Brad Pitt Calls Jennifer Aniston ‘A Dear Friend’

‘I can’t say something nice about Angie without Jen being drug in,’ he tells ‘Today’ about his recent Parade interview. By Jocelyn Vena Brad Pitt and Matt Lauer on the “Today” show Photo: NBC News Brad Pitt can’t seem to escape talking about his Jennifer Aniston comments in Parade. In an interview with the “Today” show airing Thursday, the “Moneyball” star once again went on the defensive. “I don’t know what was pieced together or put together. All I know is that my point was, the best thing I’d done as a father is be sure that my kids have a good mother,” Pitt tells Matt Lauer in the interview. “That’s all I was, or am, trying to say. It has no reference to the past. And I think it’s a shame that I can’t say something nice about Angie without Jen being drug in. You know, she doesn’t deserve it.” Pitt was quoted by Parade as saying, “I wasn’t living an interesting life myself. I think that my marriage had something to do with it. Trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn’t.” He later released a statement to clarify those comments, writing, “It grieves me that this was interpreted this way.” The latter sentiment is mirrored in his interview with “Today.” “I don’t want them to say anything bad like that about Jen. She’s a dear friend of mine,” he said, adding that Aniston has not reached out to him about the Parade interview. During the chat, Pitt also got the chance to open up about the Oscar buzz around “Moneyball.” “It remains a great piece of material for me that I got to take on. And we’re all — it’s too early to talk about all that other stuff,” Pitt said. “It’s all good fun if your number comes up, and it’s even more fun when your friend’s number comes up.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Moneyball.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Robert Pattinson Not Recording A Solo Album

Contrary to online rumors, ‘Breaking Dawn’ star has no plans to drop an LP, rep confirms to MTV News. By Kara Warner Robert Pattinson Photo: Getty Images His legions of hopeful fans will be sad to hear it, but despite reports and rumors to the contrary, Robert Pattinson is not recording an album. On Tuesday (September 20), Us Weekly reported that the “Twilight” superstar was itching to record his own songs, but according to the magazine’s two sources, he felt torn between his acting commitments and his love of music. The story further alleged that the 25-year-old would be putting together a guitar-based record in the next few weeks, before the promotional tour for “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” kicks into gear. MTV News reached out to Pattinson’s rep, who told us, “The report is untrue. He is not working on an album right now.” Of course, that is not to say Pattinson might not record music someday — he has previously recorded “Never Think” and “Let Me Sign” for the original “Twilight” soundtrack — but it’s not happening now. When we caught up with “Breaking Dawn” director Bill Condon at Comic-Con, he confirmed that there would be some familiar musical themes weaved into the fourth film, courtesy of composer Carter Burwell, who scored the first movie. And while the director would not confirm Pattinson’s inclusion on the soundtrack, he hinted that some of the musically inclined castmembers might lend their talents. “We’re just figuring out [the soundtrack] now,” Condon said during MTV News’ “Breaking Dawn” Comic-Con takeover. “We have a lot of [songs]. We have like 15, I think.” Do you want to hear RPattz on the “Breaking Dawn” soundtrack? Tell us in the comments! Related Videos MTV Rough Cut: Robert Pattinson

Justin Bieber: Boyz II Men ‘Perfect’ For Christmas Song

Holiday collabo is called ‘Falalalala,’ group reveals to MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena Boyz II Men Photo: MTV News After a photo surfaced online of Justin Bieber and Boyz II Men singer Shawn Stockman in the studio together, Beliebers were pretty excited about the Christmas track they were putting together. Bieber had his musical heroes in mind when he heard the song — called “Falalalala,” the group revealed to MTV News — for his upcoming holiday album. “He thought we’d be perfect for it,” Stockman said. “And we went in and locked in.” When the Boyz stopped by to talk about their October album Twenty, Wanya Morris recalled meeting the teen star for the first time way back before they all worked together. “We met him in the hotel, at the Le Montrose, in L.A. and the dude, he had a cast on at the time,” Morris remembered. “And he stepped up and said, ‘Oh my God! Boyz II Men, you’re my favorite group!’ And we’re like, ‘Oh, OK,’ and at the time, we didn’t know who he was. He was a new dude, and the next thing you know, he’s huge. And I’m like, ‘That’s the same guy!’ ” Bieber was a fan of Boyz II Men from when he was a kid, but there was one track that wasn’t allowed in the Bieber household. “He told us his mom didn’t want him to sing ‘I’ll Make Love to You,’ so he’d sneak and go sing it somewhere,” Morris said. “It’s also good to know we’ve influenced such a good artist. It’s something that makes us feel we’ve accomplished [something and] we’re doing our job, [that] a guy so young and so into his craft [is] influenced by three guys from Philadelphia that love to sing.” What are you expecting from Bieber and Boyz II Men’s Christmas collabo? LMFAO Strip Down For ‘Sexy And I Know It’ Video

