Katy Perry Dishes On Whipped-Cream Bra In ‘California Gurls’ Video

‘It was really intense with all that whipped cream coming from my back through my assets,’ she tells MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena Katy Perry in her ‘California Gurls’ video Photo: Capitol Katy Perry dons a very unique piece of clothing for her “California Gurls” video , which made its sugary-sweet debut on Tuesday. In addition to her bedazzled Daisy Dukes and cupcake bra, there’s one particular accessory that will leave fans talking. In the latter part of the video, in order to defeat Snoop Dogg’s evil Sugar Daddy and his army of Gummi Bears, Perry turns to her whipped-cream-dispensing bra. “These whipped-cream [boobs] were in the music video because that was my only ammo,” she told MTV News. “I had to slay those Gummi Bears that were very evil. I had to show them who was boss in Candyfornia: the Gurls. The California Gurls, of course.” As cool as the costume may look now that the video is all done and ready for fans’ viewing pleasure, it wasn’t all that pleasant to wear during the shoot. “It was really intense with all that whipped cream coming from my back through my assets,” she said. On top of those chest-mounted frosting cannons, fans will also notice Katy’s cupcake bra, which was also a bit of a hassle on set. “I will tell you that those cupcake-bra boobies, they were a little bit heavy and they were interesting,” she said. “It was really fun making these costumes. They’re all one-of-a-kind, and I love the Bettie Page moment in the red and the whipped-cream cans.” What do you think of Perry’s whipped-cream brassiere? Tell us in the comments! Robert Pattinson Says ‘Eclipse’ Tent Scene Was Re-Shot To Be ‘More Erotic’

RPattz hasn’t yet seen the final version: ‘I saw an earlier cut, and I liked what happened in the tent scene.’ By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson in “Eclipse” Photo: Summit Entertainment The tent scene is already a cast favorite and the most eagerly anticipated moment in “Eclipse,” opening June 30. At a “New Moon” screening last year, Taylor Lautner said it was his favorite moment to film, while Elizabeth Reaser described it as a “chaste three-way.” Robert Pattinson has yet to see the final cut of his love-triangle moment with Lautner and Kristen Stewart, but he did approve of an earlier version of the scene. “I saw an earlier cut, and I liked what happened in the tent scene when I saw it,” he told MTV News while promoting “Eclipse” in Los Angeles. “But we re-shot it, so I’m not sure what the new one is like. So maybe on the DVD you’ll have the old tent scene.” So what changed in the new tent scene? Apparently, it’s much steamier. “Just the staging was different,” he said. “I think they tried to make it more erotic.” Well, whatever they did, it certainly has Reaser all hot and bothered. When asked which scene she was most excited for fans to see in the upcoming third “Twilight” film, the Cullen matriarch went straight for the camping gear. “The tent scene, I remember that being one of the hottest scenes in the books, so I’m excited to see that,” she said when asked what fans will love most. “The tent scene is sort of a three-way — I mean, it’s a chaste three-way, but it is, nonetheless, a three-way.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . Katy Perry Explains Her Lady Gaga ‘Blasphemy’ Tweet

‘Spirituality and sexuality are two separate things, and then when you decide to put them into the same subject, it gets interesting for some people,’ she says. By Jocelyn Vena Katy Perry Photo: Robyn Beck/ AFP/ Getty Images Last week, the same day Lady Gaga premiered her clip for “Alejandro,” fellow pop star Katy Perry posted a tweet that many fans thought was in response to the video’s religious imagery. “Using blasphemy as entertainment is as cheap as a comedian telling a fart joke,” Perry posted. In a new radio interview, the “California Gurls” singer clarified her comment, noting that it wasn’t solely about Gaga. “What’s funny is that everybody was assuming I was directing it completely towards her, and if I was directing something I would write their ‘@,’ ” she told a French radio station Sunday in a clip posted on PerezHilton.com . “Lately, I’ve just been seeing some things that are kind of like, I don’t know, in my own personal feelings, a little bit like not something I would do, I guess.” She went on to specify that it wasn’t just Gaga’s “Alejandro” that left her underwhelmed by pop culture’s use of religious imagery. “You know, when Madonna was on a cross, and sometimes my boyfriend will say things that are a little bit ‘eh’ for me, from where I come from,” she said of her upbringing with her parents, who are both pastors. “It’s hard for me to say that, because sometimes I’m a very hypocritical person. Everybody’s like, ‘How do you say that and you kissed a girl?’ And I think sometimes, most of the time, you can disagree or agree, spirituality and sexuality are two separate things, and then when you decide to put them into the same subject, it gets interesting for some people.” Perry said that regardless of her opinions on using religion in pop culture, she still loves Gaga. “Everybody knows, I’ve said it maybe 100 times on my Twitter, I’m one of the biggest Lady Gaga fans and Madonna fans and Russell Brand fans,” she explained. “It’s just that, like, of course, some people have different viewpoints.” Are you surprised that Katy wasn’t a fan of Gaga’s video? Betty White Calls Sandra Bullock A ‘Lifelong Friend’ On ‘The View’

