By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Jackson Rathbone Photo: MTV News UNIVERSAL CITY, California — On Sunday night at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards , the cast of “Twilight” picked up a few more Golden Popcorn trophies to add to their collective mantle. In addition to winning Movie of the Year, they also won Best Kiss , marking fourth time the series has won in both categories. “A little tired, a little surprised, honored to be up there with [presenter] Jodie Foster and honored to be in the ranking with a lot of amazing films this year,” Jackson Rathbone told MTV News. “So thank you very much, world.” Given who they were up against in the Movie of the Year category, including “The Hunger Games,” co-star Julia Jones actually wasn’t sure they could win again. “There’s a lot of competition this year, and I think for the first time I was like ‘I don’t know.’ There’s some really amazingly large franchises now,” she said. “And I guess we’re still winning.” Rathbone added, “As we’re wrapping up, to have so much love still and you gave us a four-peat, so thank you. That’s something that not a lot of people can say.” BooBoo Stewart went on to describe how “incredible” it felt to take the stage to accept the award. “Just to be up on that stage accepting an award, in front of everybody and feeling the love from the fans was really cool.” Nikki Reed said what was even more incredible was having Foster hand them the prize. “She put her hand out after we walked offstage and I just ‘Oh my god, it’s a real honor.’ ” Jaw-dropping, heart-pounding, gut-busting moments galore. Justin Bieber Kicks It Old-School For ‘Die In Your Arms’

By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber on his “Believe” album cover Photo: Justin Bieber/ Twitter Justin Bieber ‘s new single “Die in Your Arms” is full of funky beats, Motown harmonies and good old-fashioned romantic longing. Produced by Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, Bieber just wants to make the apple of his eye believe he loves her so much that he’d rather die in her arms than be away from her for too long. The song’s vintage swing, finger snaps and melodies certainly recall the heyday of feel-good R&B from the 1960s, which is mirrored in the song’s sentiment. On the chorus, Bieber sings, “Honestly, the truth is, if I could just die in your arms/ I wouldn’t mind/ ‘Cause every time you touch me/ I just die in your arms/ It feels so right/ So baby, baby, baby, please don’t stop girl.” In keeping with the song’s vintage feel, at one point, he breaks from singing to say, “Oh, baby, I know loving you ain’t easy, but it sure is worth a try.” “Die” is the follow-up to the more pop-‘n’-b-leaning “Boyfriend,” which he dropped back in March. Last week he dropped a remix to the song , featuring 2 Chainz, Mac Miller and Asher Roth, which certainly ups the song’s hip-hop ante quite a bit. “And we can be like Selena and Biebs/ Wild and free, a couple disobedient teens/ Sneaking out to meet like two o’ clock in the eve/ Paparazzi ain’t a problem, we just hide on the beach,” Roth spits on the track. Bieber is currently abroad promoting his June 19 album release, Believe , amid allegations he got into a scuffle with a paparazzo over the weekend while out in Los Angeles with girlfriend Selena Gomez. “i hope when you guys hear #BELIEVE you finally understand how i feel about you. I appreciate and love you. this is about us. thank you,” he tweeted over the weekend about the album release, shortly after news broke of the fray with the photographer. She eventually left when she realized that her life as a celebrity was very different than that of the other students there. “I was in denial,” Watson told Britain’s in 2011 shortly after deciding to leave . “I wanted to pretend I wasn’t as famous as I was. One Direction Has Seen Their ‘Biggest Audience’ Ever On U.S. Tour