‘You gotta have moves, whether it be in the bedroom [or] on the dance floor,’ Redfoo tells MTV News about just-released clip. By Jocelyn Vena LMFAO Photo: MTV News LMFAO shuffled their way through the “Party Rock” video, and now they’re hoping to make “the wiggle” the next national dance craze. The guys just dropped their video for “Sexy and I Know It,” and it features lots of metallic Speedos, NSFW wiggling and a few celeb cameos. Redfoo and Sky Blu enlisted the help of their usual Party Rock crew, as well as Simon Rex, Wilmer Valderrama and Ron Jeremy, as they dance their way through Venice Beach and a local bar proving they are sexy and they know it. The video was shot back in late August, and MTV News caught up with LMFAO in Los Angeles as they cast extras for the video. We wanted to know: Just what is sexy? “Sexy is confidence. It’s ‘I don’t care what other people think, but I want them to think I’m sexy at the same time,’ ” Redfoo explained. “It’s a Catch-22. I want to be seen. Sexy is you want attention and you gotta have moves. You gotta have moves, whether it be in the bedroom [or] on the dance floor — just the way you walk, the way you talk.” His party pal, Sky Blu, had this piece of advice for those hoping to prove their sexiness after checking out the clip: “You’ve got to cultivate sexy. Sexy is something that you’ve consciously or unconsciously throughout your life been working on. If you’re in the mirror doing a little helicopter after the shower, that’s sexy and I know it.” Like their previous clips, the video features lots of gyrating dance moves. “It has to become natural to the way you already move, the way you walk,” Redfoo said of their dancing skillz. “It’s the same smooth thang.” What did you think of the “Sexy and I Know It” video? Lady Gaga Recalls ‘Self-Indulgent’ Drug Use In Jean-Paul Gaultier Special

‘I don’t encourage anyone to follow that path,’ Gaga says of partying youth in interview aired on the CW. By Jocelyn Vena Lady Gaga Photo: James Devaney/WireImage Lady Gaga sat down with French fashion pioneer Jean-Paul Gaultier for a special that aired Monday night on the CW. The singer opened up to the fashion designer about her beginnings and what she calls her “self-indulgent” youth. “I just was partying and being very self-indulgent and trying to find myself. In hindsight, it’s so dangerous, and I don’t encourage anyone to follow that path,” she told the designer. “I remember my dad … I was actually doing drugs in my parents’ house one day and they didn’t know I was in the bathroom. I came out, and my father could tell, and I just remember feeling so embarrassed and I quit instantly.” Despite her hard-partying ways, Gaga always maintained her pop star ambitions. She talked about quitting college, performing in small New York clubs and making the decision to take off her clothes during her performances to get everyone’s attention. “I knew that there was something I loved about the shock-art potential of what I could create,” she said. “I like to liberate myself with my ability to change.” She later likened that philosophy to her look: “I still love trash glamour; it’s so much of my favorite thing about getting dressed. I love the mixture of things that are really elegant with things that are really trashy.” That combination has made her a superstar. She explained, “My cultural contribution and social contribution was really an honor and I’m still so humbled by it. I hope I can continue to use my voice to make an impact on my generation.” Related Photos The Evolution Of: Lady Gaga Related Artists Lady Gaga

‘Point Break,’ ‘Sparkle’ Get The Remake Treatment

Whitney Houston, Jordin Sparks attached to update of 1976’s ‘Sparkle.’ By Jocelyn Vena Jordin Sparks Photo: Getty Images We can add two more films to the “classics” getting the reboot treatment in Hollywood: New versions of 1991’s “Point Break” and 1976’s “Sparkle” are reportedly in the works. TheWrap.com reports that Alcon Entertainment is currently working on a reimagining of surfer-heist flick “Point Break,” which starred Keanu Reeves as FBI agent Johnny Utah who goes under cover and hangs 10 with a group of surfing criminals, led by Patrick Swayze. The new film will also include an extreme sport, but no word on whether it will still be surfing. Producer Michael DeLuca explained that the Kathryn Bigelow-directed original was “a Zen meditation on testosterone fueled action and manhood in the late 20th century” that they want to re-create for the 21st century. In that other remake news, according to Variety, Sony Pictures is readying a remake of “Sparkle,” with Jordin Sparks and Whitney Houston (who will also executive produce) rumored to star. Mike Epps has also been attached to the project, with production slated to begin next month. The original film’s plot, inspired by the story of the Supremes, revolved around three Harlem sisters who become a successful 1950s girl group and experience the pitfalls of fame. The new movie will tell the story of an aspiring singer (Sparks) in 1968 Detroit. This will be Houston’s first big screen film since 1996’s “The Preacher’s Wife.” This is Sparks’ feature film debut.