‘Golden Girls’ star also recalls her friendship with the late Rue McClanahan. By Jocelyn Vena Betty White on “The View” on Monday Photo: ABC Among the many topics Betty White discussed during her stop by “The View” on Monday (June 14), the “Golden Girls” star talked about how well Sandra Bullock addressed her personal life at the MTV Movie Awards earlier this month, when she accepted the Generation Award. “She’s doing fine and, bless her heart, I was so proud of her that night that she didn’t avoid the subject, she addressed [telling everyone], ‘Don’t worry about me. I’m doing fine,’ and she meant it,” White said of her co-star in “The Proposal.” “We had a great visit backstage.” White said that the two actresses became close on the set of the hit movie. “We became lifelong friends on ‘The Proposal,’ ” she said. “She’s one of the most special people I’ve ever met. Too bad she’s not good looking, but otherwise …” White also opened up about the loss of her other lifelong pal, Rue McClanahan, who died earlier this month. The two starred on “The Golden Girls” together some 25 years ago, and White said they always kept in touch after the show ended in 1992. “I talked to her three days before we lost her,” White said. “She lived in New York and I lived on the West Coast. We talked every three, four weeks. She was getting back [after some health complications], so we thought she was doing well. But, unfortunately, it surprised us.” With her much-hyped stint on “Saturday Night Live” behind her, White is looking forward to her next gig on the small screen, the TV Land sitcom “Hot in Cleveland” that also stars Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves and Wendie Malick. “Well, because there’s four of us naturally there’s a comparison [to ‘Golden Girls’], but it’s totally different … the chemistry between us,” she shared. “They truly love each other and it shows.” So, what’s next for White? ” I’m ready for Robert Redford, whenever he is!” she joked. Jackson Rathbone Excited To Have ‘Twilight’ ‘Family Reunion’ For ‘Breaking Dawn’

‘Eclipse’ star admits he knows little about film’s script, schedule. By Jocelyn Vena Jackson Rathbone Photo: MTV News The third movie in the “Twilight” saga, “Eclipse,” doesn’t hit theaters until July 2. But fans are already wondering when the crew will get together to film the last installment ( or two ) of the series. “Breaking Dawn” may have all the actors back on board , a release date and a director , but Jackson Rathbone, who plays Jasper Hale in the movies, admitted that he still has much to learn about the project. “I have not spoken to [“Eclipse” director] Bill Condon yet, but I’m excited to,” Rathbone told MTV News last week, when he was in Los Angeles for the MTV Movie Awards. “He’s an incredible director, [an] Academy Award winner. That’s amazing, so it’s just another awesome director to handle the ‘Twilight’ franchise. “[‘Twilight’ director] Catherine Hardwicke brought a very independent feel. [‘New Moon’ director] Chris Weitz kind of made it a little more beautiful and elegant and [‘Eclipse’ director] David Slade’s going a little darker… so I’m excited to see what Bill Condon does,” Rathbone continued. “I really have no idea. I haven’t even seen a script for ‘Breaking Dawn’ yet, to be honest. I’m right there with you, still waiting.” Rathbone admitted that he didn’t quite know the timetable for shooting “Breaking Dawn,” either. “I don’t! I could lie though! I will lie to you,” the “The Last Airbender” star teased. He then made up this scenario: “We’re filming it tomorrow, all of it in one day. We’re just gonna drink a lot of Red Bulls and we’re gonna have a green screen and go through it; no script even. We’re gonna make it up. You know what? We’re gonna try for all tomorrow.” Many of the elements of “Breaking Dawn” are still unknown, but Rathbone is certain of one thing: He’s happy that the whole cast is reuniting. “I just wanted the family to be together,” he said. “We grew up [together]. Every time we get to film with one another, it’s like a family reunion.” Related Photos ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’

