Guess Which Rapper’s Baby Mama Is Putting His Dysfunction On Full VH1 Blast Next???

When we spoke to Olivia a couple of weeks ago, she mentioned a new addition to the “Love & Hip-Hop” cast. Today, we know who she is and it actually makes a lot of sense when you think of the rest of the cast. Do you know who’s BM is going to be cashing in those reality checks next? Juelz Santana’s girlfriend Kimbella, who is also the mother of his 10-month-old son, will be the newest cast member to join VH1′s top rated reality show “Love & Hip Hop” a source told AllHipHop.com. Juelz met the model and mother of two on the social networking site Twitter and the two have been inseparable ever since. Kimbella, who is currently on the cover of Black Men Magazine’s June issue along with Keyshia Dior and Charm Killings, will be branching out to expand her career into acting and music. Kimbella discussed her career in a previous interview with AllHipHop.com, conducted prior to her being cast in the reality show. “I’m trying to transition into acting and singing,” Kimbella told AllHipHop.com. “I’m launching my pop career and as we speak I’m recording in the studio. My sound is definitely not Beyonce, but more of a Fergie, Rihanna type sound.” Oh boy. At least these two seem to have a pretty drama free relationship. Flip through for more pics of Juelz and Kimbella all bunned up and their little bundle of joy.

Juelz Santana Calls Drug Charges Against Him ‘Preposterous’

‘I got a Phantom and a Bentley outside of my studio; I’m not selling dime bags,’ Dipset MC said about raid of his studio, on ‘RapFix Live.’ By Rob Markman, with Sway Calloway Juelz Santana Photo: MTV News When the Diplomats stopped by MTV News’ “RapFix Live” back in January, the quartet arrived … as a threesome. So when Sway asked about the absent Juelz Santana , Dipset leader Cam’ron had an explanation. “He was on his way, but he had some type of allergic reaction on his face,” he said, adding that Juelz had eaten something that didn’t agree with him. Cam was quick with a cover-up but as fans soon learned, it wasn’t a rash, but a police raid on his Bergen County, New Jersey, studio that kept Santana from the Dipset crew’s first appearance on our live stream. And when the Harlem rapper finally sat on the “RapFix” couch on Wednesday, he set the record straight about what happened that day. “For those who don’t know, my studio got raided, to make a long story short. I wasn’t there, I wasn’t present. One of my artists was there — shout-out to my boy Hynief — he was in the building,” Santana said , referring to the friend/MC who was arrested during the raid. “They raided the studio and in the process of raiding the studio they allegedly said they found some firearms. Once again, I wasn’t there, I wasn’t present, it’s a studio.” The raid turned up two handguns, drug paraphernalia and 17 Ziploc bags containing “a greenish brown vegetation consistent with the appearance of marijuana,” according to police reports. Santana was later arrested on February 2 and charged with four counts of narcotic and weapon offenses in connection with the raid, which came as a result of a 10-month-long investigation of the studio by the Bergenfield Police Department. “My name is the biggest so of course they are going to target me as the one to put a lot of the blame on,” the Harlem MC said. “I had no clue on what’s going on, I rent the studio out to people. That’s like if I rent the studio out right now to somebody and they choose to bring whoever they want to bring in to the studio. They rented the studio out; I have no knowledge of what’s going on until I come back and your [rental] time is finished.” Juelz also elaborated on his own charges with Sway. “They charged me with the firearms,” he said. “They didn’t charge me with trying to sell, but they put out a statement making it seem like I was selling weed out of my studio, which is preposterous. Dime bags? I got a phantom and a Bentley outside of my studio; I’m not selling dime bags. That sh– is just crazy.” Despite his troubles, Santana seemed to be in good spirits and assured fans his lawyer was still sorting out the legalities. Lil B Unveils I’m Gay Album Cover