British boy band talks to MTV News about their ‘incredible’ Stateside tour experience and their ‘Up All Night’ DVD dropping Tuesday. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Josh Wigler One Direction Photo: Getty Images One Direction are in the first week of their headlining U.S. tour . And, according to the guys themselves, they’ve gotten as much love from fans in the States as they did abroad. “[It’s going] good, great,” Louis Tomlinson explained to MTV News. “We did the first show [Tuesday and] it was amazing.” Liam Payne still hasn’t gotten over the scope of the shows they are playing here in the States, adding, “[It’s] incredible. It’s the biggest show we’ve done as a band so far, biggest audience for our own tour. So, it’s amazing, absolutely amazing, incredible.” For fans who weren’t able to nab tickets to the show, or have seen it and want to relive it, the band will drop their concert DVD , “Up All Night: The Live Tour” on Tuesday. And, Niall Horan explained how it all came together. “It was a show of our U.K. tour we did in January and we shot one of the shows for people who couldn’t get tickets to the show,” he said. “And we’re actually touring that show now in the U.S., so everyone’s going to get to see it at some stage.” “Up All Night: The Live Tour” is 73 minutes of 1D goodness, filled with campfire sing-alongs, quick shots of the guys shirtless during costume changes and even the fellas all done up in sleek suits as they close out the show with “I Want.” Once the band wraps up their tour here in July, One Direction will come back to the States in 2013 as a part of their massive world tour . John Mayer really is putting his “Shadow Days” behind him. After being a bit too candid in interviews back in 2010, where he frequently talked about his sex life and exes, Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Simpson, the singer decided he needed to step back from the spotlight. With a week until he drops his new album, Born and Raised, the singer/songwriter sat with Ellen DeGeneres for a now-rare interview airing Tuesday. video platform video management video solutions video player “It was a very strange time and it sort of rocketed me into adulthood. It was a violent crash into being an adult,” Mayer told DeGeneres of his “TMI” era, per Usmagazine.com . “For a couple of years, it was just figuring it all out, and I’m glad I actually stayed out of the spotlight. Because I think back then I would’ve said, ‘Give me two weeks or let me get out and do ‘Ellen’ and let me explain myself.’ It was like, ‘No, idiot. Go away and be 33 and 34 instead of 28 for the fourth year.’ ” He added that he needed a break from the publicity and “had to go home for a minute… I just sort of lost my head for a little while.” With a new album on the horizon, Mayer is also dealing with some lingering vocal-cord issues, which caused him to cancel his spring tour and scale back on album promotion. “They cut this thing out of your throat and then they inject your vocal cords with Botox, which freezes your vocal cords so that this thing can heal without smacking up against the other side. I just need more Botox next time,” he explained. “It’s not a health concern whatsoever, but it has taken me out of singing. LMFAO Enlist ‘Little Sister’ Eva Simons For Party Rocking Tour

By Jocelyn Vena Eva Simons Photo: MTV News LMFAO has enlisted some hardcore party rockers for their Sorry for the Party Rocking Tour kicking off on Tuesday (May 22) in Columbus, Ohio. With the likes of Far East Movement , the Quest Crew, Sidney Samson and Natalia Kills all ready to rock out each night of the 26-date trek, fellow tourmate Eva Simons is excited to be hitting the road with her “big brothers,” SkyBlu and Redfoo. “I’m kind of like their sister, that’s the feeling I got,” she told MTV News. “They’re still like, we have jokes, but they’re still very like protective and they’re cool guys. They work, they’re fun, but in the end we all just really normal people that also want to have a good time.” While the guys of LMFAO may seem like zebra-pants-wearing party dudes, it’s all really a persona crafted in order to come up with all their chart-topping jams. “You know, everybody’s always saying when there’s a party song out, ‘I can write that song.’ Well, can you? Try it! It’s not that easy,” she said. “You have to really know what’s going on, and they know what’s going on because they’re always in the clubs. They’re always on tour and I think that’s something you should be doing as an artist nowadays. [You have to] know what’s going on in the streets [or] what are you trying to sell us? Some fake story? People don’t want to hear no fake story. People want to hear what’s real, organic.” So, has she ever been sorry for any of her party rocking? She laughed, “Oh, yeah, yes, I have those moments. I’ve had those moments I will not discuss.” Fellow party rockers Far East Movement recently shared they have equally high hopes for the jaunt . “There’s going to be a little bit of wiggling going on,” Kev Nish told MTV News. “There’s gonna be shuffling, booty popping, a lot of movement. That’s what both crews like to do. Big shout-out to [LMFAO’s] Redfoo and the Party Rock Crew and [our label] Cherry Tree, really, for putting this all together.” In addition to wiggling their way through Columbus on Tuesday, LMFAO and crew will be partying all around the country, including stops in Seattle, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Miami. By Jocelyn Vena Pauly D Photo: WireImage After putting to bed his feud with Madonna , it seems EDM star deadmau5 is embroiled in a new Twitter beef, this time with MTV’s own DJ Pauly D . It all began when Pauly posted a link to his new music video for the track “Night of My Life.” He asked his fans, followers and Twitter in general, “So how do you like the video?” Mau5 apparently checked it out and didn’t like what he saw. “Well since you asked,” deadmau5 tweeted , “I didn’t really enjoy it. it looked like it cost about $150 to make, and nothing really creative about it.” @ DJPaulyD well since you asked, i didn’t really enjoy it. it looked like it cost about $150 to make, and nothing really creative about it. — deadmau5 (@deadmau5) May 17, 2012 For those wondering what made Mau5 so mad, the video’s concept is pretty simple and by all standards, pretty innocuous. It plays out almost like a mini-episode of Pauly’s MTV show, “The Pauly D Project,” following him from gig to gig, confetti and champagne flying everywhere. It also features some behind-the-scenes moments, including the “Jersey Shore” star hanging with his pals and meeting fans. Pauly didn’t let the jab go, but did offer up a little quip to answer his fellow DJ’s dig. He tweeted, “T-Shirt $40 Jeans $120 Hair Gel $12 Being Hated On By deadmau5#Priceless.” Like any good feud, it didn’t end there. Dead’s response? “hating? the f—? you clearly don’t know me enough if you thought that was ‘hating’. was just some friendly-ish advice.” Things continued to escalate on Dead’s side, with him tweeting responses including, “i’ll just leave it at: ‘Don’t blame your failure on haters. If everyone thinks you suck, they’re not haters, they’re right.’ – Daniel Tosh,” and in response to a fan, he added, “nah, i just thought it was a piece of sh–, in short. typical bottlepopping playpressing garbage im sure everyones sick of.” “Well, now that Jersey (and quite possibly the rest of the eastern seaboard) ‘came at me bro’ i guess its time for bed soon,” Deadmau5 added before asking where Snooki is and then resigning, “im kidding. that was a joke. sorry.” With Deadmau5 seemingly over the whole thing, Pauly pondered, “Wonder If I Could Get @Deadmau5 To DJ My Birthday ?? Britney Spears Calls ‘X Factor’ A ‘Beautiful Concept’

