It feels like it’s been a long time since we got to experience some good old-fashioned Kardashian outrage, right? There’s been drama, sure — there’s always drama , and as long as the Kardashians exist, there always will be — but when was the last time a Kardashian did something that truly angered the masses? It’s hard to say. But you know what’s not hard to say? That people are thoroughly pissed about this new photo that Kourtney Kardashian shared over the weekend. Take a good, hard look at it — do you see the issue? Look at little Penelope’s mouth. Specifically, look at her lips. To just spell it right out for you, look at that lip ring on that little girl’s mouth. “Our Oscar Sunday,” Kourtney explained in the caption. “Yes, that’s a lip ring. Thanks @kimkardashian.” So yeah, this is almost definitely not real. Kourtney thanked Kim, which sounds to us like Kim gave Peneople that fake lip ring she was so fond of wearing over the holidays. Also, Penelope is four years old. Even if Kourtney was willing to pierce her lip, would anyone actually do it? It seems highly unlikely. But it turns out that many Instagram followers do believe the lip piercing is real. And those people are absolutely furious. “You got your daughter a lip ring?” one person asked. “And parent of the year goessss to …” “Why don’t you just add a belly button ring too,” one fan suggested. Another asked “Why would you put that on a child? Using the child to get attention from Scott . You are pathetic Kourtney.” “Nooooooo our kids should still be kids not teens,” mourned a particularly sad follower, while another asked “She is a little girl why rushing her to grow up by putting on a lip ring?” “Anything to stay relevant and to make sure people are talking right? Other fans believe that Kourtney thanking Kim in her caption meant that Kim got Penelope’s lip pierced behind Kourtney’s back — amazing, right? Still others think the four-year-old with a lip ring thing is “on fleek” — what a world. Kourtney hasn’t addressed this, and she likely never will.