‘I just wanted to make this to show words don’t mean anything,’ B tells MTV News of polarizing title. By Rob Markman Lil B I’m Gay cover art Photo: Amalgam Digital Lil B is proud to be gay — or rather he’s proud to be happy, as stated on his new album cover, which he revealed Wednesday (June 15) exclusively on “RapFix Live.” After announcing that he will be titling his next album I’m Gay, the Based God received criticism from the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation and other rappers and even got death threats from fans . But despite all the hoopla, B’s album isn’t quite as alarming as many suspected it would be. The cover — which was done by the “Wonton Soup” rapper’s artist friend Uncle Grumpy — was made from scratch but based off of a 1970s Ernie Barnes painting titled “Sugar Shack.” The famous painting was used in the popular ’70s sitcom “Good Times” and as the album cover to Marvin Gaye’s 1976 album I Want You. Rap group Camp Lo also threw a nod to the classic work on their 1997 debut Uptown Saturday Night. The Based God, however, put a 2011 spin on the painting, which depicted a club scene that reflected one of Barnes’ childhood experiences. B took the painting and broke it down into three parts, showing the steps that people need to take to reach “mental freedom.” “Pretty much the album cover, you see it’s the three sides of the slavery, mental slavery and mental freedom at the ending where everybody is happy,” B said to MTV News. “The reason why I did the I’m Gay album, I really seen that the hip-hop community is being very close-minded and very hateful, very violent.” The Berkeley, California, rapper feels that his polarizing album title will help take the sting out of the word “gay” and eventually lead to global acceptance. “People use evil words, money, separation, stuff like that. I just wanted to make this to show words don’t mean anything,” he said. What do you think of B’s album cover? Let us know in the comments! Juelz Santana To Appear On ‘RapFix Live’ Wednesday

After missing the Diplomats’ ‘RapFix’ visit due to legal drama, Juelz will sit down with Sway on Wednesday at 4 p.m. on MTV.com. By Alvin Blanco Juelz Santana Photo: John Ricard/FilmMagic Harlem is coming to MTV News this Wednesday, when Juelz Santana visits “RapFix Live.” The flashy member of the reunited Diplomats was AWOL when Cam’ron, Jim Jones and Frekey Zekey sat down with Sway Calloway back in January, but Juelz will get a chance to discuss what he and the Dipset have cooking on the “RapFix” couch. Juelz has been laying relatively low lately but will have plenty to discuss. In February, the “Mic Check” rapper was arrested on marijuana and weapons charges stemming from a raid of his New Jersey studios by authorities. Dealing with the ramifications of those legal entanglements — rapper Hynief, a member of Juelz’s Skull Gang crew, was also arrested — is one of the reasons Juelz wasn’t present when the Diplomats were on “RapFix Live.” With his legal troubles in the rearview, Juelz will also be discussing his forthcoming new album, Born to Lose, Built to Win. The Diplomats also have a new project on the way, which will be released via Interscope Records , according to various members. MTV News will be sure to ask for updates on the status of I Can’t Feel My Face, Juelz’s long-in-the-works collaborative album with Lil Wayne, and his status with Def Jam Records. You can also expect Juelz, who last weekend hit Hot 97’s Summer Jam stage with Lloyd Banks and with the Diplomats , to a spit a hot 16 before concluding his visit. There is no telling what is going to go down on this week’s episode of “RapFix Live”! Visit MTV.com on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET to watch Juelz Santana on “RapFix Live”!

Top Ten Quincy Jones Samples

Originally posted here:

