Juan Pablo Galavis Responds to Criticism, Insists He Takes The Bachelor Seriously

Juan Pablo Galavis has been under siege for what feels like … the entire Season 18 of The Bachelor. Ever since he was cast, things went downhill. The negativity that started when he made anti-gay comments regarding the possibility of a same-sex Bachelor really snowballed in recent weeks, however. Sharleen Joynt peaced out of the series, followed by Andi Dorfman , whose epic dumping of Juan Pablo turned the tables and caused quite a stir. Then Monday’s Women Tell All episode aired, and everybody just kept piling it on. How does El Bachelor respond, now that he has his say? Let’s find out. “I think to understand the women I have to take a step back and remember it’s not easy facing rejection,” he says in his weekly People blog . “Before I talk about specifics, I want to write about how it can be difficult when you’re the Bachelor,” he adds, to which Andi is no doubt rolling her eyes. “It isn’t easy to remember all of the conversations or the questions that I ask, but I always tried my best and I wish that the women recognized that.” “I understand it’s a very hard situation, but … the women I had a better connection and attraction with are the ones that I felt fit more into what I was looking for.” “I understood why Kelly wanted an explanation about my gay comments because during my adventure we had talked openly about her father,” he went on. “I told Kelly that I would love to have an hourlong chat with her so that she can better understand what was misinterpreted and what my views are.” The Bachelor Season 18 Finale Preview “I also want to understand her views and experiences. Juan Pablo Galavis to Andi Dorfman: Stop Putting Words in My Mouth!

Juan Pablo Galavis is responding, via his weekly blog, to the shocking exit of contestant Andi Dorfman on Monday night’s episode of ABC’s The Bachelor. While Juan Pablo told the cameras that he had a great time on all three of his overnight dates, Andi was singing a much different tune in the morning. On The Bachelor Season 18 Episode 9 , she called their date “a nightmare” and a “disaster,” accusing El Bachelor of not having feelings and being “inappropriate.” The Bachelor Clip – What’s My Religion?! Andi Dorfman called him out for talking about himself all the time, not making an effort to really know her and for always playing the “language barrier” card. It was pretty epic. Now Juan Pablo is sharing his side of the story. “Andi had a hard time adjusting to this experience because she wasn’t in control, and I understood how she felt,” Juan Pablo says following her exit. However, he’s not happy that she’s “putting words in his mouth.” Specifically, “She put words in my mouth by saying that I used the word ‘default.’” “It was because of her comments in Atlanta about wanting badly to fall in love that I almost [took] Renee instead of her, but I followed my heart and feelings instead.” “I don’t know that word much,” he said of “default.” “It’s not in my vocabulary.” Instead Juan Pablo said he was more likely to say “you barely made it here.” As for Andi claiming that Juan Pablo didn’t know anything about her? “I have to say that I know her as much as she knew me,” he said. What color she likes?” “If religion was very important to one of the girls, I believe she would have told me. In Andi’s case, she didn’t, so I guess it was not that important to her.” Andi was upset Juan Pablo didn’t know what her religion was. When he asked her what his religion is, she left him speechless by responding immediately “Catholic” Galavis says he respects Dorfman’s honesty, and was sad they broke up; however the argument with her “killed it” for him and left him disappointed. “The only thing I can say is that I take this process way more seriously than anyone on the other side,” he insisted, not really saying what the “other side” is. In any case – by DEFAULT – Nikki Ferrell and Clare Crawley will vie for the final rose and probably not get engaged to Juan Pablo on Monday, March 10. Who will win? Tonight on The Bachelor Season 18 Episode 9, what happens in the Fantasy Suite doesn’t stay in the Fantasy Suite. And whatever it is goes horribly wrong. Juan Pablo met the families of the four remaining ladies during Monday night’s hometown dates, gave Renee Oteri the pink slip and moved on to St. Lucia. The overnight dates are typically a deal-breaker on the ABC reality series, but never before have we seen anything like what’s being teased in this promo: The Bachelor Season 18 Episode 9 Promo The Bachelor spoilers have hinted all winter long that there’s drama in store for fans when we hit St. Lucia, and this teaser would certainly attest to that: Clare Crawley and Nikki Ferrell appear to be loving life with Juan Pablo Andi Dorfman appears to be in the exact opposite boat and freaks out Nikki is seen crying too, but that looks like the work of clever editing It’s almost accepted that Andi Dorfman bounces, based on this and offhand comments from Chris Harrison about Clare and Nikki on the After the Final Rose special. Not before calling him “immature, rude and inappropriate,” though. “There’s a difference between being honest and being and a–hole,” she allegedly proclaims, becoming the second contestant to dump JPG thus far. Sharleen Joynt did the honors before hometowns. Now Andi? We’ll have to wait and see how The Bachelor Season 18 Episode 9 shakes out in a matter of hours, but it sounds like things are gonna get ugly, fast. Nikki Farrell: The Bachelor Frontrunner Already?

