The Real Housewives of Miami: Renewed for Season 2

It’s unclear if anyone actually watched season one, but The Real Housewives of Miami will be back, Bravo confirmed yesterday. The lowest rated edition of this franchise has earned a second season pick-up, although only three original cast members – Marysol Patton, Lea Black and Adriana De Moura – will return when production begins next month. New additions are expected to be announced any week now. ” The Real Housewives of Miami follows a group of the most beautiful, connected and influential women in town who work hard and play harder,” reads a Bravo press release. “This season will give viewers an inside look at these aspirational women as they juggle family, work and the fabulous social scene in a city where the food is spicy, and the drama is even spicier.” Not really, of course. With no arrests, trips to rehab or suicides by any estranged husbands , life in Miami – for viewers at least – has been decidedly mild so far.

Prince William who? Kate Middleton, the lovely 30-year-old Duchess of Cambridge, made her first solo public appearance since marrying into the royal family earlier this week. Attending a preview of Lucian Freud paintings at the National Portrait Gallery in London, Kate donned an affordable gray Jesire dress and four-inch heels. Take a look at the Kate Middleton pictures below! Middleton spoke with photographer Mary McCartney and Freud’s daughter, Bella Freud, inside the museum, smiling as always. The National Portrait Gallery is one of the five charities Middleton – an art history major at St. Andrews University – supports as part of her royal post. William, meanwhile,is currently deployed 7,500 miles away in the Falkland Islands, near South America, as a search-and-rescue helicopter pilot. [Photo: WENN.com]

Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton covers the latest issue of Scouting, a U.K. magazine dedicated to promoting … scouting. And specifically volunteer work! The 30-year-old is now the February/March cover girl on the publication, a fitting choice after she performed some private volunteer work with the scouts. “Part of her role as volunteer is to help below the radar,” says a source of Kate’s work with girl and boy scouts and their younger counterparts, the Beavers. The scouts hope the duchess will help Kate Middleton run a variety of activities relevant to her skills and interests, and she’s likely to be popping into some groups’ regular meetings near her home on Anglesey, North Wales, and elsewhere. Inside the magazine, adventurer-broadcaster Bear Grylls pays tribute to Kate: “It is how we change our society, many people doing a little bit,” he says. The scouts are one of five charities she chose to patronize in her royal role. Kate is set to start officially touring some of them next month. She and husband Prince William are due back from vacation in Mustique soon. William then heads to the Falkland Islands for military duty next month.

Kate Middleton Shops For Fashion Deals

Just because she’s royalty doesn’t mean she’s lost her sense … fashion or common. Savvy shopper that she is, Duchess Kate Middleton took advantage of some end-of-season sales and hit London’s Chelsea neighborhood this week in search of good deals. Was her endeavor successful? What did she find? An onlooker says the royal, who just turned 30 earlier this month, shopped at the store Anonymous by Ross+Bute, trying on some new pieces from the spring and summer collection, including a pink cardigan and boots. Sshe decided on a marked-down Jewel Collar V-Neck Top, a grey, form-fitting merino lightweight sweater accented with a bejeweled necklace attached along the neckline. It was on sale for 84.50 GBP, $129 USD (from 169 GBP, $259 USD). While checking out with her only purchase, the Duchess paused and admired a clutch bag, but decided not to buy it. Her visit to the shop lasted about 20 minutes. “She was really polite, well-spoken and mentioned she would be coming back in the future,” an onlooker adds , not that anyone would be surprised by that. The last time Kate Middleton was photographed out in public was when she walked the red carpet with her husband, Prince William, at the War Horse premiere. Even her 30th birthday, which was the day after, was spent in a low-key manner, when she held an intimate dinner with family and friends in private quarters. She has also been seen walking on the beach in Wales with her new puppy!

Kate Middleton Dazzles at War Horse Premiere

One day before her 30th birthday, the Duchess of Cambridge and husband Prince William attended the premiere of War Horse in London today. It marked first royal film premiere for Kate, who walked the carpet in a black, lace Alice Temperley gown (below). Suffice it to say, she looked fabulous. William shielded his wife from the rain with an umbrella. The film’s legendary director Steven Spielberg, along with War Horse ‘s lead actor, Jeremy Irvine, were also on hand for the star-studded UK event. The Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry, which helps military servicemen and women transition back to their civilian lives, was the beneficiary. In addition to the organization, fans who got a glimpse of the royal couple in person were also big winners, although these Kate Middleton pictures will do! [Photos: WENN.com]

Danny Gokey: Engaged to Leyicet Peralta!

‘Tis the season to get engaged. A couple days after Matthew McConaughey popped the all-important question to Camila Alves, and singer John Legend did the same to Chrissy Teigen , it’s been confirmed that former American Idol finalist Danny Gokey is also set to be married. Gokey – who lost his wife to complications from congenital heart disease three years ago and started a charity, Sophia’s Heart Foundation, in her honor – will tie the knot with Leyicet Peralta in late January. “We are thankful for so many of the blessings God has given us,” the couple wrote this week on the Sophia’s Heart Foundation website, announcing their engagement. “It is our desire to see homeless children and families be kept together and lifted back on their feet through the help of Sophia’s Heart. We love and appreciate you all.” In lieu of gifts, Gokey and Peralta are asking for donations to the organization. You can make one via this page .

Victoria Jackson Hates Muslims, Loves Michele Bachmann and Rick Santorum

Former SNL cast member Victoria Jackson is never one to hide her staunchly conservative political views. Her latest rant surrounds Muslim infiltration of the U.S. Jackson, on her web talk show this week, claimed the United States is being overtaken by radical Muslims bent on bringing the nation under Sharia law. Seriously. Citing insider knowledge, she said the following: “I just went to a briefing in Washington DC, across the street from the Capitol, at the Longworth building at 8:30 am two days ago and it changed my life.” “For six hours, I saw pictures and names and dates and facts and Islamic law books and Korans, Surahs for six hours and they proved to me that the Muslim Brotherhood has infiltrated our highest positions in government and this is serious.” “Michele Bachmann and Rick Santorum are the only GOP candidates to acknowledge the above facts and warn against the present threat of Islamic Law replacing the U.S. Constitution. Very few people in America are informed and educated as I am.” There you have it folks. “Few people are as informed and educated” as Victoria Jackson. Perhaps she means that ironically, as in she is so ridiculously misinformed, paranoid and uneducated that few people could ever stoop to her level. Eh, probably not. She also thinks Glee makes kids gay . But we need to subscribe to her Podcast for the unintentional comedy factor alone.