If you’re in the entertainment business, in any fashion, it’s safe to say Quincy Jones has had some influence on you. From creating some of the most memorable music in history to founding one of hip hop’s most loved magazines, Quincy Jones has done it all. WBW: Samples of History: Hip-Hop Mines Afrobeat In celebration of his upcoming birthday (March 14th), we decided to dish out the Top Ten Quincy Jones samples in hip hop songs. 10. Jodeci – Get On Up When Jodeci released their third single from ‘The Show, The After Party, The Hotel’, many didn’t catch the portion of Quincy’s 1981 track, “Velas,” a single off of the landmark album, ‘The Dude.’ Dalvin Degrate used the harmonica solo and other minor quirks of Jones’ jazz groove to make “Get On Up” sound richer. Anchored by a funky bassline and knocking drums, “Get On Up” helped Jodeci go platinum in a mere two months in 1995. Get On Up Velas 9. Jurassic 5 – Improvise Jurassic 5 broke on the scene in 1997 as the group bringing back true school hip hop. As the second single from their debut EP, “Improvise” mixed samples from Albino Gorilla and our man, Q. Quincy’s theme song for the 1972 comic caper film, The Hot Rock, was jacked. The group’s understated use of this old theme song proved they were trying to move into the future without losing sight of the past. Improvise: Hot Rock Theme: 8. The Roots – Clones The album, ‘Illadelph Halflife,’ was a departure for the crew from Philly. They went for a darker sounding record than ‘Illadelph’s’ predecessors. “Clones” served as The Roots’ first appearance in the top five of the hip hop charts back in ’96. Ahmir “?uestlove” Thompson transformed a sexy jazz number evoking the feeling of July in New York City into an ill rap tune about not conforming to society’s images and remaining your true self. Clones Summer In The City 7. 2Pac ft. K-ci & JoJo – How Do U Want It 2Pac has always had the talent of smoothly injecting serious statements into fun party songs. On his number one single, “How Do U Want It,” Pac lays the smack down on C. Deloris Tucker, while trying to get into shortie’s cut off jean shorts. Producer, Johnny J , flipped Quincy’s 1974 bedroom jam, “Body Heat,” into a salacious tune for wannabe macks approaching women in the club. Listen to these two records and you’ll see why women would rather be with an old school mack than these new age “pimps.” How Do U Want It Body Heat 6. LL Cool J ft. Boyz II Men – Hey Lover Jones’ personal recordings haven’t been the only tracks sampled from his vast catalouge. His collaborations with Michael Jackson have been sampled a fair share of times. One of the most memorable is Uncle L’s ode to crushes. The Trackmasters lifted and looped the introduction of Quincy and MJ’s romantic, “The Lady In My Life,” to continue on with LL’s rap Lothario persona. Boyz II Men add smoothed out vocals to every around the way girl’s favorite summer love song. Hey Lover Lady In My Life 5. Juelz Santana – Mic Check Juelz Santana has never lacked confidence. When he dropped his second album, he crowned himself as what the game was missing. Back with avengance, Santana needed an anthem to match the aggression he was coming with. Neo Da Matrix added Quincy’s theme from the “Roots” mini-series so fans and other rappers knew how hard Juelz was coming. He might have sold the least, but he managed to be most feared by most emcees. See what a Quincy Jones sample and a little aggression will do for you? Mic Check Roots Mural Theme 4. Kanye West ft. T-Pain – Good Life Chicago’s native son is no stranger to sampling. The Louie Vuitton Don borrowed a few portions of Jones’ work on the Thriller jam, “P.Y.T.” If you listen closely, you can hear Michael Jackson in the background cooing,”Aww, baby.” The fact Kanye made it on this list is laugh worthy, considering the founder of Vibe Magazine dissed Mr. West by saying he was “just a rapper.” Quincy, tell us what’s good. Why ‘Ye only got a problem when you in the hood? Good Life P.Y.T. 3. Ludacris – #1 Spot Ludacris is consistently one of the most underrated emcees in the game. His 2004 album, The Red Light district, featured some of his most animated rhymes to date.  The DJ Green Lantern produced “#1 Spot” is a prime example. Based on the dudes’ “Soul Bossa Nova,” made famous by the Austin Powers movies, Ludacris sent warning shots to any foe standing in his way with a smile. Sidebar: the Bill O’Reilly diss was too official. Number One Spot: Soul Bossa Nova: 2. Mobb Deep – Shook Ones Part II Mobb Deep’s infamously dark delivery and hardcore street tales have made them one of the most critically acclaimed rap groups hip hop has seen. On the classic, The Infamous , Havoc sampled a frightening fragment of a cool Quincy record, “Kitty With The Bent Frame,” to give “Shook Ones Part II” the element of danger it needed to match the duo’s storytelling. Prodigy and Havoc let all the killers and hundred dollar billers know theyweren’t Wu-Tang, but they weren’t “nothin’ to  f*ck wit” either. Shook Ones Part II : Kitty With The Bent Frame : 1. The Pharcyde – Passin Me By Released in 1993, “Passin Me By” found the four member crew recounting stories of school boy crushes that end in heartbreak. Producer, J-Swift sampled “Summer In The City” for this classic. “Passin Me By” will forever resonate because there will always be some guy sprung over a female. By the way, our number eight selection shares the sample. Can you hear them in both records? what’s the difference between the uses of the two songs? Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry Clash Over Daughter’s Tears, Race