The Bachelor’s 18th season on ABC is just a few episodes old, but already, one Bachelorette looks to be rising to the top of the competition: Nikki Farrell. To those avid readers of The Bachelor spoilers , this is not surprising. We won’t give away too much here, but you can follow the link to learn more. What we will say is that she’s not getting sent home anytime soon, which should be obvious if you’ve observed how she makes Juan Pablo Galavis swoon. Juan Pablo’s reception of her during the season premiere ( watch The Bachelor online to see that and the next two episodes) appeared to set the tone. The 26-year-old, blonde Missouri native, a pediatric nurse and part-time model, did not secure the first impression rose, she was noticed for sure. Nikki Farrell presented him with a stethoscope so that he could “hear how nervous and excited she was.” JPG was excited too, not-so-subtly feeling her up. In each of the next two weeks, she’s won the group date rose, no doubt sparking jealousy among the rest of the women … and that’s only the beginning. Soothsayer Reality Steve suggests that Farrell may just turn out to be the “villain” – the least liked woman in the house on Season 18 of The Bachelor . If she also won the final rose, it would make her a member of an exclusive club with the likes of Vienna Girardi, Shayne Lamas and Courtney Robertson. None of whom stayed engaged to The Bachelor , it’s worth noting. It remains to be seen if Nikki Farrell makes it all the way, or whether she (or whomever wins this season) stays together with Juan Pablo Galavis . We would have to bet against that, if only because of statistics. The track record just isn’t good, despite a recent uptick. Emily Maynard and Jef Holm Emily Maynard and Jef Holm broke up really fast. She chose Jef with one F over Sean Lowe on The Bachelorette. Bad call. 9. Ali Fedotowsky and Roberto Martinez Ali Fedotowsky and Roberto Martinez dated for a long while. They didn’t last, however. 10. Jillian Harris and Ed Swiderski Jillian Harris and Ed Swiderski’s engagement was short-lived. She’s better off for it. 11. Jesse Csincsak and Deanna Pappas Jesse Csincsak and Deanna Pappas got engaged after The Bachelorette chose him over Jason Mesnick. Did not take. 12. Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter have been together so long, we forget that she was ever not Mrs. Ryan Sutter. They have been married for a decade and have two kids!

Juan Pablo Apologizes for Anti-Gay Remarks, Blames Language Barrier

Juan Pablo Galavis has issued an apology for remarks he made today in regard to the possibility of a gay Bachelor on ABC. When asked in an interview if the network should ever center a season around a homosexual single man, the Season 18 hunt said no… that would not be a “good example” for viewers. Juan Pablo later added that gay people are “more pervert in a sense” and the show would be “too strong” if they were involved. In a long Facebook post, however, the Bachelor has backtracked and tried to explain the remarks. “I want to apologize to all the people I may have offended because of my comments on having a Gay or Bisexual Bachelor. The comment was taken out of context. If you listen to the entire interview, there’s nothing but respect for Gay people and their families. “I have many gay friends and one of my closest friends who’s like a brother has been a constant in my life especially during the past 5 months.” 9 Hottest Bachelors in ABC History Open Slideshow 1. In short, he’s pretty much a “man slut.” So these pedestrians told a special reporter for Jimmy Kimmel Live this week when he asked them for their thoughts on the show in general and Juan Pablo Galavis in particular. But there was something important this intrepid reporter did NOT reveal: he’s Juan Pablo Galavis! The Bachelor Recap: Aboard the Crazy Train