Aubrey O’Day Thought Sex Was ‘Disgusting’ In High School, On ‘When I Was 17’

‘When I was 17, contrary to popular opinion, I was a virgin,’ former Danity Kane singer says. By Jocelyn Vena Aubrey O’day Photo: MTV News These days, Aubrey O’Day is known as a sexy pop singer who, among other things, has appeared in a Vegas stage show nearly nude. But back in high school, the Playboy model thought sex was kind of gross. On this week’s episode of “When I Was 17,” O’Day admits that having sex was not her number-one goal in life. “When I was 17, contrary to popular opinion, I was a virgin,” the onetime Danity Kane singer confesses on the show, which also features former baseball captain Donald Trump and Nick Cannon. “I was very scared of boys. I was very insecure about my body and I thought anything sexual was disgusting.” While it may be hard for fans to believe that O’Day, who regularly poses wearing very little in photo shoots and very openly discusses her bisexual love life, was a prude in high school, her friend Melissa confirms that she was in fact kind of a sexual wallflower, explaining, “I think the idea of sex just kind of freaked her out.” O’Day was apparently so scared of boys that her friends weren’t even sure if she liked them at all. And forget about having a discussion with O’Day about sex — that was even weirder for her. “I’d get, like, creeped out if I even heard my friends talking about it, and all my friends were having sex,” she explained. “And I was just the one that didn’t ever have a boyfriend. People probably thought I was a lesbian.” “When I Was 17” — this week featuring Donald Trump, Nick Cannon and Aubrey O’Day — airs Saturday at 11 a.m. on MTV. MTV Movie Awards Host Aziz Ansari Planning Plenty ‘Avatar,’ ‘New Moon’ Jokes

‘You never know what Aziz is going to throw in there,’ host’s writing team tells MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena Aziz Ansari Photo: Kevin Winter/Getty Images UNIVERSAL CITY, California — Nothing is sacred anymore, including fan favorites “New Moon” and “Avatar,” which are tied for five nominations each at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards . The writing team working with Aziz Ansari said anything can happen once the “wild card” host hits the stage. “There’s a lot of things we can’t make jokes about,” writer Mike Mitchell told MTV News backstage at the Gibson Amphitheatre, during a break from writing for the show. “You never want to be too mean.” But, as his colleague Dave Ferguson added: “You never know what Aziz is going to throw in there.” Already planned and on the docket are jokes and moments that are “super political this year,” fellow writer Chelsea Peretti added: “So a lot of that and then some crazy dancing.” While she might not have been referring to the epic “New Moon” vs. “Avatar” battle , that too seems pretty political. So where does the crew of Movie Awards writers stand on the issue? “I’m gonna go with ‘New Moon,’ ” Peretti said. “I love it! I’m sorry, everyone.” In a battle of the sexes, her male colleagues all picked “Avatar,” which they teased would be very well-represented in the show’s jokes. Mitchell had a whole other team he wanted to join: “I’m on Aziz’s team!” There is one moment the writers teased that they think fans will really enjoy, aside from RPattz and KStew sightings. “I think there’s a reunion of sorts on the show; I think I can say that. … [A] ‘Cosby Show’ reunion,” Mitchell joked, before really sharing: “There’s an MTV reunion of sorts I believe on the show as well. Is that too much to say?” Don’t miss the live red-carpet coverage, exclusive movie clips and fist-pumping action on MTV News’ “Jersey Shore Blow-Out at the MTV Movie Awards,” airing live from Los Angeles this Sunday, June 6, at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
