 1952 pulp novel about a psychotic West Texas sheriff — began dividing audiences last January at Sundance . It also appears to have divided Winterbottom himself, though he doesn’t know it. The controversy involves two particularly violent scenes, one a protracted sequence in which a character played by Jessica Alba is beaten until her face resembles what one character calls “stewed meat, hamburger.” The nutso sheriff, played by Casey Affleck, throws perhaps some 20 punches; we see about six or seven of them land, as Alba’s face becomes progressively bruised, bloodied and misshapen, until it resembles a cracked-open, oversized plum.

Jessica Alba’s Hot And Scary Sexiness

Finally I’ve got some sexy pictures of Jessica Alba , I was beginning to get sick and tired of all the boring shots of her walking around in her lame outfits running mom errands. Here she is looking badass in a photoshoot for some magazine called Genlux , I don’t know what that is either, but I like what I see. She’s a little scary, a little crazy and a whole lot of sexy. My boner is a little frightened…. And I like it.

Snooki, Tom Felton, Jessica Alba Rock Twitter During 2010 MTV Movie Awards

Stars give a behind-the-scenes glimpse at what was going on during the big show. By Brian Warmoth Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards Photo: Jason Merritt/ Getty Images Fans weren’t the only ones tweeting throughout the 2010 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night — plenty of the show’s stars took to Twitter as well, and we were watching. Everyone from Best Villain winner Tom Felton to the “Jersey Shore” crew posted about what went on from where they were sitting. Jessica Alba offered props to show host Aziz Ansari , tweeting a compressed mini-review of his stint as the show’s on-stage ringmaster. “Aziz killed it 2nite as host 4 MTV movie awards,” Alba tweeted. “Tom Cruise dancing = hilarious & Ken Jeong was out of control funny. Gd times.” Elizabeth Banks also tweeted about Ansari taking her on-the-ground commentary a step further by letting everyone know what he looked and smelled like in person. “Fun after party for @azizansari after MTV Movie Awards,” the “Zack and Miri Make a Porno” actress said. “Aziz was big pimping in his white tux. He also smelled vaguely of olives.” Ansari’s most vivid tweet came after seeing the star of from “The Karate Kid” remake. “Jaden Smith went buckwild during my monologue!!!,” he wrote. “Hahahaha. This is nuts.” “Harry Potter” star Tom Felton initially focused on thanking the voters who helped secure his award for the night, but then got into the heckling he received from Mark Wahlberg (who was hanging from the stage’s rafters with Will Ferrell for a jokey stunt during the award presentation) during his acceptance speech. “Thank you for a truly unforgettable evening! Had a great night! Thank you so much for every single vote! THANKYOU!!! X,” he wrote, “and a big thank you to Mark Wahlberg for co-writing my acceptance speech, we got together a couple of days ago and wrote that little skit x.” He quickly tagged the Wahlberg reference as a joke, though. “I was joking about the Wahlberg speech! I was a bit stumped by the situation but did my best, not an everyday occurrence x,” he explained. Wahlberg apologized to Felton for the interruption — in front of MTV News’ cameras — shortly after the show. Tom Cruise’s account , which is mostly maintained by his personal staff, produced a few photos of the show and congratulated Kirsten Stewart, Sandra Bullock and Robert Pattinson on their accolades. Elsewhere, Snooki and the Hilton sisters shared a few photo ops and sounded excited to see each other. “The Hilton sistas! Love you bitches!” Snooki wrote after bumping into Paris and Nicky and capturing the moment via TweetPhoto . Nicky even returned the love with a response shortly thereafter. “We love you too!” the younger Hilton wrote. So even if the “Jersey Shore” cast hasn’t managed to earn any big-screen nominations just yet, at least one of them has been making new friends. Did we miss any? ‘Lost’ Stars: What’s Next?