ABC taught us a very valuable lesson on Episode 2 of The Bachelor Season 18. Or, rather, Victoria taught us the valuable lesson. Nice and sauced during a group photo shoot for Best Friends Animal Society, the aspiring wife had a few too many and drunkenly said of the show’s sizzling star: “This is how I am sober. If Juan Pablo is mine, I’m going to straddle him everyday. ‘Cause life is about straddling. People and things.” Watch The Bachelor Season 2 Episode 18 Online Oh, but Victoria’s antics didn’t end there: she locked herself in a bathroom and demanded to leave the series, forcing Juan Pablo to ask the other women to make sure she made it home safely. The next day, Victoria admitted she “set off the crazy train” and that she likely drank too much. We say she didn’t drink enough ! Who knows what else would have gone down?!? She also said at one point that she gave Juan Pablo “the hymen maneuver.” Gosh, Victoria’s the best. Sadly, she didn’t even make it to the cocktail party, as Juan Pablo sent her pacing at the conclusion of their visit. Amy, the reporters, and Chantel, an accountant, were also eliminated. The Hottest Bachelors of All-Time On the more encouraging front, it’s clear Juan Pablo is very interested in Nikki (the nurse). Another frontrunner seems to be Clare, who enjoyed the honor of the season’s first one-on-one date AND first kiss. Andi also played her cards well, expressing awkwardness as getting undressed and prompting Juan Pablo to make her feel better by doing so himself. Nice! Hot! Very hot, in fact! And, finally, we had Cassandra, who also swapped some spit with The Bachelor… in front of the other women, no less. What did you think of the second installment? Of Victoria’s behavior? The Hispanic hottie made his official debut on The Bachelor premiere Monday night, capturing the heart of millions of viewers and 27 aspiring wives on screen. And that was before Juan Pablo posted a video of himself lip-syncing to One Direction on Instagram, smiling and bopping around while driving and listening to “Story of My Life.” It’s downright adorable. The Bachelor Season Premiere: Juan Shining Moment

On a special Sunday night Countdown to The Bachelor Season 18, ABC introduced viewers to Juan Pablo Galavis . And while we saw him playing shirtless beach volleyball, acting like a sports and entertainment consultant and hanging with daughter Camila on last night’s official premiere, let’s face it: The opening episode each season is always about the totally insane ladies. Let’s break down the best and the worst potential suitors, as the Bachelor took them Juan at a time at the premiere cocktail party… Chelsie is a blonde science “educator,” meaning she works at a museum. She tries to impress Juan by speaking Spanish. Renee is 32, one of the oldest contestants out there. She has an eight-year old son Ben. Single parents unite? Andi has a major ponytail and works as a lawyer in Atlanta. She’s not happy that she has to compete with other women. Amy feeds Juan some eggs, is 31 and works as a massage therapist in Los Angeles. She makes weird facial expressions. Nikki , 26, is a blonde pediatric nurse who included babies in her pre-taped intro. Strong move there. Lauren H is a “mineral coordinator,” whatever that means. She was dumped by her fiancé after six weeks. Valerie says she is a “pretty girl” and a personal trailer. We’re not sure how pretty she really is. Lacy has a nice smile and solid breasts. She’s all about her special needs relatives and takes care of the elderly and is way too perfect to win. Clare is 32 and part Mexican. Her dead father recorded a DVD message to her future husband. Christy is a “police support specialist.” This may be our favorite made-up occupation of anyone there. Cassandra , a former NBA dancer, goes totally silent during her first meeting with Juan. Well… Nikki pulled out a stethoscope to check Juan’s heart rate… and to have him nestle his hand in her cleavage. Lucy dons a flower headband, a dress made from an ace bandage and white satin sheets and no shoes. She calls herself a “free spirit.” Lauren S. pedals a piano on wheels up the driveway. Maggie offers Juan a fishing hook and the line: “I just really hope you’re gonna be the big catch that I’ve been waitin’ for!” Kelly brings her dog to the shindig. Andi leaves the Bachelor the most flummoxed, as he utters multiple “Wows” during her limo exit. One contestant says “Give me three shots of Patron and I’ll be topless” and another says she hopes Juan Pablo dies. So, who will actually be moving ahead on this journey with Juan?