Reid, Demi Lovato, Simon Cowell and Britney Spears at the FOX Upfront Photo: Desiree Navarro/ Getty Images Britney Spears seems poised and ready to sit beside her fellow “X Factor” judges on the revamped second season of the show . At the Fox upfront this week, the singer appeared alongside fellow newbie Demi Lovato , as well as returning judges Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid, and gushed about the Fox reality show. “Just really being able to be there and inspire the other contestants … they’re so young and they’re trying to fulfill their dreams,” she said at the event. “It’s just a whole beautiful concept. It’s just really cool.” While her negotiations with the show had been making headlines in the weeks leading up to the official announcement, Cowell brushed off all the hoopla, which includes a rumored $15 million payday for joining the show. “A force of nature, I was somewhere in the middle, but I’m thrilled. I love these guys,” he said of getting everyone, including Spears, on board. “I charmed her.” Spears seemed equally taken with the prickly Brit. “He’s adorable. He’s completely adorable. He didn’t have to try hard,” she admitted. Spears’ addition to the show is hardly the only casting making news: Lovato also opened up about having the “X Factor.” While little is known about the final hours going into locking Lovato in for the show, she’s rumored to be taking in $1 million, according to Gossip Cop . Lovato was on a short list of possible contenders to appear on the show that also reportedly included Miley Cyrus and Avril Lavigne. “I’m so excited to be here,” she said. “I guess you called,” she added with Simon by her side. “And that’s how it got set up, just a phone call.” In addition to getting warm and fuzzy about each other in the interview, Cowell shared that the judges will be filming in the next couple weeks when they hit up Austin, Texas, to begin scoping out talent. And if you think the claws might come out then, Reid assured viewers that that won’t be the case. “Oh no, we’re gonna be really sweet to each other,” he said. “Nothing controversial. Usher Sought ‘Creative Way’ To Debut Looking 4 Myself

Singer will open up about his appearance in the off-Broadway show ‘Fuerza Bruta,’ as well his new album, during ‘MTV First’ on Wednesday. By Jocelyn Vena Usher’s Looking 4 Myself cover art Photo: RCA Sure, anyone can hold an album-listening party at some record label’s headquarters or, to really mix it up, some swanky nightclub. But for Usher , that just wasn’t enough. When he was looking for a way to debut tracks off Looking 4 Myself , out June 12, he found another way to spread the word. Last month, Usher appeared in the off-Broadway show “Fuerza Bruta,” in which he played the male lead, Running Man, for one night only. During the show, he played all his newest, shiniest tracks for lucky theatergoers. When MTV News spoke to him exclusively during rehearsals, he explained that his part in “Fuerza” provided the perfect pairing between the themes on his album and the visuals of the play. “I mean, life is like that in a lot of ways. This was something that I organically came to,” he explained. “When you think about the lyrics of ‘Climax,’ ‘Going nowhere fast/ We reached the climax’ … ‘Going nowhere fast’ would be running in place,” he explained, referring to a part in the show where he runs on a treadmill, never actually ending up anywhere. ” Looking 4 Myself, I’m walking with my head down, counting every step,” he explained, referring to another act in the show. “I’m always trying to find very creative ways for the music and the art to work together and this is it. I only hoped it would be viewed in that way, in an unprecedented way. I hoped that people would be able to identify with it and become acclimated with my experience in a fun way, creative. This was kind of an emotional experience that leads you into my world.” Usher has even more to share about his experience in the show as well as his highly anticipated album release. He will open up during “MTV First: Usher,” set to take place on Wednesday, May 16, at 7:54 p.m. ET on MTV. He will introduce exclusive footage from “Fuerza Bruta” and his new single, the Pharrell-produced “Twisted,” and will stick around for an interview with MTV News’ Sway Calloway to discuss it all on MTV.com afterward.