The custody battle between Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry is growing uglier each day. Throughout this week, sources have claimed that the model often berated the actress in despicable terms ; while Berry replied by treating her child’s father like a sperm bank . At the center of this feud, of course, is two-year old Nahla. It was her reaction to spending time with Aubry in December that reportedly raised concerns for Berry. “She was crying and kicking and screaming. She was hanging onto her mother’s legs so she didn’t have to go,” a insider tells People of a an incident around Christmas when her dad arrived to pick Nahla up. Gabriel allegedly responded by “forcing” his daughter into his car. Ever since, terms of the parents’ relationship have gone from amicable to extremely sour. Meanwhile, TMZ quotes a source who says Aubry grew incensed any time Nahla was referred to as “black.” Whenever the Canadian model would read such a reference, he supposedly demanded Berry contact the publication and ask for a “retraction.” There’s been little said by Berry and Aubry themselves through this ordeal, making it difficult to know what/who to believe. The best we can do is hope that everyone remembers what’s at stake here: the well-being of a little girl.

Juelz Santana Opens Up About Studio Raid

Dipset MC blames raid on his studio, arrest of Skull Gang’s Hynief. By Jayson Rodriguez Juelz Santana Photo: Johnny Nunez/WireImage Diplomats rapper Juelz Santana missed a few appointments last week, among them an appearance on MTV News’ “RapFix Live” and a concert in Chicago. Cam’ron said Santana had a “skin issue” that kept him from the Dipset-themed “RapFix Live,” however, it was later revealed Santana was dealing with a legal ordeal: An affiliate of his was arrested at the rapper’s New Jersey studio. In an interview with Chicago’s Power 92 , the MC apologized for his absence and briefly spoke about the incident. “It’s been some legal issue, I know it’s been all over the Internet,” Santana told the Hot Boyz radio hosts. “Police ran up in my studio. I had to deal with that and a couple things. “They always picking on me — that’s the best way I can put it,” he continued. “But by the graces of God, everything should be OK. I wasn’t caught with anything in my possession.” Skull Gang MC Hynief (born Toby M. Raynor) was arrested, with police saying he was in possession of firearms and marijuana. “Two fully loaded 9mm caliber handguns were found in the recording studio along with several boxes of ammunition. Additionally, seventeen (17) small clear zip-lock bags each containing a greenish brown vegetation, consistent with the appearance of Marijuana, and drug paraphernalia were seized,” a spokesperson for the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement. Santana will join Cam’ron, Jim Jones and Freekey Zekey for a Diplomats reunion LP due later this year. Related Videos ‘RapFix Live’ With The Diplomats Related Artists Juelz Santana The Diplomats

Diplomats Say, ‘Together, We Can Always Do Better’

Reunited Dipset show up for ‘RapFix Live,’ where Jim Jones says he’s glad to have his ‘brothers back.’ By Jayson Rodriguez, with reporting by Sway Calloway The Diplomats Photo: MTV News When it comes to the reunited Diplomats , the Harlem collective’s spat was largely between frontman Cam’ron and capo Jim Jones. Cam and Jim tossed barbs at each other during interviews, though they were civil enough to acknowledge their childhood friendship. And while Juelz Santana remained neutral for a long time (he eventually sided with Jones), it was Freekey Zekey who constantly urged the pair to put aside their differences. “Zeke never had a problem with anyone, so he was always trying to get everybody to talk,” Cam’ron told host Sway during the Dipset’s appearance on “RapFix Live” on Thursday (January 20). “I think everyone just needed to come to an understanding. We could all do great by ourselves, but if we all together, we can always do better. Like Snoop said, I can do whatever I want by myself but when I’m with Dr. Dre, it’s breakthroughs, it’s miracles, it’s stars and it’s all types of things in the air.” The rift between Cam and Jones lasted roughly three years until last year when the two announced they’d reconciled; in April 2010 they revealed they were in negotiations for a new record deal. A month later, in Atlanta, the two made their most pronounced appearance together in years when they joined forces at a Converse-sponsored hoops tournament , where they took first place. Since then, the Harlem crew have been back to their old tricks — with an added wrinkle in new affiliate and Cam prot