Evangeline Lilly has a project lined up, while Josh Holloway takes a more relaxed approach to his post-‘Lost’ career. By Josh Wigler Jorge Garcia, Matthew Fox and Evangeline Lilly on the penultimate episode of “Lost” Photo: ABC After six seasons of action-packed adventure and routinely confounding mysteries, the story of “Lost” is over — no more Jack, no more Sawyer, no more anybody. But just because the survivors of Oceanic Flight 815 are no longer gracing the television screen week in and week out doesn’t mean we’ve seen the last of the actors who play them. Fans are already used to seeing former “Lost” actors in other places. Elizabeth Mitchell is the star of “V,” for example, while Ian Somerhalder is one of three crucial characters on “The Vampire Diaries.” Soon, viewers will have all-new avenues to enjoy the work of their other favorite “Lost” actors too. Take Evangeline Lilly, for instance. The actress, who played fugitive Kate Austen on the series, has gone on the record with her intentions to take a break from acting after “Lost.” But Lilly, who previously held a small role in “The Hurt Locker” as Jeremy Renner’s wife, already has her first post-“Lost” gig lined up in the form of “Real Steel,” a futuristic boxing drama starring Hugh Jackman and fellow “Lost” alumnus Kevin Durand. Daniel Dae Kim, meanwhile, is not only staying on television, he’s also staying in Hawaii. The former Jin-Soo Kwon becomes Chin Ho Kelly next fall in CBS’ remake of “Hawaii Five-O.” Kim stars opposite Grace Park, an actress who knows a thing or two about ending a fan-favorite series in the form of “Battlestar Galactica.” Sarcastic pilot Frank Lapidus’ real-life counterpart, Jeff Fahey, has plans of his own too. He’s part of an all-star cast, including Lindsay Lohan, Jessica Alba and Robert De Niro, in “Machete,” based on a fictional trailer created for Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino’s “Grindhouse.” For some actors, the future is a bit unclear. Matthew Fox has long been attached to the comic book adaptation “Billy Smoke,” though a full year has elapsed since the latest major update on that project. Likewise, actor Nestor Carbonell is often mentioned for the role of Khan in the developing “Star Trek” sequel, though the rumor remains unconfirmed. Many “Lost” vets are taking things a bit easier. Josh Holloway and Jorge Garcia, for instance, have no immediate plans beyond returning to Los Angeles to find new work. Michael Emerson, meanwhile, is hoping to return to his roots as a stage actor. But if Terry O’Quinn has his way, it won’t be long before Ben and Locke reunite on the small screen. O’Quinn, who surprised audiences with his turn as the villainous smoke monster in the final season of “Lost,” has reportedly pitched producers on a television series starring himself and Emerson as two middle-aged hit men getting by in suburbia — a show that would certainly help struggling “Lost” fans through major bouts of withdrawal. Vampire Diaries#39; star Nina Dobrev in the Turks and Caicos yesterday. Meh. Based on the pictures I#39;ve posted of this chick in the past, I thought she#39;d look better. Dobrev attended Wexford Collegiate School for the Arts in Toronto until her graduating year. She entered secondary studies at Ryerson University in Toronto, majoring in sociology, before dropping out i

Kristen Stewart Scores Two Best Kiss Nods For MTV Movie Awards

‘New Moon’ and ‘Runaways’ star is up for lip-locks in both films at the awards show. By Jocelyn Vena Kristen Stewart Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage It’s a good thing “The Hangover” isn’t up for Best Kiss at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards . The nomination front-runner snagged six nods but was shut out of the kissing category, leaving room for “Twilight” star Kristen Stewart to dominate. KStew is not only nominated for her steamy kiss with Robert Pattinson in “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” but she could also win for her girly lip-lock with Dakota Fanning in “The Runaways.” Stewart has been quite the busy girl this year! When MTV News caught up with the star last year, we asked which big-screen co-star was the better kisser: RPattz’s Edward Cullen or Fanning’s Cherie Currie . “Cherie, yeah,” Stewart laughed. Still, Stewart will have some stiff competition at the awards show. Also in the running for most memorable smooch are Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds for “The Proposal,” along with Zoe Saldana and Sam Worthington for “Avatar.” And yet another “Twilight” star made the list, albeit not for the vampire saga. Taylor Lautner’s kiss with his onetime lady love and co-star Taylor Swift in the rom-com “Valentine’s Day” rounds out this year’s Best Kiss nominees. While “Twilight” fans may be pulling for the series’ stars, Lautner and Swift can probably count on support from “Valentine’s Day” co-star Jessica Alba, who gushed about the pair earlier this year. “Taylor Swift is so cute,” Alba said. “And Taylor Lautner is so cute. Their story line is definitely one of my favorites.” What was your favorite kiss at the movies this year? Tell us in the comments! Don’t miss the MTV Movie Awards , airing Sunday, June 6, at 9 p.m. ET on MTV! For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com .
